I've always been a fan of The Far Kingdoms series by Lazy Turtle Games, but Awakening Quest got a new makeover! The graphics are gorgeous, the Hidden Object Scenes are amazingly well done, and the story is pretty darn interesting.
I love that the objects in the HO scenes are authentic and stick with the era...no baseballs here! Each scene is unusual, and some of the objects are challenging to find.
I couldn't wait to get to the next HO scene after each tidbit of the story, so I was a tad bit disappointed that the game is just as much a Solitaire Game as a Hidden Object Game.
The Solitaire levels aren't bad; they have many features, but I really enjoyed the HOs and would have preferred this to be heavy on the HO side.
The only real complaint I have is with the Replay feature of the Solitaire levels. Nothing happens if you don't remove all the cards; there's no popup dialog telling you what to do next. By chance, I clicked on the Gear icon in the bottom left corner and clicked to end the game, which prompted the level to reload.

I had my fingers crossed as I held on tightly to me lucky charms, preparing for a magically delicious adventure, but there was no prize waiting at the bottom of this box.
The accents were dreadful; they didn't even bother with lip movement, much less lip-syncing. The story is about leprechauns and magic. The villain is an anti-leprechaun character called a Clurichaun, but I could be wrong because the story was all over the place, and none of it made sense. It was as if they had all the employees jot down a sentence using the word leprechaun (and/or Clurichaun) on a piece of paper and then they drew the next scribbled sentence from a lucky hat and inserted it into the story.
I just want to point out that I have recently embarked on a HOPA quest to replay the Mystery Case Files series from the beginning. After completing Huntsville, Prime Suspects, Ravenhearst, Madame Fate, and now Return to Ravenhearst, I'm blown away by Big Fish Studios' talent and creativity!
What happened? How could they fall so far and so hard? The biggest mistake BF made was abolishing Big Fish Studios and outsourcing their original series' to other developers. The original MCF games were incredible! I'm literally watching the birth of the HOPA game. Huntsville was the first Hidden Object Game EVER. Each game in the series added new features as the HOG slowly transformed into a HOPA.
I wish every HOPA fan would embark on the MCF journey to see what I see. You have to replay it from the beginning, back to back, to witness the transformation. If developers took this MCF journey today, they would surely hang their heads in shame! If you are interested in reading my reviews on this MCF journey, feel free to swing by my forum and ask; (they are not on BF), but they include some amazing MCF fun facts you may not know about, along with some tips & tricks.  :)

Since Big Fish offered The Black Raven 5 & 6 back-to-back, I decided to give both games a try. Number 5 was definitely far more challenging, and it held my interest more because I had to replay almost every level during the demo! I did some investigating, and it turns out that #1 was developed by Somer Games, #2-5 were developed by Melon Games, and #6 was the first and only game developed by 8 Floor Games (8 Floor is the producer for all six games, but they developed & produced #6)
Even though The Black Raven 5 was more interesting than #6, neither game convinced me to throw both legs over the fence.
I have heard the same complaint from a ton of Solitaire fans who say they would purchase every one of these games if they would just add an option that allowed us to remove all the cards from the board. I can't believe it would be that difficult to add this option and it would attract more solitaire fans, right?
The Black Raven 6 has no new features. There are still only 3 Shop items that cost a ridiculous amount of coins: a Mulligan (Undo) for 2500, a Shuffle for 8000, or a Joker to purchase for 5000. They offer the same 9-card graphics & 3 Font styles, and you still have to start the game in Newbie Mode before you can play in the Pro Mode, not to mention that the board backgrounds are identical in all of the Black Raven games.

