I read the ratings and one was rather low and said there was zero new here. I cannot imagine how this was anyone's conclusion. There were so many new things here. H Objs with many differing solutions and ways to fulfill. Puzzles like one that had to match colors..I could not figure that one out, so when I buy it I will have to work on it. There were other puzzles that were completely new. Not all were difficult, but I had to skip three because they were going to take too much time and I wanted to get as far into the game as I could in the time allowance and they were not easy.
I am not big on the story line in general, but this one was fairly interesting. This is a top notch game and not ugly and yet not as fanciful as those that are based in fairy lands.
So why am I buying this game filled with dingy places with cracks and broken stuff with dolls missing eyes and a little nasty girl? Well you will just have to try this game to find out, but I will tell you that it is fascinating on all kinds of levels and I know that I will play it many times, trying out the alternate choices of my fears, my preferences and so forth...O yea this is a good game, and they did not make it too awful as far as gruesome stuff. I will buy the CE because of all the morphing objects and I would not want to lose any aspects that they have crammed this game with....and I love mazes...
The puzzles were easy, The HObj find odd shaped parts was a bit repetitious. I am curious how many of these there are in the entire game? There are places where we have to explore cupboards to find needed items and that too makes those Hobj scenes rather obvious. What I really liked about the game was the landscapes on other planets and the storyline, but these while interesting and pretty, were not places to play but rather places to watch and read the plot. I enjoyed the Demo and gave four stars, but if it kept up that way and did not add more challenge and game play, I think I might get rather bored with the game. I fear that were I to play the whole thing my rating might go to a two star. This is one of those games that I am hoping other fishies will inform further about. As a CE there are no morphing obj, I saw space ship collectibles but those do not really intrigue me that much. I liked the game where one had to time getting around the guards, but it was rather easy. I did not like the puzzle where you had to match up circuits as that was mindless trial and error. I did like the trial where you had to follow the order of plates to push. I was glad that it was not one of those that makes you start at the beginning if you make a mistake. I like games that test my memory and acuity. I am going to recommend it and wait to hear from others what the full game is like for length and substance. I am almost sure I would buy it in a SE version.
I want to know where the border of the picture is. I like when the pieces click into place. I like when the shapes are unusual as well as typical jigsaw shape. I like Jigsaws Galore so much better. I like being able to make changes in depth of the pieces and having a lot more control over the way they look. I like having the ability to decide if I want to rotate or not. I like the pictures to be very clear and not murky which this game did fulfill. Of course you should try it and see what you think.
I don't recommend this game.

Reality Show: Fatal Shot Collector's Edition
After a man is murdered on a hit reality TV show, you are called in to uncover the truth behind the crime.
Nothing much to go wow over. Annoyed at when I click and it does not respond and finally does maybe I was a hair off some sweet spot but it should not be so touchy. I pretty much accept what is given, and I have zero problems with clowns, but I simply dislike ugly. No Hidden O scenes but there are these puppet show things that one has to figure out what to do. There is a taxi to find but it is not in that scene...so have to go else where. I sometimes like those little stage scenes in other games, but it seemed like there were too many in this game and they were stilted in feeling...did not seem to flow with the game. I love aiming games but the cannon aiming was just too easy...sort of insulting. If I had nothing else and I had to use a free credit up I could buy this as a SE, and maybe gift it to a friend who has trouble with anything complicated. It is not a bad game but both of us were bored. Everything was too obvious...I guess that is what one gets with this version of reality.
I enjoy playing this kind of game in the trial with my partner. For us, it is always fun to do the trial together. I will not buy the game because the graphics are too blurry, the story is boring, there are simply too many HO games and the inbetween puzzles too easy.
I am wanting another jigsaw game and would have bought this if it had some of the things that I like about Jigsaws Galore.
ONe major frustration with 1001 is that it is difficult to get the pieces to move and too often a click ends up making a blue box open that is meant to allow one to move a group of pieces.
When I find a piece and put it into place in Jigsaws Galore, the screen allows me to get close to the spot and it sucks it in. This is not what happens in 1001, where we have to get the piece right onto the space where it belongs. This difficulty is the MAJOR thing that turned us both off about the game.
I like the click sound finding the place to put a piece makes whereas with 1001 the sound is a kind of clarion call that gets boring.
Jigsaws Galore has odd shaped puzzle pieces whereas 1001 has just one basic ripple shape.
