fromDear Elly: your graphics are amazing and all your games have interesting stories, but players are losing interest because the gameplay is becoming far too simplistic. We aren't tired of the genre, we are tired of the boredom!

You know it's going to be a bad day when you wake up and the morning newspaper headlines have the details about your life's accomplishments... and the details of your death! Well, that sucks, let's just hope the paper has plenty of details so you know whether to avoid your morning cup of Joe, or whether you should opt for soap on a rope in the shower, or take a cab instead of driving to work, because you may be joining Anna's dad on a much-undeserved and unwanted vacation!
Helper/Gadget: There are no Gadgets or Helpers in Grim Tales: Heritage unless you consider the fact that Alice helps her mother Anna connect with objects and the fact that Anna time travels as a Gadget/Helper? Normally, daddy Richard's skull would be considered a Helper/Gadget but apparently, he went on vacation which leads me to believe the voice actor wanted too much money or Elephant Games wanted to test the market to see how players would react to a Grim Tales without a Skull...I for one think it's a totally messed-up freak show, but I kind of got used to his sarcastic attitude and totally expect him to deliver the goods!
Morphing Objects/Collectibles: (CE version only) There are 12 Collectibles that are shown in the collectibles section as if they were sections on a map and I was sure this was going to be an extraordinary new feature that unlocked something amazing in each part of the map...I was wrong and sorely disappointed to find that they didn't do anything but show up as a pictured item :( There are 26 Morphing Objects that morph at medium speed but they do morph into a similar object to make it somewhat less obvious...but still too big, and still too fast-morphing to be a challenge, which is what a morphing object is supposed to be! Most of the Zoom Zones have a Jigsaw Puzzle Fragment (46 total) that automatically assembles 4 Screensavers...would it really be that difficult to allow us to assemble the jigsaws for ourselves? Looks like we just have to accept that less is more nowadays?
Hidden Object Scenes: There are only 11 Hidden Object Scenes +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter. There are Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, and Multiples of the same Items. I think they actually put some thought into the HO scenes because the objects were much smaller and blended into the scenery more than usual. There are no alternate games available.
Mini-Games: There are 14 Mini-Games +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter. They did a good job with variety and putting twists on standard games such as Match 3 games or Chess games, I actually like Elephant Games because most of them are mechanical type puzzles where you tinker with fuses, electrical panels, or gauges and they always seem doable and never frustrating.
Bonus Chapter (Collector's Edition version only) There's nothing more special than being carried across the threshold by your husband on your wedding night...unless your family has a long-standing history of a Hatfield-McCoy type feud situation that's so powerful the ghosts of your husband's ancestors won't let you enter the estate! You'll play Maureen Black in this average-length ghost-busting sequel as she tries desperately to mend fences between the dearly departed Egerton & Black family ancestors. There are 8 Scene Locations with 7 Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes. You will search for the remaining 3 Collectibles, 8 Morphing Objects, and 12 Puzzle Fragments which allows you to complete the fourth and final Jigsaw Puzzle Screensaver.
Collector's Edition Extra's 5 Wallpapers, 5 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Jigsaw Fragments Screensavers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 23 Achievements, 13 Replayable Mini-Games, 13 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes (within the Archives Room) 26 Morphing Objects 46 Zoom Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Fragments, 12 Collectible Attractions? 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

Choices/Outcomes: Curioso is the Master of Morbid Obsessive Collections. He traps the souls of those deemed to have an obsessive collective disorder that most would consider morbid. Three of these compulsive collectors are trapped somewhere within Curioso's mansion and as a Detective, you have been sent to investigate the suspicious disappearance of these infamous and wealthy collectors, only to find yourself trapped as well. The only means of escape is to play a twisted game where you decide the Collector's FATE which supposedly influences the outcome of the storyline. At the end of each chapter, you must choose between 3 options, one option is usually to let the collector go, they have learned their lesson kind of deal, the second option is usually a punishment of some sort and the third option is to pass no judgment at all or to basically not make any decision. Again, there is only one strategy guide, the strategy guide doesn't show any alternate spin-offs...if you choose this option your path leads this way...so I have to cry foul on this one folks! It SOUNDS cool, It WOULD HAVE been cool, but I think GrandMa was just creating a lot of fake hype, unfortunately :(
Gadgets/Helpers/Outcome Option: There are no Gadgets or Helpers BUT there is an OUTCOME OPTION! You can opt to play in a Puzzle Heavy Mode, a Hidden Object Scene Heavy Mode, or a 50/50 Equal Mode, but I'm not sure if this is a legitimate feature however because when I look at the Strategy Guide there are still the same amount of mini-games and HO's listed as I actually played...so are they trying to say that IF I chose a 50/50 mode or heavy HO mode versus the heavy puzzle mode, more HO's would magically appear on my strategy guide and fewer mini-game directions would show up? Am I missing something?
