I have Cleared It 9 Times in the past and quite frankly there's nothing exciting about clearing "It" anymore. This time I bypassed the 80 Main Levels and went straight to the Challenge Levels which was basically like starting out mid-way on the main levels challenge, or progression wise. These Levels go by the number of Colored Orbs, so you'll start out with 2 colors, then progress to 3 colors...eventually work your way up to 7 colors!
The gameplay is simple, there is an unlimited number of colored Orbs located on all four sides of the board and the goal is to launch an Orb at an identical colored Orb(s) on the field until all Orbs have been removed. The Orb will travel in a straight column or row until it hits another Orb, Power-up, or Obstacle. If the selected Orb hits one or more Orbs of the same color, they are removed, and you may need to use a little bit of strategy to set-up your moves, keep in mind that there is no timer.
Each level has Power-ups that appear briefly on the field or within the Orbs themselves, before disappearing and reappearing as a different Power-up in a completely different area. The Power-ups are activated when hit by an Orb or included in a Match.
*Rotation power-up: reshuffles and replaces the Orbs.
*Multi-colored Bombs: eliminates adjacent Orbs
*Trident power-up: replaces all border Orbs with Tridents *Fireball power-up: explodes and eliminates nearby Orbs.
*Lightning power-up: eliminates nearby Orbs in a cross formation.
*Star power-up: shoots stars to eliminate adjacent Orbs.
*Dynamite power-up: explodes to eliminate adjacent orbs.
*Numbers: choose 1 or 5 Orbs to eliminate via crosshairs.
*Billiard Ball: a ball ricochets on a pool table to eliminate Orbs & obstacles it touches.
*Exclamation Mark: eliminates all Orbs of the same color.
Each level progresses in difficulty, as more orb colors are added, fewer orbs in the desired color along the edges are offered. Sometimes you just have to sacrifice and add a few orbs to the equation, to be able to get to the desired colored orb, but because there's no time or moves limit it doesn't count against you.
Once again, I was disappointed that the rows and columns don't highlight because it's easy to shoot an orb from the wrong slot. There are the same obstacles as the last several games such as brick walls and glass thrown into the mixture, the same colored orbs with the same power-ups and features as the previous games. It gets pretty boring doing the same thing over and over, especially if you've played previous games in the series that are nearly identical!
Game # 3 has 80 Levels as well and starts out with single and double planked obstacle barriers on some of the Orbs on the field. The Orbs start out with Red, Green, and Yellow Orbs.
Game # 4 has 40 Levels that starts out with Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow Orbs.
Game # 5 has 15 Levels with a mixture of square and Round Orbs in Purple, Green, Yellow, Blue, Red, and Orbs. This is the level where the real challenge begins because there are 5 Orb colors and it's tough to get the desired color of orb for shooting.
Game # 6 has 10 Levels with Purple, Orange, Green, Yellow, Red, and Blue Orbs on the field and the board layouts start to get complicated.
Game # 7 only has 5 Levels but there are 7 different colors or Orbs, Purple, Pink, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Orange. These level layouts usually have tight groupings that contain 2-3 colors that are nearly impossible to get to without sacrificing several balls, either to get to a desired colored orb or to shoot at a power-up in hopes that you'll have a better outcome! If you want a REAL challenge, these are the levels you want to play!

