Why are World Mosaics so addictive - and one of the top ones in this sort of puzzles?
For one thing they are deceptively simple You fill a couple of rows and columns and think it will be easy, and then you are stuck with rows of 3s, or 2s, 1s, and then you start to sweat. And do not think that because it is 15x15 that it will be easy. You can sweat on those quite easily.
Also, they know how to make the mosaics pretty. Beautiful even when made small. They even have the gall to reproduce famous paintings, and they pull it off.
There is a gloriously silly storyline It involves time travel, Napoleon, death rays, and dinosaurs (but sadly no ninjas).
I do not think I have seen a Western-based game before. Give it points for that. Add that the hidden object scenes not only give you tools to find other items, but also clues towards solving the mystery of who robbed the bank. Add to that the sheriff's badges that you need to find in order to discover who took the gold, and the bad guys that you have to shoot (and get extra hints that way) and this is a game like no other.
The puzzles are easy to solve, the only challenge being how quickly you can do it. Moves that you would hesitate in tougher games here you do without thinking.
I like Mah jong games for the logic challenge they offer. I am sorry for the new development - the golden tiles that you must find to end the game, instead of clearing the board, and the increase in the number of tile pairs. I remember when you only had two of each ahd had to be careful what pair you removed... And more often than not, you failed...
If you like tough puzzles, then this is for you. You may easily be stuck on one puzzle, doing it over and over. There IS a solution. You just have to find it.
And not skipping, nor powerups. Just plain logic.
Now, if you like a nice relaxed game, find something else.
This is an easy relaxed game. The HOS are mixed up with fun puzzles, not too hard, nor too easy. The storyline is fun, and the fact that you can only enter rooms at some times and not others makes it interesting. It is pretty to look at.
There are other games that have beautiful graphics, but never one that made you sit stare and enjoy. Even the HOS are beautiful and restful. You can let yourself slip into a meditative state just by staring at it.
The storyline is a good one, and the minigames quite fun.
Reveal the twisted plan of a deranged magician who has his own Vendetta against the world! And uncover a secretive world of magicians and discover the power they have held and passed down through the centuries!
This is a bit weird at first (some of the uses need thinking a bit) but the setting is beautiful and unusual - same goes for the HOS, and it flows nicely without backtracking. Story is quite original, and has a decent ending.
I was out of sorts when I had to get a new computer and I lost my copy of "Flower Paradise" which I had had for over ten years. Every day I played it, as I found it very restfull. I enjoyed looked at the gardens and the beautiful tiles...
Now this is a great replacement. You get again to build a beautiful garden with the coins you earn playing (and you have to learn when to stop buying and enjoy what you have). The gameplay is different from usual Match3 games as you can only move horizontally, but you can drop things. You get more challenges. Tiles that you cannot use until cleaned, tiles that cannot be moved. Tiles that are not only frozen, but freeze others, and also power-ups. You have different goals each level. There is a timed mode that tests you, but I play the relaxed mode, as I find it very soothing.
