This was purchased as a Daily Deal for $2.99 so after reading some very bad reviews I played the demo and to my surprise I was willing to buy it. I'm not sorry I did.
There are a lot of things most may not be able to adjust to. For instance the HOS are list and image find -- the scenes are bleak as are all the visuals of this game but there is a hint button which I used often and there is a good walk through provided by BF. Many of the objects are hard to find simply because of the dingy visuals.
I turned down the music.
This hint button works outside the HOS -- sometimes good information sometimes not.
There is a very good transporting map.
The story is chopped up into about 5 segments. You have 3 quests to find in each segment. I played in the casual mode and everything I needed to look at was highlighted with sparkles.
The story line is a little weak. Your friend has sent you a letter to rescue her daughter on an island. When you arrive your friend, Bloom, has been hanged for witchcraft and her daughter, Lily, is missing. The citizens are looking for Lily, as they believe she is a witch too.
There is a lot of drag time in this game. For that reason I almost didn't buy it. It sometimes became so tedious I almost quit, but I persevered. After completing a puzzle you will have to back out. At the end there is a long dialogue which you may want to skip after the talking stops because the written dialogue takes a while to scroll through the screen. This game just isn't as polished as more modern games.
Play the demo and read some reviews. I hope this was a bit helpful. Thanks for reading.
I recommend this game!

I played the demo and wasn't impressed. I also read the Forum and noticed lots of glitches had been reported. The hint button works well but is a little slow to renew for me. I didn't see any collectibles; no voice overs; no map -- nothing to make me want to buy this game. I guess games since 2011 have just spoiled me.
I don't recommend this game.

This review is based on completion of the demo. This game doesn't have any bells and whistles and isn't really a HO game. There was't a hint or skip button during the demo so I relied heavily on the walk through (which was very detailed and I liked it very much).
I had trouble just opening the game. There is no log in -- it just magically knows your name. I thought I was supposed to step through a door but that just exited me from the game.
You sort of just click on everything you see and hope something goes into the inventory. Some items in inventory are not placed but when touched it goes where it should.
There was a ton of dialogue with voice over. You can skip it but not fast forward. I listened to everything because I was afraid I might miss some sort of instruction, but there really wasn't any.
There was a jigsaw puzzle; 2 slidder puzzles; various spells to cast by following written instruction found in your inventory.
This game is very different from other games I've played. But I just don't like having to depend upon using a walk through to figure out what I need to do. I guess my brain just isn't smart enough for this game (sad smiley face).
Please play the demo to make up your mind. This will not go into my inventory of games.
I don't recommend this game.

This is based on partial completion of the demo. This game is different. It didn't even ask me to login. It just presented me with the mode/level of play and I was off.
This game requires you to hold the mouse to move around the room and to move an item from inventory to place it. I don't like that. I want to click and move -- that's it and it works well for almost every other developer.
The hint works well and recharges quickly. That came in handy since I had no idea what I was supposed to do next. You are presented with a hand for everything.
I don't know what the developers were trying to achieve with this game but IMHO they failed. While I did like the live-like characters that's all this game had.
I urge to play the demo to make an informed decision. For me this was an epic fail.
I don't recommend this game.

I played part of the demo and knew I would never buy this CE. It offers nothing I buy a CE for except a bonus game and wallpaper, but I'm not into wallpaper and that type stuff. Let me just tell you why this is an awful game:
-- It has no map
-- the hint button doesn't do much outside the HOS and it takes a long time to recharge
-- the HOS are very easy
-- the SG doesn't work in the demo
-- no collectibles
-- no morphing items
I was lost shortly after beginning this game so instead of opening up the walk through, I decided to just leave it and write a review. This game is only 2 years old but it feels more like 5. There are only 2 modes of game play and I chose casual.
Please play the demo to make an informed decision.
I don't recommend this game.

Based on 28 minutes of the demo because I got in a loop telling me to look elsewhere. I've posted my issues in the Forum and suggest you look there before purchasing this game. Good luck in what ever decision you make. For me this game offers HOS with objects so small or white items hidden on white sand -- just not a fun relaxing time.
I don't recommend this game.