I love the games by this developer but I have been complaining about a particular Mac glitch that is happening on every single game in every series by just this particular developer. I don't have issues with any other games, and I didn't have issues with any of the games by this developer until about six months ago so whatever they changed, updated, or switched to, they need to switch it back! (that's a polite please and thank you :) As I said, they worked before, and it's only the games by this developer that have been affected. My screen shows up full size, but the pictures themselves show up as a small window in the bottom left corner. If I switch to windowed mode, all that does is make the same scenario smaller, the picture is still in the bottom left corner of the windowed mode! If no one wants to fix it, I guess I'll just have to keep giving the game low ratings because it's not fun to play the game in this current status and I haven't been able to purchase any of the games (nor do I want to) until this glitch gets resolved.
I know this developer is listening because I have asked for a full-color scale option for the background colors and that option was recently fulfilled on the newer Paint By Numbers series. I also asked for Cursor options such as a pencil, marker, ballpoint and/or nib pen, quills, etc. instead of the huge and bulky cursor that was currently offered, and although he didn't give us multiple cursor options, he did go back to the drawing board and slim the cursor down significantly!
In some of the earlier versions, I complained that there weren't enough color variations to give the picture depth, in other words, he didn't use different shades of the same color side by side as a visual shading effect...so he created a new game genre, Polygon Art.
I recommended that he use different textures of art materials such as oil or acrylic paints to make our completed images appear more like the real thing, like works of art, a Picasso...so he created a new genre, Modern Art!
There are still two options I think are necessary. When a picture has been completed you don't get to view the completed image in full size, nor do you get to revisit the completed image in full size. There should also be an option to download the completed images as Wallpapers...especially some of these beautifully painted images! So they are listening to suggestions about new game designs...how about suggestions on playability?
There are 64 images available but you are still forced to finish the first level before moving on to the next. I still don't understand this concept, why do I have to finish one level before proceeding? I'm sure everyone would like the ability to pick and choose from any level!
Each area has a number and you simply chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side. There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (there's a "fit" tab as well) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging. There is also a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background, which now includes a full-color scale. ☯

I appreciate the fact that BF is releasing these games on Mac before the PC version, but all of the games in all of the series lately have been showing up in a small window on the left corner of the screen. It's NOT a windowed mode, the screen itself is large, but the part where you complete the pictures is centered in the corner and there's no way to solve this issue such as by adjusting my resolution or opting for the windowed mode because that just makes it smaller but still in the bottom left corner! I've been complaining about this on all of my reviews and it keeps happening, game after game! So, unfortunately, the only way I know to make a statement is to keep deducting stars until someone decides to fix it so I can enjoy the games in the series by this particular developer again!
Once again we have the option to change the color of the background with a full-scale color bar which also changes the color of the "greyed" area or highlighted area of the number you are currently working on. Unfortunately, this sort of defeats the purpose, I love the background colors, I asked for background colors repeatedly, but it still needs to have a color variation between the background color and the highlighted area because it's hard to spot the colors you are working on if they are next to the background.
There are 64 images available but you are forced to finish the first level before moving on to the next. Why do I have to finish one level before proceeding? If you won't let the player see what's in store for them they may not purchase the game based upon the images presented in the demo, you should at least place some interesting pictures on the first level!
They also made the cursor tip smaller and less bulky and you can now drag the cursor to fill in the colors on the entire board as long as you don't let go of the mouse button. In other words, as long as you left-click & hold before dragging a color, only the current number will be filled in, all other numbers will be ignored until you release the mouse button. This makes it much easier when there are tiny areas that are hard to spot or are too tedious to fill in individually, but there is also a Hint button that will point to any missed areas of the current color, without penalty if you don't feel like swiping over the whole board to catch missed areas.
There's not a whole lot to have to figure out, it's about as uncomplicated and basic as it gets. Paint By Numbers is a computer version of Oil or Colored Pencil Paint by Numbers, and actually closer to the real thing than the Pixel Art versions. Each area has a number and you simply chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side, left-click to fill in all the numbers with the correct color.
There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (there's a "fit" tab as well) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging. There is also a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background, which now includes a full-color scale. In the past, I've stated that I would love to see a "texture" feature added that would mimic different paint variations as well. My wishes have been granted...sort of! This same developer has released two new art series, one of which, Modern Art, has various textures that are more like the actual paint by numbers we all know and love!
My low star rating is ONLY because of the Mac glitch that hasn't been fixed for over 6 months! It's very frustrating because I love these games and I want to be able to play them on a full screen! (it wouldn't be so bad if the tiny window was at least centered in the middle of the screen!)
This is the kind of game that is designed for relaxation and to take you out of the zone, it's not supposed to be a brain-burner kind of game. It's a very basic and rudimentary game that's 100 % Zen ☯

♠ Holy Moly Mad Hatter, has someone spiked the cookie dough batter?
♠ One Queen wants a Halloween that never ends, Autumn's the clear choice, and she's not willing to bend.
♠ The other Queen argues Winter has Christmas and fresh falling snow, which brings that jolly good fellow who shouts "ho, ho ho"!
♠ Now Wonderland has called upon Alice to solve this dilemma, I'm thinking they probably should have called on Cinderella!