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE version only) There are 48 Morphing Collectible Objects, two per scene, and 20 Zoom Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces that allows you to assemble a Jigsaw Puzzle once all pieces have been collected. The Collectible Objects are different in each chapter, in the first chapter, the collectibles are Bird Cages because that is Nancy Everfall's obsession. In chapter two, you will collect knives because that is Raymond Dickens' obsession. In chapter three, you will collect photos because that is Julia Hadley's obsession. In the Bonus Chapter, you will collect scrolls because that is Curioso's obsession. You must find all of the collectibles to unlock the Secret Chapter "Vague Memories" which is a Hidden Object Scene, but if you missed a collectible or jigsaw piece, you can return to the scene by going to the CE "Collectible" tab in the Extra's menu where you can click on any of the collectibles or jigsaws that you missed, to be taken to the scene where you can search for the missed collectible or jigsaw...Thank you Granny...this is how it should be!
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 10 Main Hidden Object Scenes, 1 Zoom Zone Mini-HOP's +3 in the CE Bonus Chapter. (in the More Puzzles Mode) There is an alternate Match 3 game but this is the second worse Match 3 games in HOPA history, (right behind the big D-games) The tiles are round marbles which I actually liked, but there were hardly any matches available, I literally had to stare intently to find a simple Match 3, and there certainly wasn't an opportunity for any match larger than a Match 4! Because there were no large matches, I didn't get any bonuses or power-ups...assuming they were even available, which I highly doubt. So the really cool round and colorful marbles were just kind of pointless and not fun when you can't find the smallest of matches!!! As for the Hidden Object Scenes, they are mostly Interactive List Finds, and once again, GrandMa showed her age towards the end of the game and started repeating the HO scenes which to me is lazy and boring! There were a few different variations, such as, Multiples of the Same Object (6 Fleur-de-Lis or 12 Tags) Listed Objects that were constantly Morphing, Associated Keywords, and Finding & Replacing Objects by scrolling through a picture book.
Mini-Games: There are 10 Mini-Games +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. (in the More Puzzles Option) Some, but not all of the puzzles have an Easy or Hard difficulty mode option available. The mini-games were doable on the first attempt in most cases and for the most part, were fun although they are the usual GrandMa Studios mini-games. Here are some of my favorite games:
1-Arrange flowerpots according to the pictures on the shelves, pots can only be swapped with similar colors or shapes. 2-Press buttons on sides to move clock hands then press the center button to swap the selected numbers to restore the clock face. 3-Catch the thief by blocking all his moves on a honeycomb-shaped grid. 4-Select all knots in the correct sequence according to the number that matches the purple connectors. X3 5-Move the detective to the red spot by selecting a highlighted space to move then place a horizontal bar to block Curioso who uses vertical walls to block the detective.
Bonus Chapter: (CE version only) During a time of political elections in some countries, aka mine, where two parties have drawn deep lines in the sand, this story reminds me that there are always two sides to every story! We tend to be quick to pass judgment, to point fingers, to blame the other person and or side, without really knowing the facts or circumstances. We rarely have our own opinions nowadays, because we never bothered to learn the facts, we just heard what we wanted to hear and we ran with it because it was easier than digging for the actual truth and or facts?? This story reminds me that sometimes you have to stand on the line to see both sides clearly, and the only way to get anything solved is to get more people to stand on that line...think about it! Because in the main story you thought that Curioso was just a sick, twisted individual who loved chaos, but in the bonus chapter, you delve into his heart and soul and learn of his childhood travesties. You'll feel sorry for him, in fact, you may feel angry at the individuals responsible for creating the monster you know him to be! Two sides to every coin? Is the line getting smaller? :) This is an average-length chapter that takes place over 6 Scene Locations with an additional 6 Mini-Games, 3 Hidden Object Scenes IF you chose the More Puzzles Option in the beginning (see above). You will continue collecting the remaining 12 Collectible Objects and the final 2 Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces as well. GrandMa does allow you to return to the scenes to pick up any missed collectibles or Jigsaw Pieces which is required to open the Hidden Chapter entitled Vague Memories which is a Hidden Object Scene.

