What a fun game and so different from the usual. I wasn't sure at the beginning as the graphics were a bit too cartoon like but as the story commenced it was easy to get hooked. HOS were fun and hard enough to be a challenge as were the mini games. With no real instructions you really needed to use your thinking cap. I really enjoyed them because they were not the usual run of the mill. I especially liked matching up the cupcakes. The use of the mobile phone was very creative and for a change it was nice having no map. This game overall was very entertaining and strangely enough relaxing. Music was not overwhelming, it just kind of made you drift from scene to scene solving puzzles, playing HOS and seeing where it all ended up. Happy gaming with this one.
I thought this was going to be another SE gem that we have been so fortunate to experience of late, but such is not the case. While the story had lots of potential it did not seem to be developed well. Too many HOS and mini games and not new ones at that. As there were so many it just made the game drag on with very little happening. Graphics were not the greatest and it was difficult locating certain HO. Music eerie but had little effect on the story or excitement about it. Dialogue poor in parts with words left out of sentences and voices lacking in realistic expression. As I was not familiar with the developers it seemed like they had it all in the plan but tried too hard to come up to par with the newest games out there today that the execution came across with poor presentation. And to boot the trial ended 10 minutes short of the hour with indications of what was to come as well as a bonus section if you bought the game. There wasn't enough wow factor within the trial to excite me into buying so the whole thing fell flat. No folks this is not for me, but I do hope to see more of these developers in the hopes of improvement. This seemed to me to be a case of first try and I believe everyone deserves a second go around.
Most of you already know this story so for me to review it for you again would be pointless. I simply want to share with you my overall feelings in regards to both games. For starters this sequel did indeed enlighten me! After having played the first "Botanica, Into the Unknown" (not CE) I have to admit that I had some difficulty along the way with it. Not sure why, it just seemed to push my comfort zone beyond! I loved the story, the graphics were great, yet the developers fell short on authenticity with the characters. They were believable, had definite personalities yet were somewhat chartoonie which I felt took away from the overall quality of the game. I did have some difficulty with puzzles but that in itself is not a critique, I, personally just struggled. I remember persevering despite my frustration and yet at the end found myself looking forward to the sequel. Well, hurray, I'm glad because I enjoyed it to the end and had so much more fun with the characters, feeling like I already knew them well. This to me is a special quality that the developers portrayed giving the sequel that much more credibility in its storyline despite the same cartoon like effect of the characters. The flow from one game to the next was fluid and even gave a brief review of the previous game to get you going again. Well done!! Whatever happened in the first game came together for me in this sequel. The struggle factor left me entirely! Maybe I just needed to go through the growing pains on this one to really appreciate and get the total picture. But hey, I'm glad I hung in there, I ended up loving the entire story and I hope you fellow gamers do too! Both adventures are worth the enjoyment!
Who am I is an immersive hidden object adventure of an epic scale! Take the role of an undercover agent investigating strange sci-fi incidents in the city.
Sorry, this reminded me so much of "City of Fools" that I couldn't even finish the trial. Somehow this type of game doesn't do it for me but I have to give credit for those that see the humor. Kudos!! It is a silly game, the mumbo, jumbo verbal is annoying and yet I'm sure the story is really trying to tell you something. I guess I enjoy and rely too heavily on the sophisticated suspense, adventure type games that I lose my sense of humor, for that I apologize. "City of Fools" had a terrific rating so I can only assume I am missing something. However, I only wanted to comment on this because I hope there are others out there that feel as I do? For those that don't, enjoy!!
Well folks, this is an amazing game! I am reviewing this with 20 minutes left on the trial because to be honest, it will be a buy for me from the get go! I can't even go into the story line because you need to do that for yourselves and you will know that too much information would spoil things. There is amazing detail in this game, wonderful graphics, beautiful HOS with vivid color and clarity, and a sophistication that I have not seen in any game thus far. Puzzles offer difference from other puzzle games but not so much that you hardly notice, the game is that good. There is a map and all the other stuff that helps us through our games but you know, my whole point is to get you to try for yourselves...I'm off now to finish my last 20 min.of trial.

