Overall: Very, very long game, with many easy to complicated mini games and rather rambling storyline. Multiple items for your inventory and underlying concept based on elements. Back and forth to complete tasks, but hint gives you arrow to follow and map will transport you. Good graphic scenes. Hidden object games come in set of two that you must switch between. Sadly this wasn’t a game that I was eager to return to see what happened next.
Graphics: From very good to good Sound: Repetitious Voices: Well done. Uses humans, but not well animated when speaking. Most are attractive, but the monk’s eyes are a little creepy darting back and forth. Hints: Good. They show you the direction where to go, so follow the arrow. Map: Transports you to next task.
Inventory: Sometimes becomes overwhelming with no clue where the item is supposed to go and if you don’t play for a few days, just hit hint or map. Also often you have to try several times to place an item where it belongs, so don’t give up.
Hidden Objects: Good. Clear in beginning and darker towards the end. Then more dark corners and dark HO games appear that are very annoying, so you occasionally have to click blindly. You switch using a clock face between two hidden object scenes and you must get all the items in the second scene for the last object to appear in the first scene.
Mini games: Varied and numerous and some quite different and interesting. Some easy, some complicated. You create elements, food, different projects, I completed several, but since I’m not a mini fan, I skipped many.
Storyline: Concept is interesting and nice scenes, but the logic of finding items lost me, so I just used the hint or the map. The elements are more than simple with combined elements you have to discover, so you need amulets to discover new elements or elemental combinations. Never seem to have a need for them other than discovery.
Map: Click on the check mark to open another map to find your unfinished tasks.
Note: Pumping Station: You need 2 levers as well as the slot decorations to open the door. It only suggests decorations, so wait until you have the 2 levers and both slot decorations to open it. Also, towards the end the hint stopped working, so I just went back to where I had undone tasks and it started working again.
Overall: Very long game, lots of technical and computer equipment, interesting and informative journal. Never quite sure where I needed to go, but with good hints and transport to next task, I just enjoyed the journey. Great character development and logical forward movement with interesting storyline. Fact cards are helpful, informative and educational.
Graphics: Excellent Sound: Good Music: Didn’t have to turn down. Hints: Responded very quickly which I enjoy.
Hidden Object Games: Varied and well done with only a few dark corners. Objects are clear and interesting. Many are match objects to scene vs. words.
Mini Games: Lots of science related. Easy to very complicated or very long process to complete.
Storyline: If you like science, you’ll enjoy this game. It is different and unusual and a nice change from the dark and macabre. You explore a number of interesting scenes and the people are well developed as well. Plot twist and turn and of course you get to save everyone and the world.
Overall: Excellent game, great graphics and entertaining storyline.
Graphics: Excellent with great scenes and design. Sound and music: Pleasant and appropriate for situations. I turned it down low, but didn’t have to mute it. The voices were pleasant and not over-done.
Hints: Excellent, transported you right to the next task. A few tasks took a little looking around, so if you are transported somewhere, take a moment to look around to see if you are supposed to collect an inventory item.
Hidden Object Games: Varied and beautifully created, the scenes are well developed, the items clear and visible except for a few that give you a bit of a challenge. They used forms vs. words, fine 3-4 of the same type, similar pairs and word lists. Variety was entertaining.
Mini Games: Easy to challenging and varied and no repeats of the same thing, so was enjoyable.
Storyline: The continuity was great and the story flowed nicely, there was a lot of back and forth, but that was easily accomplished with the hint and the characters were interesting and well designed. The villain wasn’t over the top and the focus was on the journey and the tasks required to achieve a rescue.
Other: You get a helper in the form of a rascally pirate who has a big ego, but it’s all in fun. I liked the cat purring at the start of the game.
Excellent graphics, HO games with clear objects, mini games easy to somewhat complicated. You are offered an option to change Gamma to lighten or darken which I really like.
Storyline was a change of pace from the usual fairy tale or macabre. The scenes were very well developed and logical and the backstory is explained so you are clear on the “why.”
