It should have been a tremendous achievement, but the tunnel through the Ridge of Leviathan became the site of a great disaster. What really happened that day?
I really liked this game. I got caught up in the storyline right from the start; this storyline was one of the best in any game that I've played. It's excellent! The graphics are awesome; lots of color, not dark and gloomy like so many games are these days. The animation is outstanding, and the people look like real people, not drawings. Although, I don't mind them drawn. I like them both ways. The HO's are interactive, sometime you have to leave them to find something that you need to finish the HO's, but not a whole lot of objects, just a few. The HO's are not difficult, but well hidden. You also have to collect the flowers that you usually do in the Surface stories. They're not hard to find, and they're not always red. I collected over a hundred, but I think I missed a couple. There's two in each scene. There's a map, and you can jump to the location that you need to go to. The map shows where you've been and where you need to go for action. Having an interactive map is a big deal to me. I can't say much about the music because I turned it off soon after the game started. I tend to turn music down on games unless I really like it and it's not too repetitive, and suits the game. As for other sounds, those are really good, you couldn't ask for better. I liked the characters in the game; they were such that I cared for what happened to them and what would happen to them down the road. There is voice overs, but the lips don't move on the people. That was ok with me. The voices really fit the emotions that the people had. You get where they're coming from, how they're feeling. The mini games were ok, but only a few that were different. I skipped a lot of them. The graphics were very good in the mini games but the plays were mostly the same you see in other games. I didn't skip the new ones. The mini games were why I only gave four stars. Developers really need to come up with new ones. Personally I like the ones that require being put together, like replacing stained glass windows, pictures, etc as you do a jigsaw puzzle. Or painting the colors on a picture; things of that sort. As for the ending, I could hardly wait to see how it would end! I won't give it away, but you won't be disappointed. It had an excellent ending. It didn't leave you hanging, or finishing too quickly; just the kind of ending that I'd like to see more of in other games. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that the game was so long. But that may be because I couldn't wait to see how it ended. lol This game is definitely worth playing, and buying. I'm glad I did.
This game was ok...I read the other comments and almost didn't try it out, but then I've liked other games that didn't get a lot of good comments, so I tried it anyway. Alas, I can only give it three stars. I liked the story line, the graphics were good, the music was ok but I seldom listen to the music in games unless it's exceptional, so I turned it off, but here's the kicker, there's a lot of traveling because it doesn't have an interactive map. That was enough for me. There was a map that showed where you were and where action was needed, but you couldn't jump to that area. Here lately I've bought a lot of good games that have interactive maps, so I was surprised that this one did not. I would have bought this game if not for that. I suggest that you try this game for yourself; like I said, other than the map issue it's an enjoyable game.
Look after and feed fun 3D fish and watch them play and interact with each other as you complete exciting match-3 levels to earn money for decorating your aquarium!
I bought this game, and enjoyed it greatly until it got to the higher levels. I just quit on the 55th level. Instead of opening blocks by making matches next to them you have to get a certain amount of bombs in order to get the object that is supposed to BREAK some of those blocks. Well, it doesn't work that way too much. On this level I have gotten six of those glowing objects and does it break the blocks, or take the chain off the block that is hemmed in by other blocks? No. It kept hitting all the blocks that were already open. This makes for very boring play for me. I'm a match 3 player, and have dozens of those games, and this is the first one that totally turned me off. You click and click to get whatever that glowing object is, and you do it over and over and over until it finally opens a block, then the whole thing starts all over again. These developers have some great games out there, and their Farmscapes game is a match 3 and the format is great. I've played that one four times. But this one? Great colors, great animations, fun building the fish tanks, great sounds, but the layout workings of the game play is no fun when you click and click to get something that's supposed to open blocks, then finally get it, and it doesn't. ..I want to enjoy a game. This one is just irritating to me. Too bad, I was looking forward to playing the whole thing. Can you tell I'm very irritated?? lol
