Overall: Intro was good. Really liked the dog but he’s trapped in a crystal ball and is rescued near end game. After several journeys the ring learns a number of abilities. The flying one was annoying with flapping wings, but short lived so can be overlooked. Disappointed again to see another game with so many mini games vs. hidden object games. Hints are quick to return and the storyline is enjoyable with diverse locations and tasks. Well done game with interesting characters, a couple dragons and of course a villain. Would have liked more interaction with characters along the way. Nice ending with a simple closure.
Graphics: Exceptional well-developed scenes, clean and worth taking a second look. You travel to a number of different and some even unexpected locations which keeps up the anticipation...where next! Characters are diverse and attractive, that is if a gnome can be attractive, but he was rather cute and really didn't get equal play time. With such great characters it was too bad that they were backups vs. frontrunners in this game.
Sounds: Great.
Music: Can be repetitious at times but most often blends in well with objectives.
Hints: Great. Returns are quick so no sitting around impatiently. Skip is pretty fast too because I usually give mini games a try and by the time I get frustrated the skip is ready to go!
Map: Good.
Hidden Object Games: Excellent spiced up with variety and a few surprises. Objects are clear, easy to see but still a challenge with some little twists on a few scenes, a nice change from all the same.
Mini Games: Way too many of them! Minis ranged from easy to difficult with some issues along the way. A little perfecting would have gone a long ways. Some were confusing but on the most part they were well done. Crosshairs were difficult to line up and a bit annoying, but I have to give the developers kudos for coming up with so many and some different ones. Of course there were the usual ones as well and all should appeal to mini fans.
Overall: Intro great, exceptional cut scenes, especially the ship, good storyline that moves forward vs. back and forth with information revealed as you progress. You get to create objects, formulas, and miscellaneous projects. Artwork becomes less smooth in darker areas, from very well developed to just okay sometimes. Not a long game, but average length. Ending was a bit abrupt for my taste, but there was closure. I would have given a higher rating if some locations weren’t grainy and the ending a bit more involved.
Graphics: Some exceptional, some just good.
Sound: Good.
Music: Good.
Hints: Excellent. A bit slower than some games, but takes you where you need to go.
Hidden Object Game: In some games, object was hidden or very small and difficult to see, but for the most part well done.
Mini Games: Not a fan, but I usually give them a try, but found many of these annoying and frustrating. Good challenge for mini fans out there. Well developed and most exhibit great artwork.
Storyline: Good. Numerous scenes and some interesting and unexpected turns but with constant running back and forth it became trying. Overall the game has merit and the work the developers put into it is worth your time to experience it. Give it a test run or purchase with a free game or discount.
Overall: The lack of the hint transporting you to the next task as well as NO MAP puts the player at a bit of a disadvantage. There should have been one or the other. At least with a map you have the option to use it or venture out on your own discovery.
Graphics: Good to excellent
Sounds: Repetitious music
Hidden Object Games: More mini games than hidden objects with occasional repeat scenes, however there are so many objects so it works out. Most objects are found from a list of words, sometimes you need to combine items. A few objects hidden in dark corner…annoying.
Mini Games: There are lots of them. I mostly skipped them since I cannot connect A to B, better for me to move on, but fans of mini games who like a good challenge will have fun.
Hints: Good, shows you where you need to go but you have to get there on your own. After two days not playing it took me awhile to remember. The primary issue is that most rooms morph into another darker, drearier room and you have to remember which one you need. The hint shows you the room but like I said you are on your own to get there. There is a trolley you take up a hill and a raft you take to another island, so you are going back and forth way too often, and I mean very often!
Map: NONE
I recommend this game!

Dark Dimensions: Somber Song
Townspeople flee as the black smoke covers their town. Can you close the dark dimension, before it's too late?

