I had a few problems with this game. First, it seemed like it was several years old. It does have a map. But not much you usually find in recent HO games. No alternate game play to an HO scene, etc. There were some coding errors which resulted in characters before every found object. I think it was an % and something else, can't remember. HO clues that didn't match the picture like mistaking a butterfly for a moth. I just wasn't enthused by the game feeling I'd played it several times before.
This is also a very short game. I was almost 1/2 way through in an hour of play.
You're on a train in the middle of nowhere, and a band of dangerous thieves demand you tell them where to find the Hope Diamond's shards. As the newest Hidden Expedition recruit, you've got to find the shards before they do...X
I'm a fan of the series and own all previous. This continued that excellent series. All the good things others have said are true for me as well. But there is a big problem for me - length.
I finished the demo in 45 minutes and that equates to 35% of the way through the game. So not even 3 hours for me. That's way shorter than previous games in the series and I don't buy games that are this short.

It's still early, but this will be the worst game of the 2014
Ditto everything said by the reviewers who didn't like the game. But I'll add some more. In the HO scenes, lots of mislabeling. Like they want you to find a screw, but the art shows a bolt, mosquito but the art shows a fly, "knot link" is really a cufflink. Then, there are some audio only clues which is fine unless you're deaf like I am. Others have said the constant pop up phone is an annoyance. No, it's way past annoying. The artwork is amateurish, the music is bad.
I thought the HOS and games were a bit on the easy side. What really troubled me is that with 23 minutes to go, I was 21% of the way through the game. That means under a two hour game for me. Do the math for yourself by looking what percent of the game you've completed when you click Play.
That's way too short of a game for me to consider buying.
I don't recommend this game.

Awakening Kingdoms
You are chosen by Queen Sophia to restore her kingdom back to its former glory through fun mini-games and beautiful hidden object scenes.
This is easily the worst game I've downloaded. I'm a huge fan of Boomzap and have most all of their games. But I didn't like the latest Botanica and now this one. I won all of the Awakening games and it's my favorite series.
This game, after a really long download, was in your face popups constantly. Click for your next quest! Click to get your rewards! Click to upgrade the door! There are popups everywhere you look. There is absolutely nothing related to any of the Awakening games except the art.
The more you like the series, the quicker you'll uninstall the game. I lasted 9 minutes.
I really hope Boomzap does a real next Awakening game.
This game was fine. Art was good, HOs were fine and the games were decent. But this is the second game I've reviewed lately which was way shorter than the norm. Hope this isn't a trend. I got to the dressing room in 43 minutes which means I got through 38% of the game in one hour. That's not even a 2 1/2 hour game for me and I won't buy anything that's over so quickly. Might be fine for a DD, but not at full price.
This was supposed to be the happiest day of your life. But instead of walking down the aisle, you're in another dimension, battling a mad inventor to save your family!
This was an OK game. Not cutting edge, but decent enough. Minis were way too easy so more for the person just starting out. The big problem for me was the length. I got to the bridge in 38 minutes which means this isn't even a 2 1/2 hour game.
I agree that the graphics were good. But I had a real problem with how to solve problems in the game. One example to illustrate my point. You come upon a tree that is hungry and wounded. The solve is to feed it a doughnut and then put a band aid on the wound. That's just silly and illogical.
Boomzap is far and away my favorite developer and this game is the first one I won't be buying. Two reasons. First, this just didn't feel as good of a game as the first two in the series. Nothing definite, just didn't like it. I was never immersed in the story like I was the first two. The second problem is more serious. I finished the demo in 59 minutes. The demo ends 38% of the way through the game. While the first two played at over 4 hours each, this is a 2 1/2 hour game, for me. Regardless of your pace in the game, it's a bit more than 1/2 as long as the first two.
I really hope this is an aberration and the next Boomzap game rekindles my great enthusiasm for their games.
I liked the graphics a lot on this one. HOS were on the easy side and a bit interactive. Puzzles were different and one of them took quite a while, a variation on the sliding tiles game. Can't speak to the music or voice overs since I'm hearing impaired.
Decent length as well. I got out of the house with 3 minutes to go. Based on the walkthrough, that's the 26% mark, so roughly 4 hours of game play for me.