The game used cards to propel you forward into quite superb and creative scenes. There were numerous mini games leading into HO games, so plenty for everyone.
Only critique is that the game ended abruptly, but the bonus game picks up where the game left off. That said, the bonus game was excellent, but it too ended abruptly. Would have been nice to have a little bit more closure, but then it was a happy ending.
Excellent graphics, HO games and mini games! Overall a 5 game!
The storyline based on the literature of Charles Dickens was very interesting and often the unexpected occurs. I thought it a great change of pace from the macabre and sinister. A book held by the villain transports you to a different literary chapter which was entertaining.
Shadow graphics is a one of the mini-games you play to advance. You have to put people, items and locales in the right order to move on to the next one and it wasn’t difficult but it was unique.
Experiences in HO and mini games are sometimes surprising and very well developed.
The bonus game was well done and just as enjoyable as the rest of the game. This game was a pleasure to work through and fun to see what was around the next corner.
Graphics: Excellent Sound: Music was enjoyable and appropriate for the task. Hints: Transported you right to where you needed to go. Map: Excellent
Hidden Object Games: Based on finding objects from words. A couple obscured objects in a dark corner, numerous holiday oriented objects and clearly presented. Occasionally you have to put two parts together to complete an item.
Mini Games: I even ventured into some and found them a fun challenge but I’m not good at mini games. There are plenty that are challenging enough for those who are mini game fans. Note: one game was frustrating. You must find the second part of a skater to create Tiny Tim’s amulet and place it into a plaque. Then you have to adjust the skater’s arms and legs to fit a preset outline. Well after trying and trying, I went searching for an answer. The left shoulder and arm move separately as does the thigh and leg. So instead of moving as a whole they move independently. So give it a little more tweaking and it will work. I wasn’t the only one who didn’t think outside the box and hope this helps you.
Storyline: What can I say? Old Scrooge gets a new lease on life. Actually very well done and the more I played the game, the more I found myself smiling and enjoying it. Loved all the scenes and toys and the people, the developers did a great job on this one.
Overall: Enjoyable game with excellent graphics and entertaining games.
Special Note: Towards the end there are four little kittens that are absolutely adorable.
Graphics: Very good with some great graphic surprises. Sometimes varies and a few scenes are a little bright, but most scenes are very well done. Sound: Varied and not annoying. Hints: Great but with map and journal you don’t need them often. Map and Journal: Maps direct you to unfinished tasks and journal keeps you updated with previous information. Storyline: Nice use of 4 large paintings that require special keys to enter. When you find a key, you are whisked off to an interesting location with a few unexpected side trips. You often return to the main location, but overall this has been an enjoyable game, relaxing and fun to look forward to where the next journey will take you. Hidden Object Games: There are more than enough items to keep you busy and mostly find by words with a few combine items and open big objects to find more. Some scenes are repeated, but there are more than enough objects to go around. Objects are clear and a few a little more challenging to locate, but if you are a HO fan, you’ll enjoy these. Mini games: Not a fan, but I enjoyed a number of these, and there are fewer than the HO games. Some combine items to make a potion, which is always fun if you like to assemble items. Morphing objects: Keep an eye open for them. Overall the game is well worth the price of a non-collectors game. If you have a free game, use it on this one.

Graphics are excellent with gamma option to lighten or darken scenery. Sometimes the logic and progression was a bit unclear but eventually all is revealed. Good thing the hint transports you to the next location and task! There are adequate HO games with well-defined, clear objects, and yet there are those few objects that are right in front of you that you almost miss! Mostly you discover objects using words, but there are a few duplicates matches or find by item outlines. The mini games are challenging and well done, no repeats, and a few are doable and fun for non mini players like me. Many mini games were a bit difficult, so avid mini gamers will enjoy them. The storyline is sinister as “haunted” implies and extremely bloody and the scenes are macabre and quite gruesome, so I don’t recommend this one for little children. The music was not monotonous, so could turn it down and listen in the background. Superb end game for the finish that had several levels of play and was refreshing as some games just all of a sudden end without good closure.