Long Game. Back and Forth. Interesting Story. Some Glitches.
Overall: Could have been a five rating, except for a few major issues as noted below. Macabre storyline, back and forth way too often, hint arrow annoying when clicked didn't work and had to click several times. If you know you are clicking on the right object it is frustrating if it doesn't work. HO games were also somewhat frustrating when it was necessary to figure out how to connect an item to move forward...lack of clarity. Multiple inventory items without a clue where they went. Abrupt ending left me wondering.
Graphics: Excellent scenes and well developed game.
Sounds Music: Okay. But you would think with a musical theme that superior music would be a primary focus.
HO Games: Multiple objects. Well done scenes. A few objects hard to find, but gives you a good challenge. However, you have to find the corresponding part or you don’t move forward. Hint just takes you back to that item again and many times unclear where or what connects to the second part.
Mini Games: Varied levels. I skipped most all of them. Toward the end part two on the accordion, which looked like a pretty easy game, didn’t light up so skipped.
Inventory: So many items in collection that at first it is confusing and finally annoying. Unclear where they go and have to scroll back and forth too often.
Hints: The hint arrow was very annoying and do watch it. It appears in the center of inventory but it is not indicating use of an inventory object, but to change locations and frequently you have to move the arrow around to get it to function. Back and forth a lot.
Map: Sometimes shows tasks and you can use it to transport but often it just shows where you are, so forced to use the arrow to return where you need to go and that can become time consuming and a bit annoying.
Overall: At the start a book explains the previous storyline so you understand the backstory. Looked forward to where the tasks took me and how the storyline moved forward smoothly. Well- developed graphics with a variety of interesting scenes. One of the most enjoyable games played in a while with a mix of anticipation and curiosity where the journey would take me.
Graphics: Excellent, great color. Very well developed game.
Sound Music: Appropriate for task and scene and often pleasant.
Hint: Excellent took you where you needed to go. Sometime a real challenge guessing the why of some inventory items collected, but the hint took care of any confusion.
Hidden Object Games: Good variety, quick hint return, beautifully crafted scenes and objects Objects easy to see and some force you think how to complete them.
Mini Games: Nicely done. Most are logical and fun. A few more difficult and will be enjoyed by mini game fans.
Morph and puzzle pieces: Collect for achievements.
Overall: Purchased this game after reading the review on the latest edition. I enjoyed how it moved forward with logic, excellent graphics and sound, the use of old tunnels and trains underground with continued interesting and often surprising twists and turns. This is an excellent game and worth every moment of play. The bonus game is equally entertaining and I was sorry to see it end.
Graphics: Excellent
Sounds: Very appropriate to scene and well integrated with tasks. Made you want to see what happened next.
Music: Suspenseful and energizing vs. repetitive and annoying and I never had to turn it down or mute it.
Hints: Returns quickly, moves you to the next task using the map or sends you back a couple moves. Very nicely done and the game moves forward so well that I anticipated the next scene and/or task.
Hidden Object Games: Find objects vs. word lists. You will have to think how to get the next object to open up in many instances, but it is all fun and good entertainment. Of course, you can use the hint option, but if you think and look hard enough you can complete the HOG without using it.
Mini Games: Not a fan but tried to do each of them. I finished several of the easier ones, but skipped the more complicated ones. They range from easy to difficult to time consuming, so you mini game fans will enjoy those and there are a variety of them.
There are objects to collect as well as morphing items to gain achievements. If you miss one, you can check your map to see if you need to return to that location. Some are very difficult to find, but if you scroll around a little hand will alert you to the object. Be sure to find one and/or both in the last scene because you can’t go back to find it when the game is over.
Overall: I rarely give a game a 5 rating! But this one gets a 5 plus! Entertaining game, very well developed with superior artwork and excellent cut scenes as well as appropriate sounds and music. I enjoyed the excellent hidden object games and a few of the easy mini games, passed on the challenging mini games which are varied and all very beautifully designed. The storyline might be a little macabre for some but that isn’t the main focus of the story which I thought was well written and moves forward with logic and purpose. I looked forward to each new task. You must discover each ghost’s special candle to open portals to new primary locations. More fun in store when you have to create objects, potions etc. from plans/formulas. Interesting bonus game where you use little maps to identify buildings to move forward to your next location. An added PLUS, anyone who has a problem seeing small items or small printed text will be extremely pleased with this games development and clarity.
Graphics: Excellent. Very well developed.
Sound: Superior and appropriate to scenes: Raining you hear thunder.
Music: Varied: Never had to turn it down or mute it.
Hints: Excellent. On casual quick response and directional.
Map: Excellent.
Hidden Object Games: Clear objects and great size, some right in front of you but takes a few moments to see, so great fun. Excellent variety that continued to entertain.Find objects based on several sentences. Find x 12. Transport to 2 different HO scenes.
Mini Games: As in most mini game there are various types of game, some easy, some annoying, some difficult. Mini fans will enjoy the more complex ones, but there are enough for everyone’s play style.
Achieves and Collection. Nice size visible collectables and fun achieves.
I recommend this game!

Dark Dimensions: Somber Song Collector's Edition
Townspeople flee as the black smoke covers their town. Can you close the dark dimension, before it’s too late?
Graphics: Excellent scenes and well developed game. Sounds Music: Okay. But with a musical theme could have been more dynamic.
Overall: Would have been a five rating, except for a few major issues as noted. Macabre storyline. Back and forth a lot, hint arrow can be annoying and HO games frustrating trying to figure out how to connect an item so you can move forward. So many inventory items and without a clue where they go. Abrupt ending leaves you wondering.

Inventory: So many items in collection that at first it is confusing and finally annoying. Unclear where they go and have to scroll back and forth too often.
I am giving this a low rating for those people who have a difficult time seeing items or aren't comfortable with middle screen games. This is not the game for you as explained below. Personally, I just prefer full screen games.
Graphics: Excellent except did not utilize a full screen which makes everything smaller.
Sound Music: Nice, but repetitious-muted.
Overall: Does not use full screen so objects are much smaller than in full screen games. Hints typically show you what is in the current location rather than direct you where you need to go. Been to several scenes to find items needed to complete the next task and the hint just shows you what has been completed in the scene or the same thing again. Rather frustrating game lacking clarity and direction. The book shows what you have completed not your next task. No map provided to locations, so unclear where to go or what to do.
This was a free game and I didn’t finish it because it was too hard to see objects, the hints were mostly useless and I only play games that are full screen.
HO Games: Small items, some hard to see. Mini Games: The ones I played were simple, match two items. But, remember I never finished the game.
Graphics: Rather bright with overuse of primary colors. Good scenes and interesting characters.
Sounds Music: Kept low, scene appropriate
Overall: Interesting story, however, scenes have to reload every time, a little annoying for a CE game, and you can’t skip the intro. There is a strategy book, morph objects, collections and achievement points. Keep an eye on the strategy book in case you miss any of those if you are one who likes to complete it all. The story moves forward without making you return multiple times to previous locations, a real positive for me. However, I found that I had to use hint way too often in this game.
Just a couple dark corners in HO games and there are lots, I mean lots of objects and numerous HO games and mini games! This is a long game. Occasionally you have to figure out how to start a HO game, rather unique approach, but to some might be frustrating. The game provides a great variety of games, so a little bit for everyone.
If you love mini-games, you will be very happy here and enjoy a good challenge. For me, I am not fond of maneuvering objects to place in the right spots or maze types mini games that take forever and repeated tries to complete. Skip is my friend.
I would have rated this game higher but didn’t because of repeated reloads, use of the hint option too often, many inventory items unrelated to current content and frustrating mini games.
