Again, the developers make a smash hit in the Dark Parable Series! This time, we check out the little mermaid & ... I hate spoilers, so I'm going to let you find out for yourself. I do have a sticking point with this game, namely the graphics. I don't think they are up to the standard of the other series games. At one point they were so fuzzy, they almost looked pixelated.
I love that I can set the hint/ reset time myself. That way I can play at my own pace.
The level of challenge is pretty much the same as it is in the other parables. You will need to use the map in order to travel. There are a lot of different locations, & unless you have a photographic mind, the map will make it feasible to figure out where & what to do next.
Voice overs are great. Music loop was nice without being monotonous. With the CE, there are plenty of things to collect (although first time through I missed a good deal of them).
MINI GAMES: There are some that are quite fun to play, others that will take you forever to get through. I found some of them challenging, some of them easy, & some of them ridiculously impossible. There again, it's nice to be able to have the 'skip' button set at your own speed.
There's also a bit of tongue in cheek humor throughout the game - namely a green fish that shows up from time to time; just in case you forgot where you bought this game.
Overall, a definite winner. So sit back & enjoy another Parable. It's well worth the CE price, & I'm sure the SE will be very satisfying as well. AN ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE IN ANY PLAYERS COLLECTION.
I recommend this game!

Wow... what's to like about this game? Nothing! This game is poorly made, poorly executed & the graphics are terrible! I bought this because I was looking for a FROG ( I've played all the others), but this one may turn me off of them forever! The music loop is ok, but it is too short, so it gets monotonous. There are no voice overs. The hint button takes FOREVER to charge. I found myself falling asleep in the first scene! Save your money, folks. It would be better spent on the Flux Family series, the Treasure Seekers or the Crystal Portal series. Stay clear of this one.
I don't recommend this game.

I've played the other Treasure Seekers games, & this one stands up to that standard. This trilogy isn't near as entertaining as the "Crystal Portal" series. I like having to find objects to collect objects. It's a nice change from the typical HOS games. This game is fairly well paced; wished it would have been longer. There are NO voice-overs, so in order to follow the storyline you must read the dialogue. WORD OF WARNING: Even on "casual", the hint recharges very slowly. When I had to use it #granted this game was so simple I rarely had to use it#, I would be on to the next chapter by the time it re-charged. It's the same way for the 'skip' for mini-games. I'd say this is a good game for beginners, with the exception of the hint charge time. Would I recommend this game? Probably, but not for those who have played & are familiar with other HOS games. This game is nothing special, & really wasn't a challenge for me at all. As far as re-play value, you'll have to wait for a year before you play it again because of it's simplicity.
I recommend this game!

I'm still trying to figure out what others saw in this game that I did not. The story line was ok; typical of HOS games. But there was so much negative about this game that it would take me hours to explain them all. I am not one who will skip mini-games, but I skipped most of them. They are not well explained, & if you make a mistake, you have to start all over again. They were also time consuming to the point of out of control. I didn't care for the graphics. They are fuzzy. Since most of this game happens in dream sequences, I guess they figured they didn't have to be really good. The only redeeming factor in this game is that the hint/ skip recharged quickly. I regret getting this game. Rather than an enjoyable afternoon, it soon became tedious, boring & frustrating. I will never buy another "Torment" game! Save your $ on this one, folks.
I don't recommend this game.

It took me a whole day to play this game, & I have to admit, it's one of the best games I've played in quite a while. I LOVE the "League of Light" series, & this one didn't disappoint! The story line is great. I actually believed it was up to me to save the day! Of course, I love the ability to make the hint/ skip button as long or short as you like. The graphics on this game are really good, as well as the voice overs. I can't say that there's anything I didn't like about this game. It's well worth the price, whether you buy the CE or the standard. I hope another one is in the works! So yes, click that "Buy" button, & never worry that you made the wrong choice.
I recommend this game!

