I absolutely loathed this game, apart from the 3 HOS I played as they were quite good.
The English accents were appalling.
The instructions for the mini games were ambiguous.
The graphics were awful.
The helper was an intoxicated ghost!
No achievements!
No collectibles, except for the morphing objects.
And what was the point of putting the Strategy Guide in the Extras when it is in the game.
I've given it a 2 star rating as the HOS were good and I liked the cat.
Not CE worthy at all.
I think I must have been torturing myself as I played it for 40 minutes, so now that all my fur babies have gone to bed, I will join them.
I don't recommend this game.

I think I have all of the Shadow Wolf Mysteries and thoroughly enjoyed them but I am undecided whether to buy this game or not.
The mini games and puzzles were far too easy, so were the HOS. I was interrupted by phone calls when playing a mini game and when I went back to finish it, I made one move and the mini game was solved even though there were more moves to make. This happened twice and I felt I had been cheated of solving them myself.
The HOS were also very simple no challenge at all - why are all the devs dumbing these down?
As for the collectibles, you will be able to find them easily as the cursor turns into a hand when you get near it.
I am sitting on the fence with this game so cannot recommend or not.

I have would have given this a 2 star review but after seeing the apparition that plagues the little boy, he reminded me of Uncle Fester from the Addams Family TV series which bought back memories as I loved that show.
In the first scene there was a spelling mistake which said "I need the right took" instead of using the word "tool", easy to do but surely the devs have a proof reader.
The HOPS were incredibly easy, I think my cats could have found everything.
The Mini Games and Puzzles were the same, one look at the screen shot and you knew exactly what to do.
For me the storyline jumped all over the place and I couldn't get to grips with it.
Hopefully we will get a decent CE on Saturday and one my grandsons can't play.
I don't recommend this game.

Another same old, same old game, the only difference is the scenery and the characters.
The HOS were ridiculously easy, in one of them there were 3 items side by side on the box lid, and as per usual we had to find a paper clip to be used as a zipper pull. Do the devs have no imagination as they could use a hairpin, a fish hook or even your finger nail instead.
In one HOS the detective states that he/she cannot cut the tape so we have to find a pair of scissors. Shortly after that we are in a scene with bare wires and they are repaired by just tearing the tape! It was not logical, it would have made sense by keeping the scissors.
The Evidence Board is redundant IMO and I haven't used it since the first 2 games in the series came out as it's just a waste of time. The same goes for the questioning of some characters to determine whether the are telling the truth or lying, but unfortunately you have to complete it to move on.
I found the collectables during the game play rather difficult to find mainly due to the very bright lights as I have a problem with strong lighting. I remember way back one of their games set in a casino (I think) had glaring lights which caused my eyes to water non-stop. I called in my grandsons to help and they completely took over the whole game which was a shame as I had been enjoying it up until then.
The only POSITIVE I can report on is the fact that I am saving a lot of money by not buying these boring and easy-peasy Collector's Edition games any longer.

I loved the first and second game in this series but then things went downhill. Do the devs not realise a lot of us would prefer a NEW storyline?
However I enjoyed myself for the first hour as I was looking after two of my grandsons aged 6 & 7 years who insisted they could play it, so they snatched my mouse. I was ready to take over when it came to the mini games/puzzles but there was no need as the eldest solved them all in seconds and they went home very happy and proud of themselves.
I, on the other hand, found it very boring but I stuck with it to the end of the demo. I found the ballerina and the man who greeted me in the theatre (sorry I can't remember his name), very wooden, sometimes there was lip synch and at other times nothing.
No Morphs either - what a let down.
My rating is 3 stars only. Based on the enjoyment my grandsons experienced their rating is 100 thousand million!!
On the downside they have asked their parents to let me babysit them on Saturday as that is when the next Ceee Eeee comes out!
I am neither 'recommending' nor 'not recommending' the game based on the above. Try it for yourself as we all have different tastes.

The title says it all and despite that I played through the whole demo expecting a cliff hanger at the end, instead the detective was thrown into another pit, this time with the hostage. We all know they are going to escape anyway so the devs could have made it a bit more dramatic.
On the subject of the hostage I was stunned that the audience all ran away and left her alone with the Avenger. Surely there should have been an attempted rescue from at least 2 or 3 people, it would have added some drama to a very dull game.
Again we have the handbag-dog Elf, this time wearing a tuxedo! Dogs are useless at climbing trees, so I don't know how he managed it unless he took some lessons from Mr Jenkins.
For me this is just a point and click game with no excitement whatsoever. Morphing objects are very easily found as they change within a second or two. The HOPS were easily completed in less than a few minutes, and the super puzzle was an insult to our intelligence. The mini games/puzzles were also far too easy.
My pet peeve is that we can't find out what the extras are until we buy and complete the entire game, nor can we go back to find the morphs or collectables we've missed. I used to love these devs games and when I joined BFG back in 2008 as I bought every single one but not now. Their games are short and their secrecy over the extras is annoying.
My regret is I wasted 45 minutes of my time playing the demo.
I don't recommend this game.

