Wow, this was one of those games that just went on and on, so much so that I never finished it. This was the only time I didn't finish a game after having so much time invested in it.
Graphics & voice overs were unimpressive. They most certainly did not instill any horror, bloodcurdling fear or feelings of dread as the game description states. The dialogue started out being consistent with the historical period, but that quickly got lost as the game progressed.
The story line had huge holes in it and I kept having to remind myself what the story was about. The puzzles & HO scenes just didn't seem to mesh with the telling of the story. It felt like one big thrown together mess.
I actually had a bit of trouble with the hidden object scenes until I realized I had to use items from my inventory to solve the HO scenes.
Collecting items to make potions was okay the first couple of times, but then it became boring and a nuisance.
The map was totally useless; I think I referred to it only once. When I had no idea where to go, which was most of the time, I would use the hint button. Many actions and use of objects were illogical.
I own a few other games from this developer and really enjoy them. I know every game can't be a winner, but the Untold Story of Elizabeth Bathory was a real dud in my opinion.

I won't give away any parts of the game as others do. This is just a quick mention for an engaging game that I played non-stop until I was finished.
The story line is beautifully woven and ties up neatly at the end, which is so important to me. I'm not sure why someone would say the plot was hard to follow, but then I'm geared to this genre of game.
Graphics were excellent, as were the voice overs. The puzzles were entertaining although fairly easy. Hidden object scenes were nothing new but items were clear to identify and scenes were easy to breeze through. The hint button recharged quickly.
I hope you'll give this game a try -- I heartily recommend it!

This time out, my own review will be short. While Smithsonian Castle's story line was interesting, I just couldn't get into the washed out, hand drawn graphics. And hand drawn hidden objects are even worse in my opinion.
There was nothing outstanding, or over the top, with this game. Music, hidden object scenes, puzzles, hint button, etc were all standard fare. I did appreciate the locking inventory, which some developers still leave out.
This isn't a bad game, it's just not extraordinary. By all means, go ahead and try it for an hour and see what you think.

First, let me say I enjoy an occasional arcade game if the graphics have all the bells and whistles. However, Lucky Luke is another of those retro arcade type games that totally misses the mark.
Graphics are cartoon-like and really poorly drawn. The game MIGHT be based on physics as mentioned in the description, but the clunky mechanics get in the way of that. I felt more frustrated than challenged.
I have seen two other games from this little known German developer and they also were of low quality with poor game play value.
You thought this would be just like any other investigation. But now you find yourself lost in a mysterious mansion brimming with strange creatures, comatose colleagues, and mysterious tentacles around every corner...

First, I own every previous Haunted Halls game. So my review is based on my total familiarity with this game series.
I honestly don't understand how people gave this 5 Stars unless they are new to these types of games or have never played any of the previous games in this series. And since I couldn't find too many good things about it, here are my reasons for my lowly One Star review:
* This is part of a series, but continuity was non-existent. There was no brief recap of what happened in the last game or any explanation of who Dr. Blackmore really is or where he came from.
* The creep factor has totally disappeared. There was nothing frightening or remotely disturbing in this release.
* The story line was poorly written, with big gaps in it. Perhaps this is what happens when a developer hires new talent/writers who know nothing of the previous games in a series.
* Graphics were simplistic, rather cartoon-ish, and animation was basic. The feeling of dread or horror was totally non-existent in this game.
* The optional Match 3 game was strange, not user friendly and a chore to play. Hidden object scenes, while interactive, were mediocre. I ran across several items that were not drawn very well at all. And, in one scene I was told to look for a can opener, but it turned out to be a flip-flop.
* The music was tame and really didn't add that feeling of impending doom that was present in the previous Haunted Halls games.
This will be the last Haunted Halls game I purchase even though there appears to be a chance for a sequel. I don't recommend wasting your money on this one -- it would be better spent purchasing the first two games in this series.

First, if you're looking for a Solitaire game with an intricate story line, then DO try Hearts Wild Solitaire. This game however, is rather lacking on story but great on special effects and music. So much so, that I really didn't care about the story while I was playing.
Card faces are easy to see, and there are plenty of sparkles and hoopla when you play each card. I see others didn't care for that, I thought that was a delightful feature.
Music is hauntingly lovely but may become annoying to some. I switch it off for a while as I'm playing but end up turning it on again.
Others mentioned there are no goals in this game, but they're wrong. Your goal is to find all the hidden items under completed stack of cards and to get 3 gold stars for each hand. As you rack up points you can purchase different types of wild cards to help you achieve 3 gold star status.
I highly recommend you try the game for the full demo period. Some people like straight solitaire and there are plenty of those type out there. But this game has more bells and whistles and I highly recommend it. I've already completed it once and am starting over.

