Each to their own, but I was surprised to see this game in the "Daily Deal" in only 8 months. I bought the game in Feb. 2013 and loved it, so it seems a little early to be in the daily special. Oh well, it was a great fun game with revisions from the original fairy tale but well done. Graphics were superb, story line fun, kind of just put you back then as a kid but with more flavor! I don't want to say more, after all it has already been said, I am just surprised that it is where it is so soon! Try it for yourself and if you like it go for it, you really are getting a deal and I don't think you will be disappointed.
I recommend this game!

I loved this game, ERS, you've done it again! One of the best graphic styles and character developments that I have come across ever in any of these games. The story takes us to the home of psychologist Dr. Gauss who has recently had a break in and a crystal skull has been stolen. As a result the skull belonging to Morpheus, the God of Dreams is now awake, and the nightmare has begun with paranormal phenomenon happening all around the place, many of which are bizarre. For eg: you press the intercom button and your finger oozes blood and then giant octopus tentacles envelope the gate!
You receive goggles designed by the secret service lab which are to be used to decode unusual symbols you find within the scenes. Once decoded there is a message such as: "Flamingos are afraid of loud sounds, scare them if you want to proceed." There is quite the variety of critters involved in the story as well as collections. There is a crab that helps untie knots and take out stitches, a frog wearing a bib that eats a red hot chili pepper causing fire in his mouth which melts wax on the top of a wine bottle. Once wine is opened and poured into a glass you later find a straw so that the frog can sip the wine. Just too crazy but so fun!!! You also collect 20 vials of different origins, eg: 5 love vials, 5 anger vials
Ho scenes are interactive eg: cotton pad dipped in nail polish remover takes nail polish off of the lid of a box so that it can be opened. Once open it contains a hand with painted fingernails all except for 1, you find a brush that is dipped in nail polish and complete the painted nails. Another fun character is a moose head that talks and asks you to turn on the TV so he can watch a soccer game. He also has an annoying chameleon who is hiding in his horn. A tea cup that hops around like a little bull and then later on you lasso its legs. It just goes on and on!!!
Mini games are different with enough challenge to entertain you, such as directing a mouse through a maze of lasers and matching video tape covers to the video story.
I only played the demo but there was so much there that I know I will be buying this one. Another favorite for me! See what you think.
I recommend this game!

Based on the demo only.
Arianna returns home to find her Kingdom taken over and the evil witch Morgana has bewitched everyone into thinking she is the Queen. She now is the only one who can save the Kingdom and in doing so must remove the magic border from the Dark Witch. Corvus, the helpful little frog wants to accompany Arianna as her Chronicle as does Froggie IV , King of the Frogs, who claims he could be very helpful to her along the way. Arianna must first find the recipe for a vision spell to remove the magic shield before she can travel to other Kingdoms. HO scenes are clear, but a lot of the items are quite small and hard to spot. Mini games are fairly easy and a nice touch was added with Match 3 games to find a special item. There was a diary, but no sign of map which surprised me seeing as Arianna needed to travel to other Kingdoms, however I'm sure there would have been one had it been necessary. Music started off great but after a while it became blaring in some spots and I had to reduce the volume. There were also three levels of play, casual, expert and hard core, I chose casual to start.
The only problem I encountered was that I had to go out of the game with 11 minutes remaining and when I returned the game did not allow me to continue where I left off, for some reason I had to start over which was disappointing. Other than that I found the game to be refreshing, light, fun and would definitely consider it a buy. Hopefully you too will find it enjoyable!
I recommend this game!

Sorry, I had trouble with this one from the get go! What is it, a game, a story or a spoof? Cartoon intro, too many bubble dialogues, weird music, no tutorial, and only a notebook to reiterate what you might have had trouble getting the gist of in the first place! Graphics after the cartoon effect were unusual but appealing and I thought hey, this might be a strange but fun game. But again I say what is it, really? Maybe I'm missing something, and maybe I should have stayed with it for the entire trial, but oh my...it exhausted me in 18 min. I value my sense of humor but wow this was bizarre, talk about a wake up call...dialogue such as the janitor's remark, "While trying to clean the fountain I lost my footing and had a bad fall with my dentures dropping out of my mouth, I need the faucet from the station operator's utility room!" This is just an example of other dialogue and to me it's just silly. Too much back and forth between train station platform, waiting room and railroad square that by the time you get through all that you don't care where the bloke is going, Grimville, where is that, not to mention the guy that wants to pick pocket for the train fare or whatever! We have been spoiled by the great games out there but sorry this one lost me, maybe you will endure the trial and enlighten me!
I don't recommend this game.