This has got to be one of the most creative and imaginative Time Management games I've played in a long time! What a delightful, whimsical game with bright colors, fun characters, and a hilarious story. I love the CE morphing Art Palettes because they are really challenging due to the fact that they morph so slowly. Each scene also has a Teacup puzzle piece that allows you to assemble Jigsaw Puzzles. TIP: look for the Palette & the Teacup before clicking to start the game, you can click on both of them without starting the timer! You can also return to the levels to pick up the collectibles and then exit the level after without disrupting the original score. The SG also shows the location of the Teacups with a purple arrow on the last page of the SG (click the dots at the bottom of the SG page to scroll thru pages) This is definitely a game I'm putting on my wish list...covid lay-offs means I only get demos for a while :( but I highly recommend this CE version if at all possible!

In the last version, I found a little trick that helped me immensely, there are so many alters and features that I decided to jot down bullet points of what each feature gives me and what resources they require because I was able to look at my notes to better strategize. (for example Chest-bark+gold...Bush-imagination+candy) So the chest required bark to obtain gold, and the Bush required imagination to obtain candy, and by making a list with a minus and plus sign (- and +) I could easily glance at my notes and know what I'd need to go after, and on which paths first.
There are 40 Main Levels (+20 Collector's Edition version Bonus Levels) that can be played in a Relaxed, Normal or Challenge difficulty mode, and Trophy Achievements to earn. In the CE version, each level has a Teacup that allows you to assemble downloadable Jigsaw Puzzles. Each scene also has a Morphing Art Palette that allows you to "paint" 3 Concept Art pictures. The CE version also has 2 extra mini-games, downloadable artwork, bonus quests, and 4 additional achievements.
Although the concept is the same, the features are clever. Alice must collect "Imagination" and the Tweedle workers need to collect Candy as their food source. You will build Candy Factories for food supplies, repair cracks along the paths, removing stone and boulders, clear mysterious puddles, and gather renewable resources from various Altars. There are a lot of strategies involved and if you don't do things in the right order, you can and will get stuck and have no choice but to start over! (the bullet point list really helps :)
There are plenty of pumpkins, and candy canes but even cooler, there are all kinds of weird holiday mashup tasks such as Snowmen that need to be turned into Scarecrows, Leprechaun Houses that brew potions, Jokers with pumpkin heads...all kinds of weird, whimsical, and cute things to do.
The Bonuses are Magic Spells that last for about 20 seconds each, and each level usually has 3-4 different Spells available:
♠-Collect More Resources
♠-Run Faster
♠-Bargain Trade (resources traded at a better rate of 3-4)
♠-Get Candy Pile (generated on altars)
♠-Get Gold (generated on altars)
♠-Fill Altars
♠-Speed Up Workers
♠-Freeze Time
♠-Speed Up Production
♠-Endless Candy (obstacles are temporarily disabled-max 3 objects)
♠-Endless Gold (obstacles are temporarily disabled-max 3 objects)

