I originally bought this for my iPad, & loved it so much I got it for my PC. This game is loads of fun; it is also very challenging. I won't go into the story-line, as I think it's secondary to the game. The challenge of making lines of six (rather than a match three game) can be challenging & fun. I don't know how many times I've played the game through all 100 levels, but it still keeps my interest, & I still find it challenging. It makes you stop & think about what the best move would be, So get this game! it'll be a great game to add to any collection. I'm hoping Hexus II will soon be coming.
Dark shadows are rising, the spirits are restless and Lord Strix is back! Travel to his hidden lair and defeat him once and for all—but hurry; he grows stronger by the minute!

Once again, our heroine finds herself challenging the power of the Strix. This is a great game, although it IS NOT AN HOG. This is totally an adventure game. It's quite long, & can drag in a few places. The challenges are many, & the mini games are really challenging. I would suggest you play the first Strix game before taking this one on. Since it is a continuation, it helps to be familiar with the characters.
The graphics are good; not great, mind you. As I said, the mini-games are challenging - some to the point of frustrating! There's no map, & that bugged me. The hint recharges at a fairly good pace.
The re-play value on this game would be good, as long as you play the first one. It is a technically challenging game, & I would recommend this game to any level player.
This is another 'Phantasmat' series winner. This game captivated me right from the start. For all intent, this could have been a CE. The mini-games were, for the most part, fun & challenging. I found some of them to be enigmatic, & skipped them. Some are quite time consuming, but fun to work on & figure them out. There's a jump-map, which I found very helpful. The hidden object scenes were awesome! It wasn't just the same old, tired lists. There are morphing items, multiple items & a few others. Plus, you never play the same HO scene twice. That, I loved! Excellent voice-overs. And with a story line you could follow without being bored to death with too many details, it makes for an entertaining afternoon! I would highly recommend this game, & hope that there will be new games in the series very soon.
I bought this game only for one reason: It was the $2.99 Deal of the Day. Ugh! This game is awful from the very beginning (I mean the Start Screen)! No voice overs, Lousy Music, & no difficulty levels to choose from. The simplicity of this game is absurd. The story line is weak, to say the least. I will say the graphics were ok, but they certainly do not make up for the entirety of one of the worst games I've ever seen on Big Fish. Don't waste time downloading the demo, & whatever you do, don't waste your $$ on the purchase of this game!
This is another in the Shrouded Tales series, & it's a good one. I will admit, I got lost a couple of times! It's a very deep story line, & gets a bit convoluted at times.
There is a jump-map, which is absolutely necessary for all except the hard-core players. There's tons of jumping around to different scenes. The hint/ skip recharges at a good rate. The mini-games were mainly run of the mill, nothing really new or inventive.
One must remember the 'amulet'. It's the key to this game. You will be constantly using it, or trying to recharge it.
Overall, this is a good straight-forward HOS. I'd recommend it for all levels of gamers. Since there are so many scenes, the re-play value is good, I'd say a couple of times a year.
I'm not a fan of match 3, & this game is a perfect example of why I'm not. This game is tedious & boring. There's also a bit of frustration as well. The game is very slow. There's not a lot of reaction time. You end up doing pretty much the same screen over & over. The graphics are just ok. Perhaps if there was a faster pace, it would be a good game. I'm glad I got this one on sale, because I'd feel ripped off if I'd paid full price for it. Save your $ on this one, folks. There are plenty of great match 3 & Mah Jong games on Big Fish that will keep you better entertained than this one.
This is a fairly new game, & there are things that are different than what we're used to. There's only one choice for gameplay: There are no options like, "Easy, Medium or Hardcore". It is what it is.
It's difficult to remember what the whole story is about. You start out to save your friend, but you don't see her again until the very end of the game as you walk away hand in hand. In fact, I forgot about her completely! You're also saving a queen in a different dimension, you don't have much interaction with her either.
There's a map; I found this to be essential, because there are so many locations as well as different dimensions to deal with. The hint charged within 30 seconds or so. There's also a little helper that can give you a hand once in a while. Voice overs were at a minimum. & there were very few creatures that you interact with,
The hidden object scenes were well done; it was very simple to find the HO items. The mini-games were simple as well. In fact, they were a breeze!
Although I enjoyed this game, I'm not sure I'd want to re-play it anytime soon. With all the jumping around on the map, it became tedious. This isn't a game for an experienced HO gamer. It is simplistic & basic. If you're just joining us, this would be a good game to gain experience with. So I will recommend this game, but not for anyone who is intermediate or advanced.
I wasn't really expecting this game to be much of a challenge, but I found it to be so & enjoyed it very much! I admit that I did get lost a couple of times, & my little helper (Frances Drake) made me feel a bit foolish for it.
The story line to this game is excellent. If you have an interest in the Elizabethan Era or not, this game will keep you anxious to find out what happens next.
There are 3 different modes of game play, or there is the custom mode where you can set it as you wish.
The graphics are good; not as sharp as I'd like, but they are clear enough.
The HO's are varied; most of them are just the same old, but there are some interactive scenes that I really had fun with. This game has a lot of areas, so there is some jumping back & forth. Be sure to look close, or you may miss something!
As far as re-play value, I'm not sure. I think it would become an easy & monotonous game if you play it often. The story line is memorable, so it'll still be in your mind the next time you play it.
Over all, this is a great game. I would highly recommend this game to anyone.
This game has it all: intrigue, intricate plots, colorful characters, morphing objects... the list goes on. I've had this game for years, & it's still one of my favorites. The story line is immersive, & you find yourself trying to figure out what goes on in this crazy, almost living house! It sounds a bit strange, but believe me, it will be very entertaining for you.
Ok, one thing that bugged me: the character of Gabriel. You meet him early on, but for the rest of the game, he sits on the couch smoking & reading. Nope. No help here!
There are areas you wouldn't dream you'd find in a house (a winter scene, a train car), & it all comes together at the end for a very happy & entertaining story. It also leads you into hoping for the next chapter in the story - which is "The Palm of Zoroaster" it too, is a keeper.
Replay value on this game is high. I think I've got the game memorized, but I still love playing it. I would highly recommend this game!
This is the fourth game in the "1000 Door" series, & man, what a massive disappointment! This has none of the great qualities I have come to expect from this series. I even bought the collector's edition because I thought it would be as terrific as the previous games... NOT!
I really don't have anything positive to say about this game. I found the story line to be ridiculous, the characters artificial, the music awful & the graphics below standard. This is definitely one they should have reconsidered before releasing it to Big Fish.
So I will not recommend this game; save your money. I can only hope that if they intend to release any more 1000 doors, it will be better thought out & better put together than this game is.