This is a good game. I wasn't sure I'd like it because playing the demo it looked like it was dark and gloomy. But by time the demo was over I decided to buy it afterall. Even though there was a lot of darkness it wasn't hard to see things. Just the right amount of light made it so. The final thing that sold me was the fact that it has an interactive map! YAH! When you go to a different spot on the map it shows you a picture of the scene, and it also shows where there is action to be done, and also shows a blue owl head on the scenes that you've found the owl in, so you know if you missed any or not. It has a good storyline, the HOS are interactive and not hard to find, and the mini games were good, some new and some old with a different twist to them. I enjoyed them and only had to skip two. You collect 34 owls, and the owls are not hard to spot in each scene...they aren't teeny tiny. A couple of times the owls were animated and peeked around at you and you had to wait until they popped out again to click them. That was neat. The hint was good, but I played all the HOS without using one, but used it a few times to point something out in a scene. I really liked the art work, and in the HOS you didn't find modern items like you do in some games...I like it when the items match the time frame of the game. Some of the HOS were shadows of the images you had to find, and you could put your cursor on the shadows and it told what the item was. Those were interesting because you had to find each item to find the next one. I would have liked seeing more of those. It was different. It has a guide, which I only had to check out once. That was because I still had one item I needed at the ending and for some reason it didn't show which scene you still had action in. That threw me a little. I decided to visit each one, starting at the last ones and working my way up,and then ask the hint if anything was in each scene. After doing that, about six scenes later, I finally got in the correct scene, and then the red exclamation mark showed up again showing me where there was action to do?? Did that happen to any of you? I don't know if it was a glitch or what...making you work harder, toward the ending? lol.Thankfully I didn't have to visit every one.I was a little disappointed in the ending. Kind of a let down, which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. I will play this game again. I still have the bonus game to play, so maybe it will make the ending better. I see by the other comments that you guys like this game, too. It's a good one!
Just finished the demo, and I won't be buying this game. It's a straight HOS with puzzles in between, which would be ok, like they were when they first came out. You find objects, plus lost and found objects, and litter. The regular HOS are very tiny and placed in an area that is either very cluttered, or like in a store full of items which makes it very hard searching for the ones you want. You get a shadow image of the lost and found images to find in each scene, and sometimes you can't tell what that image is; putting your cursor on it doesn't tell you what it is. So you find yourself clicking a lot on images that look like it. The puzzles are ok, but I had to skip several because they would take too long and I was only playing the hour demo. Some of the puzzles had so much to do that it would take a LOT of time to finish them. Some are jig-saw puzzles, which were easy for me, then you get a 'find the difference' which you had to find so many that you would be using your demo time up, plus those were very hard...the first six or seven differences were easy enough, and after that you really had to seach for tiny differences. Then there is a match game, and there are WAY too many to find, so that takes a lot of time, too. So long that it would be no fun to do, for me, even if I bought the game. I didn't care for the music, so I turned that off. I wanted to like this game, but it's just not my cup of tea. It's a strain on the eyes; way too tiny objects to find; for me anyway. That doesn't bother some people, so I'd recommend playing the demo. Sorry to be so negative about it, but that's my take on this game. I was looking forward to playing it, and it just didn't pan out.
The Emperor’s son has a mysterious illness. As legendary healer Daiyu, you’re called to the palace to save him, but you end up having to save yourself!
I like this game, it has three modes to play; I played causal. The graphics are very beautiful, including the mini games, and the animations are nicely done. A lot of color; if I had a complaint about this game it would be that all the scenes were night time. I like at least half of a game to have day time when colors are brighter and scenery is more beautiful. However, even though this game has all dark scenes it was not hard to see. The cut scenes took a few seconds to load in, so you got a black screen during the length of that. The HOS were not hard to find, and some were interactive. The mini games were ok, some were fun and new, some were hard. I skipped a couple. I liked that you had to put special items you collected in a bag, kind of a doctor/health bag where you mixed items to make a potion...kind of like a mini lab. The music, I had it on for a short time, then I turned it down, so I can't say much about that except that it matched the theme of the game nicely. The hint is very helpful and it has an interactive map that shows where there is action to do. Having a map with a game is a big deal for me. The story line is good, not the usual type we see in so many HOS games. All in all this is a good game. I didn't give it five stars because I would have liked it better if there were some day time scenes. I get tired of games that are always in the dark, and there are so many of them now. In spite of that, I still bought this game, and enjoyed it very much. I think you'll like it.
