After completing the game. This game is different and I got it for free so I'm happy. There are voice overs and a hint button that shows directions.
There isn't a map, and one is needed. There isn't a walk through so I relied on the forum when I got stuck. (It took me 12 tries to make the coffee correctly which was a total of 10 back and forth each try!)
I like different types of game. I classify this as weird.
I recommend this game!

Gothic Fiction: Dark Saga Collector's Edition
Rescue your daughter, Hannah, from the clutches of an evil witch before it's too late in this chilling Hidden Object adventure game!
I'm so sorry I purchased this game. There's a map but it's almost useless and it doesn't transport. There aren't any HOS and that's what I love. This is just too confusing. I put it down a week or two ago and now I'm totally lost -- even with a SG. The hint button doesn't offer any information outside of pointing to an object in the scene -- it doesn't give you directions nor does it transport you. Really this game hasn't any bells or whistles. What a waste of time and money. Too bad there weren't any technical issues and I could have gotten a refund LOL.
Based on completion of the main and bonus games in the custom mode. It was an okay game. The graphics were beautiful; the voice overs good; but the sound fluctuated too much for my taste. I turned down the music and the voice overs turned down as well. Even with the music turned down low at times it would get extremely loud.
The map is interactive and shows when both the collectible and the morphing item have been claimed in the scene. However the map stopped working for a few frames. Lots of talk on the forum about this issue, but it started working again so I was happy.
There are the various HOS I believe either list or silhouette. You can also play a match-pair game instead of the HOS.
There seem to be more puzzles than HOS and they are all common. I don't think I skipped many of them so I'll say they were easy.
I enjoyed the game but I did have to use the SG often although I think the hint button would have helped me along.
I wish I had passed on this CE but they were having a sale and I caved. At least play the demo and read some reviews to make up your mind. I'm not going to recommend the CE but would recommend the SE when it goes out.
I don't recommend this game.

Deadtime Stories
Sinister thrills await you in this gorgeously dark and unsettling real-life ghost story from New Orleans’ shadowy history!
Based on completion of the game, which I bought on a DD so I wasn't expecting much -- Wow! I really loved this game. It is very different to say the least. The story revolves around a Voodoo Queen, Jessie Bordeen, an evil rich lady named Madame LaLairie, who it's said eats human livers for breakfast, and is told by the keeper of the Everlasting Life Cemetery, Edward Blackgate.
Where to start since this game isn't anything like the usual HOPA. There isn't a journal nor a map. The HOS are visited more than once and you pick some of the same items. However some of the items are extremely hard to find especially the further into the game you go.
The puzzles don't have instructions but you can use the hint button for directions if you need to. And speaking of the hint button. It chooses an item within the HOS but outside the HOS it gives you choices of what you want help with. This is very unique to this game.
You visit several places and cast a spell for each place you visit. There is a walk through for this game and I did refer to it several times.
I had so much fun playing this game and I'm sure I will play it again. You should play the demo and read some reviews. For me this is my new favorite game.
I recommend this game!

Dark Tales™: Edgar Allan Poe's The Mystery of Marie Roget Collector's Edition
A newlywed is threatened, and supernatural forces are afoot!
My review is based on the completion of the main and bonus game. I played in the custom mode. I liked this game but either I fell asleep and missed something -- what happened to the husband? Actually I'm left with a few questions about this game which is why it's not getting a 5-star review.
I really wish the accents had been French since it's obvious everyone's French. But the voice overs were okay except for that.
The graphics were clear and very nice however the music was the same old song the developers have been using for ages. I had to turn it off. I just couldn't listen to that flat organ music anymore.
The map was okay and it did transport. I've seen better maps. The hint worked outside the HOS. The HOS were varied and I enjoyed them. I did have to use the hint a couple of times so I missed that achievement. The puzzles varied from very easy to what-the-heck hard. I skipped many of those too and missed the achievement.
There were a few morphing items. You had to catch it in "morph" mode to collect it or wait until it morphed again. They were all pretty obvious. I wish there had been more morphing objects and some other type of collectible.
The developers did give us this "magic mirror" which was used about 5 times. I found it annoying.
All in all I liked this game but it doesn't make 5 stars and recommend it because I think the bonus chapter has relevant information. If not for that, I'd say wait for the SE. But you should play the demo and read some reviews to make up your mind.
I recommend this game!

Nightfall Mysteries: Haunted by the Past Collector's Edition
Track down the truth about your grandfather's death!
Based on completion of the main and bonus game. I enjoyed this game although there were sections where I became a bit drowsy but the bonus seemed to perk me up.
I've enjoyed this series. The voice overs are nice and I liked the mix of HOS and puzzles. The SG was well written although I like the HOS to be included and they weren't here. The collectibles are 2 masks and are in every scene. The lower left-hand corner shows when you collect one. There are no masks to collect in the bonus scene.
There is a journal which is very handy and there are 15 tapes collected in the main game. They are not found in any order. The map is interactive and comes in quiet handy.
As with any game you should play the demo and read some reviews. I'm very glad I bought the game.
I recommend this game!

Cave Quest
Unravel the mystery of the Ghost King and save your family in Cave Quest, a fast-paced and exciting Match 3 game!
Based on the demo I can't wait to play it to the end. This is the only M3 game I've played that actually has what seems to be a great story. I'm playing in the relaxed mode. There are 2 types of M3 -- the standard which I prefer and then another where you move along a trail -- not my favorite type. There seem to be more of the first type.
Play the demo and I think you might really like this little jewel.
Based on about 30 minutes of the demo. I literally fell asleep waiting for the hint button to recharge in a HOS.
And speaking of the hint button, it's only available in the HOS -- not outside of it. There aren't voice overs or a map. Even at a reduced price I'm not going to buy this because I wouldn't play it.
You should play the demo and read some reviews.
I don't recommend this game.

Based on completion of the main and bonus game, I was a little disappointed because this game was not nearly as good as its predecessor -- mainly the visuals were mediocre.
This game isn't very easy and I used the strategy guide often as well as the hint. The strategy guide wasn't as detailed as its predecessor either but it was useful.
There were several different types of HOS -- silhouette, lists, and one list of morphing items, which I liked. The hint button works well inside and out the of the HOS.
There seemed to be more puzzles than HOS and I skipped half of them. I don't think the puzzle descriptions were very clear which is the major reason for skipping them.
There are 20 morphing cards, but not in every scene, so you really have to be on the lookout. This is the only collectible in the game. The cards are interesting in that they tell how a magic trick is done. Whether or not these are legitimate I'm not sure.
There are credible voice overs and a very good transporting map.
Obviously I liked the game enough to buy it, but that was partly based on how lovely the predecessor was. I wish I had waited for the SG, but it was a 2 for 1 sale so...
Please play the demo and I also suggest playing the predecessor, Danger Games: Prisoners of Destiny CE.
I played half the demo and just didn't want to play (read) any more. There are no choices for level of play; sound and music is either on or off; no voice overs.
Lots of dialogue to read. The hint button works outside the HOS. There is a skip button and I used it.
Too much dialogue to read. Unclear of task -- had to use the hint button. I didn't like the way the HOS wasn't one at all but a list, kept in the journal, of items to find in different rooms of the house.
I just got tired of using the hint button for directions of what to do and of the endless dialogue.
Please play the demo before purchasing this. As George Washington would say, I cannot tell a lie -- this is a stinker!!
