This is the second Rush for Gold TM game. The first being Rush for Gold: Alaska. It doesn't appear different at all except for the location. It is a mediocre TM game. There's a lot of things going on at different times You have one person you need to send to the fishing hut, one person to dig coal, one to dig goal, some to chop trees, some to gather fruit, and the main girl/guy who chases away the dogs, bears and also checks out the gold deposits. There is a timed mode and untimed mode. You can use your stars you earn to improve your pseudo-town. It was a discombobulated game IMO. Lots of running here and there without making much sense. This is a pass for me.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a beautiful game done in that wonderful Boomzap style. Bright, fairy tale-like colors, elves, dragons, etc. You are off to save your son who was taken by a dragon and now you must go into the dark forest to find him. This game is puzzle and adventure oriented which I enjoy. You do have a map, although I believe it is quite lacking if you are relying on it to get around. No journal that I saw. There are achievements and collectibles. A very Tolkien-esque game if you enjoy that type of thing. I do give the game 5 stars because it is an impeccably done game. However, it is not for me. I lost interest after 10 minutes, but played the entire demo to see if it somehow captured me. I will retry as an SE as sometimes my game likes change. Enjoy :L)

This is my favorite so far in the Dark Dimensions series. The art work and graphics are flawless and the snow makes the scenes appear so bright and lifelike. The storyline is very interesting and pulled me into the story immediately. The HOS are very interactive. The puzzles are fun and story related. I enjoyed the adventure part of this game because it's very non-linear. There are music sheets to collect, a bonus game, and a making of the game section which is really cool. The hint button works quickly if needed and you do get a transportable map if you need it. The map tells you area of interests. This developer puts out very well-done games and this is no exception. I highly recommend. Enjoy :)

I applaud the developer for coming out with an SE that has a great story line and is different than the glut of the usual games we see released here. This is a nicely done game. No, it doesn't have any "bling" included (no map, no journal, nothing), but that is ok. The game ran fine on my computer. You are a reporter who is out to find out what happened to a toy factory that closed down and shut the town down with it. There are many locations to explore, however each location only has one or two things to complete in that area. The hint button is directional if you get lost. There is a lot of back and forth. There are quite a few HOS. Each scene has 3 "mystery" items written in blue. You must click on the blue writing which changes the description of the item to see which item is located in that particular scene. There were jump moments where things popped out of nowhere. I must admit I did jump when she was in the haunted amusement ride. The reporter speaks throughout the entire game. It did not bother me. I'm not sure how long this game is. The demo was fun. Yes, the game has an older feel to it, but I liked it, which surprised me because I usually do NOT like HO heavy games. I suggest you demo and see if it appeals to you. I recommend as long as you do not have technical difficulties with the game.

The opening scenes in this game are outstanding. A very very talented artist was employed making things look artsy and realistic. The graphics are clear and the sound effects are amazing. This is more of an adventure game with plenty of puzzles. Many were very difficult for me. I needed the hint button often for directional help until I got the hang of where the story was going. All artistic renderings are done very precisely and I found that to be a bonus. The very very few HOS were even artistic!! The English was horrendous. There are no voiceovers so you do have a lot of reading to do. At times the English was so poor, I didn't quite understand what point was trying to be made. I am a huge fan of new and small developers and I did enjoy this game. After about 15 minutes into the demo, the game flowed more easily for me. The hint is nice, first time you hit it, it is directional. The 2nd time, it gives you a sentence of what you are looking for. I recommend you try this. Attempt to overlook the grammar because it is a very unique and nicely done game. :)

A wonderful job was done with this game by the developers. You can tell it was well thought out. Very interesting and unique story line, once you get past the obligatory car crash. Alice has been "taken" by a spooky figure in a cape and wakes up in a decrepit hospital with no knowledge of why she's there. There are quite a few HOS in the game, but they are easily identified. Lighting is good. There are many puzzles. I found them medium to difficult, but I am not great at puzzles. You may find them easy. Music, graphics, voice overs are all done very very well. I highly recommend this game. I love games by new developers because usually we get to experience something new and different, which is exactly the case here. Enjoy :)