I really wanted to like this game. After playing the demo I will not purchase it because of the music/sound.
It seems to be a good story about Margaret, whose brother has come to see her at the castle where she's been working on a new invention. When he (you) arrive she has vanished.
HOS are interactive and/or you can change to jigsaw puzzle. I found some of the items hard to apply things to and had to switch to the puzzle to finish.
Most of the puzzles I played were easy. I think I did skip a couple because I could tell it was going to take me a while to finish. I just didn't want to waste my demo time.
There are collectibles for the Boudoir and coins for the Museum. Neither of these are available to open in the demo and some encountered a white screen when trying -- so no peeking during the demo.
There are no morphing objects.
There is a helper, who remains in your inventory, that Margaret has created to help fix things.
You will also collect 4 other helpers, stored by the Hint button. The first is the levitation device.
There is a jump map. In the beginning of the demo the exclamation mark showed where there was something to do, while later the exclamation mark didn't appear. However the map still showed rooms where something might be done, whether or not you had the available inventory item. I hope this was just an issue with the demo and that it works in the full feature.
As always you should play the demo before purchasing and read some reviews. There are some stellar 5-star reviews that I don't agree with, so I hope this one helps (no offense to anyone.)
I will not be purchasing this CE but will try the SE demo when it comes out. This is the type of game I like.
I don't recommend this game.

This is based on the demo. This is a different kind of game. It's really like an animated movie with a few scenes thrown in where you have to find things that match with other things. Once you select one of the 3 modes you can't change it during the game. Also it doesn't save your game where you stop. You must start a scene over unless you have reached the end and it says "Done".
There is so much dialogue and people involved in this movie that I was totally lost from the beginning. I hoped playing the first game in this series would answer some questions but I didn't get very far into it either. I'm still confused.
I think it's about a 30-year old girl with some type of psychic ability who was adopted by some really rich people (she spends some time on a huge yacht owned by them), has a boyfriend (who has asked her to marry him but she won't commit) and someone is trying to kill her. To add to the mix are her biological parents, who may or may not be dead and her mother also has the same psychic ability along with her mother's sister who also has the same ability. There are other characters but I'm at a loss as to who they really are and what their reason is for being in the story. There is this one guy named Sydney whose voice is really creepy. For some reason I didn't trust him.
The HOS are definitely differently but not my cup of tea. The hints are limited as is the miss clicks. When using a hint it is sometimes very hard to see where the hint is. I used all 3 hints trying to find one object! I also used all the miss clicks so it started the whole scene over. Luckily the hints and misses were restored.
Of the 3 puzzles I played, I skipped the first one because I didn't comprehend what I was supposed to do. I don't know the Zodiac signs so I couldn't play the second. The 3rd was putting together a broken record which was very easy. There is a skip button. You can't complete a scene until you play the puzzle.
I play games to relax. This is not one for relaxing so I will pass even though it is a Daily Deal. You should play the demo before purchasing as this is not your run-of-the mill game. I know there are many that will love this complex offering, but I'm not one of them.
I don't recommend this game.

Based on partial completion of the demo. I played this demo because I just finished the demo for "3 Cards to Dead Time" to hopefully clear up my confusion with the latter. It did not. While the graphics were old school the sound was choppy. I seemed to have gotten into a loop playing the scene with love, ring, and sugar. Although the skip button worked it was impossible to get past this scene as I kept having to find one item, associated with the ring, at a time. You are limited to hints and miss clicks. When you run out you have to start the scene over, which I did and that's when I ran into the endless loop. I don't think this game is very polished and won't be wasting any more time with it or its predecessor.
I don't recommend this game.

I was so excited to purchase this game over the Labor Day weekend 2 for 1 price I only played a few minutes of the demo before I purchased it.
While the games graphics were well done the voiceovers weren't as good.
The HOS were very easy and there were some good puzzles. There is a map which transports as well as does the hint button. Whenever you're in a scene it even shows you what you should pick up even when it is very obvious. I've never seen that done before and hope to never see it again.
So I finished the main game in record time and went to hunt for the Bonus. I had to go to BF Forum to find the Bonus which is under extras and you just press play at the top of the page. Another first.
The bonus was dreadful. I mean awful. Without giving away anything let me just say nothing makes any sense.
Please play the demo all the way through. If you can get past all the misspelled and nonsensical words you might want to buy it but I'm telling you if you're buying it for the collectibles (which is a piggy bank clearly placed in every scene) and the bonus you'd be wasting your time. I don't think I've ever been so angry about a purchase!
I don't recommend this game.
