This is a great little SE game! It's got lots of puzzles & plenty of HO's. I DO NOT GIVE SPOILER ALERTS IN MY GAME REVIEWS!
First off, you're playing as Aaron, a man who's lost the love of his life; that's all you get.
There is the opportunity to set your own game pace; you can have the hint & skip re-fill as fast as ten seconds. There is a journal & also a jump-map, that can be pretty handy at times.
The graphics are good; not top notch, but the game play was smooth. I didn't encounter any "Pixelating", either.
The HO's are what we've come to expect: LISTS. One or two had a couple of things that were interactive (i.e. move a leaf, find an item). I had no problem with any of them, & played the entire game without using the Hint.
The mini-games were varied; some very much the same, but there were a few in there that were slightly challenging. Some took a while to solve, so if you have patience, you can do them.
Overall, this game was a fun one to play on a rainy afternoon. However, if you consider yourself a Pro, or you want more of a challenge, I would suggest getting the Collector's Edition, one with more bells & whistles. This one is perfect for someone who's just starting out playing these games to intermediate players.
Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

This is an amazing game! Sometimes you get a game, & it'll say, "Warning: psychological thriller", I shrug my shoulders, go on & play the game without much more thought. This game, however, shook me & spooked me! This is a thriller, & there's some blood & gore you have to get past as well. Lots of people die, & you're trying not to be next. No more, I HATE SPOILER ALERTS!
You can set your own difficulty in this game, which give the player some added flexibility. There's also a very good jump map.
The Hidden Object scenes were varied; some just lists, others were a bit trickier. You have to have a lot of patience with this game, as some of the HO's are moving sliders to make objects match up. This can be very difficult. There were also a couple of HO scenes where the graphics just were't clear enough to make out some of the well hidden items.
Most of the mini-games were repetitive. There were a few others, & they were rather simple to complete.
If I have a gripe about the game, it's the mechanics in it. I felt that the game pace was very slow & I had to wait for the program to catch up. There were pauses after making access to the next scene; there were pauses as the mini-games loaded. I know it's not my computer; I have over 300 Big Fish games, & my little buddy & I have played them all.
I would HIGHLY recommend this game, but there is a spook about this game that may turn some players away. It can be quite scary & morbid in places; if you can't stand the sight of blood, don't get this game. This SE is so good, I can't even imagine how amazing the CE would be. I may just have to try & find out. Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

Got this one as a freebie, & I'm happy to say that it was a pure delight to play. The story line is kind of vague in the beginning, but it's not long before you realize that the entire kingdom is counting on you to find out who the madman in the mask is. There's also a bit of confusion, because you don't know who to trust: your father or the kind alchemist who raised you after your parents mysteriously vanish.
The graphics are very well done, with quite a bit of detail. I had no pixel problems, the screen was always very clear in detail & color.
There's a jump map, but you really don't need it, as you only use two or three locations at a time. You can also customize how you want to play: casual, medium, hard core or customize to your own settings. That's always a plus for me in games.
The HO games were pretty standard, & there are a few FROG's in there as well. None of them were difficult or had hard to find items.
The mini-games were mainly based on the alchemy potions you have to mix. This got very monotonous & boring, as it was the same mini-game for every potion you make. They get tougher as the game progresses, but still boring. The other mini-games were rather simplistic & easily solved.
Overall, this was a great way to spend an afternoon. I would highly recommend this to those who are just starting out with HO games, up to intermediate. If you're a pro, I think you'd be better off with the Collector''s Edition on this one. Happy Gaming!

I loved this game from the moment I started playing! It takes place on a stormy weather, tempest raging island with a greedy boatman who doesn't do or give anything for free.
The voice-overs in this game are very well done. The graphics are really good as well, so whenever you're outside, the rain is pouring down.
You can customize your settings for game play (i.e. hint time, skip time).
The HOG's were pretty typical of the Grim Facade series; a few hunt & click, a few find the matching item.
The mini-games were well placed in the game, & you can choose to play in difficult or casual mode. I loved the one where you have to row your boat through a darkened maze!
I felt that there was a good mash-up in them so you don't get stuck doing the same old mini's over again. Some were relatively simple, others a bit more complex.
There is a jump map, which is very handy because there are a lot of scenes & a lot of moving back & forth between them.
The collectibles are very easy to find & collect; you do have to play the bonus game at the end to get them all.
All in all, this is one of the BEST games I've played in a very long time. I'm an old-timer of BF, I have over 300 games, & I'd put this gem right at the top of my list.
I recommend this game!