I loved this game. It's different from others that are churned out. I think the graphics and colors suit the mood of the game. I love the zoom in feature instead of opening and closing a box to examine an item. I love the narration by the "hero", and for those who don't enjoy this, you are able to turn it off. Not many HOS, which is a huge plus for me. Feels more of an adventure game with a purpose instead of constantly stopping at HOS. The puzzles were cute and I found them pretty easy which means they must be very easy The balls of fire or whatever they were that you find to recharge your energy faster were fun to find. There are also hidden pumpkins, some not easy to spot. Love the music and the creepiness of the game. I have no problems with rats. Had a really funny, domestic one as a pet for quite a few years. He'd reach his paw out every morning and shake my hand LOL. But I digress..... I enjoyed the choices you were able to make regarding karmic choice. Gives for good replay value also. I recommend this one. It gets the fifth star for the attempt at doing something different. Enjoy !!!!

I CAN believe the criticism of this game and I think it rightly earns whatever black X's it receives. We have a town which was once a beautiful peaceful place until the seven deadly sins took over. You arrive and must save the town. To me the graphics were ok. I am not very judgmental on graphics because I have played games by Indie developers where the graphics were none too good but the story was great. There is a choice of modes to play in. I needed to shut off the special effects button for a less sluggish jumpy cursor, and even that didn't remedy the situation. I forced myself to play through the entire demo to give the game a fair shake. After 10 minutes, I had had enough. The story is monotonous. So little creativity used with such a good story line. The HOS were incredibly easy, hindered only by poor lighting in some. The puzzles.... well the puzzles I breezed through and those are my weak point. Which, in essence, means they were super easy. The map was useless to me. It showed nothing but the area in which you needed to be. It didn't take into account there were many different locations in that area. The hint button, which really is not needed, will transport you to desired location. There is a task list. No journal. This is a plodding, repetitious, simple HOPA. The characters are unlikeable, the voice overs sound like cartoon voices. The story is one I did not care for at all. The so called "extras" are what has become a standard feature.... a few collectibles, a few morphing objects, and from what I read, a very very short bonus chapter. I won't be buying this as a CE or an SE. I feel no need to rush out and buy CE games to collect a few hidden crowns. I also will not support developers who put out such trash, and I do NOT care if every game before this one was superb (which, IMO, they were NOT). I am also not rushing to fill my punch card with paid game credits so that I'm forced to use the PCC on a Monday to receive any credit for buying games from a company. For those who like the game, Enjoy For me, I shall pass.

This game was referenced in a new game that I loved, so I just had to try it. Yes, it is a hit for all those who love things that go bump in the night. The setting is a dilapidated old house with perfectly detailed graphics based on the setting. The puzzles are fun. The HOS do have a click penalty and some things can be hard to see as they are small, but the game isn't overridden with HOS. The story is what drives this game and that is right up my alley. The game is about 3 hours long for me. I loved it and do highly recommend it to those who like the dark side. If you are looking for bright, loaded with extras, cuddly helpers, fairy tale, cookie cutter type of game, this is not for you. Otherwise, delve in and enjoy

Bravo to Goblinz developers (whom I assume are new). I am totally enjoying this game. You receive a letter in the middle of the night from your sister, from whom you haven't heard from in 10 years. She sends you an address and asks you to go there. You get there and the place is a total abandoned wreck with creepy voodoo dolls all over the place. It's obvious that no one has lived there in ages. So why is your sister calling you to this house? That's what we shall find out. I LOVE the creep factor of this story. I am a very story-driven gamer. If I don't like the story, I'm not going to like the game, no matter how much bling and how many cuddly pets they put into it. This is bare bones spooky. You are in a grungy, dilapidated house. The colors are dingy. The atmosphere is cruddy. However, it matches the story line precisely. The demo was excellent. This is more of an adventure game, with very few HOS and few puzzles (at least in the demo). The HOS are simple as are the puzzles which is fine with me. You do get a journal which keeps track of clues and other information. You get an awesomely creepy hint doll and a jump map which also tells you where tasks are available. There are figures to collect. When you click on these figures, they tell you the story of what has happened and what is going on. The opening cut scene was fantastic. Set in an asylum, very spooky. The game ran glitch free for me (up to this point) and navigation was easy. It's a quiet game with creepy music in some parts. It's been way too long since we've seen a chilling story. I applaud these new developers on taking a different route than the standard fairy tale. SPOILER: This game is part of a trilogy, just to let players know up front there's 2 more installments coming to actually complete this story. This is a definite buy for me.
