I dislike when there is no way to modify the sound or to close out of the game.It is also annoying when I do not know why I get three stars or two or one no where does it explain itself I will not be buying won't even finish the trial because I am afraid of not being able to close it forever.
I don't recommend this game.

The puzzles are hard but I am cool with the challenge. This one has all the bells and whistles of morphing, Excellent hidden objects that are novel and different from one another, I usually have no interest in the story, but this one is actually interesting. There are jigsaw puzzles to find and cards that add to the extended play. It lives up to the excellence we have come to expect from Elephant games.
I recommend this game!

Look I don't know why you all got negative just because you liked another game with the Shiver name as scarier. This game may not have made you shiver, but did it not make you search for a variety of well designed Hidden objects with all kinds of interactions? Were not the puzzles well thought out and a cause for working the little grey cells? Was not the story line rather scary with some menace changing people? Nothing was too ugly, but for those of you who do not like bright lovely places, well this was a bit seamier so ought to have fitted your desire for what you think is reality. I like pretty games and ones that have lots to do. This one was not ugly enough to turn me off and there was plenty to do. I especially liked the battleship game. The one to fix the lockpick was too easy, but still took a bit of arranging. The patient chart one was easy too, but getting to it was a bit of adventure. I liked blowing up the ball to effect one of the tasks...had not seen that before. I liked the way it began before asking for my name. I only played the demo but this is an excellent SE and I will be buying it unless I find that the CE is worth the extra...watch for my review of it and my decision as to which to buy.
I recommend you try it without any preconceptions and notice how many fun and interesting things there are to do in just the demo...if the game continues in that vein, it will provide a lot of brain exercise and fun figuring it all out. I really did like the HIdden object games in this one more than in most because there were more different takes on things to do than in most. They were not like the ones where you have to do one thing to get on to the next one, but there were a few like that and then others that were more direct, so the finding of things was more varied. The game was pleasant to go through because it progressed quickly in terms of finding things and getting into the next area. Just a good game with some really excellent aspects.
Some of you are just too hogtied to an idea based on a title.
I recommend this game!

I hated this game and bought it based on all the good reviews and the intriguing name. I will never do that again! I hate ugly scenes and this one is about one of the worst for things that are moldy, dead, falling apart, and disintegrating. There is the story line of having a crash and coming to a hotel where obvious ghouls approach you and present to you that there is some problem that you need to solve in order to get out. There are no puzzles, the hidden object scenes repeat. You drag yourself through ugly place after disgusting place. You get to go to graveyards, into dirty basements, and even a sewer. There is a trip through a forest that knocks you out and you wake back in your dilapidated room in the hotel. There is a town that is abandoned and more town that is under water. None of it really makes sense. Some of the hidden objects were beyond the edge of the screen so the only way to find is through the hint that takes a long time to recharge.
I wish someone had warned me, so I had to write this review and let other fish know this is a trap that will have you bored and dragging yourself through a totally ugly stupid environment. What a waste of time and loss of fun during one's attempt to enjoy oneself. Please do at least try it and see before you buy it. What were the other fishies thinking with these good reviews?
I don't recommend this game.

Not all the games can be solved by logic. The real fun comes in being able to figure the puzzle out and if one has to guess I feel let down. Gizmos has not faltered in this regard and so I am more inclined to buy those griddlers even though this game has such great colors and switches colors.
I recommend this game!

The SE is on sale today, but I need to check out the CE as this game is so full as a SE I can not imagine what they did to make it worth a CE...have to check it out. Now having said that...of course I think any one would want to buy it.
I admit to some frustration around knowing what to do and where to go, but the hint is forthcoming on that score. I simply do not like to use hints. I feel like I am cheating.
The game is the opposite of dark. It is so bright and colorful that it does make the eyes a bit dazzled. Thus things are sometimes hard to see. (never thought I'd complain about things being too bright)
There is nothing really ugly here. No oozing garbage smelly horrors. I like that very much. You dark side folks will not like this.
Although I am not into Xmas at all, I like the game quite a lot because it has so many interesting things to do. There was one puzzle I took forever to get...one had to flip triangles to make them open around a center circle. I simply could not figure out how to move them...and finally I got it. Felt a bit foolish for being so obtuse. They were mostly acute triangles.
I was not a big fan of the little adventure stories that you had to move through, I did not like the plain paper backdrop, I prefer the ones that have little colorful stages that you move things onto. Anyhow this was a puzzle and I am always a fan of those.
The result of the game is that it is full and rich and pleasant to play with nasty little green guys to defeat. If there is a negative, it is that the progress is not obvious. Personally I like things to be logical and as I said hate to have to ask for hints. The custom setting allows for hints to be accessed quickly and that is a real plus in a game like this...I am not into being frustrated by things that make no sense. So while I will spend a long time figuring out how to make the triangles move properly, I do not want to click all over the page trying to find out what to do next. Quick restarting hints is a plus.
Another real good thing about this game is that the items are labeled when you hover over them, so if you are not sure what you are looking at, it tells you.
I recommend this game!

