When Hector, Demon Hunter for hire, agreed to save a lost tourist from the haunted Museum of Mysticism and Monstrosity, he never imagined that he could be the one in need of saving.
For me, this is all-around fun game, as all the rating factors come together into a five star rating. Always, I prefer the SE games as I am not one for collectibles, awards, etc. My play is casual, as I take time to look around each scene, read the story, and follow the dialogue. I want to be absorbed in what is happening.
Truly, horror is not my genre but I look forward to each game in this series.I think that's because the game execution is so consistent, all the mini-games and HOPS are integrated into the storyline. In any series, it is the storyline to which I pay particular attention. And in this game, there are really good plot twists, and to me, that means excellent pacing.
My review is based upon completed play of the game. As always, try the demo to get the feel of any game.
4Friends is a favorite developer and this second game in the series doesn't disappoint. The storyline is superb, with lots of turns and twists in a three chapter game. To me, the game's length was just right. Admittedly, I play slowly and at a relaxed pace and I was expecting a short game but for me, it wasn't.
I really enjoyed the variety of HOPS and mini-games, which are quite easy and do not distract from the game play. I like that and a good storyline will incorporate both puzzles and hidden objects. Graphics are fine but I do wish the developer would not use the same music always. I had to listen to other music when playing but that's just me.
My review is based upon completed play of the game. As always, try the demo.
Overall, this is a 4.5 game for me. This developer, Boolat Games, has very quickly become a favorite, mainly because of the unique elements they include in HOPS and mini-games. Of course, they include the tried and true found in most hidden object-adventure games but with their storylines, the HOPS and mini-games fit well and are fun. They take us to scenes not always expected.
As well, they tell a rescue adventure storyline (In this case, fantasy) and give it enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. They know how to tell a story so for me their games are an automatic buy.
This review is based upon completed play of the game. My play is casual, relaxed, as I really do look at the scenery around me.
I recommend this game!

Dreampath: Curse of the Swamps
A mystical rain is turning everyone into frogs! It's up to you to find the cause of this wicked weather and save your loved ones.
All of the other reviewers have done a fine job of describing the game but I, too, want to add my thanks to Boolat Games for hours of fun, challenge, and escape to a land where it rains frogs. Believe it or not, it is a lovely place. Truly, this is an excellent game.
As my user name indicates, I like a good story, and this is one keeps you guessing and all the while there are intriguing HOPS and challenging mini-games. The incredibly gorgeous graphics and music complete this really fine game experience. It is a one I will repeat many times. (Side note: I am not one for collectibles so I always buy the SE).

I did enjoy this game, although I had difficulty with the storyline. As others have mentioned (here as well as in Collector's Edition), the premise has such possibility, and there were moments I thought this a great game but they were short lived. Still, it is a good game, fairly true to a 1956 class reunion, with some great plot twists. I like the adventure aspect of this game.
There is some inconsistency in the game play, and I found the puzzle instructions often confusing but that that may be down to me. Eipix puzzles are always involved and often fascinating. There are more HOPs at the end of the game but as I prefer adventure to hidden objects, I liked that. It is a game I will play again.

It may be my skills (or lack of as a player) but I found the storyline inconsistent and the task requirements puzzling at times. There's no storyline I enjoy more than a whodunit but this one ends abruptly; more than once in the game, scenes end illogically or are hurried (again, to me). Yet, it is a whodunit and I did enjoy the adventure aspect of this game. It made me think. My review is really a 3.5 but not an overall 4.
My reviews are based upon completed play of the game.Try the demo, as always. And as I have found, what is a 3.5 game for one player is a solid 5 for another. Enjoy!
Although the game starts a bit slow, stay with it because this turns into a great adventure with one plot twist after another. I didn't want the game to end. It's such well-told story, great arc to the storyline. Well done, 5-BN, always a favorite developer.
The HOPS are among the best I have seen, integrated with the plot, and challenging, sometimes a subplot all their own. The same goes for the puzzles, just enough challenge not to distract from the storyline. Again, so well executed.
I always play in casual mode, taking my time to enjoy the game and explore the plot. All my reviews are based upon completed play of the entire game.
This was my first game in the series, and I chose it based upon the reviews. It's a great game so I align with the higher end of the reviews.
The storyline, while familiar, has enough twists and turns so it really is not quite yet another demon hunter story, and I think that's partly due to the high caliber mini-games and HOPS. They are integral to the pace of the story, rather like sub plots. Very well done. The variety of the HOPS is superb, and I found myself really looking forward to the next HOP. Same for the mini-games.
The game does start slow but it picks up and is well worth the time. The game is quite dark graphically but at the time quite detailed. The map was a necessity for me. Very little dialogue in this game but enough. Looking forward to playing more games in this series.
I play games at the casual level, taking time to look at graphic details, as well I pay attention to dialogue and plot execution. All my reviews are based upon completed play of the game.
This game starts out quite slow and frankly, that was disappointing yet there are some good puzzles. It's the middle of the second chapter where the game is really solid in all aspects --graphics, sound, challenge, and especially storyline--but the last chapter fades again and the game ends rather quickly, not unexpectedly or abruptly, just closes with all aspects of the storyline explained.
There is so much to recommend this series, I think, even though I am not a real fan of magic. One reviewer suggested the developer revamp the series, and I agree.
All my reviews are based upon completed play of the game.
This is my first Dark Parables game and I am delighted it is a series! The storyline is superb, detailed but not boring, and as the title of the series indicates, not your usual parable.
As others have commented, the FROGS are a delight, and I would love to see more of these. My preference is adventure vs hidden object but to me, FROGS fit the storyline more than the usual HOPS.
The graphics are exceptional. Scene after scene, I was struck by the detail and most often, I just stayed in a scene to admire it, searching out more than what I needed for the story. And the music that accompanies the beauty of this game is just as intricate. Indeed, a pleasure to listen to all on its own.
My reviews are based upon completed play of the game; as always, try the demo first.