Spoiler Alert! The Bad Guy Loses!
This was a great, not too challenging game. The graphics are very good, & the voice overs were well done. The game stays at a steady tempo throughout. You are also able to customize your settings, letting the player decide how long before skips & hints recharge, as well as a mis-click penalty (that's for if you're incredibly talented at these games, or if you're dumb enough to try it).
The HOP's were pretty standard, & you play each scene twice. I get bored with that at times, but they mixed up what you had to find fairly well. A great part of this game is "Steam Punk", so take that into consideration before you buy.
There is also the ability to play Match 3 instead of the HOP's. That's usually only available in Collector's Editions, so I really liked that aspect of the game play. Don't be deceived, though. The Match 3 is tougher than you'd expect it to be. I took the time to carefully study the board, & there was only one match 3 on the board.
The Mini-Games were varied; some really simple, some that made you think, & several puzzles as well.
If you love the other Reflection games, you'll love this one as well. I would recommend this game to intermediate to beginners; you Pros out there, get the Collector's Edition.
I recommend this game!

First off, I'm not one of those SPOILERS who tell you all about the game. I'm going to tell you what I did & didn't like about it.
The game grabbed me from the start. There's a jump map, which I absolutely love.
The graphics were poor in this game. It needed to be sharp, especially in the HO scenes.
The HO scenes were varied; lists, silhouettes & clues. The only real downside to the game is in the HO scenes. Some of the items were very dim & hard to see (hence my comment on the graphics). I got a bit frustrated a couple of times, because I had to use the hint just to find something.
The story line is very well put together. no loose ends or holes in the plot.
the mini-games were varied, some really easy, some tough & some that were impossible. What I mean by that is they're really time consuming.
Overall, a great game. It would be good for beginner to intermediate. If you consider yourself an expert, I'd suggest you get the Collector's Edition.
I recommend this game!

Reflections is a great game series & this one doesn't disappoint! I was a bit dismayed though, because I thought it' was a little short. Now, maybe I was just good enough that I breezed right through it, I dob't know. The mini-games were good; some kind of tough, others pretty simple. The HOP's were varied, & I loved that. Not the same old list of things to find. There's also the option to play Match 3 if you'd prefer. Just for kicks, I would play the match 3 sometimes & it definitely made the game more enjoyable. As I said, I think this game is a little short, unless you buy the CE. Then there us a short bonus game that helps prolong the game a bit. Overall, a clean, simple game to play for beginners to intermediates.
I recommend this game!

I'm a big fan of the Labyrinth series, & this one doesn't disappoint. The graphics aren't as clear & crisp as they should be, but the story line flows very well. As usual, you have to save someone before time runs out. The HOP's are varied (item list, silhouette, putting things back) & I really enjoyed that. The mini-games were also good; some harder than others. the BIG plus is that instead of playing the HOP's, you could play Match 3 instead. That's not a common extra in a SE games, so another star just for that feature alone.I think that anyone would enjoy this game, regardless of your skill level. It may be too easy for those "experts", but if you're looking for a nice, casual rainy day game,, this would be a great one. You won't be disappointed.
I recommend this game!

I went in to this game with my eyes wide open, and ended the game with them nearly shut. Sure, there are some wild concepts in this last episode, but there's also a lot of the same old, same old. I have to admit, I got a bit bored in the middle of the game & had to take a break...
The concept follows that of the other "Labyrinth" series; going to mysterious places around the world & ending up in some place that is in desperate need of your help. This time, along with helping other worlds, you also have to rescue the soul of your sister.
The HO's were varied & interesting, nothing too small or so blurry you couldn't make it out. You also have the opportunity to play Match 3 if you prefer. I did about half & half, just to keep my mind in the game.
The mini-games give you an option of casual or hard. Even on some of the casual settings, the games were rather hard. If you aren't a real fan of mini-games, you may want to steer clear of this one, because there's a lot of them. In fact, there are more mini-games than there are Hidden Object scenes.
There are 4 game settings, including 'custom', where you can set your own time limits on hints & skips. The least amount of time they will allow you is 15 seconds, so keep that in mind. There is also a valuable jump-map that shows you where you need to be.
As far as the re-play value is concerned, In my book, it'd be pretty low. I really had to struggle to stay interested in this game. Although there is challenge to the game, it moves slow in some places. If this is the last in the series, it's a huge disappointment. I've loved the Lab series, but they sure finished with a dud.
I don't recommend this game.

This was one of the worst games I've ever played. Since it was one of the Order of the Light Series, I assumed it would be as great as the others - NOT! This game has poor graphics, poor voice overs, & the HO scenes were blurry & full of junk. There are plenty of them, though; so I suppose if you love trying to make out minuscule items in a poor graphics game, you'd like this one...
I have nothing positive to say about this game. I wasn't impressed with the HO's or the mini-games. It's a slow game; it took me a lot longer to finish than usual. On the whole, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME.
I don't recommend this game.