This game now tops my list of the most boring and slow moving, I wouldn’t play it if I was given it for free!
No surprise thrills, no excitement and so no need of your little grey cells either.
I did like the music as it was soothing, I would say it was more appropriate for walking slowly through a field covered with spring flowers.
HOPs - far too much hand holding as you could see straight away where the object was.
Mini Games/Puzzles - no challenge at all.
Odd Things the Seasoned Detective said:
1) “I can’t undo the string with my bare hands” - cue the obligatory knife or scissors.
2) “I’m no doctor but I know an eye when I see one” - duh!
3) “Is this a real human heart?” - Yes and it is and delicious when stuffed and roasted in the oven.
How this game was released and a CE no less, I will never know. More suitable for small children aged 5/6 years old, although I think they would get bored very quickly.
I definitely do not recommend this game.

This game was complete boredom, nothing about it grabbed my interest so I was pleased the demo ended after only 56 minutes.
The download was incredibly slow which was surprising as it was only 402MB, even my garden snails can move faster than that.
Right from the start you have to chose between 2 options - Rescue Survivors or Run for your Life - I hate this feature but unfortunately some devs are using it fairly often.
First HOG - despite turning off the sparkles in Custom mode I sill got sparkles! So no challenge there then.
First Mini Game - there was no hand holding as it was patently obvious what to do, not a single brain cell was used to complete it.
I used to love these devs games but they are now just trite.
I don't recommend this game.

I did last 42 minutes but then quit as I could not relate to this game at all.
Inventory - not lockable which is a definite no-no for me.
Music - just annoying and dreadful especially as the bird starts cawing through it.
Options - in the options menu I immediately moved the skip and hint sliders down to the lowest as I thought I’d need it, which I did.
First HOP - find a box (there are quite a few boxes). Once found you have to match it to a silhouette, not too difficult but if you click 4-6 times without you getting it a red pop-up box that appears asking if you want to skip - why?
Second HOP - Much the same as the first HOP including the red pop-up box that said I could skip it. What’s the point of that, if I want to skip it I will.
Toilets - Really, I don’t want to visit toilets, they seemed to serve no purpose unless later in the game they open up for another HOP - not something I want to play!
British Red Telephone Boxes - The door does not swing backwards and forwards with ease, in fact the doors are very heavy and they are difficult to open for children and the elderly. What was worse though was placing the bricks on the puddle as it took me 12 attempts to match the tiniest little spot to the puddle.
This is not the worst game I have ever played but it comes in very close. My rating is minus 2 stars and I don’t recommend the game.

Before anyone says there wasn’t a Helper there was for me - my 7/10 grandchild.
BASED ON THE DEMO
I have all of the Amaranthine games and enjoyed the first 3 but they have definitely gone downhill with the last two. The storyline just didn’t grab me as it was all over the place.
The lip synch was poor which surprised me as these devs usually do it very well, and what’s with the professor’s smug expression when she proclaims that the core is about to explode?
Music - sorry to say that I didn’t hear it due to 7’s chatter.
Gauntlet - even 7 hated it and made me use it.
Mini Games/Puzzles - way too easy-peasy until I got to one where you had to position the orbs in a line that crosses the stars, which I found difficult due to the onset of arthritis I was struggling to line them up properly, 7 wasn’t!
HOPS - I liked them until I came across one that pans from side to side as they make me dizzy. There’s also a scene in the game that pans left and right, for me that’s a no no.
I slogged through the rest of the demo knowing I wouldn’t buy it and when the demo ended sadly the ‘call of nature’ had me heading for the bathroom leaving 7 with his hand on my mouse. I nearly cried when he shouted that the game was FREE but only because BFG automatically inserts your game club credits onto the BUY page and 7 had bought it after seeing the cost of £0.00!
My only consolation is that I can find the owls he missed all on my own, replay the HOPS and Mini Games/Puzzles without help, find everything in the Souvenir Room and play the Bonus Game alone, and yes the cost was a “large pill” to swallow as I had been waiting for a really good CE.
My rating of this game would be 1 star only, 7’s rating was 5 stars so we eventually agreed on 3 stars.