I've never been a fan of these solitaire games by 8 Floor because they never offer an option to continue removing cards after all the Special Cards have been removed. Since Big Fish offered The Black Raven 5 & 6 at the same time, I tried both versions; and #5 was definitely far more challenging, and I was replaying almost every level during the demo! Brave Giant Studios was one of my favorite HOPA developers back in the day. I was absolutely delighted when they dipped their toes back into the Big Fish pond waters with Crowded Mysteries. Although Crowded Mysteries is not a HOPA, it is a really cool Hidden Object game where you are tasked with finding crimes that have been committed throughout a crowded city.
🍬 🎀 𝙂𝘼𝙈𝙀𝙋𝙇𝘼𝙔 🎀 🍬
Magic City is one large, black-and-white scene that can be zoomed & dragged around to search for clues and crimes that meet the descriptions you are given. As you click on things related to the crime, those items are colored in (if they are the correct items in the correct timeline) All tasks can be accessed by clicking on the Notepad on the bottom right of the screen. Depending on the difficulty mode chosen, Hints are available by clicking on the Lightbulb in the top left corner.
Some crimes require help from your colleagues in various departments, such as the forensics team. You can search for the Police Station manually or click on the Shield Icon (top left, next to the Hint Icon), which takes you directly to the Mystery City Police Department. Some cases require you to solve a simple mini-game or puzzle.
🎀 🍬𝙎𝙊𝙇𝙑𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘾𝙍𝙄𝙈𝙀🎀
The Chief of Police will send you to investigate various crimes that have occurred throughout Mystery City. After locating a specific crime that matches the brief descriptions given, you'll need to search for the responsible criminal so they can be brought to justice. Once the criminal has been identified, you'll need to retrace their steps to figure out their motive.

Legendary Tales 3: Stories is presented in a different format than typical Five BN Games. Each chapter has a different story about different characters. At first, the stories seem random with no common denominator, but if you pay attention, you'll begin to notice that each story intertwines with one another in one timeline or another!
Five BN Games is undeniably the only HOPA developer remaining who hasn't compromised on quality or quantity. Other developers have slashed the CE extras, shortened the game content, and made their games so cookie-cutter that they can be played blindfolded.
My favorite feature of this game is that I have to remember patterns and clues to solve some of the mini-games. I also love that the Hidden Object Scenes are like giant puzzles just waiting to be solved. They are challenging (but totally doable), they make you think, but they also make you feel like you've accomplished something great, which encourages you to push forward.
There are very few games on Big Fish nowadays that are worthy of a download, much less a review. Legendary Tales are worthy of both!

Completed Game: Approximately 4.5 hours
(including completion of all mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter)
18 Main Game Scene Locations +8 Bonus Chapter
Difficulty Range: Beginner-Intermediate
My Rating: 3.7 Stars
Does anyone else think it's weird that two different developers released a Cinderella-themed HOPA in the same week? If they are competing, Elephant Games definitely won this round!
I love it when someone takes a well-known fairytale and completely twists the plot. This is truly a Cursed Fable, and it is far better than Domini's "Connected Hearts: Cost of Beauty" (if the glass slipper fits...) The graphics are really good, there's a good variety of Hidden Object Scenes, and the tasks weren't as repetitive because they involved more than the typical Elephant emblem placement scenarios.
COLLECTIBLES: (CE Bonus Chapter only)
There are 12 Collectible Handmade Toys that Stella makes to give to the children of those less fortunate. These are easily missed because they don't appear out of place in the scenery. You can always check the map to see if you missed a collectible, and in the worst-case scenario, any missed collectibles can be picked up in the Expedition Room after completing the game.
Each scene has an opaque Hand Fan that converts into a Jigsaw Puzzle piece to assemble a 24-piece Jigsaw Puzzle. The fans are quite large, but I must admit that it took me a few minutes to find some of them! Any missed puzzle pieces can also be picked up in the Expedition Room as well.
HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES:
I'm usually not a fan of the HO Scenes by Elephant Games because the objects practically scream "Pick me!" These were pretty decent and there's a lot of variety, such as Interactive List Finds, Swatches, Spot the Differences, Silhouetted Shapes, Multiples of the same objects, and Find & Replace scenes. I really enjoyed a scene in a storybook where you had to find an out-of-place item and place it in the correct location. Some of the objects' locations were not so obvious which isn't usually the case.
MINI-GAMES:
The mini-games were a bit on the easy-breezy side, such as selecting partial symbols that when combined would match the symbol shown, Matching pairs of identical cards in a memory match game, Swapping puzzle pieces, or Coloring a picture by selecting the color of thread with the same symbol. One of the mini-games had instructions that explained that horizontal was from side to side and vertical was up and down...if you don't know the directional movements of vertical & horizontal, I doubt the puzzle's gonna get solved! ὃ
BONUS CHAPTER: (Collector's Edition version only)
Our favorite Fairy Godmother returns to help the Kind organize a Charity auction, there's just a teeny-tiny bump in the road when the paintings to be sold go MIA...nothing a little bit of magic can't solve, right? There are 6 Hidden Object Scenes and 7 Mini-games that take place over 8 additional scenes. You will search for the remaining 3 Collectibles and 5 Hand Fans that allow you to complete the 24-piece Jigsaw Puzzle.
5 Wallpapers, 1 Screensaver, 5 Music Soundtracks, 20 Achievements (some of which are available in several increments) 13 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 13 Replayable Mini-games, 12 Collectible Toys, 24 Hand Fans that convert to Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, a Secret Room with a 24-piece Jigsaw Puzzle to assemble, an Expedition Room to search for any missed Collectibles or Hand Fans, 5 Main Chapters, a Bonus Chapter, and a built-in Strategy Guide.

