having to think and things not being random but solvable with thought made this game a real delight for us. Of course the beauty and the challenges added to the whole reason we are buying a CE and with two for one this weekend well that is a real incentive
Unravel the mystery of Griffin’s strange experiment in this suspenseful hidden object game and find your beloved scientist before he disappears for good!
This might have been a solid good game if only the devs had turned on the lights. The darkness tired my eyes and made going boring and tedious. I play games for fun not work. This was just a struggle and I started to feel stupid for keeping going so I stopped with half of the game trial still to play.
the Hidden obj were awful for being frustrating with smallness and clutter and having absolutely no idea what some of the things on the screen were. Then the puzzles were easy, time consuming and yet waaaay too simple. And the game is dark and full of creepy stuff. I do not mind that so much but I like things that are bright, light, colorful and pretty. If the game is not that, but has interesting puzzles and game play, I'm fine with a bunch of bats and crypts, but no redeeming game play, and it is a NO for me.
This is such a pretty game I had to buy it even though it is pretty dam simple. What really frosts me though is that I am an archeologist and I have to smash these thousands of years old vases. NO NO NO but hey it is all in fun so I am just going to enjoy all the beauty and laugh at myself. Another pet peeve is that the games do not tell you how to play and when they do, the explanation leaves me scratching my noggin for what they meant. But then the puzzles turn out to be quite simple.
I recommend this game!

Masquerade Mysteries: The Case of the Copycat Curator
Help P.I. Joy Black find items and turn them into disguises and gadgets to catch a corrupt curator that is stealing from her father!
I only did part of the demo, but what I liked was the use of objects to solve things. Puzzles were challenging. There was one with two cards with pieces that belonged to each and that was a better challenge than just having a straight jigsaw of one picture. There was a camera to take photos based on riddle clues. There was some sorting through the inventory to find things to make up a costume and that was different. There were objects that had to be created. One had to think how to get to make them out of the inventory. So all in all it was new, different, fun and workable. I am looking forward to playing the whole thing. Will report if it disappoints in the totality, but I do not think it will. I do not usually like if the objects are small, but in the main they were capable of being seen, so it got a pass on that score.
I am so sorry I bought this game. Tiny clues required simply clicking mindlessly to find so many of them. What a bore. I thought I would like the story and there seemed to be some fun with changing clothes and taking on different personae but that did not materialize to be anything more than just getting into the outfit and the interactions were never more than cardboard motions to get one to the next boring round of trying to find miniscule stuff. I do not recommend this game.
draw a line a moon drops and shoots up. one has no control. the first review spoke of pop ups telling what to do. that was not my experience. i had no idea what to do except draw the line. then supposedly i was to earn something that allowed me to try again. but i never did it was just draw the dumb line and there was nothing more to do. This game rates a zilch.
I don't recommend this game.

Sherlock Holmes VS Arsene Lupin
Embark on an investigation as Sherlock Holmes! Stop the legendary thief, Arsene Lupin, before he steals objects from England!
Big fan of HOGs but this is the first adventure that seems to make sense. I know that Watson has to go to the bookstore but I do not know where it is. But I was able to figure it out without too much hair pulling. From there I found the clue and was able to figure out how to tell Holmes what he wanted to know. Success! This seems very well thought out and offers a lot of things to consider and feels like one is really figuring out a mystery. AND today it is $2.99 so BUY it and get into an adventure game that has you living a mystery to solve. I expect to spend some fun time figuring this all out.
That was enough for a buy especially at sale price. The puzzles were different and interesting and definitely challenging. The HOG were harder than usual and what I really kinda liked was that things were just buried so only a little part showed. I liked that I had to be alert to that aspect, so like real life when one is hunting for lost stuff. I also liked that things were not placed so they could not be seen, only that one had to be alert to seeing a part of a distinct shape like shoelace part of a boot. I did not get into it enough to tell whether the story was going to be a turn on, but I play more for the puzzles and the recall of where stuff was. I think it is a good mental exercise actually.