My title says it all really. Why were we bored? Puzzles too easy, HO scenes not clever at all. We thought we were going to really like it with the chronometer busting up the time bubbles and finding all the things that ought to be moving to release the bubble. NO, that got too obvious. The most boring part was when the scientist needed tools to do his work and we had to find them scattered in his room. I think we had five sets of the things to find. They were hidden in the room in no logical way and the room was a bit dark with the things being hard to see. Gave me a headache. There was not much innovative in anything we had to do as we progressed. I gave it good visual because most of it was good. I enjoyed finding the butterflies which were easy to find but somehow I still liked doing it maybe because I am a fan of them. We were glad to get to the end of the demo.
Another reviewer said the scenes were dingy...NO not at all. I HATE dingy ugly gruesome dirty garbage scenes. While this had no fantasy fairy like lovely scenes which I love, the realism was clean and well drawn. The time period looked to be mostly in the forties with a bit of fifties and a few cars that got up to the sixties. The scenes had industrial things turbines and such a freight elevator was of course not fancy, but the lighting and basic ambiance did not offend my need for clean.
Now the game, that was great GREAT why? because the puzzles were fun and inventive, the adventure was clear and the hint got you directed to where you might have forgotten what room the thing you had acquired was needed and it jumped you there, so you will not need hiking boots to get around.
I wish the hidden object scenes had not all been find a shape, but I love that each shape got to be used to find the next one.
I am looking forward to solving the puzzle that I have not yet found the bottom piece for, and the puzzle that I need the eagle for. I wonder what finding the torch for the statue of liberty will get me...there is a lot to do and find and get on with and I am eager to buy this one and get to it.
The colors are not garish and this is a fun game to look at as all the contraptions are well drawn and interesting. Sometimes we have to figure out how to make things work. Again the hint is very helpful in this regard.
There is a Strategy guide but it functions differently than the usual ones because the hint does most of the job.
I was tempted to skip a puzzle, because there was no hint for finding the piece to fill in the picture. However, I did not want to skip and miss seeing what I had missed, so I stuck with the scene one had to put missing pieces in their place and found the fence which was my last piece. I will bet the first one you find will be the same as my first...the building top piece. I really found that one fun once I got what I was supposed to do there.
I liked finding the toy cars and matching them to their photo. I still have two to find.
There was a puzzle where there were two pictures and you had to find the things that they had in common. That too was a lot of fun because it was not as obvious as one might think.
I enjoyed finding all the things one had to do in order to get the punch card. As I said there are a lot of things to do.
Furthermore there are morphing objects and collectible objects in the scenes. The collectible ones are easier than the morphing. I do not like that finding the morphing objects is less a matter of seeing them than having to make a lucky click on things. I do not like random clicking. I want a morphing object to morph so my eyes get that deja vu did I blink and really see that kind of feel. That is the fun of morphing objects for me. these did not seem to do that.
That failure, in no way discourages me from liking this game as overall there is so much really good puzzling to do.
Of course you should play the trial to see if it suits your taste. I think a lot of you will come to the same conclusion that this is a five plus star game.
I recommend this game!

Haunted Legends: The Dark Wishes
Restore the threads of Fate, before they cause a disaster!
Those of you who are too sensitive will freak at the final scene before the close of the Demo which came way too soon. I have not played the CE version, but a reviewer said this was too short a game...so maybe that is why they cut the demo short and of course to leave the cliff hanger ending for us to savor.
Everything was fairly simple and straight forward. I think I ought to play the CE trial to get a handle on whether this game is worth getting the CE
There is a magic wand that sorts out things that have some magical obstacle to be accessed. It is not difficult to remember to use it. I did not see any special things to find in the scenes. So this game seems to be lacking both bells and whistles that are usually found in games.
One of the simple things as an example...we get to find water...and soon find a dry sponge...well of course I went and got it wet and shortly had to use it. It was so obvious that there was not the pleasure in figuring out that one gets in a more complicated game.
One thing I did not like was that we played the same scene again in the Hidden Object...I do not like doing that. I did like having to find fleur de lis in order to open up the lists for the HO though. The lists seemed rather straight forward without any added bits to do that make some HOs so interesting.
I also liked that there was an option to play puzzles in a hard or easy way and I liked that in custom we could change the speed of when the hint and skip recharged. I always put those to shortest to get more into the Demo.
I have to admit I found the easy play too be a bit off putting but there are days when an easy adventure is fun.
If I am not blown away by the CE, I will put this on my buy when I need to use up a free credit list. I'll also put it on my list to play with a friend whom I sometimes play with who is rather bad at these games. Being so easy, she will do better and we will have more fun then. rather than me running the show while she has no clue what to do.
So with those stipulations, I will recommend this game. Of course you being the wondrous ball of individuality that you are, you will have your own take on it and I absolutely recommend trying it as it is certainly worth the time of the trial.
