Yep, poor Richard Hardstein and his whole, new army will attempt to..."Forge the world in fire and create a new, ideal order!" Enter: Laura and her side-kick helper to the rescue! Of course, we mustn't leave out Mr. Bishop, and oh, no, not those tunnels again! I just completed the entire CE version and must say, I really dug this game and the storyline. I think this is my favorite of the series.
There is one quick scene where I almost jumped out of my seat but there is nothing really spooky about the game--again, it's all about this madman and world domination, and his army of zombies, who will never need to eat or sleep, nor will they ever grow tired! Will wonders ever cease?
Usually in many of the CE games I’ve played, I would either miss some of the morphing objects and get all the other collectibles or vice versa. In this case, I was able to obtain all of the collectibles in the Main Game, and not because it was easy but because I remembered to and took the time to search, plus the map was a great signifier for that.
The flow was much better in this game compared to the others. And speaking of collectibles, there are quite a few: 9 apples; 9 shields; 9 treble clefs; 8 statuettes; 16 collectible cards and 35 morphing objects. Again, bear in mind, there are no left-over collectibles for the Bonus Game.
The map was fantastic; the voiceovers were very good; there wasn’t as much music as in other games but it’s possible I was so engrossed in the game that I didn’t really notice. The graphics were wonderful as usual.
The HOPS were great—interactive, silhouette items, some were tricky but attainable. The mini-games/puzzles were pretty cool. Not particularly hard but more tedious than some. I enjoyed those. Very nice balance of things to do!!
My only gripe with this game and games like this is the logic behind many of the tasks. I’ll use an example from another game I played: I finally get to an apparatus that will take me to safety, but oh, wait, I can’t leave because there’s one item I need elsewhere, so whether there is a good map or not, I must go out of my way to an area way off limits to retrieve the item then trail my way back to the aforementioned apparatus to complete the task to safety. Illogical! Senseless! Another example: Why do I need a piece of shard with a rag around it, (for safety sake), to cut a piece of curtain when there is a pair of scissors in my inventory, which I could have used as well, but was intended for another task. Go figure! But it is what it is!
I’m not sure there is a perfect game out there. I do think all developers need to take heed to the reviewers' comments, though. Logic and rationale are important factors for me, but it is, after all, only a game and nothing more! So for its genre, and for the mere fact that I had fun playing this game, I am giving it a low 5-star! Ironically, this game worked for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride! Devs, super job! You did good!
I highly recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

Though this incredible game was not as challenging, as far as the mini-games and puzzles (if any) were concerned, I loved the ambiance--the graphics were superb. What stood out to me more than the game-play, which very much matters to me were the esthetics, the sound effects, the colors, and on a full screen. The cut scenes are nicely done and the voiceovers are great! A very delightful game thus far!
Your brother owns a nightclub in Havana and would like you to be a part of his musical entourage as a horn man, which you agree to do. In any event your bro gets shot and now you're in the throes of catching the culprit who committed this atrocity and, of course, you, too, are a victim!
I'm two-thirds in to the main game and I'm enjoying myself immensely. I love the storyline, the zombies--well, the zombies are another thing, not as bad looking as those flesh-eating ones we often see in movies and some TV series! Ugh! I'm sure I'll soon find out why they exist, (if you really want to call it that!)
The flow of this game is not outstanding but very good actually. The tasks have rhyme to its reason, and that matters to me. So in that respect, I'm a happy camper!
What really stood out for me were the sounds of the birds chirping, while the sound of cars were passing each other on a faraway highway; at least that's what it sounded like to me. Unobtrusive sounds. And all this amidst a background of palm trees, flourishing plant life, beautiful, exotic flowers. I felt as though I as right there in that one particular scene. Love the sound effects very much!
Another thing I love about what the DEVS did in this game was you must collect 40 diamond-shape figures that happen to be hidden very strategically and where you least expect them to be. Some were easy to find and some were not. But what the DEVS did that I found interesting was for each scene every diamond-shape image you don't locate, on the lower, right-hand corner of your screen is sketched a dimaond in a pale gray or off-white color, and once you find the diamond, it turns blue. So in essence you don't have to wait until you play the Bonus Game to find what you missed. Way to go, DEVS! Very smart!
I love the variety of HOP scenes. There are morphing objects to find and there are collectibles as well. And I often forget about these things but I'm making it a point to remember them.
Mad Head DEVS, great game! You did good! I love this series! I highly recommend this game!

