I purchased the "CE" for the extra games at the finish of the main game, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, after completing ALL levels, the "extras," which I paid for, remained locked. I recommend the game, but only in the SE version.
Started out with a dated feeling introduction about going off to Paris to become an artist. Slow moving, OK graphics, but nothing terribly appealing. Music unobtrusive. But then - I must flee from the police, climbing down a wall via bricks and if I choose the wrong one, I fall and have to start over again from the top. After falling 4 times, I decided I wasn't interested in waiting for the "skip." There are three choices for game play, but no custom, unfortunately. I usually opt for zero sparkles, but quick skips, which were not available here. Perhaps I might try again if there is a walkthrough, but I simply got bored.
This "review" is really just my notes to myself after playing the Beta version. I know that may be unfair, and it might have improved before its release. Horrible game – no option for custom preferences, very cartoon-ish, an interesting back story which drew me in, but no logic to game play at all, when we get to the old family home. Ridiculous puzzle involving Ben Franklin's kite experiment to solve a problem. Nothing appealing about the game at all. Slow moving and murky.
I loved the first few of these games, and played others, even when I felt they weren't as good. I love the artwork - the music is not unpleasant. The story is pretty cookie cutter, but it's a game. However, I will not put up with that grunting dwarf, ever again.
When I did a beta on this, I wrote myself a note that said simply, "Buy this!" I did. I loved the story line, the HO scenes with their slightly different take on the old standard, and as always, I enjoy the humor of this game. I had fun from start to finish in the main game, and didn't really want it to end. Hope there will be another adventure soon.
The bonus not so much, only because I had to skip opening a safe, even though the code was right there in front of me - but it wasn't the code that opened the safe. Still, it was a good game about ghosts.
Nothing really spooky about this - except those mannequins, which reminded me of a Dr. Who story, just a lot of fun. Even the background music fit.
I had been waiting eagerly for this game after playing the Beta version, and was happy when it was released, but it most certainly did NOT live up to my expectations. The story line was fine - as far as it went. Music was OK, and I liked looking at all the scenery. Puzzles were fine, nice HOs with a bit of difference, but the main story was going along and then BOOM! Over. No conclusion, no real ending, no answers at all. Terrible ending. It was as if the developers had said, "OK, we've written X pages. That's all. The end." And the bonus game, a prequel, was just as bad. If there was some hint that there was a sequel to this game, wrapping this up, it would be different, but as it is, I do not recommend this game, and will certainly not be playing it again, as I have all of the other Bridge games.
I've enjoyed this game more than any of the previous in the serieis - which is one of my favorites. Why? Because of the Match 3 option for almost everything! I am rarely interested in it for HOs, but some of the puzzles in this series, are ones that I hate, and to have a Match 3 option, is great. Also, the "diagnostic" tool is much improved. I liked the story line for both the main game and the bonus, which thankfully, is NOT a "prequel." The colors are acceptable, the music is unobtrusive and makes a nice background sound. Puzzles range from easy to medium, and I enjoyed the HOs. I think that Match 3 option for puzzles is terrific. I hope to see it in other games.

I haven't purchased a Phantasmat game since Curse of the Mist, and still won't. I did play the Beta and didn't like it, but thought perhaps it might have been improved a bit - it hasn't. There's no "Phantasmat" feel to this at all; it's just another cookie cutter scary monster game with nothing new and no surprises, and really, no suspense. It only took me 20 minutes of play, including the very long "intro," to realize that this was yet another Phantasmat game that is disappointing. Oh, for the feeling and atmosphere of that first, long ago, Phantasmat!
When I had an opportunity to play the Beta for this, I was not thrilled with the beginning, and remembered I hadn't loved the first one in the series. Fortunately, I read some positive reviews for this, and purchased it hoping it would improve as the game went on. It certainly did! I believe it's 75% better than the first one and although I haven't finished the game as yet, I'm interested in what happens next, and if the marked and unmarked will ever come to terms, and will the villain finally get his comeuppance. It's easy to play, direction is clear, puzzles are varied. I love the game and recommend it.
I bought this game before there were even any reviews, and after demoing only the very beginning just to make sure it worked, because I have the others in the series, and have enjoyed playing them two or three times. I'm not even through the first mystery, and my eyes are killing me and my frustration level is through the roof. I don't mind hard, but when I have to use a hint, and can't even see the object WITH the hint (just click in that location), it means they are too faint. Things are differently colored than the picture list, and much too hard to see. I don't know that I'll play any longer, and I was so happy to see this release! I certainly do NOT recommend it.
