I am giving this a 2 star rating because of the excellent graphics and the dog!
The graphics were good and I liked the butler‘s voice although I preferred looking at the dog. I also found that the butler asking the wedding photographer’s help in getting rid of the slobbering dog absurd, he/she doesn’t live there so why should they deal with the dog?
I did not like the two HOS I played although most items were easy to find some were very obscure so had to use a Hint several times, something I have not done in years.
I think at this point I fell asleep from boredom at approx 9.30am and about 20 minutes later Dax (my dog) woke me up, and I was determined to finish what was left of the demo. It never happened as the game continued to lack anything, i.e. excitement, anticipation, suspense, so as there was nothing of interest I stopped playing!
As for the camera - ditch it as it’s totally irrelevant.
As for the bride and her sister - ditch them too!
Voices - no lip synch!! I think this should be a requirement for all CE games.
A dreadful game which I definitely do not recommend.
I don't recommend this game.

My previous review got nuked - so here it is again!
Exceptionally good - just what I wanted to play today.
Graphics absoltey superb, so were the voicovers.
The mini games/puzzles were very good, in some cases you had to exit the scene and find the hidden object.
I am not a fan of the word "innovative" as it is too often used unnecessarily, I prefer "imagnative" and these devs are definitely imaganitive.
Thank you Devs I have had a very happy day today.
I recommend this game!

I absolutely loved it.
The graphics were crystal clear, and the music didn't annoy me.
The one drawback is that there were no voices over, just speech bubbles to read but I am not going to remove a star for just that.
Puzzles & Mini Games: There are a lot of them, some completely new and others with a slight variation on some of the mini games we've seen before, for example a 3 Match game that's a bit different.
HOS: Very good and with some interaction in each. Well lit and not junk piles thanks to the excellent graphics.
Hint & Skip: Both recharge very quickly.
Levels: Casual and Advanced.
Bonus Extras: There are 4 different ones.
25 Find 5 hunts to complete.
30 Jigsaw puzzles to put together.
20 Replayable Boxed Games.
30 Replayable Mini Games.
Achievements: 16 in total to aim for, so far I have only gained one.
Tip: The Menu button does not work (or it didn't for me) during the demo, a bit frustrating when I received a 15 minute phone call and couldn't exit the demo but as I already decided I was going to buy it it didn't bother me that much.
Give it a try and decide for yourself.
I recommend this game!

I am not going to detail the storyline as this game definitely needs to be experienced first hand and not described in detail. I found it to be an excellent game which keeps you on your toes, it’s spooky and challenging.
Levels: Test Subject, Escapee, Chosen and Free Will
Length: 4 chapters and the Bonus Game.
The child’s voice is very good and the music is appropriate the for game.
Inventory: Lockable
Map: You receive it near the beginning of the game.
Achievements: 15 each with 3 levels to attain Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Collectibles: 44 Symbols
HOS: Varied and not to difficult, in fact one of them was quite funny.
Mini Games/Puzzles: New ones and old ones, which are all do-able.
Extras: Hidden Object Gallery, Characters Gallery, Sound Tracks, Making Of and Jigsaw.
I recommend this game!

I played the full demo to the end, but as I am a self confessed slow player I didn't reach the cliff hanger.
The 4 star review reflects on their excellent graphics, voiceovers, music and the amount of Extras, which include re-playable hops and mini games, plus the ability to go back and collect any of the collectibles that you missed during the game play.
The plot was very like the previous game and the one before that - now rated mundane in my opinion. The MCF and the Awakening series managed a lot of sequels as they presented something new each time until they were handed over to a different developer. This series has not fared so well, the same thing over and over again with a slightly different plot.
The forensic tests have become boring, a brush to clean the finger tips or the tongue depressor to diagnose poisoning is redundant as I would prefer to just find the blue highlighted anomalies and move on.
On the plus side the first HOS was excellent, very interactive and for me quite difficult but I got through it eventually.
I am very sad that these devs have gone downhill recently by churning out games that are exactly the same with a slightly different victim with the same old, same old, routine to solve the case.
Hopefully my beloved Eipix will bounce back with a totally new concept, Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Witchcraft (good or bad), Space Travel or even a silly little dress up Barbie doll. That last one was a joke by the way! I want something different from you that chellenges us, not the same old, same old that you have been producing lately.
Fingers crossed you will produce a game that will knock our socks off!
I cannot recommend this game nor can I not recommend it.
It's up to you to decide.

A nice relaxing game for the weekend, we are the heroine equipped with a magic amulet which has 5 different abilities, growing seeds, lighting candles or fires and mending broken objects, etc.
We travel through a portal to Voldaren to assist in helping them fight the evil Razaroth who is trying to take over their world.
I loved the music it was very relaxing, the voices were very good although there was no lip synch, and the colour was great as I am not bothered about pinks, purples and blues.
Levels are Casual, Advanced and Expert, no Custom.
There are 5 Chapters plus the Bonus Game
20 Achievements - check them out as some of them are quite different, there’s even one for using the wrong tool 20 times!
Extras: Soundtracks, Concept Art, Gallery, Mini Game and HOPs.
No little helpers so far but who knows, one might fly by.
Collectibles are Runes and Volardian Crests none of which I have found yet.
There are also scrolls to read information about the city.
I am loving it!
I recommend this game!