EIPIX devs are masters of the mini-games and puzzles and I loved the fact that many of the tasks themselves had “mini-mini” games within them. It seems order and chaos go hand-in-hand in this game. Although, the names have been changed the story seems familiar. With Myths of the World: Born of Clay and Fire CE version, you will be all over the place with a pretty decent map, good hint button, and the guide if you need it. I haven’t used the guide in so long—in fact, I often forget it’s there, but in one particular case, I had to use it to find out how to complete a puzzle. I had two parts of it accomplished, but the third part was puzzling and rather than skip it, I wanted to know what the strategy was as I didn't feel the instructions to begin with were very clear.
In my opinion, this is one of the most challenging games I have played in a very long time and I’m giving that category a 5+. I am very close to the end of the Main Game and felt the need to give my review while the thoughts are afresh in my mind.
With all its inconsistencies and illogical moments and all the jumping around, somehow it worked for me. It’s like I understand these devs! Many of the tasks had no rhyme to its reason but that's nothing new really. You really have to start thinking like the devs do. I can assure you that you will find at least five puzzles in this game that will stump you.
The flow is okay, could have been better, but I think that’s the method to EIPIX madness! The irrationality of some their tasks, for instance, you accomplish part a task in the library area but need another item to complete it by jumping to the castle across town, didn’t make any sense to me; but again, you have a pretty decent map but it didn’t always show the objectives as it should have, but somehow you’ll know what to do next and where to go. You will have many items in your inventory throughout the game as well.
This is a long game and you will have tons of things to do. And it will test your patience, too! My kind of game actually. For this genre, you can’t a more challenging game. I’m giving it a low-5-star because, thus far, I have not been bored one bit. Perplexed perhaps, but not bored and that’s a good thing for me.
I’m sure when I complete the Bonus Game that I will be able to replay a couple of the puzzles I skipped. But I’m proud of the fact that I spent the time figuring out the others. Normally, I would have moved on but if for any reason, stick it out if you can.
One of my favorite, fun mini-games was navigating through the cemetery by following the clues on the tombstones. Really neat! Another fun thing was finally finding the object, (not one I would have thought of), to break the bars in another, isolated area. Another cool mini-game was positioning the soldiers to match the image. I really enjoy those.
The graphics, on the whole was okay. A lot of work went into the art, no doubt, but I’ve seen better. The music was good; the voiceover were great; the storyline—familiar. Then you have your collectible items like the fire symbols to find, which adds to the intrigue. Also, there are Animal Alchemy symbols to complete, (8 animals/three puzzle pieces for each one), to find. These are not easy to locate throughout the scenes but so far I’ve got most of them. The HOPS are great and varied as usual. There are morphing objects within those which adds to the intrigue. The variety of things to do in this game is amazing!
Not too often during the game will you come across an enchanted area, but when you do, you will need the ‘chalk and powder’ magic to break the enchantment. You can’t really move on otherwise. I’m telling you, it’s all part of the EIPIX madness. That’s why they’re one of my favorite devs. You will definitely get your money’s worth with this game. Trust me. I know there’s different strokes for different folks, but this game will not disappoint. I highly recommend it.

