This was one of my 1st games. I loved the beautiful colors of the scenes and garden.
The graphics are lovely, the game play is fairly simple. You need to find about 20 to 25 items per play, earning money to repair your garden. There are no voice overs but the butler is a quirky little guy that's a lot of fun. This is a great game for a beginner, and a wonderful filler game for the more experienced.
You have the option of relaxed or timed mode which can increase the challenge a little. Your goal is to win the garden contest and you can take as long as you want. You can change your garden as often as you like or just start a new one. Either way it is a relaxing way to spend some time.
Like the 1st Mystery Legends: Phantom of the Opera this is a very good game.
The graphics are splendid, the storyline an old classic, the music fitting and the voice overs well done.
The HOs are challenging without being impossible. All items are finding with patience. The puzzles vary from easy to slightly above standard and skippable.
There are 3 modes-easy, normal and expert which makes for a good game for all levels of player.
I really enjoyed this game. It was challenging, and kept my interest.
The graphics are wonderful, the phantom voice over is terrific, the storyline is good, and the music was good but unobtrusive. The HOs were junkpiles, and I do mean junkpiles making them a little more challenging. The puzzles were good not terribly difficult, and they are skippable.
There are no options for mode of play, but I don't think you need more than the one. Thankfully there is a map, because the opera house gets quite big and you use most of it as the game progresses. There is also a notebook which is very helpful in completing some of the puzzles.
I agree with others that the ending is lousy. After all my hard work, I felt this big letdown. I, too, wish I had bought the CE.
In spite of the ending, this was a good challenging and enjoyable game, therefore, I recommend this game.
I originally played the CE and gave it a fair rating as I finished the demo rather quickly, maybe I was just having a really good day. When BFG had the December CE sale, I went ahead and bought it.
Again I will say the graphics are absolutely gorgeous, the storyline is good, no voice overs, and the music is fair. Fun sound effects. After the 1st chapter things do get a little darker (graphics-wise), but still nice and clear. The HOs are good with a lot of interaction play. The puzzles are good not overly challenging with some nice variations. You can earn all kinds of achievements which I think adds to the fun. There is also a fun factor involving skeletons and others.
Two game modes, casual and expert, which makes it a great play for all level of players.
Overall the game play was longer than I thought it would be probably around 5 1/2 to 6 hours including the bonus. I thoroughly enjoyed this game and am glad I purchased the CE. Can I recommend the CE as well? Yes. Either way it makes for a fun play.
This is the second installment in what appears to be a trilogy, but I hope not.
I love this game and the entire series. The graphics are gorgeous, the storyline is good, and the puzzles are a bit challenging without being overmuch.
This series is so unique and innovative it makes it hard to describe. But I can say that I have played these all several times and still enjoy them.
I hope there is a 4th or at least another that keeps the same type of play.
Enter the world of Drawn. Explore the Painted Tower and unravel its mysteries on your quest to save the hope of the kingdom. Can you reach the top of the tower?
I love this game and the entire series. The graphics are absolutely beautiful, and the storyline is good. The game play is unique and innovative. The puzzles are good not overly difficult. There are no HOs per se. You find items thought the play.
There is just something so unique and fun about this game that I don't quite know how to describe it. But it is truly fun.
I highly recommend this game and the entire series.
Just finished the demo and definitely enjoyed the play. This one is better than the first so if you enjoyed that you will enjoy this as well.
The graphics are terrific, the voice overs good, the cutscenes were great, the storyline similar to the first (save the child and town), and the music good as well. The HOs are good, with some interaction and some items that are harder to find. The puzzles in the demo were fairly easy but probably get a little harder as the game goes on. There is no map but not really necessary as the play is pretty straight forward. There are 3 levels which I feel is always a plus. The notebook was helpful for me once, but the game is easily playable without it, which I prefer to do.
It took me nearly the entire hour to play the demo which is always a good sign. So the entire game is probably 5+ hours.
I found this game to be fun in that it was somewhat different in what it had to offer. I bought the CE during the sale last month and really enjoyed it.
The HOs are good, clear and crisp, in the "past" world they are very bright with most items easily identifiable. The puzzles are good, maybe a little easy but all doable. There are 3 modes, casual, advanced and custom. The custom was kind of a neat option #I don't think I've seen that before#. The game play was able to hold my interest, and I think it took about 5 hours to play not counting the Bonus play which was probably another 45 to 60 minutes.
The graphics are very good #dark & gloomy# as befits a ghost story, the voice overs and cutscenes were very well done, and the music was okay.
I do agree with the others that it was not a "must have", but I found it enjoyable and relaxing. A fun little game that offered something different and some challenges as well.
I recommend this game!

Mystery Age: The Dark Priests
Stop the Chaos God’s Dark Priests once and for all! Amber must head back to Westwind Village to put an end to the evil for good!
This game has beautiful graphics, a fair story, and annoying music.
However, it is a good play. It is made up of both HOGs and FROGs with some puzzles as well. All are doable. There is only one mode of play which is a bit of a letdown, but not a big deal.
There is no map so you do have to run around alot, but it isn't annoying like it can be with some games. The game moves a good pace and makes for a nice rainy day game.
When I played the demo, I found this game interesting in that it played a bit more like an adventure game so I decided to get it. First off, the graphics are great, the music is good increasing at appropriate times and otherwise unobtrusive. The cutscenes and voice overs were great as well. The storyline started out well, but half way thru had figured who dun it which I felt detracted from the story.
The HOs are interesting in that you find items in a circle that then creates an item you use elsewhere. The puzzles were above average, but all were doable. It has a map which is very helpful if you choose to use it, I prefer finding my own way. It took me around 5 hours to play, and I did enjoy it just wish the storyline had been better.
As others have stated the ending was a big let down.
Overall I did enjoy the game as it offered a good challenge and mental workout.