I have mixed emotions about Potion Master, the fourth game in the Secrets of Magic series. I wasn't crazy about the graphics, the first three games had really colorful graphics and I loved decorating the Haunted House with all the Halloween-themed decorations. In this game, however, the decorations are 3D and kind of awkward looking stuck out in the middle of the forest, and to me, they just look pixelated. Although the icons are theme-related with eyeballs, witches hats, candles, coffins, skulls, and some adorable owls, the colors just seem drab this time around. This is just an observation, and certainly not a deal-breaker, just a bit of a sour-patch kid versus a kit-kat bar lol.
You can play in a Relaxed, Unlimited Moves Mode, a Challenge Mode with Limited Moves, or a Timed Mode. Then you get to choose either a Casual Mode which has fewer obstructions and more power-ups or an Expert Mode which has more obstructions and fewer power-ups. I chose to play in the Limited Moves/Expert Mode initially, but by the time I reached the third level I kept running out of moves, each time I needed about 2 extra moves to remove the last potion ingredient. I switched over to the Limited Moves/Expert Mode and was able to complete the level with ease and have plenty of time left. The problem was that the Limed-Moves Mode was too stingy with the number of moves, but the Limited-Time Mode was way too generous with the time, so one mode was frustrating, the other was kind of boring!?!
The goal is to make a specified amount of matched of each specified tile as shown at the top of the board and clear all gold cells. Clearing Gold cells are worth 50 gold coins, which is used to purchase twenty 3D Halloween Decorations. Gold Some levels require collecting Potion Ingredients by dropping them off of the board, and some levels have a Key you must drop off of the board, that will unlock the hidden part of the Match 3 board. I found it easier to meet the goal requirements by going after the key as soon as possible.
Power-up Boosters are unlocked as you progress and must recharge after each use. The Wand will destroy a chosen Tile, the Hammer will destroy a chosen Obstacle, the Whirlwind reshuffles the board, and the Lightning destroys all of the same types of Tile. Large Matches will earn a Bonus Power-up on the board, they can be swapped or double-clicked to detonate and they do not count as a move on the Limited-Moves Mode.
*Potion (Match 4) destroys a 2-tile radius diagonally. *Pumpkin Bomb (Match 5) destroys a 3-tile radius in either direction. *Rocket (Match 5 Row/Column) massive explosion.
There are several Obstacles added as you progress as well, but nothing new or out of the ordinary to give it the "wow" factor.
*Crates: requires an adjacent match to destroy. *Chains: requires a match 3 of whichever tile is chained. *Stones: requires two adjacent matches to destroy. *Ice Cubes: requires a match 3 of whichever tile is encased in ice. *Metal Tile: requires 3 adjacent matches to destroy. *Big Rock: each piece requires 2 adjacent matches to break.
Yes, it's a cute, Halloween-themed Match 3 game that is certainly worthy of the price or using a PCC, however, when comparing it to the other 3 games in THIS particular series, I don't think it was as colorful or as fun as its predecessors.

First, there was one and that was really fun. Then they kept coming, they hit the ground running. By the time they hit twenty, I thought surely that's plenty, but along came game thirty and the list grew quite wordy. Now here we are six years later on a spooky Halloween indeed, but is there really a need for forty-three?
For a while, they were surprising us with an occasional new feature but now we are getting a Fantasy Mosaic game every 2 months and they are all the same now, so there's just no need to play another one. I may as well go back to the beginning, with 42 games to play, it would be like playing a brand new game! I still love the genre, in fact, I recently played Detective Agency Mosaic and that game blew me off of my computer chair, so from now on, all other Mosaic games will have to meet the standard of that game...this one certainly doesn't come close! At least that game has an interesting story...Match Gems needs to come up with something more creative than the current, weak Penguin Family sagas, and ridiculous peek-a-boo rooms..the whole penguin family discovers aliens, a portal in the woods, time travels, etc. is getting kind of lame and it isn't really a story??