I bought the CE version and am now at the beginning of the Bonus Game. I, for one, really enjoyed the storyline in the Main Game. A fairy tale with an old twist, one might say!
I enjoy reading both the positive and negative reviews because many of the reviewers touch upon matters that make a lot of sense. And whether I agree with them or not, for me, it often comes down to 'am I having fun playing this game' or am I bored to death? I like games that have a rhyme to its reason, great flow, stunning visuals, with a storyline and voiceovers that are exceptional. I categorize games by the DEVS's styles. So for this game, I'm rating it a 4-1/2 stars. Some of the instructions for the puzzles were unclear at times but you will get the gist of it, or you can just skip them if you wish. I try my best not too, except when I've exhausted all my patience!
The DEVS put quite a bit of thought into this game as far I'm concerned. As for storylines in general, I can count on my fingers the number of games that have gotten a 5-star rating for just that. I found this story rather endearing and I really liked it, that is, the Main Game was interesting and held my attention. It seems in the Bonus Game we're going back a few years so as long as the ending makes some kind of sense to me, I'll be happy.
All in all, Living Legends: Bound by Wishes flowed like a charm! I usually play the harder mode and that alone will add to the difficulty causing you to possibly slow down a little bit. But for some reason, I must either be getting better or the games are becoming too easy for me and more than likely it's just that. When it becomes too easy, then we need games with better strategy. So to all DEVS, put your thinking caps on and try not to copy other DEVS styles. Be different!
This was not a fly-by-night game; great game plan, easy flow, and the visuals were stunning to me--slightly cartoonish but stunning, nonetheless. The roses were gorgeous! I loved the intricate artifacts--and putting each one in its place--rings, bracelets, lockets and your more sophisticated items as well.
The puzzles weren't that difficult but tedious. The tasks were more fun to me. There was a great variety of interactive HOS; some were elementary. One of my favorite mini-games was finding the piano keys. Very cool!
I noticed one of the music choices from these DEVS has been used before, but there was one tune in particular that was different and quite lovely; every time I played a hidden object scene that tune would play. A+ for that!
This game won't disappoint. I highly recommend it--try it or buy it!

I think this is one of the better games from the series and I'm rating it a 4-star. I would have given it a 5 but the storyline is your usual ghostly, ritualistic theme--a little too ho-hum for me, but there were enough things to do to keep me interested. The story had a few endearing moments--human and/or spirit interest speaking.
I completed the main and bonus games and the tasks are plentiful. Some of the puzzles and mini-games were rather challenging and unique. Of course, I skipped a couple.
I managed to get all the beyond/morphing objects and most of the collectibles and there are quite of few.to obtain. This is not a short game, and one to be played at your leisure.
The graphics were often too dark in some scenes. The HOS were interesting and there were many of those. What I liked was the cleverness and the flow of this game; so bravo, devs!
Voiceovers were very good; music was good; some of the items in the HOS were small. In one of the hidden object scenes, I thought I picked up a tiara and it ended up being something else. But the cool thing is you can switch to a jigsaw puzzle mode, which I enjoyed from time to time. The jump-to map was fantastic and much needed.
I enjoyed most of the mini-games--one that comes to mind is a shooting gallery of images of wild-life, and as you aim your gun and strike one image a rune may or may not appear but you have to get all of them to appear in order to decipher a code afterward. That took patience on my part but I got it! Very cool!
Lots of good things to do in this game. I encourage you to try it out or buy it! You'll get your money's worth out of it!
I recommend this game!

The word 'maniac' was used numerous times in this storyline and granted some of the tasks seemed illogical, but this SE version wasn't half-bad! I liked the flow of this game very much. Short game but loads of fun things to do.
I'm not a fan of those puzzles or mini-games that require you to move, for instance, items here n' there that will affect the others. Ugh! They try my patience; but I managed to stick it out and complete it. I prefer meatier type of tasks, that sort of thing is old school!
The map was fantastic! The HOS were varied and interactive, and there are some silhouette items as well. I liked finding the morphing items in some of the HOS. Pretty cool!
You will be all over the place but again, the map is great, and, too, you have a good hint button that could be used as a navigator if need be.
The voiceovers were great; the music was not annoying at all. The graphics weren't as crisp and visual as I prefer but the artwork was good, needless to say.
I would have thought that the eye-lens transplant would have been enough for me to see through the mystery of the fog and mist ahead, so why did I need the glasses? I guess it was for mine and Freya's eyes only! By the way, the voiceover for Freya was great! Good scream, too!
And it always amazes me how you will jump through some fascinating hoops to accomplish a task but end up with your basic needs: a gear or a wedge or even a brush! LOL! This game is a good one if you can look past some of the silliness, though. I do recommend it, and it is a great adventure!
I recommend this game!