The Mystery Trackers Training Camp doesn't officially start until tomorrow but two of your students have already created a situation of monstrous proportions. It seems that Cadets Black and Slate have stumbled upon an abandoned Mystery Trackers facility, but what they found inside is now outside and definitely out of control!
Helper/Gadget:
I can't imagine playing a Mystery Trackers game without my partner Elf, nonetheless, you do get the option of abandoning Elf in a hot car? Man, that's brutal! If you do decide to do the right thing (no pressure...he's getting old...just look at the poor baby :) Elf is used 4 times in the Main Game and 0 times in the Bonus Chapter. There is a second gadget, Spectral Goggles, but those are only used twice in the first chapter.
Morphing Objects/Collectibles: (CE version only)
Did you at least roll the windows down? I'm sure Elf will be fine while we move on to the morphing objects category, you sure you want to leave him behind?
The Strategy Guide claims that there are Collectibles in Red but it doesn't show any collectibles circled in red nor do any collectibles appear in any of the scenes that I found? If I had to speculate, Elf probably ate them because he's bored, what else is he supposed to do all alone? There are 27 Morphing Objects that morph at medium speed but they do morph into a similar object to make it less obvious. Most of the Zoom Zones have a Jigsaw Puzzle Piece that allows you to complete a single Screensaver. Looks like we just have to accept that less is more nowadays? But wait! You can have more, just say yes to Elf and you get an extra helper and maybe those missing CE collectibles will reappear?
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 12 Hidden Object Scenes +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter. I felt that Elephant upped their game with the HO's by adding more of an interesting variety and doing a better job of not making the items stick out like a sore thumb. There are Interactive List Finds, Multiples of Items Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, they brought back the infamous HO's where you find 5 items to use on a portion of the inventory bar to unlock the List. There was a scene where you had to find 10 traces of a struggle or fight and then match facts with the evidence followed by putting the evidence in chronological order by placing icons into bars. There are no alternate games available.
Mini-Games:
There are 22 Mini-Games +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Most of the games are standard Elephant games that you've probably played several times. I actually like Elephant Games because most of them are mechanical type puzzles where you tinker with fuses, electrical panels, or gauges and they always seem doable and never frustrating. Here are a few of the ones I enjoyed the most:
1-Arrange a limited number of fuses to connect power from left to right.
2-Push each lock pin down a specific number by trial and error.
3- Follow colored wires and use directional arrows to enter the correct code in the correct order.
4-Use 3 partial picture hints to arrange the utensils correctly.
5-Place connectors in a grid so a line passes thru cold but not hot connectors.
Bonus Chapter (Collector's Edition version only)
Rewind the clock once again as you play Agent Howl who has been tasked with rescuing the administrator by opening three lockdown facilities after an experimental mishap at the research center. There are 7 Scene Locations in this average-length chapter which has 6 Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes. You will search for the remaining 8 Morphing Objects and 7 Puzzle Fragments which allows you to complete the Jigsaw Puzzle Screensaver.
Collector's Edition Extra's
5 Wallpapers?? 10 Concept Art Pictures, 1 Jigsaw Puzzle Screensavers, 4 Music Soundtracks, 15 Achievements, 12 Replayable Mini-Games, 13 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes (within the Archives Room) 27 Morphing Objects 24 Zoom Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

