This is the 3rd in the series, and I will say they continue to improve the game play. The graphics as usual are great, the sound effects are pretty good, voice overs okay, music was a little annoying at times but did fit the storyline. The storyline is good and continues from the previous two.
The HOs are a big, messy junkpiles still, and I don't like that you play the same scene at least twice. The puzzles were simple for the most part with a couple that had a little more challenge.
There are 2 modes of play, casual and expert. Can't speak for easy mode, but in expert there is no map, and the hint button is available only in the HOs which does add a bit of difficulty to the game.
I finished this game in about average time for me, and found it to relatively fun; therefore, I recommend this game.
The graphics on this game were quite lovely, and the change from "good" to "evil" well done. The storyline was the usual rescue the girl and save your home. The music was okay, not overly annoying but repetitive. The voice over was a bit to brit, and I kept waiting for some nasty "The Shade" voice or laugh.
The play was more adventure than HO, but I found the HOs somewhat boring after the 3rd one. Finding 22 spiders was about 20 too many. I really would have liked a better variety. I thought the puzzles were way to easy with no thought or challenge to complete.
All the same, I probably would enjoy playing this game as just another rainy day game where I didn't have to think or work alot.
I may buy the SE, but definitely not the CE.
While I feel this game isn't overly challenging, I am going to recommend it.
This is the 2nd installment in the Puppet Show series and much better than the first. The graphics are very good as is the storyline which is a continuation of the 1st story. The HOs are big, messy junkpiles, and I found the puzzles to be very easy.
There are 2 modes, casual and advanced. Can't speak for the casual mode, but advanced has no map and the hint button is only available in the HOs which at least adds to the difficulty. Compared to the first this one had more adventure and towards the end more traveling to complete tasks.
My one complaint is that you visited the HOs at least twice which I really didn't like.
I completed the game in less than my average time; however, I still enjoyed it.
This game has really nice graphics and a good storyline. The HOs are pretty good, but the puzzles are very easy. To me this is your basic HO with a little adventure thrown in. I purchased this after playing the demo for the 3rd in the series as I enjoyed that one, so I wanted the whole storyline experience.
Although the storyline is good and continues throughtout the sequels, this game for me is only ok. I prefer much more interaction and this just doesn't have much.
Playing time was very, very short, but again it is pretty much just a HOG.
Sorry can't recommend unless you really like just HOGs or you are new to HOGs.
This is a wonderful little sequel to the 1st installment. I love it as much as the first for its childlike quality that appeals to the kid in all of us. I often found myself smiling during the game.
The graphics are amazing not quite the same as the first, but still offering the charming change from dark and forbidding evil to bright, cheerful good. The HOs are good not too easy but not difficult. The puzzles for the most part range from easy to average. As noted by others, in addition to the fairy there is now a dragon as well. And he is absolutely adorable.
Again this is a great game for kids, but as an adult it is great to know that kid still lives in me.
It has 2 modes and although the game is not overly difficult, the expert mode does increase it somewhat. It is a little short, but a great way to pass a few hours. Can't wait for the next installment.
I highly recommend this game and the first to everyone.
This was my very first HO+ game. I loved it then, and I love it now. After all the other games, it still is great fun.
The graphics are amazing, as stated by others, going from dark and forbidding evil to bright, cheerful, gorgeous splendor. The HOs are good fun with some odd items to find. The puzzles for the most part range from easy to average, but there are a few that offer a bit of a challenge. The game just makes you feel good. Brings back the childhood memories of wonderment and "Tinkerbelle".
As stated this is a great game for kids. As an adult it is great to know that kid still lives in me.
This is one of those games you start and just don't want to stop, because it is so beautiful. You want to clear the curse in the next room just to see the transformation.
Everyone should own at least one feel-good game, and this is it. Definitely worth the price.
This game had things I don't like and yet I enjoyed it anyway. It has great graphics, Pied Piper storyline, fair music and some unusual play.
The HOs are all silhouette which I really don't like. The puzzles were very easy. The game play itself was a bit unusual as was references in another review-the magician's hat. The game is pretty straight forward not terribly difficult and was very short.
Having said all that I still enjoyed the game. If you want a simple filler game to pass a few hours, this is it. However, wait for the DD, not really worth full price.
This was a pretty good game. The graphics were well done, the storyline & music were good. It has everything that makes it a great game, but it just seemed to fall short.
The HOs were pretty standard, and the puzzles were fairly simple and all doable. There are 2 modes of play, casual and expert, but even on expert the game just isn't captivating.
Although I enjoyed playing the game, I found that I didn't really care about playing it again. And I for one want a game I can play over and over.
Although this was a pretty good game, I can't really say yes or no as far as a recommendation.
This game has everything. Exquisite graphics, great cutscenes, terrific music, a really good storyline, but no voices overs (but no one talks to you anyway). There are achievements as well. It has 3 modes of play-casual, advanced and hard. Only minus there is no map.
The HOs are bright and usually have 1 or 2 items that are harder to find. The puzzles range from average to somewhat challenging. They can all be reset or skipped. Lots of work to do within the story, finding, collecting and using this and that.
The game length was above average for me, meaning it took me longer than what I consider a good length of play time.
Overall this is a great game and offers a great challenge to all levels of player.
My review is based on the demo only. I thought the graphic were very good, the storyline was interesting as far as the demo went, the cutscenes were good, as was the live action, voice overs and music were okay. I did like that the scenes were not overly dark.
The HOs were basic junkpile with some interaction. The puzzles were okay, easily doable. As others have stated, the door knob was fun, he made me laugh.
I actually enjoyed this game, but don't feel it is worth the CE price especially if it is only 4 chapters as others have stated. Will wait for SE.
As far as recommending-can't say yes, can't say no as far as the CE is concerned.
