When I had an opportunity to play the Beta for this, I was not thrilled with the beginning, and remembered I hadn't loved the first one in the series. Fortunately, I read some positive reviews for this, and purchased it hoping it would improve as the game went on. It certainly did! I believe it's 75% better than the first one and although I haven't finished the game as yet, I'm interested in what happens next, and if the marked and unmarked will ever come to terms, and will the villain finally get his comeuppance. It's easy to play, direction is clear, puzzles are varied. I love the game and recommend it.
I bought this game before there were even any reviews, and after demoing only the very beginning just to make sure it worked, because I have the others in the series, and have enjoyed playing them two or three times. I'm not even through the first mystery, and my eyes are killing me and my frustration level is through the roof. I don't mind hard, but when I have to use a hint, and can't even see the object WITH the hint (just click in that location), it means they are too faint. Things are differently colored than the picture list, and much too hard to see. I don't know that I'll play any longer, and I was so happy to see this release! I certainly do NOT recommend it.
Purchased this as a Daily Deal, so I suppose I shouldn't complain too much. However, a solitaire game should have some relationship to reality when it comes to a deck of cards. This does not. There is little skill involved in this at all; it is mainly a game of chance where the odds are definitely in the dealer's favor as you may have 10 or 12 of one card in the deck, and nothing that you can use. I know it's an old game, but I still felt compelled to give my opinion. It's a bad game.

I'm downloading this after purchase as I write, without doing the demo, because after playing the beta (which I did not want to end), I wrote a note to myself, as I do after playing betas: "Even though there are puzzles that I may need help with, the story is interesting, and captured my attention immediately – and since the “suspect” is supposed to have died 5 years before, it is a real mystery. Want to know what happens next. Easy to play, good graphics – sound could be clearer, but more than acceptable. Buy this when it is released which I hope is very soon." It wasn't soon enough, but I'm glad it's here now.

I tried twice to play this game because I have all the previous games and had been looking forward to whatever came this year. However, the story line makes me believe the developers all threw some ideas into a hat, and picked out the first twelve, and mashed them together. The graphics and music are fine, and the puzzles so so, but it's just too silly. Too silly.

I was so happy to see this latest installment of the series this morning. Bright colors, happy faces, bouncy music, and pretty much mindless entertainment. By that, I mean, I can play it and stop any time without losing track of a story, or forget how to use a gimmick. It's just great fun, and the kids get to go to a couple of new places this year. I have all of these, and play them again, every December.

I thought this game was great fun. Some elements of spookiness, but with a protagonist like Rick, you know it isn't going to be too serious. It was perfect for my current mood, when I wanted to play a game, but did not wish too many difficult challenges. I liked the graphics, the music and background sounds did not annoy me, which is always nice and the bonus was a sequel! I thank whatever reviewer mentioned that because it led me to buy the game. I hate "prequels," so was happy about this. I enjoyed it so much that I'll probably go back and play the first one again.

Bought this game in spite of the annoying sound (may be turned off) and sometimes very tiny objects, and objects at the extreme left of the scene so hidden under the side bar, because It's one of those mindless games without a real story line, when I just want to turn off from the world. Unfortunately, I will never finish the game, as some of the "awards" will never come my way. One is for playing 15 Anagram levels without a hint. I've now played approximately 24 of them, and still no award, and awards are necessary to actually make all the purchases and finish the game. I "bought" this with a coupon and am very glad i didn't spend money on it.

I was happy to see this release after having done a Beta. I liked the story line, the different HOS, and even the sound. Characters were a little stiff, and it was more than usually apparent that English was not a first language for the developers, but I didn't care. I wanted to know what happened next, and now I do. That was most satisfactory. Then came the bonus game. A prequel. I hate prequels, and didn't bother playing more than a few minutes. I wish I had waited for the SE and I wish that BigFish could put that information on the game page - that is, an idea of what the bonus game is. I recommend this game for anyone who likes prequels; if not, wait for the SE because the main game is a lot of fun.
I'm afraid I only played the demo until I came to the slightly ridiculous face search in someone's computer. I decided that the glasses gimmick was bad enough, I didn't want to waste time figuring out the shape of the woman's eyes when I thought that's what the computer was supposed to do. I want to examine the body? OK...except, I don't do any such thing. And the "examination" of the room was so cursory, as to be useless. Furthermore, I had to sneak behind the coroner's back while he was looking at footprints, to steal something out of his bag? Oy. I'm assuming that the hot dog I picked up is either to feed a dog or a piranha, somewhere down the line, but I'm not interested enough to hang around and find out. The good thing was that I was able to open a zipper without trying to find a pin/paperclip/wire to do so.