Everyone knows you can't escape your destiny, no matter how hard you try, or how far you run. The Grim Reaper is coming, he is coming for you. There wasn't supposed to be any survivors, you only thought you were the lucky one...but they were the lucky ones because you, my friend, are being hunted down like a wild animal by Death himself...good luck with your destiny!
I really enjoyed this story (and the CE bonus chapter wasn't bad either!) The puzzles were rather easy, but I thought they were fun, and the HO scenes have vastly improved lately! The graphics are amazing as usual, and the developer seems to have gotten the hint about our bitterness towards the never-ending emblem-placing scenario (thank you!!) but mostly, I just enjoyed finally having a creepy-themed game rather than a fantasy-themed game even though I'd prefer a REAL horror game and a REAL hard-core or at least a game geared towards seasoned players!
Helper/Gadget:
There are NO gadgets or Helpers in Halloween Stories: Defying Death.
Morphing Objects/Collectibles: (CE version only)
There are 11 Halloween Collectibles that are actually kind of cool, but with every Elephant game, the CE bling seems to be dwindling??? There are 26 Morphing Objects that morph at a decent speed and for a change aren't the size of baby elephants!! One Zoom Zone in each scene has a Jigsaw Puzzle Fragment (18 total) that automatically assembles a Grim Reaper picture, it's actually supposed to represent replacing the glass onto the frame.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are only 8 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter, several of which are smaller zoom zone HO's that usually precede the main HO scenes. What I am noticing from this developer in the last 3-4 game, is a marked improvement in the Hidden Object Scenes! The objects are smaller, they are clearly making an attempt to blend the objects into the scenery and choosing objects that will blend into the scene rather than stick out like a sore thumb...when developers try to improve...I always notice! There are Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Matching Pairs, Related Objects, Associated Objects, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Swatch Finds, and Multiples of the same Items. There are no alternate games available.
Mini-Games:
There are 13 Mini-Games +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. They did a good job with variety and putting twists on standard games and making them Halloween-themed. The puzzles were easy to complete, but for the most part, they were fun puzzles rather than an insult to my intelligence if that makes sense? I usually like Elephant Games because most of them are mechanical type puzzles where you tinker with fuses, electrical panels, or gauges and they always seem doable and never frustrating.
Bonus Chapter (Collector's Edition version only)
Gertrude, the Patron of Souls, will grant the Grim Reapers wish to become human on one condition...well, actually three conditions! He must pass three trials by rescuing three entities in dire need...kind of like a Halloween-Scrooge hybrid.
This is a decent story and of average-length spanning over 8 Scene Locations with 6 Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes. You will search for the remaining 2 Halloween Collectibles, 8 Morphing Objects, and 7 Puzzle Fragments which allows you to complete the Grim Reaper picture (it's more like placing the glass on the frame)
Collector's Edition Extra's
5 Wallpapers, 1 Jigsaw Fragment Picture, 4 Music Soundtracks, 22 Halloween Mask Achievements, (2 of the masks don't show up on the rack, you can scan the cursor to read the achievement, but once you earn the achievements "Heartbreaking Margin" and "Distressing Power" those two masks vanish!) 13 Replayable Mini-Games, 13 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes (within the Archives Room) 26 Morphing Objects, 18 Zoom Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Fragments (automatically fills in the Grim Reaper Picture, 11 Collectible Halloween Decorations, 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

fromMy rating is actually a 3.5 "Spider" rating because I can't replay the levels if I don't earn all 3 spiders and because of the practically non-existent explanation of features!

Double, double, toil, and trouble. Fire burn and, cauldron bubble. Double, double, toil, and trouble. Something wicked this way comes! The Swamp Witch is evil her magic is strong. Granny's kids are coming to visit, it won't be long. The Swamp Witch has destroyed Granny's humble abode in the woods and cursed the whole forest just because she could. Eye of newt and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog, Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg and owlet's wing. Granny's a Good Witch who doesn't need such gross things, just a tad bit of magic, and some Halloween Zing!
The graphics are really good in this addicting Halloween themed sequel filled with bats, mummy's, witches hats, spiders, monsters, and eyeballs. Unfortunately, the developer didn't pay attention to the complaints on the reviews of the first game because the same issues have carried over :( My biggest complaint is that the tutorial or explanation of the features is either non-existent or they don't stay up long enough for you to read them! When you add unique or unusual features to a Match 3 game (which is awesome btw) you have to explain them...this could easily be solved by adding a help section that allows the player to reference the different features such as powerups and obstacles, at their own discretion.
You can play in an Endless Level Limit (Relaxed Mode) a Limited Moves or Timed Mode in a Casual or Expert difficulty Mode, and there are 14 Achievements to earn. You can earn up to 3 Spiders per level but there is NO option to replay the levels if you don't earn all 3 spiders! This is something I may not be able to overlook, I am really questioning whether I will be purchasing the game because of this feature alone!
Large Matches will give you a Pumpkin Bomb of various strengths on the board. The Pumpkin Bombs must be swapped to create an explosion, you cannot double-click them to detonate them in the exact spot they are located, another oversight! The Hammer to destroy a chosen tile and the Shuffle Boosters are available at your discretion, located to the right of the Match 3 board.
As you progress, various Obstacles are added that are actually unique and add to the challenge, especially given the fact that the board layouts are creative with lots of nooks and crannies. There are invisible tiles that hide parts of the board until you make adjacent matches over the invisible tiles! There are the usual Chains, etc. but there are also Locks that block sections of the board until you make a specified number of matches of whichever tile is locked. Every level seemed to have a new obstacle but none of the obstacles had an explanation, the player is left to figure out what they do or just wing it? One tile had numbers and an icon within it that kept changing and whatever I did right (I have no idea) the tile started shooting out rockets all over the board...I'm assuming to shoot that specific number of those tiles?
Each level has Cauldrons located at the bottom of the board. The goal is to collect those Cauldrons so that Granny can upgrade the Cabin destroyed by the evil swamp witch before her family arrives. There are 13 Upgrades available ranging from 100-94000 Cauldrons.
There are various Mini-Games available such as a beautiful 16 piece Jigsaw Puzzle, a Memory Match game, and various Puzzle variations.
This would be a 5-star game, in my opinion, one that I would love to buy if I were able to replay levels that I didn't earn all 3 Spiders on because this drives the OCD side of me crazy. I can overlook the non-existent tutorial because I can eventually figure things out on my own, but I have to be able to earn ALL 3 stars or spiders in this case!

