My partner and I played this together and are so happy to have found this. The game has difficult puzzles at just the level of hard that turns us on. I often find the little animals insipid or boring for doing the same thing, like a bird retrieving things up high, but the frog prince is funny and his expressions made me laugh. Just try it with a light heart...you might just love it as we did.
I recommend this game!

I especially liked the HObj games for the morphing objects in them and while a coin has been used as a screwdriver before..maybe the game will have some other innovations. I was massively annoyed when the button did not respond to my many clicks and I had to use a hint just to get it to do so...but otherwise nothing else seemed to go awry. This is a solid ok game that would be a three and a half star were it a CE but as an SE, it is surely worth five. check it out for yourself...
I recommend this game!

There were no surprises here. They just dialed in the typical stuff to find and the way to find it. And threw in some unicorns and dragons to find as extras. Just no excitement and the puzzles were hard to figure out how to do, not that they were hard to do, but try to put a mirror where it belongs and it does not go and then suddenly another mirror does..who knows why? That sort of nonsense just does not charm me at all. O and you have a friend griffin looks like a parrot and over and over it simply gets things that are too high to get. Has a problem tugging them off too, the same problem each time. and there were some things in the dark but most things were clear enough, just hate when I have to click an area to see if there is something there that I can not see. Seems sort of mindless and dull. O well maybe some of you will like it...try it of course and see or not for yourself
I don't recommend this game.

What I really liked were the Hidden O games and puzzles, although there was a real sanity to how things progressed, I still got stuck and lost a lot of time wondering what to do. I do need to hear from someone about all the goodies that would make this a good CE buy, but for sure I am into it for an SE. Although most games have characters giving a clue to enable one to continue, in this game the character gives more of the story along with sketches that illustrate the events. The images in the game are very clearly drawn and bright, I hate dark games but in the instance where a lantern is needed, the game was not frustrating allowing us to get the alley lit quickly. Showing the sketch of Rosa to each character also is part of the retrieval of the story and seemed well balanced with receiving parts of clues that lead one along the game..this is not new, but the balance of the adventure was pleasing. The scenes are realistic but fairly pleasant not fantastic and over the top beautiful but in line with this story and not ugly. When a cake stand is dirty, that is acknowledged and dirt is not the overall world like so many games that have one digging through garbage and dilapidated buildings. I have decided not to buy those any more as they are disgusting to me. If you like that, have at it. I am unlike those who are squeamish about snakes and spiders for eg. but there are not a lot of those here I am only trying to indicate what bothers me might not be what bothers others and vice versa. One does feed a fly to a spider, but that is not the major thrust of the game, it is only part of a puzzle to find food and feed it to the correct animal. this is very simplistic and would be something one could do with a child, but it was not so easy that I was turned off. Heck, I just liked the game even though I got bogged down and I think a lot of other people will also try it and see if you are in the same camp as me. Let me know too if you do.
I recommend this game!

O one thing I want to say at the outset...if you push the ? to learn how to play a puzzle while the inventory is up also, you can not read the instructions as the two overlap. It took me a couple of tries to find that when the inventory is not up, one can open the instructions alone and read them. I have to admit that reading the reviews influenced me greatly in this purchase. However, that said, I have played the demo with my partner as we are wont to do...we both liked it, felt that it was straight forward, liked the variation on the H obj game part to be refreshing, are eager to do those puzzles we skipped for dealing with the time limit, and really felt comfortable and interested simultaneously with the game. With the weekend sale, it was a no brainer for purchasing it. Now if I can just get off the kick of doing the jigsaw puzzles and spend more time on doing all those hidden obj games I have in the "Q" to do...I might just get to do this one that I am really excited to get to LOL...
I recommend this game!

I will be buying this with a free credit. The setting is nicely drawn and zero super horrifying but with enough Medieval elements to enchant those who like Renaissance stuff including the moral element of overcoming Greed. Some of the puzzles were so easy I could not believe that was what was called for and then the directions sometimes left us wondering what to do and we had to skip just to get further into the game...and the HObj were not as interactive as the best games, but had enough for interest. It is right on the line of B+ and A- and when I don't know what else to get, it will serve and I'll enjoy the game for the tougher puzzles that I had to skip.

well another one of those games where one has to rush through puzzles because they are too complex to figure out if one is to get into the game.
the story line leads one to think it will be more modern and detective like, but no, it is rather full of fantasy.
The drawing is almost too dark in some places and that would discourage me..but it was not bad enough to be a no as far as I got into the game. However, while some Hidden O scenes are large and clearly drawn there was one where everything was way too small and that would have brought the game down in my consideration. However once during the trial did not make me think it was going to be a regular problem.
There were enough different things in the game to spark my interest to buy it. The untie the knot, for eg, required placing the knots in available holes and so that made that puzzle far more difficult than the ordinary one where one only moves the knots out of the way until all the ropes are clear of one another.
The Hidden obj scenes had interesting interactions. That is a must have in any CE for me. There were not any morphing objects, but there were some things that were like those in that they had to be discovered. I am waiting for a developer to make a morphing object change into an important part of the movement of the game...but that has not happened yet.
This game had some tapes that went into a camera and moved the story along and rewarded one with a photo that then had to match to a place in the game in order to solve a step. That was a nice new addition although kind of a combo of things done before.
There was an interesting problem of retaining one's warmth in the cold environment by finding things that were warming. This along with many other aspects of the game meant that one had to pay attention to things peripheral to the ordinary ongoing of games we have played before.
Another good aspect of the game was that it had a nice balance of Hidden O to ongoing adventure. I will be looking to hear from those who buy the game to see if it continues in fulfilling that interest and change that make this game have some originality.
I am inclined to get it at this point and that too is the opinion of my partner.
I recommend this game!

The puzzles were challenging, in the hurry to see what the game offered, I found that I could not figure out what to do with them. The directions were involved and not clear enough to get while under the gun of wanting to see what one could in an hour.
When I first looked at the game I liked the drawing and design of it, but then, the most annoying thing was the difficulty seeing stuff both because of the way it was drawn and the fact that stuff was so packed into both the Hidden O scenes and in the tableaux as well. Also the tint is very dark and that too bothers the eyes.
The next most annoying thing was that they would ask for a skull and there would be one on a bottle..but that was not the skull meant..that kind of overlooking of the integrlty of the game really annoys me.
As a result of the mishmash of things, one had a hard time remembering where things were AND add insult to injury the hint would show you to go somewhere that you could not recall where that thing was...and it was often buried among stuff right in front of one but the hint did not disclose that fact.
I do not know if there is a walkthrough for this game but without one NEVER buy it.
I am completely on the fence about buying this game. So I'm going to be looking to my fellow fishies for their take on it as well. Especially any of you who decide to swim the entire ocean of it by buying it. Give us some full reviews please.
