I liked the game, it was straightforward, relatively easy and that’s the sort of game I wanted to play today. I purchased the game and was pleased to see they had a buy 1 get 1 free deal because there was another game I also wanted. I played about another hour after the demo and am enjoying it.
There are 4 Chapters plus the Bonus Game
Levels: Casual, Expert, Hardcore and Custom.
Inventory: It’s lockable
Music: I didn’t take much notice of it but that does mean it wasn’t annoying otherwise I would have turned it off.
Voices: Very good clear voices and the lip synch was good too.
Map: It’s a jump map which shows you where to go but sometimes it’s not that helpful.
HOPS: There were quite a lot of them, mainly lists of objects to find, or objects to find in the scene in order to return them to their rightful place. Not really very interactive. Alternatively you can Play a Solitaire Card game instead.
Mini Games/Puzzles: All do-able although one took me a fair bit of time.
Morphing Objects: There are 37 to collect and are relatively easy to spot.
Achievements: There are 15 of them and you can view them in the Bonus Content..
Extras: Concept Art, Wallpapers and Solitaire Game which gives you a choice of 6 different types to play.
There were a couple of things that I felt were wrong, firstly the Strategy Guide returns to the Home page when you close it which is annoying. Secondly it tells you to use the chalk that you were given after playing a HOP to play a mini game but I wasn’t given a piece of chalk. I resigned myself to skipping the mini game as I couldn’t progress further, however when I moved the cursor over the puzzle it became the chalk. I hope that tip helps as I was wandering around for about 10 minutes looking for it.
I recommend this game!

I have been impatiently looking forward to this game since I played the Beta, I have the whole series and reckon this is one of the best. So on with the mechanics of the game:-
There are 6 Chapters plus the Bonus game.
Levels: Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom.
Map: Jumpable and shows active areas.
Inventory: Lockable
Helper: A raven and very unobtrusive, he just flies up to collect something you have spotted and then returns No dressing him up, no buying him things for him in a room and no squawks .
Collectibles: There is a drop down box in the top right hand side marked Album, the collectibles are put in here and there are 15 in total with four different scenes Once you have collected enough you can read the chapter.
Achievements: On the left hand side a similar drop down box shows your achievements, the are a total of 17 to collect. And when you are in Emil's crypt in drips blood!
Voices: Very good, I particularly like the protagonist’s voice even though it does give me goose bumps too.
Music: Very appropriate and a bit scary at times, I don’t think I could play this game in the dark!
HOPS: Of the first three I played - find items from a list and half of them are interactive, Frogs and find so many of one item.
Mini Games: So far there were puzzles to put together and matching two tiles which move around after each turn.
Extras:
Art, Screen Savers, Movies, Music, Mini Games, Hidden Objects and a Bonus MG.
There were another two I have not seen before Test - answering questions about the game and Chronicle - reading the history of the family.
I most definitely recommend this game.

What better to do on a wet, windy and cold day here in my part of the UK than play a good CE.
I really did enjoy this game especially as I had no interruptions, i.e. phone calls or unexpected visitors. So I was able to concentrate on the game uninterrupted with the exception of my kittens poking their bottoms into my face, as most cats do!
Levels: Gumshoe, Detective, Inspector and Custom.
Lockable Inventory
Jump Map.
Voices: Excellent, I especially liked the variation of accents, and the lip synch was very good too.
Music: Nice and gentle.
Case File: Where the photos of the characters are stored along with some of their details, name, age, occupation, etc.
HOPS: Very varied from lists, to find and place or find and use, silhouettes, etc, etc. I personally found these a bit more challenging than in previous games from these devs, but I am not complaining even when it took me a whole 5 minutes to find the last item.
Mini Games/Puzzles: Not that difficult but some took longer than the others and none were carbon copies of other games we‘ve seen before. Sadly for me I could not work out how to solve the very last puzzle in the bonus game and actually skipped it after trying for half an hour!
Morphing Objects: There are only10 of them even though there are 13 HOPS in the game, obviously the devs added this little twist into the game - keeping us on our toes so to speak.
Collectibles: 41 masks to collect, most are very easy to find but there’s a few that aren’t.
EXTRAS: In My personal opinion only.
Re-playable Mini Games - I am not interested in.
Souvenirs - I like collecting these and I believe there are 30 to collect, some are in plain site others are not.
HOPs: Re-playable to allow you to achieve a 100% score and a gold trophy - I like playing these.
Making Of: Not interested in
Pictures/ Wallpapers: Not interested in.
Match 3: Not interested in.
Movies: I generally only look at these if I have been interrupted when they are playing during the game.

