Here we have another game by one of my favorite developers. They employ such talented artists, it is truly amazing. The graphics, colors, are magnificent. Other reviewers have done a wonderful job reviewing the game mechanics so no need to go into all of that. I played the demo on casual as I like to get a "taste" for the game itself. There is action, suspense, romance, and a missing bride. HOS are few and puzzles were not too easy but not too difficult. Depending on which play mode you choose, that will determine the difficulty of your puzzles. Great idea. You have a nice map that is helpful, a journal with tasks. The hint is useful. This story leans more toward the fairytale genre but with the missing bride and the suspense, I liked it. I usually lean more toward the dark, creepy games. You do get a little kitten helper who is actually not bad. Not too obtrusive and you don't dress him or name him (her?). There are two types of collectibles, and lots of achievements. This was an instant buy for me as I love games by this company. Enjoy
I recommend this game!

The Dwarfs are going to have to build without me :(
Another chance today for a TM game. Alas, this one also has joined the delete list. The colors and story are great. I will give the game that much. It is almost exactly like Royal Envoy. However, you cannot click ahead. You also must swipe your cursor over the houses to collect rent, over the sawmill to collect wood, etc. If you have more than 1 worker, they cannot both chop trees in the same forest :0 It is very hard to distinguish which tasks are completed and which arent, as far as upgrading houses. And last, but not least, is the big deal breaker. No untimed mode. I don't mind if you don't get your gold stars and you can just keep playing the level. However, to have to start the level again in order to get 1,2,or 3 stars is a no-go. I don't recommend this game.

I get so excited when I see a new TM game. This one, however, was worse than bad. Just horrendous. The graphics, colors, were awful. You basically are sliding your cursor around clearing pop ups. I lasted 15 minutes and that was 14 minutes longer than needed. No buy.
I don't recommend this game.

Kind of reminds me of Farm Frenzy, and I never liked those games. You grow wheat, veggies, etc. Have to click on the wheat, click on the dough maker, pack it into the truck, send the truck off to the market, get your profits, etc. Same with the veggies. There's a parrot that comes flying around that you need to click on to stop him from destroying your crops. You have to click on him to form a cage around him. You need to buy certain things to progress to the next level (upgrades) or you cannot progress. There is no untimed or relaxed mode of play. The graphics were good. Cheesy music in the background I like TM games, just not this type. And NO, you are not butchering hogs, etc., for those who are concerned with that. Also the tutorial was non-existent, even though it's easy to figure out on your own. It kind of took away from the game, depersonalized it I suppose. This is a pass for me.
I don't recommend this game.

For some reason, this game did not impress me. I do like the story ... boy gets pulled into a tree, taken to another world, mom follows. The graphics and cut scenes were great. The voices, which were few and far apart, were nice. There is no music, only the ambient sounds of frogs and other swamp life. You get a journal which lists your tasks, a map which does transport you which is a great thing for this game because there are quite a few areas to jump to. The map also tells you if you have a task left in a location and if there is a collectible in that location, which is also a good thing because the collectibles are very hard to spot. I came across only 2 or 3 HOS. I did not care for them. They were small. Actually everything in this game was small even though the game filled my wide screen just fine. There are many puzzles which I found to be on the easy side, which must mean they are very very easy :) There are achievements to earn, such as not skipping a puzzle throughout the entire game, or not skipping over the cut scenes. I don't feel it is a CE worthy game. However that's just my opinion. There was just a lack of something in the game itself. Maybe it was the fact that there;'s no music. Perhaps it's because everything seems so small. I'm not sure what it is, but this is a pass for me. I shall give it another look when it comes out as an SE. Enjoy :) I do recommend the game because it will appeal to other players. Also, as an aside, the level of difficulty was nil.
I recommend this game!

Danse Macabre is an absolutely beautiful game by one of my favorite developers. It does share similarities to other games (I see Phantom of the Opera noted by many reviewers). However, it does have a story all of it's own. The graphics, cut scenes, and music are beautiful. I found the game to be suspenseful and intriguing and I wanted to know what happens next. The HOS were interactive. Puzzles were in the easy to medium range and were very standard for Eipix games. The bonus features are awesome. Especially the making of, where you can see quite an uncanny resemblance of the males in the game to the developers in real life :) Just saying. The game mechanics have been very well described by other reviewers especially Just The Facts and Nilosh so no need to go further into that. I found this enjoyable and entertaining. Absolutely love anything involved with dance and music, so that is an added bonus for me. A certain buy :)
I recommend this game!

