I really like this series, however, the developers need to spiff it up a bit. Elephant is making their games so short, I feel like I'm just enjoying the game and ... poof... it ends. Thus the 3 stars. I loved the story line and it could have been developed so much further. Good mix of HOS and puzzles. Interesting game play. Way too short. Bonus chapter was super short. I'd recommend the SE and save your money. I will recommend this game, but keep in mind that it's short and doesn't really get into the story before it ends.
I'm not seeing what most reviewers are seeing in this game. Way too much back and forth, even with a great hint system and a jump map. The story is constantly interrupted with a HOS or a puzzle. No explanation as to why they all have masks or why they have a reunion. This is nothing like the original Phantasmat. That game had substance and you were immersed in the game. This one uses pure shock value and that's about all. I did not care for it at all.
I've had this game quite a while and just played it. It is a very very short game. 2-3 hours tops. However, it's a great little SE. It is a whodunit and kept my attention the entire game. Puzzles and HOS are evenly spaced. Not top heavy on either one. Puzzles were pretty easy to medium. I only skipped a few and that's saying something as I do not like puzzles. You do get a custom setting which is nice. If you haven't tried it, grab it with a coupon for that bonus punch. I recommend it highly.
I was really looking forward to the Christmas game by Domini. I do like the games they put out I consider their Christmas game a special occasion game and I expect it to be fantastic. I found this game lacking in every area. It dragged on and on and on without reason. Music was almost non existent. The story line was dull. A doll trying to make her way back to a girl who loves her as a Christmas present but first we must do 1000 inane things. I recently was back in the old Christmas games playing some of them and they were so special and magical. This didn't have that feeling at all. I'm being generous with the 3 star rating because I know a lot of work goes into these games. However, it was not my cup of Christmas.
I'm about half way through the game and I am simply bored with it. This has to be the worst Christmas Story game that Elephant has released. We have goblins and the evil sorceress and it doesn't quite all mesh together. There are so many Christmas themes to explore, and they chose a missing mother. The once a year games (Halloween and Christmas) I expect the best of the best, and I'm simply not seeing it here. I'm finding it tedious. Not to sound like a grinch, but this is not putting me higher in the Christmas spirit category at all.
Not sure about this game. Was very confusing to me. It's really hard to see what you need and what it is you need to do. I think there are just too many things around that need to wait for you to have enough resources. Everything was very small and game play was boring IMO. I'm going to pass on this one. Waiting for a great TM game !
Ok, so I have not played the old MCF games. I do have a few and I had to stop playing the 13th skull because the misclick penalty was driving me crazy! So how can anyone enjoy the MCF games when most of them are references to their older games? This is the 3rd or 4th one in a row where you really needed to have played the older games. Also, way too many ridiculous puzzles. I'm passing until they can come up with some new material that is worthwhile instead of relying on their older games.
I did not know there was a prequel to this game. I suppose I'm lucky. I found this to be an utter mess. The characters reminded me of Lego people running all over the place. Everything was small... and my vision is great. I really dislike TM games where a piece of material that you can't get to yet is numbered. It should just stay circled in red. I played 6 levels on easy. I play these to relax, not to be timed. Each level lasted about 2 minutes, so this would be a pretty short game. This is a no buy for me. Longing for the days of the great TM games.
I really liked this game. After reading the reviews, I was hesitant to try it, but I'm certainly glad I did. I found nothing boring about it. Loved the HOS and gameplay. Graphics were great. Some puzzles I just didn't grasp, but I'm not a puzzle person. I found it unique in its own way. Really liking Nathaniel and his tattoo power, even though it's not used a lot. Would have rated this 5 stars, but saving that for the one day there is an actual 5 star game. Waiting, and waiting....
I always read the reviews to gain insight into different games. I saw all the low reviews for this game and thought, wow, this must be a dud. I liked it, a lot. Unlike others, I didn't find it boring, drab, slow moving, or monotonous. Typical detective story, new series. The second game is a big improvement over this one but sometimes we need time for the characters to develop. I'm not a fan at all of elephant mini games, so I can't comment on them. HOS were standard or find the pairs. Bonus chapter was good. Not very long. Indeed, the entire game was on the short side, which is typical for this developer. You cannot go back and find any collectibles you missed which is a shame. I wish they'd change that. All in all, I liked it and do recommend it.