I can appreciate the fact that the objects have been much better blended into the scenery and the scenery itself has been sharpened up to a much crisper graphics presentation in the last two games. The fact still remains that it's just another "Travel to" game and without new features being added, they just aren't games I look forward to anymore, I know they are going to have the same MO as the last game and the one before that. I don't mind playing a few levels of the demo, but I don't feel the need to hit the "buy now" button when the demo ends. One of the biggest reasons I don't feel the need to purchase these games lately is because the items never change position when you replay the levels, which is a requirement to earn the necessary stars to unlock the next level in order to progress, therefore, it can get boring quickly.
You can play in 3 different modes, a Relaxed Untimed Mode, 10-Minute Timed Mode, or a 3-Minute Timed Mode to complete each level. You will earn a single star on each HO location and the next location requires 2-3 stars to unlock it so you will need to replay the previous scenes in order to earn enough stars to progress. As I said above, you will need to replay the previous levels to earn more stars to unlock the proceeding levels and the Hidden Object Modes change between Listed Item, Silhouetted Shapes, and Scrambled Letter Modes, however, the objects never move they are always in the same place, although the objects to find may vary slightly...but usually only one or two objects vary on the list! What this boils down to is that you can basically guess at the objects by the time you roll around to the silhouetted shapes, and scrambled letters and get 99% of them right!
Each scene has a Lazy Turtle to discover (once you find him he won't appear when you replay the same scene in a different mode) There are trivia facts before visiting each location as well. I still think the developers need to use their Lazy Turtle Logo versus the cheap plastic turtle because this developer's Lazy Turtle Logo is one of the coolest logos I've seen. He's an adorable "lazy" turtle wearing a sombrero and leaning up against a palm tree. If they used a semi-transparent image of this logo and hid it in each scene it would be much more challenging to spot, which is the point of a hidden collectible that isn't on the list! (free advertising never hurts either!)

