I CAN believe the criticism of this game and I think it rightly earns whatever black X's it receives. We have a town which was once a beautiful peaceful place until the seven deadly sins took over. You arrive and must save the town. To me the graphics were ok. I am not very judgmental on graphics because I have played games by Indie developers where the graphics were none too good but the story was great. There is a choice of modes to play in. I needed to shut off the special effects button for a less sluggish jumpy cursor, and even that didn't remedy the situation. I forced myself to play through the entire demo to give the game a fair shake. After 10 minutes, I had had enough. The story is monotonous. So little creativity used with such a good story line. The HOS were incredibly easy, hindered only by poor lighting in some. The puzzles.... well the puzzles I breezed through and those are my weak point. Which, in essence, means they were super easy. The map was useless to me. It showed nothing but the area in which you needed to be. It didn't take into account there were many different locations in that area. The hint button, which really is not needed, will transport you to desired location. There is a task list. No journal. This is a plodding, repetitious, simple HOPA. The characters are unlikeable, the voice overs sound like cartoon voices. The story is one I did not care for at all. The so called "extras" are what has become a standard feature.... a few collectibles, a few morphing objects, and from what I read, a very very short bonus chapter. I won't be buying this as a CE or an SE. I feel no need to rush out and buy CE games to collect a few hidden crowns. I also will not support developers who put out such trash, and I do NOT care if every game before this one was superb (which, IMO, they were NOT). I am also not rushing to fill my punch card with paid game credits so that I'm forced to use the PCC on a Monday to receive any credit for buying games from a company. For those who like the game, Enjoy For me, I shall pass.
This game was referenced in a new game that I loved, so I just had to try it. Yes, it is a hit for all those who love things that go bump in the night. The setting is a dilapidated old house with perfectly detailed graphics based on the setting. The puzzles are fun. The HOS do have a click penalty and some things can be hard to see as they are small, but the game isn't overridden with HOS. The story is what drives this game and that is right up my alley. The game is about 3 hours long for me. I loved it and do highly recommend it to those who like the dark side. If you are looking for bright, loaded with extras, cuddly helpers, fairy tale, cookie cutter type of game, this is not for you. Otherwise, delve in and enjoy

Bravo to Goblinz developers (whom I assume are new). I am totally enjoying this game. You receive a letter in the middle of the night from your sister, from whom you haven't heard from in 10 years. She sends you an address and asks you to go there. You get there and the place is a total abandoned wreck with creepy voodoo dolls all over the place. It's obvious that no one has lived there in ages. So why is your sister calling you to this house? That's what we shall find out. I LOVE the creep factor of this story. I am a very story-driven gamer. If I don't like the story, I'm not going to like the game, no matter how much bling and how many cuddly pets they put into it. This is bare bones spooky. You are in a grungy, dilapidated house. The colors are dingy. The atmosphere is cruddy. However, it matches the story line precisely. The demo was excellent. This is more of an adventure game, with very few HOS and few puzzles (at least in the demo). The HOS are simple as are the puzzles which is fine with me. You do get a journal which keeps track of clues and other information. You get an awesomely creepy hint doll and a jump map which also tells you where tasks are available. There are figures to collect. When you click on these figures, they tell you the story of what has happened and what is going on. The opening cut scene was fantastic. Set in an asylum, very spooky. The game ran glitch free for me (up to this point) and navigation was easy. It's a quiet game with creepy music in some parts. It's been way too long since we've seen a chilling story. I applaud these new developers on taking a different route than the standard fairy tale. SPOILER: This game is part of a trilogy, just to let players know up front there's 2 more installments coming to actually complete this story. This is a definite buy for me.

Here we have another game by one of my favorite developers. They employ such talented artists, it is truly amazing. The graphics, colors, are magnificent. Other reviewers have done a wonderful job reviewing the game mechanics so no need to go into all of that. I played the demo on casual as I like to get a "taste" for the game itself. There is action, suspense, romance, and a missing bride. HOS are few and puzzles were not too easy but not too difficult. Depending on which play mode you choose, that will determine the difficulty of your puzzles. Great idea. You have a nice map that is helpful, a journal with tasks. The hint is useful. This story leans more toward the fairytale genre but with the missing bride and the suspense, I liked it. I usually lean more toward the dark, creepy games. You do get a little kitten helper who is actually not bad. Not too obtrusive and you don't dress him or name him (her?). There are two types of collectibles, and lots of achievements. This was an instant buy for me as I love games by this company. Enjoy
Another chance today for a TM game. Alas, this one also has joined the delete list. The colors and story are great. I will give the game that much. It is almost exactly like Royal Envoy. However, you cannot click ahead. You also must swipe your cursor over the houses to collect rent, over the sawmill to collect wood, etc. If you have more than 1 worker, they cannot both chop trees in the same forest :0 It is very hard to distinguish which tasks are completed and which arent, as far as upgrading houses. And last, but not least, is the big deal breaker. No untimed mode. I don't mind if you don't get your gold stars and you can just keep playing the level. However, to have to start the level again in order to get 1,2,or 3 stars is a no-go. I don't recommend this game.