Oh, rats! Looks like Cinderella is still living with her evil stepmother after all these years! There's always great potential when creating a story based on such an infamous Princess, so I downloaded the demo and prepared for an amazing fairy tale adventure.
The beginning cutscene may or may not have been an important setup to the story. I have no idea what the movie clip was about because I spent the whole time in a mad click-fest, trying to get rid of a popup window prompting me to click on a collectible. The popup was smack dab in the middle of the screen, and obviously, there was no collectible in a cutscene. Therefore, I couldn't get rid of the popup until the movie clip was over. Oddly, this is the same glitch as the last Connected Hearts had almost a year ago!
The first magical scene finally arrived! To my dismay, there weren't any adorable bluebirds playfully encircling my head whilst singing joyfully. My best friends Gus and Jaq were sarcastically referred to as "rats," and I can't help but feel a bit suspicious of my stepsister's cat...could have something to do with the fact that it has glowing green eyes.
I quickly realized my dreams were not going to come true when I had to douse the fireplace with a bucket of water, dig up a fresh pile of dirt, replace a water valve, find a way to melt the resin encasing a much-needed item, pluck nails out with a comb, and saw a tree and tape it to a wooden fork just so I can rake a small pile of dry leaves that somehow prevents me from lifting the garage door. It was, however, pretty magical to see a portable washing machine sitting in the middle of the garage, next to the Rolls Royce; you don't see that every day!
Since Domini's version of Cinderella was a bust, I thought it would be more interesting to mention some Walt Disney Cinderella Fun Facts instead.
•The name Cinderella comes from the French word Cendrillon, which in English translates to “little ash girl.”
•According to the third Cinderella movie, her shoe size is a woman’s size 4½.
•Cinderella held the title of the oldest Disney princess at 19 years old. Eventually, Elsa became the oldest princess at 21, but technically, Elsa became a Queen at her coronation. (Queen/Princess Elsa 21, Cinderella 19,  Tiana 19, Anna 18, Rapunzel 18, Raya 18, Pocahontas 18, Belle 17, Moana 16, Aurora 16, Ariel 16, Mulan 16, Merinda 16, Jasmine 15, Snow White 14)
•At the end of World War II, Disney was $4 million in debt, and Cinderella was considered to be a roll of the dice for Disney Animation. If the movie lost money, Walt may have had to cease making feature films and shut down Disney Animation.
•Cinderella was Disney's greatest box office success since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, earning nearly $4.28 million in distributor rentals (the distributor's share of the box office gross) from the United States and Canada. It was the fifth highest-grossing film released in North America in 1950.
•Disney does not own the stories of Snow White or Cinderella. The company could not register copyright that would prevent anyone from using the underlying story. Disney does own the copyright to the animated films it made featuring those characters.
•Cinderella never asked her Fairy Godmother for a prince...she asked for a night off and a dress!  (seems legit :)

After playing 5 to 6 levels in the demo, I realized I was clicking to play the next level on autopilot and wasn't really enjoying the game. I just can't put my finger on what it is that I didn't like. The graphics are decent, there are a ton of specialty features, and I thought it was funny that the Raccoon Mascot had donned several touristy outfits.
I love HOGs such as Christmas Wonderland, Vacation Adventures, and Nature Escapes, which have similar mechanics and features, but I usually have to force myself to stop playing those and this game made me force myself to keep playing!...(see my full review at thewoodsforum.boards.net)

I have been playing Christmas Wonderland every year for 14 years! Christmas Wonderland marks the start of the holiday season for me because It isn't Christmas until a new Christmas Wonderland arrives!
Yes, it's a cheesy Hidden Object Game centered around a Pinecreek Hills family that never ages; yes, it's filled with lots of glittery Christmas bling, Christmas cheer, and holiday traditions, but there's just something about it that draws you in, year after year...read my full reviews at store.steampowered.com/curator/44227659/
