It's a beautiful day at the park until a creepy kid appears out of nowhere and creates a vortex portal and vacuums up all the kids. You are holding your daughter Cathie's hand so tightly that you are sucked into the portal as well! None of the children are in sight but you suspect they are being held captive in the mysterious castle just behind those ancient gates. I would have given this game a higher rating because the story is good and there are plenty of HOS and mini games, but, every time I used the map to travel to a different location, it took forever leaving me staring at a black screen. I wasn't impressed with the graphics either. The HOS are interactive list finds as well finding the item that matches the silhouetted shape, and just about every scene had a hidden object game. There are a lot of mini games as well, although nothing new, they are classic puzzles such as matching the bottom to the top teeth of a lock or jumping three tiles from the bottom to the top and the top tiles to the bottom by jumping over tiles. This is just a standard edition game so there aren't any collectibles or morphs, but it does offer a bonus section that can only be accessed by purchasing so unfortunately there's no info on what that might be yet. If you can overlook a few glitches and the bad acting at times then this game has an interesting story involving vampires, (and pet elephants too!?) enjoy!
I recommend this game!

I am what you call a puzzle freak, I can put a 1000 piece puzzle together in a few hours time, so naturally I'm a fan of Royal Jigsaw and I never lose a single piece. I love the features available such as ghosting a picture in the background or hanging the image to the side. You can modify any of the puzzles where you choose how many pieces and what shape the pieces come in. You can sort the pieces, choose just border pieces to start with or put some pieces in a box to free up some space. There are achievements to earn and you can change the color of the background. This game has 4 different boxes and each box has 22 pages of beautiful landscapes, people and animals so what are you waiting for, enjoy!

I will admit that this game took me about 15-20 minutes of playing before I got hooked. Basically you are given a category such as out of the garden or mammals etc. and then you have to spell the word they are looking for out of some jumbled letters. You can spell other words to get a hint in the form of a letter shown in the word they are looking for. In between sets they give you a scrambled word and you have to choose the category before the word is spelled one letter at a time.

Take a break from all the seriousness and find out who you are. This is a very quirky, game with unusual characters with bulging eyes and unique features. All kinds of craziness can be expected as you scour the town for clues of who you are. All memories of your identity are gone and you are flat broke which simply means you must help all the townsfolk in exchange for items you need. The quirky characters only mumble inaudible gibberish so you have to read the dialog and you need to refer to your journal for a list of tasks. The cartoonish graphics are quirky as well but I must say, I thought the graphics were way better in the City of Fools. There are several types of hidden object scenes and mini games, mostly finding items that match the picture in the inventory, but I found it amazing how well hidden some items were even though the graphics were so simplistic. The mini game I liked the best was putting a counter together by correctly placing different shaped boards. In my opinion this was a great change of pace, kind of like sitting down and watching a cartoon on Saturday morning just for grins and giggles, enjoy!

Ellie and Ian have found the portal and they are homeward bound, or so they think! I absolutely loved the CE but this is a fantastic adventure game in any format. I really like the unusual features this game has to offer especially with the HOS. Each hidden object scene has several mini games within to solve. When you zoom into a close up scene you will find mini games that need to be solved before finding an item such as finding and using several codes on a lock but, you have to figure out which two pictures to put together to form the correct combination. Each hidden object has several mini games to interact with. Although the mini games aren't really new, they are fun, and some of them require you to interact with them until you figure out what needs to be done such as a radio panel with lot's of dials and knobs and bits and pieces of clues. You have to tinker with different dials etc. until the radio is working, with very little clues available. The graphics are beautiful and the story is good, the continuing saga in which Ellie is trying to find her father who disappeared, and along with Ian find their way back to Earth. I don't think you can go wrong with either edition, enjoy!

You have been knocked out cold, as you slowly come to, shaking away the haze and fogginess, panic suddenly snaps you back to reality for this is your wedding day and your bride is missing! The only clue you have is a single train ticket clutched in your hand. You barely board this mysterious train as it is leaving the station, destination...Hades! Your dear bride is now dearly departed and the transporter of souls, Charon, vows to return your bride (hopefully alive) in exchange for the capture of his most elusive murderers to face his judgement. Kudos for a fresh story line! I love everything about this game, however there isn't enough substance to qualify this as a collectors edition. The HOS are interactive list finds and the items are nicely concealed. Most of the mini games are new, such as re-arranging colored glass gems to match a shadow of a man holding a lantern. You have a lens that helps you "see" ghostly areas and people, but other than some wallpaper and a strategy guide, it isn't enough in my opinion to qualify for CE worthiness compared to other games of recent so I will probably wait for the SE. Awesome story though, enjoy!

I have just recently returned to play some of these timeless HOG games and have found that I really like this style of game. I have played the newer versions such as Return to Ravenhearst and absolutely love the twisted story, but I passed on this game several times because I didn't feel there was enough adventure for my taste. To my surprise I really had fun searching all of the rooms for clues even with that timer clicking away. After searching each room you had to solve a puzzle or mini game where several gadgets needed to be tinkered with, no instructions other than figure out what needs to be done, frustrating but completely entertaining.

Prince Phillip didn't plan on this Wedding glitch. On the day before the Wedding, the Prince shoots a silver arrow into the sky and whomever's window it lands upon is to be his bride! The problem is (other than the fact that you only have one day to prepare a wedding) the arrow was stolen by a shapeshifter, Basil, disguised as a panther! Who is he working for? Do you still get to marry the Prince? This is another great fairy tale adventure with beautiful pastel colors and cute animals such as the lingbeast who can translate any language, human or animal. The HOS are a mixture of finding the item that matches the silhouetted shape and then using that item to find the next item, and putting items back into the scene. The mini game I liked the best was the water cups, you had to figure out which way the water would flow into the cups because each cup would pour the water in the opposite direction and then choose which spot it would come out at. The next time the cups could be moved in large groups so you had to arrange the cups correctly to end up in the stationary cup at the bottom. If you are a fan of the fairytale genre then give this adventure a try, enjoy!

I feel confident that you are going to buy this game after a mere 15 minutes of playing if not sight unseen! Lynn has been using her magic for good things even healing people in her neighborhood, and her new boyfriend has made her happier than ever! Things quickly turn to chaos when Elizabeth returns and warns that Witch Hunters are after Lynn. Elizabeth isn't known for her honest nature but with the help from that adorable Imp, we're off to another fantastic adventure! There are 40 puzzle pieces to find before putting together and 35 well concealed morphing objects to spot. There are plenty of achievements such as using your Imp to help you 8 times. There are 30 hidden object scenes and they are interactive list finds. The puzzles are really fun I especially liked the one where you had to move a lens to a particular spot on a map by using arrows. The up arrow moved 1 space, the down arrow moved 2 spaces, the left arrow moved 3 spaces and the right arrow moved 2 spaces. This is a quality game with all the bells and whistles you could ever want, beautiful crisp graphics and entertainment from start to finish, enjoy!

I love the Mystery Case Files series, so simple and so fun. You are a detective ( of course!) with the famous motto: To Seek And Solve. A murder has taken place and you have to search several locations such as the bookstore or firestation. Each location has several hidden object "clues" and you have to find all of the hidden objects in all of the locations within 20 minutes. After all of the items have been found you will need to solve a mini game, usually a puzzle of some kind to solve the mystery. This is a quality game that is fun from beginning to end, enjoy!