The only new features that have been added over the past 42 games, besides upgrading the color graphics, is a multi-color feature (added in game # 4) a Sun power-up (added on game #6) the addition of earning/deducting stars for using hints (on game # 15) two additional color bubbles offering 6 colors vs 4 (on game # 16) an Eye feature to view the background w/out the grid (on game # 18) an interactive garden feature (on game # 21) locked colors (on game # 27) different tile choices (on game # 28) an interactive workshop w/ mini-games (on game # 33) and Zen mode (on game # 34)
The Zen Mode has returned for those who prefer to solve the griddlers without all the hand/flipper holding. In Zen Mode, the numbers aren't crossed off but Mistakes aren't counted against you either, because chances are, you'll have to edit some of the cells as you switch between colors. You can delete filled-in or crossed-off cells by right-clicking the cell in Zen Mode, and you'll know you have completed a particular color correctly because a checkmark will appear on the color bubble.
You can play in a Casual Mode which crosses off the cells one by one, or the Advanced Mode, which only crosses off the remaining cells once the entire row and column have been filled in. You will earn a Gold trophy if you make no mistakes, a Silver trophy if you make one mistake, and a Bronze trophy if you make two mistakes. You will also earn up to three gold Stars if you don't use any hints, one star is deducted each time you use a hint. Therefore, it is possible to make a mistake or two but still earn 3 stars as long as you don't use any available hints.
There are 20 locations, and each location has 5 Griddlers and an additional mini-game. You can choose from 7 different tile sets, ranging in color vibrancy, and styles. Locked Colors can be disabled in the Settings menu, otherwise, some of the colors are locked and unavailable until you uncover color-specific keys that are hidden beneath some of the filled-in cells The Eye feature allows you to hide the grid to get a look at the puzzle without all the grid lines, and there is a reset icon that makes it much easier to restart the level if you make a mistake.
There are groups of numbers located on each column and row of the grid, each group of numbers must be separated by at least one blank or crossed off cell. Sometimes it's easier to cross-off cells that can't possibly contain a filled-in cell, which will reduce the number of cells and narrow the playing field down a bit, when you get stuck, you can switch colors and work back and forth until it's solved.
Some of the cells contain bonuses such as extra hints, extra mistakes allowed, or an extra pickax which allows you to choose which cell you want a hint on, and some cells contain keys to unlock colors (unless you disable this feature in settings) There is a Sun icon as well that when fully charged, will give you a mega-hint, filling in or crossing off a 3x3 area of your choice.

I actually didn't mind the sci-fi sound FX, I actually found the levels challenging at times because you have to construct the right resource platforms at the right time in order to progress, otherwise, you are left with no option but to restart the level.
You can play in a High-Intensity Mode or a Relaxed Mode...however, the High-Intensity Mode on most levels, in my opinion, is stingy with the time, on some levels it's nearly impossible to get all 3 stars, and I simply don't enjoy playing on Relaxed mode because I don't want to play a TM game without being timed...it defeats the purpose of a time management game! This could have been solved by offering 3 modes of difficulty, a simple fix, but they didn't bother so neither will I.
The tasks can become monotonous and boring because they are basically the same tasks over and over, especially when you are tasked with using portals to go back and forth a billion times. The "feed me crystals" is a good concept but after collection approximately one billion crystals in each level, I'm just not all that enthusiastic about the crystals by the time I reach the end of the demo. The scenery couldn't be more boring to look at, I love sci-fi, I purchased the space-themed TM game and loved how the developers were able to use their imagination to create a space frontier, this developer has no imagination apparently, or didn't bother to use it, so neither will I.
As for the CE version, if you expect me to pay twice as much for a Collector's Edition, and you expect me to look at boring scenery, at least throw in a morphing object or a colorful alien for me to collect in each scene to entice me to spend the extra money and give the CE a better rating so that others will see the value as well. Because they didn't, I didn't feel the need to continue my T.I.M.E journey with P.E.T & T.E.D

I could tell you a bit about the storyline, I could. But I'd rather tell you about how HOPA games have made me feel lately, and why this game was different! Lately, they bore me, they all have predictable stories with unimaginative plots. Call of the Hills seemed that way at first...but man, did I get a plot shock! They all have the same repetitive tasks, over and over, back and forth, seems like the boringness will never end and the scenes are so alike, I can't tell one game from the next...but man, this is one beautiful game! I couldn't wait to see what beautiful scene was waiting for me next! Then there are the collectibles, you know the ones, the same ole same ole, the morphing objects that are the size of cars and morph into an out of place object that scream "look at me" and collectibles that are just "clickables"?...but this game has beautiful opaque elves and morphs that make you pause, and stare at the beautiful scenery because they aren't so easily spotted because they are exactly what they are supposed to be...an ADDED CHALLENGE!
