I thoroughly enjoyed this game and was disappointed when it ended. Decent story line, lots of great mini games, not a over abundance of HOS. There are not too many locations that I got frustrated going back and forth and the locaitons made sense. I play a lot of HOGs and Adventure Games and this one was a great mix.
I recommend this game!

Just a perfect blend of HOS and games. No dark, dreary, kill your eyesight stuff. The characters were certainly recognisable. This was a very relaxing and enjoyable game. Perhaps not challenging enough for hard core players but it was a pleasure for me not to have to visit a w/t at all. The hint key is quick, The map morphs so no running around trying to remember whether to go up or down, or right or left. When there is nothing more to do, the game immediately gets out so you don't waste time looking for nothing. I'd love to see another game like this.
This game was a perfect mix. Lots of really good games, not excessive with the HOS, most of which were reasonably clear. There was no map which I usually like, but in this game it added a little more challenge. The hint button recharged fairly quickly and could be used during the game, directing you to a room where something needed to be done. It was only a picture of the room so you had to remember where it was or move around some until you stumbled onto it..lol A game I will be able to play again.

If you like many, many HOS, this games is for you. As well, the HOS are all the same - pick object symbols from the scene. The scenes are all the same, just the objects change. There were so many HOS, I lost track of the story line. I bought the CE and the same stuff in the bonus game. Won't play this one again. The only thing that got me through this game and the hint refreshed quickly and I had the strategy guide.
Having played the previous 3 "Awakenings", this fourth was very disappointing. The story line lacked substance. I was forced to use the hint button (which was very helpful) more than I would usually because there was no logical next move. Although I dislike too many HOS, a few more in this game would have added some enjoyment. There were far to many mini games and they were repetitive. I probably skipped half of them. I will mark this one "don't bother playing again" on my list of many HOGs.

I just completed DK: An Austrian Sonata and was so sorry it was over. I've played all three Dana Knightstone games and loved them all. This game was great from beginning to end. A good balance of HOS and mini games. I'm not usually a fan of too many HOS but the ones in this game were so enjoyable, I wished there were more. The only disappointment for me were the mini games. I skipped almost half because they were either too redundant (untwist the rope is really stale) or too difficult for me. I read a review that said there was too much moving back and forth. I didn't find that. Actually, I found going back to obtain an object helped me to remember where things were and where places were. I highly recommend this and the other two DK games.
