Based on partial completion in casual mode. IMHO there isn't enough information presented for this to flow smoothly and there isn't a walk through if you get stuck. However there is a forum, which I visited twice to find out how to do something. Having to leave the game for help isn't my idea of fun.
There isn't much sound, no voice overs, and the visuals are cartoonish.
Maybe I quit too soon but I really can't tell you what the story is about.
I don't mind playing a few M3 but they outnumbered the HOS.
I'll wait until it becomes a daily deal and has a walk through. For me this is a no buy and no recommendation. But you should try it for yourself.
I don't recommend this game.

I played about half the demo -- up to the point of having to crack the computer code where you had a list of words, in different colors, and you had to find the word in the correct color on the screen -- the snag was the words only appeared for a couple of seconds and they would flash all over the screen -- multiple words at a time! I didn't find any and it was timed. All the games are timed. I don't like timed games. Like I said in my title, this game made me feel like a complete novice to HOG. This game is also very juvenile. From the fact that your "helper" is in high school to having to fly to Italy to find a bottle of mouthwash! Really? I don't think so.
This game doesn't have different modes of play. Had they had a timeless mode I would have finished the demo. I'm not sure if I would have purchased it, but I might have.
This game is certainly different. It consists mainly of finding items from a list. You take a picture of your item but it stays on the screen. Each item you pick gives you points -- each item you pick wrong, points are deducted. You also get extra points if you find the objects in order. Most of the items are very small and some items are very hard to distinguish from another. Even using the help to find an item I still couldn't tell what it was. There was a picture where I saw what looked like a fishing "pole" and I clicked on it and was penalized. That wasn't what the game wanted -- it was a fishing "rod" and even with the help, I couldn't see that it was a fishing "rod".
There is also a "collectible" consisting of a stamp, but make sure you see the hand before you click or you will be penalized like I was twice. Just having the stamp centered inside your camera frame isn't enough. You must have the hand to "pick up" your stamp.
I think there is a small community who will find this game challenging, but I am not one of them. I can't recommend this game and I surely won't buy it. I might have liked it if it weren't for the timed clock. That certainly turned me off this game.
You should play the demo to make up your own mind and read some reviews.
I don't recommend this game.

Okay this is not a very sophisticated game and it's short. It doesn't have a map (none is needed) and it doesn't have voice overs. There isn't a lot of dialogue to read but enough so you know what's going on. Interesting story.
There is a collectible in the shape of a shiny star. I didn't find all of them. They seem to be in each scene and in the HOS.
There is very little back and forth. The hint and skip button recharge quickly.
The HOS are mostly lists and many of the objects are extremely small and hard to find. As I mentioned the hint button recharges quickly.
There are a lot of puzzles and not a lot of information to go along with them. I skipped about 25% of them. Some were new others I've seen many times before.
This is a $2.99 game -- and that's what I paid for it. Cheaper than renting a movie from my local carrier and I think I got my monies worth.
Play the demo and read some reviews. This is a very simple and easy game. Very old school but I enjoyed it.
I recommend this game!

This review is based on about half the demo. This is different. You place different colored dragon scales on the board to make matches of at least 3. The colors I played with were pink, blue, red and green. There aren't modes to select and this is a timed game, however, I didn't have an issue finishing the board before time ran out. There are things you can buy with your game-play winnings to help with the game but I didn't need to use any of them.
There is a creepy guy who walks you through the game play in the beginning, again when you reach the 2nd level, and after that he hangs around to praise you when you finish a match.
Some people are going to love this game and some will hate it. I'm half way. It's not a game I would play. I'm more a fan of Fishdom 2, Farmscapes, Hexus, and Hidden Wonders of the Depths 3: Atlantis Adventures. Now those games are fun.
Please see for yourself by playing the demo and reading a few reviews. I'm going to recommend this game but not buy it. Even if it becomes a Daily Deal, I won't buy it or use a coupon. I just didn't like it enough.
I recommend this game!

I really hated this game -- really. Based on about 20 minutes of the demo I can say this game isn't fun. I'm unsure about the story line.
My main issue is having to "battle" an enemy. What happened to just focusing on matching 3 of a kind. I don't want to have to worry about making moves that won't help my enemy. I'm not sure what was happening, but I was sure he didn't have a move yet there he was blowing me out of the water again and again. I just hated that. I love making matches to add to a meter but I was so focused on the fire and lightening I could't make matches for the potion vials, armor or diamonds.
Please play the demo and maybe wait until there are a few reviews before buying this game. I consider it to be an "epic fell" of a game. You might also check out the forum.
I don't recommend this game.

Based on 30 minutes of the demo -- I just couldn't go any further. It's very juvenile. There is a lot of explanation on how to play this game. Mainly you click on something sparkling and click on another something sparkling and they are linked. Then there are some mini games which are very simple. I think this would be very good for children. As a baby-boomer I'll pass.
I don't recommend this game.

Based on 15 minutes of the demo. I just couldn't stand another minute!
The music, which I failed to turn down, was nerve wracking--a little goes a long way.
The story line -- well maybe I didn't stick around long enough, but nothing -- and I really don't expect one in a M3 game.
You accumulate points for certain tiles so you can buy things at the store, but I could tell it would be a very long time before I could afford anything. Hey, throw a bone in the beginning to keep a client interested.
What finally did it for me was having to hit gnomes that popped up. I don't like the "whack-the-anything" game.
Play the demo and read a few reviews. This seems like something from years past. Nothing new or inviting about this game for me.
I don't recommend this game.

Based on 15 minutes of the demo played in the relaxed mode and endless relaxed mode.
There isn't a story line.
The music was okay but not really my taste.
There wasn't any challenge. Same thing over and over.
Very boring.
Please play the demo. My recommendation would be for an absolute beginner of this genre. As for me I didn't like it at all and can't recommend it.

Based on completion of all 3 games in casual mode -- this one is awesome. Kind of a quirky ending making you think back about everything that's happened and still going, but...
This story begins with you being strapped down in a hospital bed with a Dr. Tormente planning to do a lobotomy! Needless to say you escape that fate only to stumble into one bad situation after another. Great story -- very twisted -- hence the name.
Lots of HOS and they are visited more than once. They are pretty easy - spooky junk piles - all list. I liked them.
There isn't a map which would have been great because there is a tremendous amount of back and forth -- but wait, the hint button gives you free directional hints so you can at least get to the next location if you need it. There is also a walk through, which I used a few times, but I mostly used the hint.
I loved the music, but hated the little sound made every time you accomplished something -- it really got old.
The scenery is dark and eerie which adds to the story.
The story line is hard to follow at times. Okay. most of the time. There are countless diaries and notes to read but nothing never really solidifies the story -- even at the end you are left with more questions. It's been a few years so it doesn't look like we'll see another game in this series. However, the games are still very worth while playing. I've seen countless movies where I'm left in the dark wondering what really happened, so that shouldn't in any way steer you away from these games.
Play the demo and read some reviews. For me, I can't say enough good things about this and the other 2 in the series.
I recommend this game!