Now I did find fault with the level of challenge in the fact that you only have to search one scene at a time in most cases. It's pretty hard not to figure out a game when everything is neatly organized into one or 2 scenes at the most. I also thought the mini-games and hidden object scenes could have been more creative. But if you are looking for a game with beautiful graphics and one heck of a story that is full of surprises, and may even bring a tear or two to your eyes...look no further! Job well done Friendly Fox Studios :)
Collectibles/Morphing Objects: Each scene has 2 of those famous Friendly Fox Opaque Collectibles (5 different Glass Elves unlocked at 5-10-22-37-52) They are beautiful little elves that I loved searching for and I hope they never abandon this feature! Each scene also has 2 Morphing Objects, some of the scene morphs are well-hidden and they morph at a decent pace, although I would love to see them a little bit smaller for a little added challenge :)
Gadget/Helper: There is a Gadget and a Helper. An Irish Setter that is used to dig up an item 5 times and an Amulet Gadget that is used 5 times as well in the Main Chapter. The Amulet is used to search the scene for 5 runes each time you find a new bead, this was the most worthless gadget of all time, the "runes" were so easy to spot, not to mention that there were only 5 of them made it seem like a chore rather than an additional feature intended to delight the player.
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 17 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter. The HO scenes were just okay, some of them were actually kind of boring and the items were very easy to spot. There are Interactive List Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Find and Replace Items, Spot the Difference Finds, Multiples of the Same or Similar Object, Opposites, and a very simplistic and repetitive HOP associated with the Amulet Gadget where you are tasked with finding 5 Runes in a scene.
Mini-Games: There are 38 Mini-Games +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Many of these games are tasks with directions rather than actual games, they are simple to solve such as entering codes shown on a piece of paper, putting fragments together, matching pairs of objects, or choosing objects in a specific order by trial and error...and they are not skippable! (this may upset a lot of players, but they really are easy tasks) Here are a few of my personal favorites:
1-Place figurines so that they don't share the same diagonal, horizontal, or vertical lines. 2-Select objects to place in a grid. 3-Use all numbered tiles to move through the maze. 4-Toggle various sliders to aim the target.
Bonus Chapter: (CE version only) The story continues the World of Seeds as a rebellion takes place against the King and Cathrine tries to put the pieces together of her family secret while helping the King restore his Kingdom in this average-length chapter that takes place over 8 Scene Locations. This is one of the few Bonus Chapters that held my interest, the developers were wise to continue this story to help us put the pieces together, rather than go off on another adventure with a different character or go back in time! There are 10 Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes and you will continue searching for 2 Opaque Elves and 2 Morphing Objects per scene which will unlock the final 2 Glass Elves in your collection.
Collector's Edition Extra's 10 Wallpapers (all w/characters) 13 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Screensavers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 23 Movie Video Cutscenes, 15 Achievements, 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 13 Replayable Mini-Games, 52 Opaque Elves (2 per scene) 52 Morphing Objects (2 per scene) 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

Most people are afraid of monsters under their bed, a few people have skeletons in their closets, but Pierre Sullivan seems to have a whole boatload of monsters, real monsters living under his mansion. That's not the bad news, the bad news is that he decided to finally let them out...Happy Halloween!
Gadgets/Helper: There are no Gadgets or Helpers. Do the creepy twins count?
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only): There are 15 Morphing Voodoo Dolls and 15 Potion Ingredients that are quite small. There are 83 Zoom Zone Rings, aka coins that can be used to purchase 15 Coffin decorations which actually involve clothing a skeleton. At first, there are only a few accessories available to purchase but as you purchase those, the next layers become available. There is an optional Collection Icon Tab that can be enabled or disabled in the settings menu as well.
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 9 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter and an alternate Match 3 Game available, which btw, doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly. (you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match which makes the game seem sooo slooowww) Although they are Halloween-themed, they have very obvious objects that can be easily spotted without even looking at the list! There are Interactive Listed Item Finds, Replacing items into the Scene on several Portraits, Silhouetted Shapes, Multiples of Item Finds, Items Related, or Keywords in Sentence Finds.
Mini-Games: There are 12 Mini-Games +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Below are a few of my personal favorites:
1-Place light spheres so they cover all bat tiles x3. 2-Play the piano according to arrow keys. 3-Place tokens correctly so the sum equals 94. 4-Fill a grid with symbols so that none are identical 5-Place figurines so their hands align.
Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only) A vampire's life can be difficult, especially one who has sworn off blood! Mara seeks the help of Pierre Sullivan to transform her back into human form so she will no longer crave blood, yum! This is a typical stretched out Bonus Chapter with a lot of cliche tasks and a ton of back and forth unnecessary repetitvness spanning over 10 scene locations. There are 8 additional Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes and you will continue your search for the final 5 Morphing Voodoo Dolls, 4 Potion Ingredients, and 9 Zoom Zone Rings (of varying amounts) which allows you to purchase the final Coffin Decorations.
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only) 15 Wallpapers, 15 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 26 Movie Video Cutscenes, 38 Achievements, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 14 Morphing Voodoo Dolls,15 Potion Ingredients, a gazillion Missing Notes, 83 Zoom-Zone Rings, 15 Coffin Decorations (purchase with rings) 4 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

I played on the Timed Mode versus the Relaxed Mode and found that with the exception of level 2, which seemed to run out of all possible move options, I was breezing through the levels at a break-neck pace. I quit at level 20 and still had 18 minutes left on the demo, and that includes taking notes and constantly spinning the gold wheel of fortune and buying upgrades and treasures galore! It was a fun game for a bit, but the power-ups were numerous and there seemed to be no progression difficulty, nor did the board layouts become more difficult, so I just got bored and quit!
You can play in a Timed or Relaxed Mode and choose from 38 Avatars, one of which is a Question Mark??? There are 11 Achievements to earn and I had earned most of them during the demo with the exception of repaying a level 5 times, failing 10 levels, playing in Relaxed Mode, and playing for 20 days!
Matching Sparkling Symbols will refill the Boosters that are located to the left of the board, these will remove a single tile (Torch) unlock a locked symbol (Hammer), and another repeat of the unlocking scenario? (Iron Key)
The level goals are shown at the top of the screen and usually involve making matches over all gold cells and collecting a specified number of specified tiles, some levels require you to drop amulets to the bottom of the board. A minoot amount of gold is earned when you complete a level, more gold is earned when you get free spins on the wheel of fortune which is used to purchase Power-ups and Treasures that are displayed in the sand?
Powerups are earned on the board for large matches of 4 or more tiles after you have purchased them. Most of the powerups do the same thing but are more powerful with each purchase, even though they have different names. They range from small bombs and explosives to diagonal, vertical, and horizontal line busters, and dice that remove all of the same kind of tiles.
There are various Obstacles such as Stone Tiles, and Locked Tiles, but nothing out of the ordinary. It's a colorful game, but it's a game that you won't be able to win without creating a ton of powerups which means you'll have to purchase them as soon as they become available. I'm just not a fan of M3 games that force me to use a powerup to win a game, I always try to win the entire game without using them!
THE KIDS TOOK THE CAT AWAY LAST YEAR? THAT'S A ROUGH NEIGHBORHOOD BF??

fromDear Kids: Bring the cat back or he'll haunt you for the rest of your life...he's young, still has at least 8 lives left, might go into the afterlife, just saying...

First of all, I'd like to point out that BF chose a really poor synopsis for this game. I get that they had to wing it because there is no storyline, but if you live in a neighborhood that steals the poor cats on Halloween wouldn't you have the decency to bring them inside for the night to keep them safe? I have lived in a rural area all my life and even the farmers make their animals their number one priority, so I'm wondering now...do kids really steal other people's pet cats on Halloween in the city? Was this just a really random made-up synopsis or am I that clueless? If this is a Halloween "thing" why on Earth would you leave your poor cat out on Halloween night to defend himself knowing he may never come home? What do they do with all these cats? OMG, I don't want to know! If I lived in the city, I would borrow the meanest little dog I could find and dress him up like a cat and put a GPS and a Go-pro on his collar...one less Halloween cat-napper next year!
Moving on to the Halloween-themed game! No cats were harmed nor were they kidnapped, we'll actually I wouldn't know if they were kidnapped technically, because all I know is that there aren't any cats in the game itself but there could have been and now there isn't so how would I know if there was but now isn't?
You can play in a Relaxed Match 2 Mode or a Challenge Mode which requires matching 3 or more Orbs. The Orbs are genius! Well actually, they aren't orbs, they are eyeballs, cauldrons, coffins, candles, brains, potion bottles, etc. I just finished playing the demo of a similar orb shooting game that is now on #10 and the difference between these two series are galaxies apart, this developer has an imagination, creativity, and a bunch of missing cats.
