To be honest I found it rather boring, except for the opening scene. After that I wandered around looking for random things to do until the demo was over. There was just no excitement in the game at all but I expect a lot of you will love it.
I am rating it 3 stars as it has a lot going for it.
Good voices, music and graphics.
The length of the game is 5 Chapters plus the Bonus
The inventory is lockable and the map is very good especially as it shows whether you have picked up the collectible or morph in each scene.
Levels from Easy to Hard, no need for a custom level as all levels can be customised. I’ve never seen that before and I’m guessing that some other devs will copy it soon enough.
I liked the mini games and puzzles, but did not like the HOPS at all.
Collectibles: 4 sets of different items to find 35 in total plus 35 morphing objects.
22 Achievements to aim for.
The Strategy Guide is in the top left hand corner which I like as it’s often positioned too near to the Hint button.

I gave this game 5 stars because I enjoyed it and the Bonus Chapter which is different to the main game except for the WishMaster. Maybe he will come back in a sequel?
For some unknown reason when the WishMaster appeared in the main game I got goose bumps! I have no idea why because he did not frighten me at all, but the little girl did.
Excellent graphics, music and voiceovers.
Levels 4 - Easy to Custom
Length: 5 Chapters plus the Bonus Game.
HOS: Exceptionally easy and no challenge at all really.
Mini Games/Puzzles: Also relatively easy to do but they were interesting.
Collectibles: Flowers as usual and I am not complaining. I have all the Surface games and have never once found all of the collectibles, so it’s time for me to “grab a grandchild or two” to help me finally get into the devs Secret Room with the full collection.
If you want an easy game with collectibles I would recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

After having 9 family members invading me for 2 days I was desperate for a good game today in an attempt to relax and I did, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The opening video was good but the first few minutes of the game were a little dull as you had to meet the goodies or baddies straight off, and work out who was who.
This is a typical game from these devs although I found this one easier than some of their other games. It wasn’t a linear game nor was it a cryptic game.
As per usual with these devs the graphics are excellent, so are the sounds, voiceovers, etc, etc.
The inventory is lockable, the levels are from Easy to Custom, and the length of the game is 5 Chapters plus the Bonus Game.
I liked the Bonus Game which is set 5 years after the main game and totally different to the main game, it is also a decent length.
HOS: Started off with just lists with interaction or silhouettes but then became a a little more different. The lists for the silhouettes I could cope with but when it came to a picture of a Sun and after about 20 minutes I still could not see a Sun! SPOILER ALERT (sorry I can’t white it out) I resorted to clicking on just about everything until I clicked on the sun glasses! I am thinking more “outside of the box” than I ever have before.
Collectibles: 43 Sea Horses who are victimised as they appear on ceilings, in bushes or hiding under chairs when they should be in the water. Only joking but don‘t really like it!
Other collectibles: Beach balls which I had no knowledge of from the game, but if you find at least 2 of them you get to play extra HOS or Mini Games.

I played the demo and another hour or so after I purchased it, and I enjoyed it a lot.
As per usual with these devs excellent graphics, voices, music, etc, etc - I could not fault it.
All the usual Extras especially my favourite which is replaying HOS to get a 100% score, and finding the morphs as I've already missed one!
The length of the game is 6 Chapters plus the Bonus.
The collectibles are 41 Wolf Studios Logos, some are quite difficult to find as they blend in so well with the background.
Off to finish the game now.
I recommend this game!

The game starts a little slowly which will put people off but I think you should really give it a chance as it’s got a lot going for it.
The game is easy on the eyes and not mind boggling like some others. The pace of the game never made me think I had to rush through it at top speed.
A few little details but not spoilers:
Length: 5 chapters plus the Bonus Game.
Levels: 4 - Easy to Custom. I discovered that the volume for Environment, Sounds, Music were all set at 75 and were drowning out the Voice Over so I changed the above to 60 and left the voice over at 75 - it worked for me.
Hint/Skip: Sorry I can’t remember as I don’t use Hints and very rarely use a Skip.
HOS - All interactive and are mainly based on silhouettes, finding morphing objects and lists which get progressively more difficult.
Mini Games/Puzzles: We’ve seen all these before but they have a different angle on some of them.
Collectibles: Not mentioned in BFG’s blurb on the game so when I couldn’t find anything I just carried on playing until I purchased the game, and only then did I realise that there was an Origami Crane to find in every single scene (52 in all).
Tips: If you don’t want them, please don’t read them.
Finding the Origami Cranes:
When you enter a new scene looking for an axe, scissors, wrench or whatever, instead look for the Crane as it stays there for approx 20-30 seconds before it morphs.
If you are around my age (57) struggling with your eyesight or have visual problems find your magnifying glass before you enter a scene. Sadly my magnifying glass was leant to a grandchild for a spider project (I hate spiders) and I haven’t seen it since, so it took me 23 minutes to find just one Crane in one scene.
I am loving this game.
I recommend this game!