My review is based on the demo and while in my opinion it isn't the most well put together game nor the most exciting, it does have an appeal that makes you want to keep going. I found the graphics clear, entertaining music and an interesting story line. Hidden object scenes were busy but clear enough to locate everything and they were also interactive. There was a map that was helpful and a journal that tracked what was going on in case you may have missed something. I did find some of the puzzles a bit challenging which is good, keeps the old grey cells working. I don't think it necessary to go into the story as that has already been done so for me I would just like to encourage you gamers to give this one a try. I thank BFG for some of these little SE gems and would like to see them keep coming.
I recommend this game!

Fall of the New Age
Help Marla uncover the secret conspiracy of the Cult and release her brother from captivity!
Yet another surprise with this one! Almost missed it but glad I didn't as it turned out to be a very well put together game. Subject matter a little on the dark side but considering the Medieval times it was appropriate. Graphics were crisp and clear, music suspenseful and characters believable. HOS were set up differently which was a nice change and putting together a disguises was a lot of fun. Puzzles as well were not of the usual and just made for a whole new gaming experience. The little weasel or otter that is your hint added a cute touch, there was just so much going on to hold your focus that the trial ended and I wanted more. This will definitely be a buy for me.
You came to the town of Brownville, Louisiana hoping to find a new job. But you weren't expecting to stumble upon a strange adventure in a world filled with beauty and danger!
Interesting and unique storyline and for the most part executed well. However, I felt somewhat trapped in my dilemma on this one. Graphics were good but not as crisp as in other games and I'm not sure the music really fit the overall theme. Characters also seemed to be lacking in their delivery, just not realistic enough for me. Lots of color, lots of explosiveness and lots of excitement, but somehow lacked the charisma to make it a stand out game. HOS were cluttered with many small objects that were difficult to pick out, but, there was some interaction to take away the total boredom. Mini games fairly easy and nothing really new. I only went as far as the demo and I will play the SE demo once out as I am not convinced this has the wow factor for a CE. Give it a try for yourself, maybe I missed something and the full game will give it more justice, but for now I am not anxious to go out and buy it. To me a disappointment!
Based on Demo I had trouble connecting with this one. Good enough story line, but did not see it going anywhere. No voice overs, just bland visual facials and lines that led to no character development at all. Very slow moving, music didn't add to the overall atmosphere either. Lots of mistakes in spelling which made it seem like a first attempt at the big leagues! At times I was confused as to what to do or where to go and frankly I almost gave up before the demo was over. Sorry, I think it had some potential with the storyline but fell short in its presentation. HO scenes were quite cluttered, reminding me of older games, yet puzzles were quite well done and offered a challenge. Somehow it came across like someone really wanted to put together a good game but in so doing gave us stuff from the past with very little sophistication that today's games deliver. It won't be a buy for me!
I don't recommend this game.

Secret Trails: Frozen Heart Collector's Edition
Your surprise visit is ruined by a blizzard. Who caused it, and what does he want with your little sister?
Fun game, not too complicated. Great graphics, would have loved to see a full screen but hey, it worked as it was! Your sister's environmental curiosity caused her to overstep her boundaries and now the weather man is after her and yes, he gets her! Weave your way through trials and obstacles to try and save her. I particularly loved the map, it gave you the option of going to a location but just in case it wasn't where you wanted to go, you could change your mind without going all the way back. Sometimes you needed to flash back from the catacombs to the barn and without the map, well, the easy maneuverability saved the day! Mini games were different and some quite challenging. HO scenes okay, some clearer than others, some with very tiny items that made it seem cluttered, but overall reasonably fun. This game had a fun feel, kept you wanting to go on, but just did not have the wow factor that we have come to expect in a CE edition. But it's all about having fun, and this one did it for me!