1st Star - The colour was perfect, bright and vibrant.
2nd Star - The voices were very good, albeit a lot of talking but seeing that his wife and daughter had been carted off by mannequins the only person to talk to was himself!
3rd Star - The magestic looking flying dog with a perfect accent that was sadly named by Albert as Smudge. If I could have named him it would have been Piers or Tarquin. LOL - maybe senile dementia is setting in!
4th Star - I loved the little animals and birds depicted in the game and I would have loved to squidge them all and take them all home with me.
I didn't finish the demo as I am self confessed slow player, so I missed the cliffhanger which would have clinched it or not if I had reached the end.
The first 30 minutes were a bit slow Albert talking to Albert, so the game needed more cohesion or more appearances from Solitude.
Albert was a rather bland hero but the flying dog was perfect.
The collectibles were slides but I never got to the stage where to use them or why.
I will probably buy the SE rather than the CE as I would like to see how the game ended.

I did complete the full demo just in case the game play became better, it didn’t. It’s definitely not good enough for a CE game.
Voices - sounded forced and there was no lip synch.
Levels - 4 including Custom.
Map - a jump map which shows areas of interest and also shows if you have found the collectible, it’s the only good thing in this game.
60 Crowns to collect - one or two in each scene.
Mini Games/Puzzles - nothing new and the rotating rings one was very jerky, so I couldn’t complete it.
WARNING - the pace of the game is so slow you might fall asleep, I nearly did!
I don't recommend this game.

….. the Barbie doll. Who throughout the game has to be dressed up in well over 10 outfits and has to complete a task. She was totally unnecessary and mind numbing, but I got over that after remembering that I used to behead my older and younger sisters’ Barbie dolls and baby dolls as I was a tomboy aged 7 at the time, but 50 years later I can still see and laugh at their horrified faces!
I am not adverse to Helpers, for example we could paint a squirrel with our magic palette and it came to life to do a task we couldn’t, and then shortly after that we painted a dragon that lit up a dark scene when we couldn’t, so I think the devs should have stuck with that theme rather than the Barbie doll.
The graphics were good, the voices/lip synch also, except for the woman in the first “essence collection” chapter, as it looked like she had teeth that were merged together, no gaps and nothing to indicate they were individual teeth.
Collectibles are Olives and Coins, and even though I have completed the game I am not sure what to do with the olives. The game says I can use them for the Interface Shop and apparently you can use the coins for decorating your Boudoir. After having a look at the Boudoir I did want to run a mile away from it as it was so tacky.
Length: 7 Chapters plus the Bonus but not a stand alone game, more like an addition to the game after Owen has decided to be a nice guy.
Levels: Easy to Custom.
Hints/Skips 15 seconds to 90 seconds.
HOS: During the demo they were all the same (silhouettes) but after that they changed to lists or pictures and I enjoyed them. You can play Match 3 instead.
Mini Games/Puzzles became more difficult, I have to admit I skipped a few of them as I couldn’t work them out which is unusual for me.
Achievements: At least over 20.
I do recommend this game as I had a fun day with it, but also I do understand why it has been given a bad rating, aka the Barbie doll. I think these devs should pour more excitement (and no dolls) into their demos because that’s the “make or break” deal! And they should research what a Harlequin really is as it is definitely not a dress-up Barbie doll.
It’s a Marmite game as you either love it or you hate it!

I actually can’t believe I have given these devs a less than 5 star rating as I love their games and have bought everyone of them to date.
The voices, sounds and graphics were excellent, so were the Extras with all their “bells and whistles” which help towards their 5 star rating. However when I went into the extras for the replayable HOS after just completing one of them my computer popped up with a Violation Message and I had to shut it down manually. This happened after every other HOP I played in an attempt to get a 100% score.
The PROS
HOS - really very well done and very interactive and I loved them.
The CONS
PLOT - virtually the same as the previous two Cadenza games, i.e. someone has died or been murdered before you (the detective) gets there or they die within the first half hour of the game. By that time I was bored stiff as it was the same old story regurgitated for the third time.
GAME PLAY - fairly linear but I like that as I sped through the game a lot faster than I usually do.
PUZZLES - virtually non existent and very easy, more like Match 2 games. I am not dumb, I like a challenge no matter how long it takes me to complete it.
DEVS - Please make some more interesting games, i.e. fantasy, witches both good or bad, and throw in a few dragons or a phoenix or two. Or maybe even a Sci-fi game as that would be excellent.
I am no longer a fan of Cadenza and won’t be playing another game under that title, so please move along and give me something I can really sink my teeth into.