I was soon very sadly disappointed! So based on the demo only, as follows:
I was really happy to see another Grim Tales game as I have all of them and loved them all, so downloaded it immediately expecting a long lazy day playing it. What a let down for the first 30 minutes I was completely confused over everything but decided that as I had just woken up, I backed out of the game intending to try it again later which I did. No difference I still loathed it.
The HOS were all silhouettes in the time I played, relatively easy as they were not junk piles but there was no interaction.
The mini games/puzzles - easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy and a bit of an insult to an adult or a child for that matter as I reckon one of my kittens would be able to solve them.
In the demo I came across one of the more complicated puzzles (as originally featured in the MCF games), it was only a little bit more trying and probably the only thing I enjoyed.
NO LIP SYNC - unbelievable!
Music - it was wishy-washy and repetitive.
Panoramic Screen - I hate this feature as it makes me dizzy when it slides across my screen at speed, 3D does that to me too.
Love them or hate them - there are Morphing Objects which are easier to spot than other devs games, so I am giving an extra Star for that as I like finding the Morphs.
I definitely DO NOT recommend his game.

Well it definitely was for me as I still have goose-bumps.
You the detective are offered $100,000 to protect a businessman, Kevin, and I personally I didn’t like the character right from the start. You sign his contract and within seconds someone from afar is trying to assassinate him with bullets coming at you thick and fast. You manage to protect him by moving crates around and then run to his car only to be joined by Tobias who is Kevin’s security officer, they drive off heading to a safe house that Tobias says he has used before and it is definitely safe.
He enters the Haunted Hotel first in order to turn on the lights and check that no one is there but when you and Kevin follow him in he’s gone. All that’s left of him are his clothes - has he been vaporised?? A few seconds later Kevin is taken, but by whom and why?
Then you hear the kidnapper’s voice speaking from a monitor screen - for me it is the best gravelly voice I have ever heard and instantly the goose-bumps started. He’s menacing and taunts you as you attempt to overcome obstacles and not get caught in any of his traps that have been set up all through the building.
Levels: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom.
Length: 6 Chapters and the Bonus
Inventory: Lockable
Map: A jump map that shows the active areas.
HOS: Lists, silhouettes, so far all really well done.
Mini Games/Puzzles: All different types, some easy, some hard, including “tearing your hair out” types.
Extras: Wallpapers, Concept Art, Music and a Secret Room is available once you have finished the Bonus Game.
Achievements: 20
Morphs: 20
Masks: 12 to collect in total . The first one I collected was named Cheap Mask which I thought was rather funny.
Puzzle Collection: There are four boards to fill.
I recommend this game!

The story starts with an elderly man in bed asking his daughter Beatrice, travel to a far away kingdom to find the Rose of Life so that he can be cured. Beatrice sets off for the kingdom but as she arrives she sees a witch stealing the Rose of Life and trying to drown a ……….!
This is a colourful game and easy on the eye, the music is appropriate, the voices are good including the lip sync. There’s also a really good range of characters - 19 in all.
Levels: Casual, Advance, Hardcore, Custom and Timed Mode. Hint and Skip ranges from 15 to 90 seconds.
Length: 5 Chapters plus the Bonus Game.
Inventory: Lockable
Map: It’s a jump map which also shows the active areas.
HOS: There’s a wide range of them from very interactive to partially interactive and I really liked them all. A Match 3 game can be played instead.
Mini Games/Puzzles: All very good, some were variations on games we’ve seen before and other were new, they started off being relatively easy to solve but as the game went on they were a bit harder to solve. However one of these has completely the wrong instructions for solving it, it appears during the demo and takes place in the Big Top. Hint - You do not place the tiles in the top right hand corner - look more to the centre and you will see it.
Magic Mirror: You find this at the beginning and it stays in your inventory throughout the game and in the Bonus Game.
Extras: Music, Art and Wallpapers.
Achievements: 7
Collectibles: Quite a few.
Butterflies: 26 from easy to fairly hard to find.
Magic Objects: 10 all random items and none of them morph
Pictures: 15 all are of the characters, very easy to find.
They are not part of the game play but we can interact with certain things in some scenes, i.e. click on the frog and he jumps into the pond.
The Bonus Game was good too with the same heroes but with a different baddie, and it was a reasonable length.
I recommend this game!