First, I own every single Delicious game ever made. It's been a fun journey watching how the graphics improved, how the game play was fine tuned, and how catching the cute pesky mouse and bonus content evolved. The humorous dialogue and funny facial expressions always made me smile. But, most importantly I've enjoyed watching Emily's roller coaster life through the years, and could probably name all her friends and family if given a few moments.
So, why only a 3-Star rating? As I stated, the story line has been a faithful continuation of each previous game. When we last heard from Emily, she had finally gotten married and survived a lot of crazy honeymoon hi-jinx. The next logical chapter should have been Emily and Patrick getting used to married life, having all sorts of newlywed predicaments, and then Emily finding out she's pregnant. However, that's not how the developers handled it. Suddenly, this release appears and Emily already has a baby. Maybe not a big deal to everyone else, but it was to me.
And this is where I believe Zylom had a big change of staff. The once great humor in the game has diminished. The cute details in the restaurant scenes are nothing like they were. There are no added little tasks or fun things to do while completing the level. We ARE able to snap a photo, but that's been done before, and certainly not a challenge.
There's just too much missing from this new installment of Delicious for me to be ecstatic over it. And it's definitely not worthy to be called a Collector's Edition. I do recommend the game because it's a true time management only game, and it has a stand-alone story line you can follow in case you haven't played any of the other Delicious games.

Egads! This developer needs to hire some new talent, and stop with the Christmas Wonderland thing already. I get the distinct feeling the meaning of Christmas is a foreign concept to them, because some of the scenes are rather odd. It fact the game kind of creeps me out.
Hidden object scenes are total junk piles in cartoon-like and hand drawn form. I found nothing "fun" about trying to sort through piles of junk looking for tiny or poorly drawn items.
And the scenes are just too colorful and busy, making it difficult to concentrate. There is basically no story line, dialogue is silly and the music is rather strange.
Considering it's a Christmas game, I just don't get a good feeling while playing it -- only a headache. Try it for 15 or 20 minutes and see what YOU think . . .

First, this is not a new game. I played it months ago on another game site but for this review, I re-installed it to refresh my memory of how bad it is.
I'm sorry, but this is just another horrible game from developer mzone solilab. They always suck you in with an intriguing title and story line, but the style and mechanics of their games quickly ruins any promise of quality entertainment. This is especially aggravating when you see what they do to timeless classics such as Les Miserables.
Playing is slow, vague, clunky and old school. A lot of times you are left wondering where to go and exactly what to do. Instructions, if there are any are not helpful at all.
The hidden object lists use a light, thin, script font that is hard to read and really tiresome on the eyes. Hidden objects themselves are often tiny or poorly drawn. The puzzles sometimes leave you wondering what to do, and are rather odd.
Graphics are either washed out or too dark, and the length of the game is very short with an abrupt ending. But how they mutilate the story is truly a shame.
If you have seen the movie or a live performance of Les Miserables, this game will frustrate you. I totally do not recommend it.
I don't recommend this game.

My review is based on my completion of this game. I agree with one of the other reviewers who commented on the setting for it. An abandoned shopping mall was perfect considering how many hidden object scenes there were. And there were a lot of them. As you visited each store in the old mall, you were blasted with two or three HO scenes for each location.
Graphics were morbid and creepy and the sound effects were perfectly matched. The voice overs were also quite well done. There was a map, notebook, challenging puzzles and a quickly-charging hint button. One especially nice feature -- there was not a lot of backtracking which I appreciated.
But for me, there were two issues that kept this from being a 5-Star game. Almost immediately, I knew who the kidnapper was. If I'm playing a mystery thriller game, I want to be baffled for a while trying to figure out who the villain is. So for this reason, I deducted a ratings star. The second issue was the inventory section that would not lock down. Every time I wanted to back out of a room, the inventory section would bobble up and down. This might not bother others but it was enough for me to deduct another star.
Faces of Vengeance was worth the $2.99 I paid for it. I recommend playing it if you like a serious story line and you don't mind tons of hidden object scenes.
