This appears to be the 1st installment in the Riddles of Fate series. Your objective is to free Death from Prison, set his daughter Fate free and save humanity from the Wild Hunt of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse from destroying humanity. Tall order, but great fun in the quest.
The storyline is great, graphics not so much (Into Oblivion far superior). It's the usual dark, gloomy and sinister background seen in most HOG.
You have Louis the bat as your helper (retrieving items high up in the room).
You have to use certain tools in order to "see" special items to retrieve for Death or perform certain tasks that get the right item for Death.
It's a fairly elaborate set of tasks achieved on multiple levels to reach the end. The story is complete by itself SE, so not sure what extras are included with the CE version.
This is an outstanding value for an SE game, being a fairly long game to play with lots to do, an engaging storyline, and intriguing protagonist in the form of Death. It's a game I would enjoy playing again. Highly recommend.
I recommend this game!

This is the best installment in the Riddles of Fate series in my opinion.
The graphics are top notch.
HOS aren't terribly plentiful and fairly easy. There are more puzzles than HO, ranging from very easy to tedious to solve. Most tasks are logical but 20% made me go to the blog walkthrough for help (I played Hardcore mode).
This is a decently long game to play with lots to do. The storyline is engaging and there are VO narratives illustrated by a combination of HO, animation, and tasks to make it more interesting instead of just reading a page.
Most of the story takes place in a castle, so you have opulent interiors and attractive cast of helpless victims to rescue.
Unlike a lot of HO games, setting is not dark, spooky and sinister (YAY!)
Parts of storyline has an element of poetry, to boot.
This is a game I would play again. Would I recommend this game--make that a DEFINITE YES!
I recommend this game!

The graphics for the characters, the worlds you travel to, and the hidden objects are outstanding. It reminds me a lot of the mythical grandeur seen in the movie Lord of the Rings part 2.
The mini games are not too hard and relatively few. HOS are primarily fragments of objects hidden right in front of you.
The plot is quite good. It would be better if the story/narrative were movie-like instead of a character standing still while there is voice over while you read the monologue.
I was quite disappointed when the game ended. I wanted to explore more of the places shown on the map. I guess that means I have to buy the CE version.
I would definitely recommend getting the CE in order to visit all places on the map. The graphics are just too beautiful to pass up.
I recommend this game!

I played the SE version thinking I would get a magical, romantic, fairytale twist. The graphics are nice, if you like baroque, elaborate, heavily decorated items. The music is quite varied and reminds me of soundtrack to "Room with a View."
But there is a dark side to well loved fairytale characters Gepetto as well as a tragic side to conventional "evil" characters such as the Evil Godmother.
There are 10 chapters. There are many HOS and relatively few puzzle games. The puzzles aren't too hard. The HOS are above average challenging--items are very well camouflaged with other items, making them hard to spot sometimes.
There is a LOT of going back and forth between different worlds. You collect items early on in 1 chapter but do not use until 2-3 chapters later--a good memory is a must if you play Hard core. There are several spots where you hover your cursor and get a scene, but no action to take, no object to use in that area, ie. many red herrings.
There are morphing items to find, cursed objects to find. You get to dress 4 beautiful Cinderellas and their clothing/accessories are strewn in multiple scenes and chapters. Once each Cinderella is completely dressed, you can hear the story behind each Cinderella.
It's a very elaborate, convoluted set up for developing the plot, learning about each character, with HOS and tasks to accomplish in between.
Overall, a good game. I did not like the red demon eyes used in "evil" characters. In general, I am not crazy about ghoulish special effects. And yes, I am a female.
I would have liked the game more if it didn't have such a ghoulish side. I thought I was getting a light, frothy, fun fairytale and discovered midway that it has a rotten core inside. Judge for yourself.
I recommend this game!

I bought this as a Catch of the Day, despite the negative reviews. As long as you don't expect a long game, you should have fun.The visual elements are very good. There are special effects and voiceovers, so it's like being transported into a movie. No, it is not scary, eery, or horrifying--just a mystery that Nancy Drew would try to solve.
You have Elf the cute chihuaha helping you with tasks. There is a scanner that alerts you to problems and tasks that need to be accomplished in your journey.
The HOs are not plentiful, unfortunately. I disagree with people who don't like piles of junk to go through, because that's why I play the games.
The puzzles are fairly easy, but some are challenging and require some time to solve. I don't know how anyone finished this game in 1 hr. Wow. I had to skip some puzzles.
Ignore the negative comments.
This is a decent addition to the series, just wish it were much longer.
I would recommend this game purchased on sale or as a catch of the day.
Has anyone noticed Agent Shade looks a lot like Amber Valletta? The resemblance is striking.
I recommend this game!

I read the negative reviews before purchasing, so had some reservations, but Eipix games tend to be above average and purchased anyway.
It's a really good game! Good plot, straightforward HOs but some items are cleverly hidden and camouflaged, puzzles not too hard.
The story moves along nicely and holds your interest.
I played Hard mode and did pretty good with little help until the last 2-3 chapters where the gripes about "illogic" holds water. I had to use the hint quite a bit because it wasn't clear what the next step should be.
However, all in all, I liked the game and would rate this a buy. You might consider reading the credits--there are lots of tongue-in-cheek humor about the people involved in making the game. It's amazing how many people are involved in bringing a game enjoyed for 4-6 hours.
Well done BFG!
I recommend this game!

Part 3 in the series lacks Achievements in 1&2 and no bonus chapter as in #1. It is a good HOS adventure and the background story is much better developed than in 1&2, but the graphics suck. The characters look like zombies and computer generated, very crudely I might add. Plus it returns to the gloomy, dark, and dreary background as in #1.
It could have been much better if they had made graphics and characters nicer looking and more life-like.
There are a few puzzles that are straight out of 1&2, just the color changed. BUT there are a lot to do to get to the end, so it is a decently long game, especially if you play without sparkles and hints throughout.
I would recommend this game, but only if purchased on sale or as a freebie.
I recommend this game!

I played the entire 3-part series from 1-2-3, so I can say with the benefit playing all 3, I like the 2nd installment the best,
The graphics, characters, voiceovers, story line are great. It plays like a movie. Special effects are good.
Good variety of HOs, puzzles. Not too hard. The challenge for me was finding the swords in each scene. Try to look for those 1st if you like collecting achievements.
This is a good fun game. Takes place in a contemporary time period. No dreary, gloomy, haunted places, TG. It is a continuation of Demon Hunter 1, so there will be allusions to what happened in 1st installment, but will not prevent you from completing the adventure if you did not play part 1.
Sadly, no Bonus chapter like Demon Hunter 1, but everything else about this game is good. I would play again, as I enjoyed the graphics.
Two thumbs up!
I recommend this game!

I liked everything about this game except the game's title, which just makes you go "huh?"
The music, voice overs, graphics, story development, and puzzles are good. The lighting effects were phenomenal. Everything about it is top notch.
Would play again just to enjoy the music, ambience, and graphics.
I highly recommend this game.

Woe is me, I bought this game not realizing I already played it and own it on CD. Otherwise, would have given higher rating. Having played it a 2nd time, not sure it's a game I would play over and over again.
The graphics are OK, but not spectacular.
However, I would recommend the game because it has achievements and Bonus chapter, which are typically seen with CE versions, so it's a great value for the money.
The storyline is rather flimsy, but good if you don't like reading dialogue and just want to get on with the adventure and HO aspects of the game. Music is boring.
Does not have a BFG blog walkthrough, but Steam has a nice cheat list for achievements and how to solve puzzles.
I recommend this game!
