After playing Dark Moor for the trial period, here are my final thoughts:
* Dark Moor is yet another fairy tale fantasy game (a genre I'm beginning to tire of), that seems to be targeted toward kids, trying to get them interested in HOPA games. The easy game play & totally 'out there' story line gave me that impression.
* Scenes are blurry and dark and hand drawn. Some appear to be missing color or detail. I got the feeling I wasn't playing a finished product.
* As I mentioned, the hidden object scene in the demo was uninteresting and the puzzles were easy.
* Others have commented that the game is short, which we're seeing a lot of lately. So after playing for an hour, I decided against purchasing the collector's edition. That and the fact that the extra content, if you want to call it that, is not worth the CE price tag.
If you love these fantasy fairy tale type games with far-out story lines, that's cool. But I would suggest you wait for the release of the standard edition and buy that instead.
I noticed the poor ratings for the collector's edition so I decided to wait and play the standard fare. What a wonderful surprise and I'm so glad I waited.
First, I was impressed with the cut scenes, the graphics and the overall feel of the game. Voice acting was done well and the music fit perfectly with what was happening in the game.
Puzzles were fun and not too difficult as were the hidden object scenes. I played in 'custom' mode which gave me the option to relax and leisurely play the game.
What I found extraordinary were the morphing objects, which are unusual in a standard edition game. So overall, I found this little treasure of a game worthy of a five star rating.
There was a big discount being offered on collector's editions so I gave in and purchased this game. One should never assume that a ninety minute trial time means the game is long or worth the time and money.
I liked that the developers attempted to make this more of an adult game. There were references to Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs but it wasn't to the point of being a fantasy fairy tale. It has more of a supernatural, paranormal slant to it.
Cinematics were great and the interaction between characters was mostly natural and believable. There were holes in the story telling, it didn't flow and make sense at times. You'll find morphing objects only in the hidden object scenes and there were forty little Red Riding Hood dolls to collect. Unfortunately, I played very few of the puzzles because they were uninteresting and usually had poor instructions.
The main game was short and the bonus chapter was not only short but really wasn't needed because it brought nothing new to the story. So even though I paid less for the game, the actual game playing was shorter. I should have waited for the release of the standard edition like I normally do.

I have played all of the previous Haunted Hotel games and have enjoyed them. However, there's a lot more than dreams that are 'lost' in this game.
First, I had to constantly keep adjusting the gamma intensity from one scene to the next. And sometimes that didn't work either. Scenes were often blurry or so poorly drawn that lightening or darkening them really didn't help.
While the story line was a bit different from others, it was poorly written and not fleshed out enough. The reason I was performing certain tasks really didn't make sense according to the dialogue I had just read. And speaking of tasks, if you choose custom mode you will not be able to rid yourself of the annoying task pop-ups during the game. Not sure why developers offer turning off that option but then do what they want anyway.
Puzzles were not fun at all to solve, in fact I found them boring. And it didn't help that the instructions were often vague or didn't make any sense. I normally love the puzzles more than anything else, but found myself skipping quite a few of them.
I don't want to spoil the ending, so I'll just say that it was really abrupt and left key characters and issues hanging.
We are given a ninety minute trial period, so I stupidly assumed the game was a long one and purchased it. I was hoping the story would be better explained as the game continued, but I was shocked to see I got to play for only an hour longer and then the game was over.
I didn't buy the collector's edition because there wasn't enough bling. But I'm sad I waited for the standard edition's release only to be totally disappointed with it.
Unfortunately, I bought this game before I discovered all of it's drawbacks. I don't understand how it's getting five star reviews because right off the bat, the hand drawn hidden object scenes are terrible. A lot of them are really dark and some of the items that needed to be found weren't drawn very well, or they were almost transparent.
Instructions are very poorly worded and explained. Yes, there are five road signs at each location, but you have to play that one location until you're done with it. That means playing eight to ten varieties of hidden object scenes and other mini games so you can achieve the five road sign goal.
Some of the hidden objects you have to find are almost off the screen, which I found frustrating. So I had to put some of the hidden object scenes in windowed mode. But once I went over to options and changed to the smaller screen, I had to start finding objects from the beginning again. And of course, I wasn't asked to find that particular object this time.
You cannot go back and replay levels which was another deal breaker for me.
Mis-clicks are counted against your score. I lost a lot of points when I clicked on random things because they were drawn poorly. Also, when I was told to look for an antennae and it turned out to be a satellite dish, I was annoyed.
The music drove me mad and for the first time ever, I had to disable the music. It was on a short loop and and it became monotonous after a few minutes.
You can't create a new profile while inside the game. You have to totally exit.
There's a cat in ONLY the very first scene of each new location but we aren't told that. It's worth 100,000 points so be sure to click on it.
The concept for Road Trip USA is a good one but I felt the developers really didn't know how to pull it off.
Yep, this is a mobile game that allows for only one player with only on/off sound options and no way to track your progress or knowledge.
No one has mentioned the coin issue, which was my biggest complaint. Your first few levels are free to play and you are rewarded coins according to how well you solve the levels. But after that, if you want to play another other brain games, you have to spend your coins in order to play. If you solve the puzzle in the allotted time, you're fine. But I ran out of time, lost all my coins and couldn't play on. And this happened after only fifteen minutes of the demo.
Like someone else mentioned, a big 'YOU FAILED' appears across the screen when you don't complete the puzzle which is not too encouraging for younger or even senior players.

First, this is a jigsaw puzzle game, not one of those numbered grid games. But I already knew that because I played this game last year on a different venue.
Since I have played all of this developer's previous games, I'm a bit disappointed that not all the puzzles were of photographic quality. Solving hand-drawn images is a bit harder and not as pleasing to look at in my opinion.
The last thing keeping it from a five star rating is that many of the finished pictures have nothing to do with Beauty and the Beast. And, that you are forced to work with the puzzle pieces they give you -- you cannot pick the ones you want or need.
All in all, it's a great game to play while sipping your favorite beverage and just chilling out.

I can't believe all the rave reviews for this 27th cookie cutter game of Fantasy Mosaics.
There really is nothing new except that several of your palette colors have locks on them. But all you have to do is solve a few columns or rows on the grid, and the locked colors shed their locks and become usable. Do you seriously consider this a new 'twist' in the game?
There are still no achievements to attain, no awards, nothing to buy and nothing to build. There are no little mini-games or puzzles in-between grids to break up the monotony. And there are STILL penalties if you use a hint or a power-up. Sorry, but I'm tired of the lack of ingenuity. There are so many new up-and-coming developers bringing us much better grid games.

This is another of those game types you can play for free on your tablet or phone; but we're expected to pay money for it here.
Graphics, colors , buying clothes for Kitty, and entire game play is geared for kids. There's no way to enter different profiles so more than one person can play the game. I'm tired of these poor quality games being pushed on us.

Here's another android game that has been turned into PC platform so they can charge actual money for it. This COULD have been a cool game, but they totally missed the mark.
There's just too much wrong with Pick & Tick, so it's strange that so many reviewers gave it five stars. First and foremost, I found the trivia questions repeating themselves within the demo period. Why would I want to keep answering the same questions over and over again?
Adding to my dislike for the game were the hidden object scenes. They were mostly hand-drawn abstract shapes and poorly drawn objects. Also, when I spun the wheel to determine the mystery game I'd be playing, it almost always landed on those poorly drawn hidden object scenes.
Sub-par graphics and sound finally forced me to quit playing. There are better trivia games on your phone or tablet that you can play for free; and those are the ones I recommend.