This is a very, very nice game. I love these non-CE games!! You are a doctor who has decided to track down your missing grandfather. He went missing on an expedition to the Arctic regions. So, you hop on a boat with others but apparently they have other plans for you because they knock you over the head and throw you down a ravine You do survive though, and thus your journey begins. There is a very nice opening scene explaining what your grandfather's mission was. Graphics were clear and snowy (sort of looked the same as looking out my window). The HOS are a bit crowded but items are easy to find, some are interactive. There is a choice to play a jigsaw puzzle instead which was just fine with me. Actually, I really liked the puzzles. Minigames were different. They took me some time since puzzles are not my forte. Others may find them to be a piece of cake. I don't believe there was music, but there are the ambient sounds of the wind which is a great match for all that snow. There are achievements, coins to collect to buy things for your penguin who lives in an igloo. This penguin does not accompany you on your journey, or didn't in the demo. There are morphing objects and relics to find. This is quite a different and fun game with a whole bunch of extras included for the price of a SE. I have read that it is a short game, however a fantastic short game is better than a horrendous long one. This one shall be a purchase for me. Enjoy :)

This is a "F2P" sim type game. I'm not familiar with the Archie comics, so I wasn't as keen on the story as others. The band comes back from a tour and finds Rivendale in a shambles. So they must clean up the town and fix things. You are given quests to fulfill. This involved just clicking on, for example, a broken street lamp, and then waiting 29 minutes or however long until the task is complete. You can of course buy power ups (soda, etc) to speed up these tasks. I played the full demo and this just wasn't a game to my liking. The graphics and colors were nice though. :)

I loved the first game in this series, and this one is just as good. This is one of my favorite game developers, not for their larger, more well-known games, but for their lesser known ones. You, the detective, are called to beautiful Roma to investigate a thief who is robbing the rich of their jewels and leaving them incapacitated or worse. The graphics are sharp and vibrant. Muzac is nice. You do get a jump map which you can customize to show where tasks are needed. You also have a journal which is handy. 4 modes of play including custom. I love that feature. The HOS are very interactive. Whereas most games will print interactive items in color on the list, this one lists each item identically so you really don't know which item is an interactive one and which one isn't. The games I came across were fairly simple. You get this very cool gem maker box where, once you find blueprints, can use rays of light to make keys and other items you need. Sadly, you get a ermine helper. I'm not sure if he stays with you the whole game or not. I AM pretty sure he doesn't need to be dressed up. :) It may be because I am very tired, but I found this game difficult. I had to consult the strategy guide during the demo. Oh my !!! The strategy guide included with the game was basic and you could enlarge the photos somewhat. I've never used an in-game strategy guide, always the walk throughs on BFG if needed. I'm hoping there is a walk through soon before I actually play the entire game bc I wasn't very happy with the one provided. I loved the scenery, whatever period it was supposed to be. Things such as that make no difference to me. I highly recommend this great game.

Back in the day I demo'd a few Mystery Trackers games and did not care for them at all. I felt they were very HOS heavy with lots of trekking around for no apparent reason, collecting nonsensical things (as in the 4 Aces). So, when I saw this game, I figured, well ok. I'm here in the middle of a real blizzard, may as well try it. I D/L the original Raincliff first and did not find it too bad. My only complaint was lack of a map. Finished that demo and D/L this one. I actually liked it. It has a great map. I did not see a journal, but you do view the reporter's videos. I did like the frost mode although while demo'ing the game I shut it off. The dog helper could stay or go IMHO. Im not a big fan of them. I believe the snowy setting and the mysteriousness of the game is what appealed to me. The gameplay itself was very easy. The HOS and puzzles were simple. There should also be an option for a match 3 or mahjong instead of playing the HOS. Another thing, albeit minor, was the gong noise when you used the wrong tool on an item. Was annoying. I love all games creepy and other-worldy, so this game agreed with me nicely. I loved the graphics and background windy noises. Very nicely done. Since I do not plan on buying any of the other games offered in the bundle sale, I will wait a CE sale as I definitely loved, loved the toads. I had to LOL at some of them. All in all a great game. I'm very glad I tried it. I'd give it 4.5 stars. Not quite 5 stars for lack of difficulty.