I wasn't crazy about the castles on this edition of Jewel Match, but the Match 3 levels are very addicting. It's one of those games where you just keep telling yourself, "I'll just play one more level before I get some actual work done" but six levels later you are still saying the same thing!
One thing's for sure, Suricate never skimps on Collector's Edition Extra's so if possible, you may want to consider that version which has all the bling you could ask for because they go above and beyond to give you way more than you are expecting. You get 3 extra Jigsaw Quests (after completing the Main Quests) 8 Music Soundtracks, 6 extra Cursor options, 6 extra Hidden Object Games, 3 extra Castles, the Making Of (really interesting concepts) Achievements, 15 Butterfly Levels, 14 Pearl Levels, and 10 Bonus Game Levels to unlock.
You can choose to play in a Timed Mode, a Limited Moves Mode, or a Relaxed Mode. Then you get to choose to play whichever type you selected, in a Normal or Advanced difficulty mode!
Each level has several "rooms" to complete, when one room is cleared, you click on the arrows to visit the next room. If you have time remaining after completing a level, you can either continue to the next level or go to the previous rooms and search for bonus items or earn more gold, etc. Gold and Silver Coins that appear can be collected with a single click (they will disappear after a brief amount of time) and Bags of Coins must be dropped off of the board to collect by making matches under them. The Coins earned can be used to purchase Shop Item upgrades of power-ups, Special Pieces are collected by dropping off the board as well, and they are used to purchase decorations such as Statues, Flowers, and Animals, Amulets are dropped off the board and they are used to purchase Castle Sections.
Large matches will reward you with power-ups, such as a Match 4 gives you a Joker Gem that can be matched with any tiles, and a Match 5 or more, awards you with an Arrow that clears rows, columns, cross formations, etc. There are Moving Bombs that strengthen with each move, Stomper Boxes that unravel with a hammer to stomp 3 different tiles, and even Atomic Tiles that turn tiles matched near them into atomic explosives.
The object is to clear all gold cells by making matches over them. Some items require you to make matches under the items such as keys until they fall off the board. Mana Bottles must be collected to cast spells, and Treasure Chests can be upgraded to hold a greater number of tiles, because once full, other tiles collected will go unused. (larger chests can be purchased in the Shop)
There are various obstacles such as Wooden Crates, Chains, Double Chains, Dark Fog, Amber Trapped tiles, Arrows that move tiles along the arrowed paths, and even Safe tiles that require a specified number of matches made next to them, according to the number inside. As you progress you will unlock Puzzle Rooms that don't allow power-ups and the goal is to catch the Butterfly. You will also unlock Pearl Rooms to gather pearls to purchase bonus mini-games. These levels are always available and won't restart unless you restart the entire game.
I love that we're finally getting some decent Match 3 games! Thank you Big Fish and Thank you SS and our fellow Pondie for another wonderful Jewel Match 3 game!

Hermes: Sibyls' Prophecy has a new developer who has only created a few games, so I decided to push my star rating to 5-Stars rather than bump it down to 4-stars when I was teetering on the fence :) I wasn't crazy about the whole puffy cloud-scenario and the game seems to be very similar to the last Hermes as far as features and tasks, but it has some good strategies and you know how I love my Roman & Greek mythology!

You can play in a Relaxed (untimed) Mode, Novice, or Expert Mode of difficulty over 50 Main Levels (+ 20 CE Bonus Levels) with 36 Achievement Trophies to earn. The Collector's Edition "Extra's" also includes 9 Music Soundtracks, 8 Concept Art Pictures, 7 Collectibles, and a Strategy Guide.
Olive Trees and Olive Groves are the main sources of food, and the Olive Groves can even be upgraded! There are the normal TM tasks of clearing paths, collecting caches of jewels, repairing chariots, repairing bridges, mining stone, and gold, etc. and as you progress you will build, repair, and upgrade Banks for gold, Forges for weapons, Quarries for stone, or Sawmills for wood, hire more workers, and trade with vendors at the Market.
Because Hermes is on a mission to prove to his father Zeus, that the sibyl prophecy is coming to fruition, he is gathering allies, one god at a time. Each level requires restoring the god's statue, therefore that god joins forces with Hermes and brings to the table a new ability (Artemis can create a path of clouds for example)
Each level has a Hidden pile of Crates that are filled with various resources such as food and supplies and you may come across Feathers that will Increase the Power of the Gods. You will earn up to 3-Stars per level (3-stars are earned automatically in the Relaxed Mode) and those stars are used to rebuild the Acropolis which was damaged after the invasion of enemy armies. Each construction will give you a different type of booster, and each building can be upgraded to make the booster more powerful by a percentage:
ACROPOLIS BOOSTERS
*you don't have to wait on the upgrades to complete, just keep playing it will automatically apply when complete*