My title reflects on the fact that Christine is the name of my second daughter and she definitely is a “tour de force”!
Levels: Easy, Normal, Difficult and Custom. The Hint/Skip settings are set at 95 seconds down to 30 seconds in custom mode.
Collectibles: There are 46 masks to collect, 2 in each scene and some of them are rather difficult to find. In the bottom left hand side it does show you if have found them or not.
Tape Cassettes: There are 15 to find, they are not in consecutive order as the first one I found was 13 of 15. They do not detract from the story line though they just give us information, albeit at random.
HOPS: All kinds of them from lists to silhouettes, some are interactive, and the one feeding the ever-so greedy hamster what he wanted to eat. I loved it!
Map: Jumpable and very much needed in my opinion.
Lip Synch: None, you have to read the dialogue boxes.
Graphics/Music: These have never been in my top ten but as I had no problems with them I would say they are OK.
What I really didn’t like: The total dumbing down of Christine’s husband Viggo. From the start he shivered with cold until Christine solved the problem by smashing through the door. He commented a lot and expected Christine to solve everything, so if I was a man I would hate this game. All devs should really take note of the most recent MCF game and allow you to chose your gender.
On the whole I did enjoy this game as this was the type of game I wanted to play today as Thursday’s CE game was absolute pants.

I have the rest in the series so had to play this one too and I liked it, apart from Kira’s voice which was far too shrill and made me wince every time I heard it. All is not lost though as she’s now been carted off by an ice monster and probably won’t make another appearance until the end of the game when she’s rescued, and I sincerely hope I have found a pair of ear muffs by then!
Levels - Casual, Advanced, Expert and Custom.
Achievements - there are 8 in total.
6 of them have 3 levels each, i.e. finish 3, 7 or 10 puzzles without a hint.
If you watch the credits you get another achievement.
The final one is to collect all 20 mural parts (jigsaw pieces). Personally I cannot remember collecting a single one but when the demo finished I found that I already had 7 of them.
Extras - the usual Concept Art, Wallpapers and Music
Inventory - lockable.
Map - jumpable, it also shows which areas have active tasks to complete.
Sights & Sounds - Good lip sync good graphics and the music wasn’t boring or repetitive..
Length - 7 chapters plus the Bonus Game.
HOS - Interactive and varied.
Puzzles - none are mind bending nor mind numbing, most are relatively easy to complete with one or two requiring a little more strategy but none were impossible.
Collectable Goodies - 6 statuettes of the characters. 25 hares to collect and they do not look exactly the same, some are quite large and others blend in very well with the background. To confuse us even more at one stage you do have to find another 2 hares that are used in a mini-game so don’t count them as part of the 25 needed.
Bonus Chapter - I haven’t played it yet but after a flick through the Strategy Guide it looks a decent length
I did like this little touch that was inserted into a HOS but not part of it, there was a little bird sitting in a bush and every few seconds it pulled its head in and shivered - very appropriate given the game is called Deadly Cold.
I recommend this game.

I will admit that after 15 minutes into playing the demo I did not like it, the graphics were grainy and the game play far too easy.
After the fire on the stage the mother (who did not sound distraught over the loss of her 2 children) picked up an object from her handbag saying something along the lines of "I never leave home without my tuning fork"! She then used it once in the same scene and we never saw it again!
That's when I thought "Oh please, are you for real"!
However I like to give a game the benefit of doubt and continued playing the demo, the graphics became better, I did not experience a 10 second blackout when changing scenes as others have said, and the game opened in widescreen for me.
BTW - in the main menu there is a box you can tick to get widescreen although I didn't have to as the game started in widescreen. We all have different systems so we all get different start-up systems.
For me it pays to have 9 grand-monsters with an age range of 4 to 18 years who help me work it out #a little tip for any Grandmas out there, the 10-12 year olds are the best to ask#.
Levels: Casual, Advanced, Hard - no Custom. I chose to play in Casual as I wasn't in the mood for Hard.
Chapters: There are 6 chapters and a Bonus Game, as I haven't finished the game the 3 chapters I played were of a decent length.
HOS - all were interactive.
Mini-Games and Puzzles - There are a lot of them which is something I really like no matter how hard they are - I have spent hours doing some puzzles as I do not like being beaten! However I would say these ones were fairly easy but some took a bit of time #5 minutes#. If you hate mini games or puzzles this might not be the game for you, but check it out first.
Game Play - logical but there are a few scenes that are a bit obscure.
Collectibles - There are dragon emblems to collect and they are pretty much "in your face" usually when you have completed a mini-puzzle/game, once you have clollected three you are automatically shown a page with a story about the family or the evil Draco!
In my opinion - this was a fairly relaxing game and exciting in places, although it had it's moments of confusion but then it could have been me as I was meant to be working so rushed through it.
Please do not dismiss a game after only 15-20 minutes of play, finish the demo and then think about it.