well all of you added together gave this only an average rating. I expected to be bored. Hey for a SE game this had real challenges in the puzzles. The HO scenes were ok, but one reviewer promised that they get real interesting later, so this looks to be a very good game for an SE. Now I have to think if I want to use a free game or buy it on the sale. The operating endgame is that I will own it and think others would like it also for a change of pace...I like fantasy but this is nuts and bolts with some real challenges.
I liked the puzzle where i had to move colored bubbles into the proper place. It took a lot of thought to get them adjusted to the correct positions.
I liked that I did not have to open the guide to drag out the code...I had it in my head and inputting it was accepted instead of insisting that I pull out the paper and show I had found the code. The code was there if you needed it, but this is the first game I have ever seen that allowed us to have it in our memory. I play these games for fun mental exercise.
In real life, I do not like to do these tasks, like fixing a broken engine, but finding the pieces and putting it all together here is fun.
The game is a bit dark, but not enough to make seeing difficult . The puzzle of putting the wires according to the correct number was not new, but it was challenging.
If this had been a CE, I would have rated it down to a four stars, but as a SE it is rather a breath of alien air.
I recommend this game!

If you like the challenge of recalling where things are, this one is a bit easier than some because the visuals are so clear and the things that fulfill the puzzles that keep one going are not so far away in the story line. I personally like that a lot, but I said level of challenge was good rather than excellent because it was easier than some where you have to run around and recall all kinds of places where things had to be returned. On the other hand, the puzzles were very well thought out and gave an excellent challenge.
Ah now the Hidden Object part of the equation had all different kinds of scenarios from find the thing that looks like a picture, to little play scenes in which we had to place the missing object, to finding things in the scene that complete a figure like a hat or a needle to sew up a heart. So this part of the game is varied and I find that enjoyable too.
Now if you are really ridiculously squeamish, there is a snake one has to lure for its venom and there are spiders that run along the wall, but isn't it time you recognized that these are just pictures and help yourself to get over these phobias? Yes Hidden Object games can be health and sanity restoring!
I hate ugly scenes and this game gives mostly lovely but not too ornate images in the scenes. Some games gild the lily with all kinds of Rococo intricate objects, in this game there are elaborate places, but a barn is not glorified beyond being a barn.
Shape shifting between being a wolf and a person is fun and there are crystal balls to be found in the CE. The story is the usual quest...I do not know why some people complain about plots not being new and different. There are only a given number of plots as proposed by literary critics: The seven basic plots are: overcoming the monster; rags to riches; the quest; voyage and return; comedy; tragedy; rebirth...so there you have it. Now as far as making the characters memorable, this game is not high on that score. I mostly play these games for the fun of figuring out puzzles and remembering where things are.
My favorite puzzles are mazes, word games, rebus games. There were none of those in the intro that I played, but the games required some figuring...like the tiles that had a number of possible pictures but only one was the correct one, and the clocks that all had to be synchronized to get to the green zone at the same time. There was a phases of the moon to be put in order game that one had to work things in an order so as to get them passed a blockage point and then into place. There was a concentration game of matching mice and another where the goal was to find the bags with herbs and forget matching those that were not the goal object. There was a puzzle to open a door that required moving all the gold coins to the top and all the silver to the bottom and they were on wheels so they turned. I liked the one that had three cups and a mouse moves them around and you have to discover which cup has the ball after you are shown before the sleight of hand takes place. There was a constellation to complete on a grid.
I will be buying this in the CE and I hope the extra story is worth it. Anyone have anything to say about that?
I recommend this game!

I play all of these as they come out hoping to find a good one. For these games to be good, they have to be visually easy to see. This one is dark, there is a background picture that annoys the eyes and if one gets rid of that background as is allowed, then the game gets darker.
I enjoy the challenge of figuring out the spacing, but I like for the squares to be colorful as they are filled in. This game has them all one color and a rather dingy color at that. I thought I was going to like it when I first saw all the color on the side where the tally of what you are winning goes, but the board is dark and the tiles all one color.
Another annoying thing most of these developers forget is that people who have played these before do not need the tutoring or even the easy puzzles. If I were to buy this game, then every time I start to play after having completed it, I will have to start with the easy games and work up to the harder ones. One of these developers could do us nanogram nuts a favor and make a game where once one has played, one can choose to skip the earlier games. An even better help would be to let us know where the largest boards start...or perhaps make a whole game of 20 by 20 grid games for us pros...
Yes it is nice to have the game fill in when it is clear that we have solved a line. It is great to be able to hold down the mouse and get all spaces filled in. Do keep those elements. Someone come up with a game that meets my suggestions and I will happily buy...O and then do another one...LOL
I don't recommend this game.

The story is OK there is a dark force to overcome. The puzzles were fairly good...I was stumped by the glass pieces on the lamp, but the one where you had to figure out the order in which to pick up pieces that accrete to a center diamond was fun. The HO scenes were puzzling as one had to do things in an order and figure out where things went. The tongs do not pick up the hot cover...so what does one do? well...I'm not going to spoil that for you. The only reason I will not be buying this game is that there are a number of move the stars so that the lines do not cross puzzles and for some reason no matter what I do, I can not get the thing to let go of the star when I have replaced it to where the line is not crossing. It was not a spectacular game, but it was solidly good and definitely an excellent SE. If you do not have a problem solving the knotted star puzzles, you will probably not feel cheated. These puzzles come up however at every chapter change of the game. Check it out, and if you figure out how to get those stars to let go, do send me a message . Thanks
I don't recommend this game.
