Some tablet games should remain as such. Changing to the PC platform can be tricky. So the gameplay was not wonderful for me, as it was for the first reviewer -- who gave this a perfect rating.
Immediately upon opening the game, the video was glitchy and didn't play smoothly. But I forged ahead. I was able to add my name and choose game mode but my cursor moved as if in slow motion.
I managed to make it through the first level of hidden objects but cursor response time lagged. When I got to the Bingo game, NONE of my bingo balls had any numbers on them. I was supposed to match my bingo card to the numbered balls moving across the screen but there WERE NO NUMBERS! That was it for me.
Twistingo is a colorful game and the graphics are okay, but the game is extremely glitchy. So it's a big "no" for me.
Here we have Part 2 of Amazing World. It's pretty much the same as the first one which I liked, but was sorry I paid CE price. This 2nd game is also NOT worth the CE price. There's just nothing special about it.
Scenes are crisp but some items are hard to distinguish. Even the magnifying glass doesn't really help much because it allows only a small zoom area which quickly disappears if you don't click on something fast enough.
I also felt there could be many more locations. Having to revisit the same locations many times gets old. Yes, you might possibly have to find different items, but most times not. Considering this game is called Amazing WORLD, you'd think they could come up with many more locations.
I ended up skipping more levels than playing levels:
* Too many "find the fruits", find the "desserts" etc. Most of what you are looking for is buried and you burn up too much time looking for them. Also, many items are poorly drawn and I couldn't even tell a dessert when I saw one. So I skipped all these levels.
* Too many "transparent" levels where the items are see through and blend into each other. These cause me eyestrain and headaches. So I skipped all these levels.
* You waste time collecting tons of stars and then realize they are good for only 2 hints. So I don't look for stars.
* Mini games are STILL the same varieties. No changes. A few are okay, but most are boring. So I skip about half of those.
* And what was with all the bubbles??? Annoying as all get out. Obviously the developers were trying to bring something new to their game, but the bubbles need to go away.
As I mentioned, I'll be going back to play the first few Shopping Clutter games because they are still the most fun.
So I own the first five Poe Dark Tales games and have enjoyed each and every one of them. But for some reason, Amax decided to change their gaming codes so the rest of their Dark Tales games will not play on my desktop. I am so thankful I just didn't go ahead and buy this one without trying to run the demo first.
I missed Wrath of the Beast the first time around, which is strange because I own all the other Living Legends games in the series. So I was thrilled to see this remastered version, which I promptly purchased. Let me say, it does not fail to entertain.
It's based loosely on an adult Goldilocks and her involvement with Bear Town. The graphics, the voiceovers and the storyline totally sucked me in and I didn't want to stop playing and go to bed LOL.
So, I highly recommend this game. The only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars is because one of the main characters is from King Arthur & Merlin. I hate when game developers steal characters from other stories and try to make them their own. But this game is so good that I had to overlook the "theft".
Honestly, my only complaint about this game is that the developer uses the same music over and over instead of providing new music for at least one of their mosaic games. But it's pleasant music all the same so I'm not deducting a star.
For the reviewer who deducted a star because her level progress wasn't saved, sorry, but none of these mosaic games save level progress. So, to deduct a star for something that's non-existent wasn't fair at all.
Okay, so this game has an average difficulty level. Some boards are harder than others, some are easier. You can adjust your level of difficulty under Options anyway, so everyone who loves mosaics should be able to find their happy place.
Colors are crisp and don't bleed into each other so it's a relief to be able to tell one color from the other when you're solving the mosaic. You can also choose the look of your tiles, which is a great feature. And you get to help Granny fix up her farm which is a cute bonus. If you haven't guess yet, I found this game to be entertaining and relaxing.
Wow, I had to hit the Escape key in order to exit the game? When was this thing created? Graphics are juvenile, looking as if they were drawn by a child. Even most phone/tablet games have better interfaces and graphics than this. Charging full PC game price isn't cool.
Being offered games like these have actually prompted me to go back to my huge stash of old games and re-play some them. Surprisingly, I've found a few that I purchased but don't ever remember playing. So it's still a win-win for me :o)
Sorry, but I don't think my 7-year-old niece would look twice at this game. In fact, I KNOW she wouldn't. Although the "art" looks like it was drawn by a 7-year-old . . .
And if that isn't bad enough, did anyone notice there are only 64 puzzles to solve?? I wouldn't even play this for free on my tablet!
This game was released in 2010 and I purchased it the following year. It was a five star game at the time.
Apparently, the developers are short on ideas and are re-releasing old games claiming there are upgraded graphics and improved CE bonuses. However, I already own all the games in the Awakening series and am not going to buy a duplicate.
Each of the Awakening games were fun to play, with great characters and storylines. So go back and check out the original reviews of this game and by all means go ahead and play The Dreamless Castle.
Honestly, I don't understand how people can give the same game such high ratings. This 47th installment has the same interface, the same powerup types, the same characters, the same clunky graphics, the same everything!!
Saying you can "interact" with this game is misleading. Hovering over an object and watching it move an eighth of an inch in either direction is not what I consider interactive gameplay. Minigames are few and they do not come with instructions. Granted, most are simple but there was one I simply could not solve and there was no way to see the solution.
If you have never played one of the mosaic games in this series, you will no doubt find it fun. But after 47 of these things, these are not only boring, but it shows great laziness and lack of imagination when it comes to the developers.