The beauty of this Matching Orb game is that there's no Timer so you can take your time to figure out the best strategy. The playing field has an infinite amount of Colored Orbs located on the Top, Bottom, Right, and Left sides (you can only see the colors of 2 Orbs in each row or column) and the object is to remove all of the Orbs by shooting an identical colored orb from any of the parameters at the Orbs to remove them. As you progress, more Orb variations are added to the field and naturally, more obstacles are added as well. Bonuses appear randomly, but they will quickly disappear if they aren't activated by a moving Orb. You can right-click on each bonus to get a brief description, you can also click on the Question Mark to read about all of the features.
OBSTRUCTIONS: *Chains/Double Chains~requires a matching colored orb to break the chain(s) another to remove orbs remaining. *Glass Border~break when hit with an orb. *Wooden Borders~requires a hit by any orb to destroy. *Stone Borders~can only be destroyed by Bonuses. *Metal Borders~cannot be destroyed. *Glass Cells~break when hit with an orb. *Wooden Wall~requires neighboring match or orbs. *Stone Wall~can only be destroyed by Bonuses. *Metal Wall~cannot be destroyed. *Side Shield Crates~requires hit by orb on the unprotected side. *Extra Armor~destroyed when tiles are beneath a neighboring cell. *Mist~removed when orbs are matched near the mist. *Amphora~moves 3 times when hit with an orb before breaking. *Metal Amphora~moves 3 times, indestructible. *Seal~requires a Seal key to be hit by an orb. *Seal Key~hit with an orb to remove Seals. *Arrows~redirrects the path of the orb.
BONUSES:(appear & disappear randomly) *Flames~include in a match to detonate an explosion. *Lightning~destroys all of the same color orbs. *Bonus Missile~produces 3 missiles to remove 3 random orbs. *Bonus Bombs~transforms 5 random orbs into bombs. *Bonus Multi-Orbs~transforms 7 random active orbs into multi-orbs that can be matched with any color. *Cross Dynamite~destroys orbs in a cross pattern. *Cross X Dynamite~destroys orbs in an X pattern. *Mines~destroys neighboring cells. *Battering Ram~requires a hit from an orb on the back to destroy the object in front of the ram. *Cannon~requires hitting the red button with an orb to fire the cannon (can be on multiple sides) *Multi-Orbs-can be matched with any orb.
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I love the last couple of Halloween games that have been released so we seem to be on a roll!

Don't be fooled by the title or the graphics into thinking this isn't going to be a challenging enough game for adults because this game was developed by the same people who created the amazing Mortimer Beckett series! The graphics are so bright and colorful, yet incredibly, they were still able to blend the objects into the scenery which is really hard to do when the scenery has bright colors. The first few scenes are rather easy as they explain the features, but I became totally engrossed in this game and when the demo abruptly ended, it surprised me, so this is my personal indication that it's a must-have game!
Montgomery Fox is a detective that has been hired by the insurance company to locate a stole necklace that will bankrupt the company if they have to pay the claim. Montgomery accepts the case and heads to the scene of the crime...a very wealthy estate of course, where you'll search for clues.
Each of the 60 Levels has a section of a Magnifying Glass to locate (shown as a pictured item on the left side of the inventory bar) as well as a pictured Collectible Achievement (shown on the right side of the inventory bar) These collectible's show up as achievements on a lawn after each HO level, and you may also receive a new Journal Entry.
The objects to locate are Listed Items, shown 3 words at a time, and 1 item on each level will show up in Blue Letters. This word can be clicked on to change the word (3 different words, such as Tuba, Flute, or Brush) and you must scroll through the words until you find the correct word that matches the item in the scene, how cool is that! So the items aren't mislabeled, I was confused by this feature too, at first.
Each Scene also has a Zoom Zone that sparkles and contains some of the Listed Objects. The Zoom Zone will not close once you have located all the objects and I loved the extra challenge of not knowing if the items could still be located in the zoom zones!
You can only play in a Relaxed Mode, there is no timer, no penalties for misclicks or using the Hint feature. After playing a few Hidden Object Levels, you can play a puzzle or mini-game of some sort. There was a Memory Match game where you flipped over daisy tokens to find matching Mushrooms that I really enjoyed and found to be a great challenge!