Voices - very good although at the beginning the lip synch was way out of synch but it corrected itself after a short time.
Inventory - lockable.
Map - it’s a jump map and shows active area and where you are.
Music - I don’t usually take much notice of it unless it’s annoying and I have to turn it off, but as I didn’t I would say it’s appropriate for the game.
Levels - Casual, Advanced, Expert, no Custom option. I played on casual mode.
Chapters - there are 6 including the Bonus: On The Edge.
HOS - so far all have been Find & Use ones, so there is a lot of interaction.
Mini Games/Puzzles - ones we’ve seen before with a bit of a difference and none were too difficult.
Collectables - 25 Coins, you need 5 of each depicting a camera, film, magnifying glass, pencil and headphones. Once you have collected all 5 in a set you are able to click on the Open label to see what’s underneath the coin.
Extras - Concept Art, Wallpapers, Cut Scenes, Music, Achievements and Characters.
I was supposed to be working today but after playing the demo which ended on a cliffhanger I had to go back and see what happened and by then I was hooked!
The Bonus Chapter features 2 characters that appeared in the main game, it was very well done as it was a smooth transition rather than a "what is this?" and thankfully when it finished I was not left with another cliffhanger.
The game play was much like the main game including the coins to collect. The first couple of HOS were as before Find & Use, but the rest were the usual lists with one or more objects that you need to interact with.
As this game is half off this weekend I would recommend you buy it as IMO it's well worth it.
I hope these devs bring out another game in the same genre as this as for me it was excellent.
I recommend this game!

I am basing my opinion on both mine and my grandson's opinion as I reviewed the game to see if it was acceptable for him to play as he is only 4 years old.
This is what I wrote in the review section:
"Based On The Demo Only
After reading a post that this game was a match two card game, I played the demo on the premise that its target audience are probably children under 5 years old or people who have learning difficulties, to see if it was suitable for my youngest grandson (aged 4) who has just started school.
Apparently he is very good at counting but lacks in recognising the written numbers.
The music is 'pirate' themed - which he will love.
The graphics are bright and clear - which he will also like..
Each hand is fairly short - which is good so he won't get bored.
I loved the inclusion of the shopping trolley icon where he can buy Jokers, etc, as he does love to shop - much like his mother!
I would definitely recommend this game to anyone with a child that struggles a bit with numeric literacy".
My star rating would be minus 1 star at least but my 4 year old grandson's rating would be 5 stars, so I have given it a medium rating of 3 stars.

I have been playing this series of games since 2006 which was before I found Big Fish Games and I love them all.
There is so much to do, the puzzles are challenging and very frustrating at times but the satisfaction of finishing just one tricky level is well worth it.
Quick and easy to navigate if you use the directional arrows on your keyboard rather than click with your mouse as there are times when the Chompers are chasing you and you have to move really quickly.
I love the new magic powers too, it makes it more interesting.
I recommend this game!

I chose to play this game as it was a sci-fi game which there are very few of, and after 30 minutes of the demo I was still undecided on buying it. However as I had several free game credits in my inbox that were about to expire I decided to give it a try, and I am so glad I did.
I did struggle through the free hour of game play most espcially the language barrier, but when I read "Steve gets diffused" as opposed to what I think it should be "Steve gets confused", I laughed and carried on..
The first HO scene after you have left the planet you were on is, to use my daughter's words is AWESOME. It starts off as a usual HO but after that you can't find the next object until you have made a series of moves in order to get the next item, and they are not obvious moves. It took me over an hour and I was definitely challenged which my daughter found hilarious as she cracked it straight away..
I don't recall seeing this developer before, but if they brush up on their English and continue in this style of game play, I think they are going to be AWESOME.
Definitely a 5 star rated game from me because once you get into it you don't want to stop.