I absolutely loved this game, and have already played through it twice. One of the reasons I enjoyed it so much is because it's Match3 instead of HOS. Don't get me wrong, I love HO games of all types, but the HO's in Barn Yarn became rather repitious because you visited the same scenes quite a bit, which was a little boring to me after awhile. So Farmscapes was quite different and I didn't become bored at all. The match3 layout was very well done, large enough so your eyes didn't get strained, and the pieces changed from time to time. You get bombs, dynamite, bee hives, and another that will destroy the surrounding area; they appear on the board instead of off to the side, and you can't place them where ever you want. That worked out well, anyway. There are occasional HO's in this game, but not all that many. I love all the characters in these games, and building the farm was so much fun! I didn't want it to end! It's cool that you can click on the different livestock and see what they do and what kind of noises they make. You have birds flying around, bees buzzing, butterflies, and you can change the crops too, to grow a different kind, anytime you want. I found this out when Joe said he was tired of growing the same crops all the time. lol I hope to see more of these games, as I have them all. Gardenscape 2, Barn Yarn, Mansion Makeover, and now Farmscapes. I've come to really enjoy all the different characters and storylines in all these games. I also hope that there will be more Match3 of them. This game is a LOT of fun, and I'm sure if you liked the others you'll like this one as well.
I own all the farm/garden/mansion games, and I hope there are more coming. I love all the delightful characters. In this game you fix up Joe's old barn, and I must say, by the time I was through it looked better than any barn I've ever seen. The colors are bright and cheerful, and the final goal is Joe's dream of a new tractor. You can play relaxed, or timed and there are enough hints if you need them. Also, if you find a magnet you can use it to help you find what you're looking for, but you have to do it quickly because it doesn't stay around very long. You can also find a lightbulb in some of the scenes and that will show you where several objects are. It only shows them for a few seconds, so it helps if you have a good memory. I'm not sure if there are lightbulbs in every scene, because I didn't find them very often. I must say, though, that I liked Farmscapes better because I liked the match 3 instead of the hidden objects. In Barn Yarn you visit many scenes, but they get repeated a lot. The match3 Farmscapes didn't have that, of course, so it didn't have that problem. After awhile I got a little bored with Barn Yarn for that reason. That's why I didn't give it five stars. Having said that, I still enjoyed it very much, and will play it again sometime, so I do recommend it.
I played the demo first, then waited a few days to buy it so I could see if there would be any discounts over this week-end. I'm glad I waited since there is/was! I took advantage of that and bought two CE games, getting another freebie. This game is enjoyable, the graphics are fantastic, and so are the animations. I liked the way the characters looked, and for once the wicked witch was beautiful instead of looking like an old crone. There were many different characters to meet, and I love the little imp that you take everywhere with you and he does different tasks for you. You play in different modes, and I played in casual. There's an interactive map, and a journal, the HOS are not hard and there's interaction in those, too. I managed to play all the HOS without a hint, so I can't say much about the hint. The hint will point out an area of something you should do, and also show an arrow telling which way to go. I didn't use that too often because the interactive map tells you where there's still action to do and transports you there. Plenty of mini games and I did have to skip a few...I've seen most of those before, and some I'm really getting tired of, so I skipped those, too. You collect puzzle pieces, and morph items, some are hard to find later on in the game. I really can't say much about the music because at some point I turned it off. I usually do. I loved the way they did the ending, I don't want to give it away, but you do something quite different that I've never seen in a game ending before. Interesting! Also, the ending lets you know that the evil witch would be back again eventually. Most of them do come back, so that's no surprise. I will play this game again sometime because I liked it enough to do that. I will say, though, that just once I'd like to see a game that lets you go through a door or open a cupboard, or a chest, without needing a key! The key thing is getting old. Although, in this game the keys were different objects at times, but you still needed it to get in. It would be very refreshing to put the keys to rest! At least some of them. This game has a lot to offer, so I think you'll like it.
I really enjoyed this game. I'm partial to fairy tale style games. The graphics are beautiful, couldn' be better. You can play casual or not, there's a journal, and a interactive MAP! For me, that's great! I like the music, they played the same music on one other game of theirs. It fits the storyline well. The voice overs are good, as are the cutscenes. Great animation in this game, and wonderful art work. It's not all gloom and doom; no night time scenes, and the scenes that were darker were still easy to see...no straining your eyes. The HOS are interactive and you're not overloaded with them. A little cluttered but the objects were easy to find. The puzzles were fun, many of them different from the usual ones in games. You collect coins throughout the game and you get a squirrel friend that you get to name. The hints are good and helpful. All in all, a very good game! I bought it as soon as the demo was over and I finished it tonight. I'll play it again sometime. I still have the bonus game to play so I can't comment on that, but I'm looking forward to playing it next.
