If you enjoyed the 1st, you will enjoy this one as well. The graphics are beautiful, the storyline and music good, and the HOs are clear and crisp. The puzzles are fairly simple with only a couple that were a little more challenging (one slider in particular).
There is no map, but there are not a lot of scenes per chapter. You need to use the notebook several times to complete some of the puzzles which is fine.
There are 2 levels. The 2nd does not have any sparkles, and a slow hint recharge. There are achievements for completing different tasks which is always fun. I did have a problem when I went to view the achievements, it showed 2 and then when I scrolled down it scrolled thru 3 so I couldn't see them all.
I completed the game in under 5 hours and actually was getting a little tired of it. I feel this is a good beginner and intermediate player game.
Overall I did enjoy the game and recommend it.
I recommend this game!

I am basing this review on the demo which I played in casual mode as well. (I always play the demos in casual so I am sure to complete as much as possible to get a feel for the game.) There are 3 levels, casusal, advanced and hardcore.
If you liked the 1st Grim Tales (which I did), you should enjoy this as well. I found the storyline interesting, the music was good, the graphics & cutscenes are above average, and the HOs & puzzles were average and easily doable. The casual mode did have sparkles which I'm guessing won't be available on the other 2 modes. Didn't use the hint button.
Overall I think this is a good game and recommend it.

I bought the CE on this game and it was well worth it, so the SE should be the same.
This game is one great play. The storyline is interesting. The graphics are gorgeous. The voice-over is great with an intermittent chilling laugh which actually made me laugh. The HOs are above average. The puzzles for the most part are doable. I found 2 that were a big challenge and time consuming, but you do have a skip button. You receive achievements which I think are a fun bonus.
The game is fairly lengthy. Took me about 5 hours. And this is definitely a game I will play again and again. I love a game that really makes me think and work to complete and this one did that. Can't wait for the next one. This is one great game.
I highly recommend this game.

First off I am not a poker lover, but after BETA testing the Governor of Poker 2 I bought this game (bought that one too). I love both games.
You play poker in several different towns, buy the town, and end by playing the Governor of Texas and becoming the new Governor. You also can win several different awards, 1st place, pairs, etc., etc.
The graphics are great, and the voice overs are hilarious. One you can play over and over again.
Love poker or not, you will get a kick out of this game.
I highly recommend both games.

This is an enjoyable game. Not overly difficult, but can keep you entertained. The story line is good, graphics bright and beautiful. The puzzles are fairly easy, and there are no junkpile HO scenes.
You look for objects both whole and fragmented to complete different tasks usually in one area with some movement to different scenes and areas. I think this is a good beginner game with enough challenge for the more advanced player who just wants something that is fun and relaxing.
Overall it is fun to play and easy to follow.
I recommend this game.

When I saw this game was from Skunk Studios, I was really excited as I loved The Flux Family games. This one falls a little short of the other two in my estimation, but is still fun.
The graphics are great, the puzzles good and the HOs crisp and clear. The only objection I have is the HOs were so big it made some items so small they were hard to see. The storyline is okay, but does end rather abruptly.
Overall I liked the game and so recommend it.

This game is rather simple and easy. The HOs and puzzles are not overly challenging, but are crisp and clear. The storyline is fairly good with a bit of humor, and you do have to pay attention to the storyline so you know what to do next. The hint button fills quickly, and you get nice, clear instructions when you click on the objectives.
Having said all that, this is a fun game. Does not require a lot of thought, but is relaxing and enjoyable. It is not excessively long, but can be a great relaxer after and before one of the really intense games that we all know and love.
I recommend this game if you want a fun little filler.

This is a really enjoyable game. Has all the Dark Parables items that made the first 2 so good. It makes for a nice, relaxing play.
The graphics and cutscenes are stunning, the storyline good. The HOs and puzzles are above average without becoming annoying. Like the previous ones you collect the little bonuses which are always fun, and have morphing items which are fun as well. Also had a map which was somewhat helpful.
Has different levels to play which I think is always a bonus. For me this is a very enjoyable play and will play again with the first 2. I ended up buying the CE which I really enjoyed, included a nice bonus play.
I highly recommend this game and the other 2 as well.
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the demo.
I enjoyed this game. I have the first one as well and really enjoyed that. This one is definitely better than the first. The graphics I felt were clear and stunning, the HOs were abundant (although I felt a little murky and dark at times) and the voice overs well done. The storyline is good as well and music was not overpowering. The puzzles were good and somewhat different from others I've played, but didn't seem to be overly difficult or challenging.
Overall I enjoyed the play and will be buying in the new year. Still have some new ones to play from the great Yuletide sell.
I definitely recommend this game.
