Mariaglorum developers, great job on this game. I just finished the SE version. It's a short game but loads of fun things to do. The ending leaves the hope of a continuation either in the CE version or in another full game. Don't know.
Good graphics, flow, map. I play in custom mode so I can't say whether I've gotten real good or the game was, indeed, actually short.
In either case, try out the demo. This game is great really. I recommend it.

I just finished the SE version. Not bad for an SE but I have ambivalent feelings about this game. The story was great, voiceovers were real good, but the graphics were muddy; the music was more special effects oriented hardly any music per se, and it played over and over again, whereby I had to mute the sound or adjust the sound bars in the option feature of the game.
I liked the concept of dealing with one's fears but in this game you will have to deal with others' as well. A nice variety of HOS and puzzles which were really good, I thought.
I'm giving this game 3.75 stars. The jump-to map was good. Sometimes when clicking on an item I'd have to do it a couple more times and often had to situate my mouse a certain way before I could retrieve the object. That was a nuisance.
The ambiance was a bit too dreary for my taste and had the mechanics of this game been a bit better I would have given it a higher score. I still recommend this game. Try it out. See for yourselves.
I recommend this game!

A great mix of puzzles, HOS. I just completed the entire CE version. Storyline was great. Graphics were a bit smoky but good.
Well thought out concept but my only gripe is that many of the items I gathered in my inventory remained there far too long for my taste. I'm for getting rid of the clutter where inventories are concerned. So I'm rating this game 4.75 stars
The music was very good and unobtrusive. Voiceovers were great even though one of them sounded more like an announcer! The go-to map was wonderful.
I didn't collect all the flowers or the collectibles because I was engrossed in the game and once again forgot about them. Also, after playing the Bonus Game I had thought I would be able to go back and collect what I missed but this game did not offer this feature. In either case, I highly recommend the game. Good flow except for those minor things I mentioned.
Great job Elephant Games and Big Fish Games.
I recommend this game!

4Friends Game Developers, Bravo! Great job on an innovative, very clever, colorful, intriguing game!
I've given it a 5-star even tho there were some minor aspects of the game that I felt could have been improved upon. A couple of the voiceovers, though very good, spoke much to slow for my taste. You have Toto as your sidekick helper. There is one scene where he gets wet and his panting went on and on and I thought it would never stop and was glad when I solved the puzzle. I didn't want to turn the sound off so I put up with it.
The music was great but some of it sounded very familiar. You have a plethora of tasks to do. I haven't gotten bored once. I'm 3/4 through the main game and can't wait to play the bonus game. I honestly don't feel you will be disappointed at all. I suggest you try it out. Of course it's not your typical Wizard of Oz Storyline in the sense that we know it, but the tasks, hidden objects, and puzzles, and comparing differences side by side pictures by using the goggles, you name it, this game has it including collecting all the coins as well. The goggles will summon you, by the way.
I'm having the time of my life. These developers are truly great. The only minor aspect is upon meeting up with first the Scarecrow, one of the key persons you will be dealing with is Frank, who will give you a map with a puzzle to complete and on the map there are rocks that show a number of moves and a direction of movement. He'll give you two more maps at least in the main game for the Tin Man, and for the Lion. All I wanted to do was take the map and go on my merry way. But you can either play the puzzle or skip it. By the 3rd map, I did just that because of my lack of patience. Other than that, this game truly delivers!
Speaking of maps, you do have a general jump-to map which is quite good. These developers thought of everything. But then again, it's a matter of taste. So see for yourselves. Play the demo.
One of the scripts and/or text in one instance got a big chuckle out of me, which quotes as follows: "Determinate which key fits one of the locks." The word 'Determine' would have sufficed. LOL!
This game can be tedious and it is very thought-provoking but it's not difficult at all. The graphics are awesome. Most of the time I play in Custom Mode. There are various modes.
I'm giving it a 5-star. It is well-deserved. Lots of hard work went into this game and I would play this again down the road. I'm glad I got the CE version, too.
I highly recommend this game!

I completed the entire CE and must say bravo to the developers because they created so many fun and innovative things to do in this game. But thank goodness for the map because as one reviewer pointed out you are all over the place--back n' forth. But that's not to say I didn't like this game. I just don't think it warrants a 5-star. More like 4.35.
I am thrilled that I was able to find every morphing object; all the collectibles as well. Silhouette items instead of the boring and constant hidden objects are preferable to me. Some great and clever puzzles were fun to complete. The game flow was pretty good, although I found myself clicking on items to no avail, but the game moved rather well considering.
The characters were wonderful and voiceovers were great. I loved the graphics, and for the first time I didn't really pay attention to the music only because this game will draw you in due to the wonderful storyline.
In my opinion, this CE game is worth buying and I'm so glad that I did. Yes, I happily recommend it.
I recommend this game!

This is one of the most creative games I've ever played. Full of suspense and fun things to do. Some eerie stuff like making a couple of 'creepy' potions by finding a syringe and poke some poor soul or near dead person. Ugh! But all in all it was a great SE game. I just finished it.
I loved it and highly recommend it. Game flow was fluid! Awesome! A very unusual game, I must say! That's all I have to report! If you need more information, check out the more informative reviews as usual. You've got all the specifics from others. Try it out first and see what you think. Madhead Game Developers, you are great. I give you an A+ in all of the categories!
I recommend this game!

