This is a thoroughly enjoyable game, on a par with Family Portrait from the same series. I like the graphics in Family Portrait more, but this installment is also excellent. Well developed story, beautiful graphics, extended gameplay, good HOs and puzzles. The ominous object in this installment is MIRRORS. Mr Jenkins the cat is your helper, and your goal is to free people trapped behind mirrors.
If you liked Family Portrait, you will enjoy Phantom Reflections, the two best of this series.
I bought this as part of the Ominous Objects bundle sale, and the game does not live up to the greatness of Family Portrait and Phantom Reflections.
For the series, from best to worst #1 Family Portrait #2 Phantom Reflections #3 Lumina Camera #4 something Time (ie forgettable)
In this installment the ominous object is the Lumina Camera which is being held by the villain attempting to capture 100 human souls by taking their photo. Your goal is to stop the villain. Mr jenkins the cat returns as your helper. Game takes place in 1800s Paris. Graphics and VOs are OK, just not spectacular as the 1st 2 installments. The puzzles are harder, but all in all, it's not anything special.
I don't recommend this game.

Ominous Objects: Family Portrait
A father returns home to find his children missing - all but one, who refuses to say a word...
Wow. Wow. Wow. This game has it all. Graphics are stunningly beautiful and in good taste. I LOVE the castle where the story takes place. The storyline and plot is well developed with twists and turns. Special effects are fantastic. Voice overs are appropriate for characters. Even the music is good and fits the story. HOGs are varied, clever, and interesting. Good balance of easy to mildly challenging without being overly difficult. This is a decently long game for SE. A very good value for the money. If there is any imperfection, it's the characters' mouths do not move in sync with the voiceover. But hey, that's nothing when every element of the game is at such a high, superior standard. This is one game I would want to play again just to see the beautiful artwork and special effects. I highly recommend this game. You will not regret it.
I was highly skeptical when reading the summary for this game, but was pleasantly surprised by how well executed this game is. The plot development, level of challenge in HOG and puzzles, and special effects fall short of 5-stars, but overall, all the elements of gameplay are very good.
Most people would enjoy this game, except for Expert level players who would not be very challenged.
The mountain town of Glockenverk is in the grip of a dramatic and deadly cold spell. Set out with your trusty feline friend, Mr. Jenkins, to crack the case!
Is it the best game out there? No Is it the worst game out there? No It's a middle of the road game, best for newbies, preferably bought on sale. Do not buy at full price.
Pedestrian storyline and plot. No wow factor. There are 3 characters and voice overs, but no mouth moving when characters "speak" You have a helper in the form of a cat, but you must find fish hidden in scenes to feed Mr Jenkins before he performs tasks for you. HOGs are not challenging and you can switch to Match-3 instead of using hint if you have trouble finding objects. Many of the HOGs involve finding matching pairs of items that are hidden behind other objects. To unfreeze animals blocking your path to next level you have to find animal emblems that insert into your magic watch and point watch to animal to unfreeze.
Puzzles are not too hard. Standard length gameplay.
This is a good game to pass the time. Advanced and Expert level players will likely be bored by this game.
You can get this game on CDrom. I already owned it and didn't realize it when I purchased as a Catch of the Day. It is a long game, for SE, and there are a lot levels, HOS and mini games before you come to the end. This is a good value for the money if you like long games. It is good in every respect, except the storyline is pretty basic and forgettable--you're going through the motions in order to play the game. A good game, but not outstanding, compared to other games like the Witches Legacy series.
Complete dangerous missions amid dazzling landscapes of prehistoric Earth and alien worlds. Can you complete these thrilling puzzles in order to return home?
Nothing wrong with this game, it doesn't have the bells and whistles with newer HOGs. There is no sound when characters speak--you read (or skip) the dialog. There is a diary that summarizes developments in the story. Storyline is very basic--time travel through Egypt, caveman etc, fix parts of the time machine to move on. The graphics are nice but there is no movement--they are static. The HOS and mini games are varied, but again basic (from when HOGs 1st began), and some are pretty challenging. I already own this game on CD, and bought it as a Catch of the Day. Just goes to prove how non-memorable this game is, that I bought it when I already own it, LOL.
This is my 2nd Witches Legacy and I had so much fun. It seemed like the devs outdid themselves at every turn. It's good enough to be a movie. I didn't want it to end... I am impressed enough that I will be buying the CE versions of this series from now on. Buy it--you will not regret.
You play the mother on the search for her daughter Lynn and hubby, who were abducted by the bad witch at a county fair. Well thought out story, plot, conclusion. Everything about this game is excellent. I will be trying out the other games in this series. The other reviews were very helpful, and on the mark!
I bought the CE because i was so impressed by Lantern of the Souls, but the storyline for the game is not as well developed, fewer HOS, and mini games were way too hard. I didn't even finish the bonus chapter, which is decently long, because the puzzles were too hard, so I lost interest. Maybe when I get better, I can come back and play. Lantern of Souls is a much better value for the money. The morphing objects and extras are thematic and give you interesting trivia about NYC. This cannot be said of Mafia Secrets, where the extra objects to find don't have much relationship to overall story and are just lame and difficult to spot, too.