You and your Owl have been summoned by the King to rescue the Princess who is tangled up in Magical Vines outside her bedroom window and there’s quite a lot to do before you set her free.
Each scene is really colourful and is so jam-packed with things to do I hardly knew where to start. The voices are good and there is lip synch, and the music was appropriate.
Levels: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom - the Hint and Skip can be altered from as low as 10 seconds up to 500 seconds.
Length: 6 Chapters plus the Bonus game, and a Hidden Chapter.
Inventory: Lockable
Map: It’s a jump map that shows the active tasks with a small yellow exclamation mark.
Journal: Generally it just shows your progress in pictures.
HOS: Are quite different, the first one had silhouettes and once you’ve found one you have to change scenes in order to put it back, I really enjoyed this one and am already looking forward to replaying it in the Extras section. The second one was entirely different and for me frustrating, but I am not going to describe it as I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you. A Match 3 game is available instead of the HOS.
Mini Games/Puzzles: So far they have all been a bit different, some are hard and others much easier, I enjoyed them all so far.
Vision Ring: It is used to charge the mystical clocks and to find hidden treasures.
Extras: Music, Movies, Wallpapers and Concept Art. Also Hidden Objects and Mini Games to Replay.
Achievements: I’m not really sure but I reckon that there’s at least 15.
Collectibles: 114 Glass Shards, some are very difficult to find and others fairly easy.
So if you like a game with lots and lots to do this is the one for you with the added bonus that there is 60% off this weekend.
I recommend this game!

Check out his Room - 18 coins for a ball of wool, 36 for a pot of flowers and 60 for 2 butterflies in a jar!!! Thank goodness caviar wasn't on the menu.
The game is relatively easy, relaxing rather than mind boggling so it’s one of those games, in my opinion, that just lets you play without being “driven up the wall with frustration” so to speak.
It’s a colourful game with good music, when the mirrors smash it’s quite loud but other than that it’s not intrusive. The voices are excellent but the down side is there is no lip synch.
Levels: Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom.
Length: 6 Chapters plus the Bonus game, I am currently halfway through the bonus game and it’s similar to the main game’s play.
Inventory: Lockable
Map: It’s a jump map that shows you where you are and the active tasks.
HOS: Virtually everything we’ve seen before but a little bit different - lists, silhouettes, floating around objects to catch. Some were a little bit interactive and others were 100% interactive. A Match 3 game is available instead of the HOS.
Goggles: We are given a pair of goggles straight off from our father to allow us to view anomalies by choosing a different lens’ which are either green, blue or red. We are then shown the goggles where you have to drag the silhouette in the lens to exactly match the scene. I personally hate these as with other developers they took me so long to solve, but these ones didn’t. So maybe the only reviews they’ve read are complaints about this type of puzzle! Who knows.
Mini Games/Puzzles: All different types and not too hard. However there was just one where I seriously considered throwing my mouse out of the window!
Extras: Game - Dots and there seems to be 6 levels when you play it, but whatever it is I haven’t got there yet. Developer Diary which Mr Jenkins features heavily in. Concept Art, Wallpapers, Music and Mr Jenkins’ luxury Cat Room.
Achievements: I could only find 8 and all related to HOS, Puzzles or Mini Games.
Collectibles: Sadly there are only Coins for Mr Jenkins of course, no morphs or other collectibles at all. The plus side was that yesterday’s half off sale HUGE still worked when I bought it.
All in all I really did enjoy playing this game and I hope you do too.
I recommend this game!