This is an incredible game! I would have a hard time thinking of anything I didn't like about this game. Start with the basics: You can set your level of challenge- You can decide how long it takes for your hint/ skip button to charge. That in itself is enough for me to give it a high rating. I like the feeling that I have some control in these games. The graphics are amazing, & the voice-overs are well done. There's a bit of whimsy in this game, as you (the heroine# & most everyone &/or everything you interact with has a Scotch/ Irish accent. The story line is one that will have you guessing. I didn't find it annoying, just curious to see what was coming next. The HOS scenes were well done, if a bit cluttered. But they weren't so small that you needed a magnifying glass to find them. There were also variations on them, which was a nice change-up, & I loved that. The mini-games were great. I've played 300+ HOS, & I found these to be some of the most fun & challenging. There is a map with this one, although I never needed it. It was pretty clear with what was next. I did refer to the journal a few times, & if you love ancient runes, you'll really love this game. The length of the game is awesome! It took most of the evening for me to get through it #much longer than it normally takes me). Overall, I would absolutely recommend this game.

Well, I bought this on a freebie card, & I thought it would be better than it really was. The thing that disappointed me the most was the length. I went thru this game in a couple of hours. The mini-games were so-so. Some presented a good challenge, & others were so poorly described it was impossible to tell what you were supposed to do. I went thru every HO scene & never needed to use the hint. I did use it a couple of times when I wasn't sure where to go, & it charges relatively quick. There is a map, although it only tells you what your objective is. You cannot travel by map. The graphics left a great deal to be desired, especially in the HO's. They are fuzzy, so it was sometimes difficult to find items. I would say that the best part of the game is that it's based on a true story; the worst would have to be the graphics. I would probably not recommend this game to anyone who considers themselves either Intermediate or Expert, because like me, you'd find yourself at the end rather quickly. Much too short for us, folks. But if you're just cutting your teeth on HOS games, this one will be a good starter.
I recommend this game!

This one caught me off guard. I really didn't think that this was one of those games with a lot of re-play value: was I wrong! I hate the reviewers who give long winded "spoiler alerts", so I won't delve into the storyline# The game itself is very entertaining# There are even parts where you go into different 'dimensions' #hope that's not a spoiler## Voice overs are done well# There were only a couple of 'oops' moments in the HO scenes: like "Gym Shoes= Ballet Slippers" #?# but overall, well done. there were plenty of interactive HO's, & the mini games were not so complicated that you felt like giving up in the first 5 seconds. Although I consider myself an expert at these games, I always play on casual, because I want to take my time & enjoy ride. That said, the hint button charges quickly, & the interactive map is a real time saver. There's a lot of going back & forth, so the map is a must. I loved this game! I have over 300 HOS games, & this will certainly be one of my favorites for a long time to come.
I recommend this game!

Ok, diamonds have nothing to do with this game, but I got you to read this, right? I just finished the game. It took the average time to play (in Casual Mode), about 3 hours. This game doesn't have a lot of bells & whistles, but I was always wanting to see what was next. I rarely needed the hint button, but when I did, it recharged in a good amount of time. I would strongly suggest you use the MAP on this one. You do a lot of jumping around, so if you don't want to spend a lot of time ('walk down 3 times) the map is your best bet. The mini games for the most part were good. There were a couple of them that made me fumble & skip, but most were quite fun. Graphics are decent, & the music, sound & voice overs were pleasant as well. This is a great game that's just enough of a challenge to keep your interest, & I'd definitely say Buy It!
I recommend this game!

I played the first fierce tales & liked it, so I didn't hesitate to buy this one. It's kind of a corny story line (a father & son go hunting, son gets hurt, father/doctor does a heart transplant on son using a dog's heart); REALLY? Like I say, kind of corny. I didn't find this one exceptionally difficult. The characters are awful as to the way they are drawn & act, but the voice overs are credible. The music kind of bugged me towards the end, because it's so repetitive, so you may want to turn it down in the options. The HOS were a bit on the blurry side, but that didn't matter much because most items were so easy to see. The mini-games weren't much of a challenge either. I will admit that I skipped a couple of them - not because they were difficult or unsolvable, but because they were tedious. If you make a wrong move, it makes you start all over again. The hint button re-charges fast, as well as the skip button for the mini-games. It has a fantastic interactive map that will take you where you need to be, but WILL NOT show you where you need to be. You've gotta figure that out by yourself, which isn't difficult. Other than that, it was a pretty ok game. I'd probably say yes to a recommendation, because it was enjoyable without taxing my brain & giving me a headache.
I recommend this game!