I get so excited when I see a new TM game. This one, however, was worse than bad. Just horrendous. The graphics, colors, were awful. You basically are sliding your cursor around clearing pop ups. I lasted 15 minutes and that was 14 minutes longer than needed. No buy.
I don't recommend this game.

Farm to Fork
Help the farmers keep their lands and make the valley prosperous once again!
Kind of reminds me of Farm Frenzy, and I never liked those games. You grow wheat, veggies, etc. Have to click on the wheat, click on the dough maker, pack it into the truck, send the truck off to the market, get your profits, etc. Same with the veggies. There's a parrot that comes flying around that you need to click on to stop him from destroying your crops. You have to click on him to form a cage around him. You need to buy certain things to progress to the next level (upgrades) or you cannot progress. There is no untimed or relaxed mode of play. The graphics were good. Cheesy music in the background I like TM games, just not this type. And NO, you are not butchering hogs, etc., for those who are concerned with that. Also the tutorial was non-existent, even though it's easy to figure out on your own. It kind of took away from the game, depersonalized it I suppose. This is a pass for me.

For some reason, this game did not impress me. I do like the story ... boy gets pulled into a tree, taken to another world, mom follows. The graphics and cut scenes were great. The voices, which were few and far apart, were nice. There is no music, only the ambient sounds of frogs and other swamp life. You get a journal which lists your tasks, a map which does transport you which is a great thing for this game because there are quite a few areas to jump to. The map also tells you if you have a task left in a location and if there is a collectible in that location, which is also a good thing because the collectibles are very hard to spot. I came across only 2 or 3 HOS. I did not care for them. They were small. Actually everything in this game was small even though the game filled my wide screen just fine. There are many puzzles which I found to be on the easy side, which must mean they are very very easy :) There are achievements to earn, such as not skipping a puzzle throughout the entire game, or not skipping over the cut scenes. I don't feel it is a CE worthy game. However that's just my opinion. There was just a lack of something in the game itself. Maybe it was the fact that there;'s no music. Perhaps it's because everything seems so small. I'm not sure what it is, but this is a pass for me. I shall give it another look when it comes out as an SE. Enjoy :) I do recommend the game because it will appeal to other players. Also, as an aside, the level of difficulty was nil.
Danse Macabre is an absolutely beautiful game by one of my favorite developers. It does share similarities to other games (I see Phantom of the Opera noted by many reviewers). However, it does have a story all of it's own. The graphics, cut scenes, and music are beautiful. I found the game to be suspenseful and intriguing and I wanted to know what happens next. The HOS were interactive. Puzzles were in the easy to medium range and were very standard for Eipix games. The bonus features are awesome. Especially the making of, where you can see quite an uncanny resemblance of the males in the game to the developers in real life :) Just saying. The game mechanics have been very well described by other reviewers especially Just The Facts and Nilosh so no need to go further into that. I found this enjoyable and entertaining. Absolutely love anything involved with dance and music, so that is an added bonus for me. A certain buy :)
Your grandfather disappeared while searching for Inuits' legendary treasure. Travel to the Arctic to find your missing grandfather and solve the Inuit mystery.
This is a very, very nice game. I love these non-CE games!! You are a doctor who has decided to track down your missing grandfather. He went missing on an expedition to the Arctic regions. So, you hop on a boat with others but apparently they have other plans for you because they knock you over the head and throw you down a ravine You do survive though, and thus your journey begins. There is a very nice opening scene explaining what your grandfather's mission was. Graphics were clear and snowy (sort of looked the same as looking out my window). The HOS are a bit crowded but items are easy to find, some are interactive. There is a choice to play a jigsaw puzzle instead which was just fine with me. Actually, I really liked the puzzles. Minigames were different. They took me some time since puzzles are not my forte. Others may find them to be a piece of cake. I don't believe there was music, but there are the ambient sounds of the wind which is a great match for all that snow. There are achievements, coins to collect to buy things for your penguin who lives in an igloo. This penguin does not accompany you on your journey, or didn't in the demo. There are morphing objects and relics to find. This is quite a different and fun game with a whole bunch of extras included for the price of a SE. I have read that it is a short game, however a fantastic short game is better than a horrendous long one. This one shall be a purchase for me. Enjoy :)