I'm 2/3rds in to this awesome SE version and I must say it's one of the best in the Dark Parables series. The storyline is wonderful, but best of all the graphics are stunning. The music is quite beautiful and EIPIX's organization and/or arrangements of the music, the text, the voiceovers--all the eye-candy, can't beat where they are concerned. These devs are tops in this field! But there is still room for improvement.
EIPIX is one of the best out there and they don't disappoint with the great cut scenes, special effects and their artwork. All those artifacts and items to find in this game are unbelievable but far too many to find. However, these devs truly put their all into this game except for a few things, like the HOPS scenes, whereby, some of the fragments were basically hidden well, and some were not due to the off-color scheme in the scene. Also, I miss the old sound effects whenever you found a fragment but all in all it's okay, but I think they need to improve in that area. I know they're well known for the FROGS but it can get a little boring after a while. The back n' forth business wasn't too bad but I like to move on and not look back!
The map was okay. Nothing really to write home about. However EIPIX has everything in place and are well-organized as far as the map, the hint button, levels of play, your buttons--very well-done.
Another thing is that some items are kept in your inventory for so long you wonder if you missed anything and may find yourself going back to find it when, in fact, there are numerous other items you have to find ahead and the excitement starts to fade for me.
The puzzles/mini-games were very clever but not so hard to figure out. It takes patience and perseverance.
I give this game 4-1/4 stars and definitely recommend it. Why I'm not giving the game a 5-star is because the FROGS need something different and we need more interactive scenes; and collecting piece meal parts over and over again is becoming boring for me. Try the demo and see for yourselves! It's still a great game!
I recommend this game!

I'm nearing the end of the Main Game and I must report that it's a game worth purchasing whether SE or CE, doesn't matter. The graphics are the very best thing about it though. The music is wonderful, as are the voiceovers. The storyline is interesting. I'm at the point now where I'd like the game to end.
I wasn't too crazy about the mechanics of the game...constant clicking on items at times to complete a task, and using some items more than once. I play most of my games on my laptop and a game like this needs to be seen on a big monitor. As I mentioned, the graphics are one of the best I've seen and quite lovely. Kudos to the devs!
What I liked were the mini-games. Some were challenging and some were easy, but different and fun to accomplish.
The hint button is good and so is the jump map but you will be going all over the place. The objects to find were very innovative and the devs need to commended for their hard work.
I definitely recommend this game but am rating it a 4-star.

I am nearing the end of this standard edition and let me tell you it's one long and interesting game. I'm giving this a low five-star rating only because of some of the mechanics in the game. Clicking items more than once to get them to work for one, and some of the items needed to complete a task were not typically what one would use. However, Mad Head Game developers have done it again! They have created an exceptional game.
This is one of the most intriguing games, not the most pleasant storyline, mind you, but it will draw you in--a psychological thriller--uncomfortable at times. The devs put an enormous amount of thought into this game. Bravo!
The HOPS are very unusual and different. One of the HOPS was applying the tile stencil to the objects to form a complete image; well, that took me awhile to accomplish. And there was no skipping on that one! But the mini-games are like no other I've ever encountered. I'm drawn to them and the devs deserve a great big hand for those! The maze alone seemed elementary at first, but it took some work on my part to reach the end. You need patience.
The storyline, which, as in most games, requires you to save someone. No surprise here! And there's always those beastly monsters you must conquer. Just pick a card, folks, to find out how to get rid of them.
The voiceovers, graphics, and music are fantastic. The map, hint button, and journal are very excellent tools. I'm glad I bought the SE version regardless of all the whistles and bells you may happen to get in a CE.
I highly recommend this game if just for the intrigue! In my opinion, there is no hand-holding in this game--that is, depending upon the level you choose. Try out the demo first and see for yourselves, so you can have a small taste of what is in store.
I recommend this game!

I don't think this was a bad game at all, to be honest. It's just okay, in my opinion. I'm more than half-way through this CE version.
The storyline is familiar and the characters are pretty cool. However, you're either burned to a cinder or frozen until you break into pieces. Groan!
The tasks were fast-paced except for the fact that once again, to prolong the game, they require another step and yet another after that. My patience wears thin on those types. Example, I have to find the antidote for the acid that's eating through Conrad's chest. Okay, I took care of the problem. That wasn't the end of it, though. He had yet another problem in that same area that I had to solve. All I want to do is move on with the story. This game does have very good moments, no doubt, but not enough to warrant 5 stars, sorry to say.
The graphics are muted in some places; the music is okay; the voiceovers are very good except for a male's voiceover in one scene that didn't fit the character at all.
I could have sworn I heard profanity. Well, in our reviews, we are not permitted to use any cuss words at all, otherwise the review won't go through. Yet cussing and profanity are allowed in some games. I'm no prude but I don't like God's name taken in vain. I know I'm in the minority here but that concerns me and we should be forewarned about these things.
You have to collect quite a bit of cards and I'm enjoying that, if truth be told. Then you have once again an artifact with powers--ho-hum!
These devs are pretty good though. There is a lot of work involved in this game, which I'm sure is no easy task. So I wish these devs all the best. The mechanics of the game is choppy at times--if these games are beta tested properly, there should be no kinks or glitches whatsoever.
I do recommend this game. It might be right up your alley.
I recommend this game!
