There's a lot to like in this game: - artwork is excellent, except for the video cut scenes which are not as sharp and clear as I would like, but the static scenes are very well done. -there are many different scene types & locations to visit, but not a lot of back and forth from scenes visited at the very beginning. The actions are mostly forward - the story centers in Ireland and Irish legends, a nice change -LOTS of puzzles to solve, most are easy - fewer HOPs, many involving finding objects highlighted in a narrative rather than a list - story is quite good, well developed and easy to follow The sleuthing aspect is good, but some actions to take are not always what you expect, or slightly odd.
I very much liked this game, especially all the locations visited. I wish the banshee character looked a little kinder rather than the crazy evil look the devs gave her. This was a near perfect game in terms of quality and value for the money.
This is a well done game with excellent graphics, extraordinarily good looking characters, many puzzles (easy to medium difficulty), HOPs (several are challenging when played without hints), connect-the-dots sleuthing, and easy to follow story. Also features a cute girl puppet who can get into small places and accomplish certain tasks you can't reach.
The story I am not crazy about, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
FINALLY, the devs made the graphics high def, so it was a treat to be immersed in the game.
This might be the 10th game in the series (?), but the story remains compelling and devs have found imaginative ways to extend the series and characters involved.
Special effects are excellent. HOPs and puzzles range from super easy to pain to solve.
Playing on expert mode allows hint & skip, but no helpful messages, which provides a challenge to experienced fishies.
The game is quite long and involves a phoenix feather to allow you to enter new portals, tracing chains to defeat a monster, mixing up potions etc.
The ending is very abrupt and a disappointment, undoubtedly a maneuver to entice you to buy the CE version.
This is an enjoyable game, more so now that graphics are high def and doesn't look dated like the previous games.
I can't remember what the point of the story was, except it has dinosaurs in the background and has a semi-happy ending. If it weren't for the excellent special effects and art work, this game would have tanked. The puzzles and HOPs are not too hard, and a few make you think a bit to solve. The sleuthing aspect is very good, and expert mode allows Hint, but no helpful messages.
If you like dinosaurs, this game might appeal to you. The uninteresting story is a major drawback for me, but is made up by the excellent graphics and sleuthing aspect.
this is a great game! excellent art work, easy to follow story, connect the dots sleuthing, make for fun game. puzzles mostly reasonable with a few more challenging ones. HOPs are varied, but no morphing objects. A great value for the money. Highly recommend
The demo was great, but enjoyment turned to frustration in the latter half of the game. This is a combo match 3 & solitaire game. 100 levels. Goal is to earn gold coins to build the resort (hotel, souvenir shop, balloon shop, janitor's sleeping quarters, etc). There is no time mode. Instead, you are limited by # of moves, so being strategic is important.
Problem is there is no shop to purchase power ups, like most match 3 games. The power ups in the form of bow & arrow, blitz balloon & hammer are available on certain levels, BUT you have to bring the power ups down to the bottom before they can be used AND the maximum number of power ups that can be carried over to another level is 3. Some levels can have 8 blitz balloons, but you either use them or lose all but 3. Some levels really need all the power ups you can manage, but you only have 3 of each and have to replay levels just to acquire the power ups needed to complete some levels. That is what makes this harder than need be.
I would have preferred a shop to purchase power ups. The current set up is a pain.
Music--excellent. Jolly, lively, with Caribbean flavor Artwork--excellent, but also limited to maybe 10 different scenes Story--a little bit of a story with fun dialogue balloons
Other than the rules set for game, this would have been a 5 star game for me.
This is almost a perfect game, except for a few puzzles where instructions didn't make much sense. One example is a puzzle where you move stones to the "pit" but I couldn't figure out which was the "pit". The instructions should have had an overlay indicating which one was the pit, because it wasn't apparent to me.
The puzzles in the middle were harder than the ones that end the game.
HOPs used finding pairs of objects quite a bit, but were not hard.
Besides that, this is an excellent game. Artwork is excellent and high def despite taking place in fog. The story is excellent. Sleuthing is fun.
The game pays tribute to Greek mythology, primarily Prometheus stealing fire from the gods and being banished by Zeus, and you play Prometheus' daughter and must release him.
The artwork is well done, but video cut scenes at beginning and end are blurry, while static scenes for 90% of game are sharp and clear. It should be high def throughout. This will look dated 1-2 yrs from now.
Sleuthing aspect is excellent. HOPs and puzzles are plentiful with some challenging ones thrown in, but mostly easy or straightforward.
Literary fans knowledgeable with Greek mythology will get a kick out of this game, which pays homage to well known mythic figures like Zeus, Athena, Hades, Cerberus, etc. The artwork is beautiful, but the slow moving story or lack of story, voiceovers that aren't in sync with lips moving and characters that speak as slow as a centipede, expert mode that disables all help (including helpful messages), makes for discombobulated sleuthing experience. The puzzles are the type that are vexing to solve most of the time, and HOPs are sparse.
I wanted to like the game based on the theme, but devs made a poor sleuthing experience. Even a minimal tutorial is needed for people who want to play expert mode, as the way they set up the game doesn't give clues for what you need to do to progress.
The game is big on using the magic amulet, which acts as a time portal traveler, as objects to find are present in different time modes (ancient Greece) vs modern times.
If played on normal mode, it's probably a fine game. On expert mode, not so much. Judge for yourself.
This isn't a bad game. It's just not spectacular. It is a classic game and will bore experienced players.
You play a princess who needs to save the kingdom by finding the elements (air, water, fire). In your quest, you need to find keys that allow you to travel to different kingdoms and battling villains holding the elements. You also have to create magic potions (hover potion recipe over purple vial bottom right to learn ingredients to find, then place ingredients over vial to create) to help victims encountered during journey.
A combination of match 3, HOPs and puzzles are played to get items needed.
Not a bad concept. Artwork is beautiful. Story easy to follow. No voiceovers. Moderate special effects. Game is not very long, but enjoyable.
I found the HOPs and puzzles had right amount of challenge. I disliked the match3, which lacked special effects and only power up was shuffle the board. However, you can get Hint & skip with any mode played, including the M3.