I completed the SE version which was rather short. The best thing about this game was the flow, which is most important to me. Basically, most storylines are about good vs. evil and/or love gone bad! You know the usual.
The tasks were well thought out so that's a plus for this game. The rest of the game was okay but not great. Good puzzles and mini-games. Lots of silhouette items and interactive HOS. Way too much machinery for my taste, though.
Artwork was okay; lots of machinery, mechanical tentacles and such. Not very exciting! Voiceovers were very good but the lip-syncing was a bit off at times. There was one typo where the sentence read: She was left 'along' in the house. Obviously, the word should have been 'alone.'
Music/sound effects were okay and like most games you can turn it down or mute it, which I did from time to time.
All in all, it was an okay game. I do recommend it.
I recommend this game!

This is the kind of a game to play when you want to just chill and play at your leisure. It's a very long game and there is quite a bit of back n' forth, but you have a pretty decent map to refer to. It's a simple HOG game where you will learn interesting facts, lots of reading material along the way, and loads of hidden object scenes. There's even a walkthrough if you get stuck. I would have preferred full screen mode but I'm managing. I'm 3/4 of the way through with this game.
Admittedly, there are some objects that are hard to find now and then but that's what makes it a tad challenging. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other games but the artwork is lovely and easy on the eyes and quite enjoyable. Well-organized game play, and great voiceovers. Personally, it's a nice change and I really like it. I'm giving it a low 5-star rather than a 4 because of the small items to locate and not being a full-screen. I certainly recommend this game.

I'm nearing the end of this SE game and to be honest, it really doesn't float my boat as it has for the majority of reviewers.
Visually, it's lovely; the artwork is awesome; the music is rather soothing; the voiceovers are great; and it's nice to see cutesy creatures for a change rather than demons and witches and ghosts. Nice change of pace and I'm not disputing that, but for me, having a map that shows where activity is and then to click on any given area more than once required you to wait while the transporter amulet loads, which I found totally unnecessary. What is the point of that? To test our patience? It's bad enough you have to wait for the skip button, (a slap on the hand for skipping a puzzle), to load or unload, that is, if you can't customize that feature. The hint button could also be used as a navigator, when I didn't feel like dealing with the map but that was slow as molasses at times.
Some of the puzzles were challenging and fun; the HOS were so-so. I felt the game started out strong but I'm at the point now where I want this game to end soon. The storyline is rather good--magical, fantasy world.
I do think the developers did a splendid job with this game; special effects, beautiful artwork, sound, storyline, I give those a 4-star; as for the map and the transport amulet--considering the fact that you had to go back n' forth so often and then to have to deal with the loading time of the amulet, well, that's a big thumbs down for me.
However, I do recommend this game because you may love it!

I'll cut to the chase! My review is based on an incomplete CE game while the thought is still fresh in the ol' brain.

The bad is the flow of this game just isn't cutting it for me. I love EIPIX but lately their strategy has been a bit shoddy, to be honest. I don't mean any disrespect in this evaluation and hope the devs realize that. I'm rating this game a low-4 star.
Now correct me if I'm wrong--Isn't it common knowledge that a normal, law-abiding person cannot be compelled to commit murder while under hypnosis? Maybe a serial killer can be persuaded but not a law-abiding person. Now, mind you, I haven't completed the game so I don't know the outcome, whether the character is actually a good person or just plain evil. Well, I shall find out sooner or later!
The artwork is quite exceptional no doubt. The music is wonderful; the HOPS are great and fun, plenty of cool things to do and you get a lot of bang for the buck. The puzzles and mini-games are really good. My favorite puzzle was driving a car through city streets avoiding certain obstacles along the way. That was really different and very cool!.
Some gamers may find it challenging going all over the place and back again, time and time again, (map or no map), accumulating items in your inventory, and wondering when the heck you're going to finally be using them. Then you have a gliitchy map that has been inconsistent in not showing where the active objectives are when you know from memory there are tasks that need to be completed in Scene A, B, or C, then to find that as sophisticated and nicely drawn as the map is that the hint button has become a better navigator than the map itself.
Also, if I pull back a blanket, for instance, I'm expecting that there may be an item underneath said blanket and that I'll be able to use it elsewhere. No such luck! Next scene, same thing; next scene find two or three more items and possibly use two of those in another scene. The flow is just not there for me, folks. It's more of an annoyance than a challenge, to be honest. I don't feel this game warrants a 5-star. But I certainly recommend it.
I recommend this game!
