I do not recall having had so much fun. There may be more beautiful games, or with more gripping stories, or more challenging.
But this is one that you enjoy. The hidden object scenes are good fun (specially the one that shows spectral objects). The puzzles are quite good, and narrative flow does not hit any snags.
Another game that takes your breath away. Nice story, with good storytelling techniques, no meandering, and always knowing what to do next (except in a couple of occasions - but that's just me). Nice visuals, and nice flow. Again, if you do not like HOS, you have the option to play Mahjong instead. That's VERY considerate.
Maybe I expect too much, but I found myself bored halfway. Too much assembling of pretty objects that look too much alike, too much rambling, too much stretching a story that could be told more tightly.
Please, Blue Tea, make things less pretty and more interesting.
This is part of the Margrave series, the first being a standard HOG (one of the better ones) and the last two superb adventure games. This one is more like the first. HOS after HOS, and having to replay the same scenes (which can get a bit boring)
The reward is piecing up what happened to the lost ship, from writing left by the crew. It turns into a grim story of greed and murder that grabs at you. It is worth all the HOS to learn it.
When they developed the subsequent games, they kept the gripping narrative but upped the graphics and added orginal gameplay.
In any case, it is good to see more of Edwina Margrave.
This one is a wonderful story, which develops slowly and keeps you guessing to the last. The gameplay is reasonable and does not distract you from the story. The minigames are quite original, and the setting is not only beautiful but also strange.
The mystical Silver Arrow has been stolen from you on the eve of your wedding. Without it, you can’t marry your beloved Prince Philip! Can you track down the arrow in time?
This developer irritates me at times, but its fairy tales are always good. The storyline is always out of such fairy tales,, as are the settings and challenges (fairy tales are always full of challenges).
This is a continuation of previous Spirits of Mystery, only it happens to the grandchild of the previous character. It is only the villain who is the same...
In one word, superb. Wonderful graphics, Nice touches, Great story, nice well developed theme (Must accumulate "good deeds" in order to vanquish evil, including finding parents for the freezing matchgirl), interesting HOS and puzzles, and some nice twists...
It is not so much an adventure with HOS but several HOS connected by a storyline.
Still, all the objects you need to find are connected to the storyline (the person who has information wants a cup of coffee, and you have to find the coffee beans, and then the coffeepot, grind the beans, add water, and boil it). It is not a question of digging through assorted garbage, but for fidning exactly what you need. That makes it a lot more interesting.
This game does not take much thinking. Just sit there, drop the blocks and enjoy the spectacle. It is one of those games, like "Flower Paradise" that can put you in a good mood. Very little pressure, unless you REALLY want to collect gold stars..
This is not so much and adventure game, as a HOG with enough story go forward. The story retells "Alice in Wonderland" which seems a natural for this game. The HOS settings are quite original (try to pick up objects as you see a scene distorted by appearing to fall), You need to manipulate settings (including moving trees) to find objects. It is all "Alice" related as are the minigames.