A good game with a different story line that right off attracted me. A nice change from the usual whodunit games. A mystery novelist is accused of murder and the crimes are similar to what he writes about in his books. His wife Samantha with the help of Russell, Robert's good friend join forces to bring down the real murderer.
Crisp, clear graphics, voice overs well done and music took on an eerie edge which gave the game that true suspenseful atmosphere. HO scenes were standard and while clear it was hard to find some items. Mini games were different but quite easy. There were 40 fingerprints and 25 teapots to find as well as other achievements throughout the game.
While I did enjoy the game, at times I found it to be a bit scrambly and slow. Lots of moving from place to place with too long on the loading time. Thank goodness for the map!
This review is only based on the demo but it had enough there to warrant a buy but I think I will wait for the SE, as it just didn't have that CE appeal.
I recommend this game!

A good fun game, not too difficult but with a great story line to hold your interest. Lots of achievements but the best ones are those "creepy little eyes" called Observers and hey, you need to find 164 of them! If you are a little squeamish then this isn't for you, but nonetheless it does make for a lot of fun along the way. You are about to be married when your fiance suddenly disappears into another dimension and your mother-in-law to be is poisoned...wow the intrigue is too much! As the story progresses you come to realize that your fiance has kept a lot of secrets and is really quite the Mad Scientist! Game is fairly easy with lots of HO scenes and mini games all of which are quite simple. Hand drawn graphics are great and music ties in nicely to the game play. Good map to follow as well. There is a little dragonfly that helps you remove toxic fumes from locations by processing poison gas into harmless energy spheres. Not sure about the cat however? This game offers good entertainment, nothing really special, similar to other games, but you are kept interested mainly because of the story line. A good one for beginner HO fans.
I recommend this game!

A lovely game reminiscent of the Dark Parable series. Gorgeous graphics, colors superb, music tasteful and wonderful characters, not much to dislike about this one. As the story goes, we hear that young girls of a certain age are disappearing and a crooked man and his crooked cat are the suspects. It seems the crooked man was once engaged but due to certain circumstances lost his fiance. His total devastation at his loss sends him on a quest to find her, and in so doing he kidnaps young girls of the same age in his attempt get her back. The HO scenes are similar to the parable games which I have always found delightful, mini games are not too difficult but different with a riddle aspect to them, making them more interesting and fun. The map helps you move from place to place as there is a lot of back and forth at times. There are 20 morphing objects to find as well. This CE version offers a bonus game play chapter about Humpty Dumpty's curse and also bonus puzzles. You can choose the CE version or wait for the SE, either way it will be an entertaining acquisition. For me it now tops my list of favorites. Enjoy!!
I recommend this game!

I reviewed the CE and was not that wowed by it so I was a bit hesitant to even bother with playing or reviewing the SE version...however I did. Well, yes you get a bonus chapter, extra hour of play, monster portraits to collect, extra HO scenes & mini games etc. etc. but if you weren;t enthralled with the game to begin with, what difference are the extras going to make in your overall opinion? Other than having them pointed out which I am sure is helpful for some, won't really make you change your mind from your original critique. Sorry this game to me was a disappointment, but hey, you be the judge of that!
I don't recommend this game.

Another beautiful game from Eipix! As the Child of Spring you are sent on a quest to stop Morana, the Goddess of Winter from controlling the world by keeping it in an everlasting state of freezing ice and snow. She has kidnapped Vesna, the Goddess of Spring and you, through the help of Baba Yaga, a wise old woman need to save the world from eternal Winter. You rescue a little ermine who becomes your friend and helps you along the way. And as your pal you can buy him/her accessories and trinkets with tokens found throughout the story. Good map helps you move from place to place. Game play is fun, with lots to do. HO scenes are crisp and clear with 2 play modes, regular list with some interaction and silhouettes. Mini games seemed a bit too easy but still okay. And as is Eipix standard, voice overs and lip syncs were great, which always gives you a sense of realism. It was so easy to get immersed in this game. Its fantasy quality was captivating without being ridiculously soppy. It could actually be made into a wonderful animated movie. I will definitely put this on my to buy list!
I recommend this game!

Your fiance has been abducted and you must find him! An interesting trip to Prague and all kinds of excitement and challenges await you in your quest. I liked this game! I admit there was a certain deja vu about it, but I couldn't quite place it. Anyhow, the game play does have a few slow moments but the intrigue of the story keeps you wanting to go on. It is easy sometimes to get bored with too much dialogue but with this one, the information is valuable and you need to pay attention as it helps you through the story. If you skim over it you could miss something you will need to know or do later. The mini puzzles were easy and at first I thought the HO scenes were as well, but they became interesting with 3 different modes, standard listing, putting items where they belong and finding numbers of things. The game's clarity was great and the music was pleasant and not overpowering. Overall no fancy bells or whistles in this one, just a fun game that you need to take a chance on.
I recommend this game!
