What a hoot! This game really taxes your abilities. The story is simple; you have crashed on an alien planet and it's just you and Oscar, your robot against the unknown world. There is a journal of sorts, a task list, a hint button for HO scenes and I don't remember if there was a skip for the puzzles since there was no reason to look for one. The stuff you gather is tiny and you must be thorough in your search of the scenes. Once you assemble Oscar, he is your biggest help. Open him up by clicking on DATA on his chest and select task. Each task will be written there with a question mark in front of it. If you click on the question mark it will tell you what you need and where to find it. This, in essence, is your hint button for what to do and where to go. The data part will give you an account of what you have encountered and what you should do with it somewhere in the future. About the items you collect in your travels; I'm assuming that you will use them before the game ends because it doesn't seem to be apparent at the time you pick them up. I did not find Oscar's voice annoying and the music was simply wonderful, very 2001.Periodically you hear spaceship noises. Everything fits with the scenario except for the graphics. Oh, my... Now I am not a science fiction buff and this game is a terrific challenge but I can certainly see why some did not like it at all. The graphics are terrible. There is nothing visually that pulls you into the game and gives you the feeling that you are there. They are much too cartoon-like for this day and age. With this game it is easy to give up and not care about trying. HO scene items are very difficult to find because of the way they are drawn. This is my only complaint. It takes a while to get it together and the demo ended while I was searching for the grappling hook to get the boat that the machete was in. Do give it a try and be patient.....
I recommend this game!

..that the games done from TV shows don't seem be as exciting as the shows? This one is no different except that, for me, it's the worst of the lot. There are two scenarios; you choose which one you want to play first. I picked the lost toy one. The colors were dark, with a purple cast to them. The people were like cut-outs on a stick moving in and out of the scenes. There are no voice-overs; you have to read the dialogue at the bottom of the screen and the conversation goes one and on. You could not navigate anywhere without the map to click on. Some of the puzzles were so tiny it took forever to finish them. (matching pills) and the other one I found I finished but nothing happened so I fiddled around with it for a while longer and then just skipped it to get it over with. The story was lost on me and failed to keep my interest. Casual and expert mode, a large inventory, a what-to-do list, a hint and a skip. A penalty for over-clicking in HO scenes. It made me wonder if anyone played this game at all before they released it.

I really liked this game a lot; I bought it as soon as the demo ended. The story is to investigate the scene of three murders at an vineyard in Truscany. (Strange that the grocer has no Italian accent) But you as detective must find out who and why before there is a number four, possibly you. The music was good; a little more sinister than Italian but still appropriate. The graphics weren't the best I've ever seen but they worked well, especially the scarecrows. There are three modes, which is becoming the norm, and a journal, a hint and a skip. There are a good many HO scenes and mini-games galore. Some of the HO scenes are the ones where you find silhouettes of things and then you have to use them to get through the rest of the scene. These are fun; I've run into them before. The voice-overs are good even the little dachshund. He had my dog, Spike, grumbling and looking for him. I am enjoying the was it is done but I noticed that there are only three chapters listed in the demo. This is definitely a must-demo.

I had to chuckle at the opening of this game. It was so seriously melodramatic, I just loved it! This is a solitaire game where you choose a card either one up or one down from what is on the playing pile. I like the old-fashioned solitaire best; it's more of a challenge to me. There are three different modes you can play in; I chose casual. As you play you fill up a tube and when it's full, you're on to the next level. Along the way there are cards that give you extra bonuses like an extra starting card, extra coins, extra tube filler, etc. There is also a penalty card that depletes your tube. There are locked cards and you must uncover the key cards to open the locks. There is a shop where you can buy power-ups and you gain achievements, also. You get credit for the first chain of five cards, 250 coins, a certain amount of stars. There are quite a few. There is always sonething to strive for. The playing field is pretty, you can choose your card backs and fronts and the music isn't obstrusive. I thoroughly enjoyed this solitaire

You're going to need it in this game. This is a really cute game and the graphics are truly magical. There hasn't been a game this clear in a while. The story is about a magician who has disappeared and you are the detective that has to find him. It's a fun carnival atmosphere without the usual kitchy circus music. The music is good in this one. The voice-overs are apropos and the weather is subtle. There are plenty of HO scenes and they are interactive. The items you collect are not immediately used so it's kind of fun wandering around looking for somewhere to use them. You have a book where the important stuff appears, a map inside the book, hint and skip. Two modes of play, casual and hard, hard having a misclick penalty. There are puzzles along the way that are rather simple during the demo I played; they're fun anyway You get to do the scenes more than once but you collect different things. It's kind of tame compared to some of the other games we've had recently but still worth a look see.

I can't wait to buy this one. I played the demo on casual. There is also advanced and hardcore on this one. The story is that there are evil dogs that are attacking people and stealing pets in this mountain town. You are to find out why and put a stop to it. Of course, your dog is taken and this is your impetus. There is a journal; I didn't see a map but you have the strategy guide. The music is appropriate and nice, the voiceovers are good, also. Environmental sounds are perfect. The graphics are good, you can feel the snow falling on you. The HO scenes are a bit grainy making it hard to find a few objects. But there's always the hint button which works very well with HO scenes and regular ones to tell you where to go. There are minigames that are good. They are (so far) kind of same old, same old, but a little more involved than regular. Untangling the lines was particularly interesting because ....well, I won't spoil it for you. It was fun. I can't wait to see how it ends. This is a must buy for me.

I found it a bit quirky. I didn't get the hang of it right away. There's no real explanation of what you need to do or where you need to go. You get to the diva's dressing room and then click around until you find something. The storyline begins with a poisoning of the opera company's diva. You now have to find the murderer in one night. You are a detective and you play a match3 until you are through with the current level. Then you get go to her dressing room and try to find out what to do there. It's not an HO scene but you eventually pick up some stuff. The second level nets you a bunch of flasks with different colored liquids in them and this triggers a minigame. This is as far as I got in the demo. It was a bit confusing as you really had to hunt and click to find out how to test for the poison and even then, it didn't always want to work right. It was an interesting game and I wish the demo had been longer. I would have liked to have seen what else the game contained. It's definitely worth a try. The music is beautiful and there is a music room where you can play the record albums you collect. That is so neat! It is really heavy on the match-3 aspect so if you don't care for match-3 you're not going to like this one.
I recommend this game!

I can only sit here and scratch my head; I have never seen a game like this. It started right away when I couldn't put my name in to identify myself, then continued with explanations sandwiched in between dialogue from the book, I guess. There are pop-ups of people and written dialogue and this goes on and on for a while. When you just about want to back out and uninstall this it takes you to a room. Very pretty graphics in the rooms; very reminiscent of the Agatha Christie games with tiny, tiny objects. You have about five items at the bottom of the screen that you have to find and then more appear as you find the items. Then we went to aother room where Kitty was getting dressed. Here is where I was so hopelessly stuck I ended my play here. I had a dress that needed mending and no way to find the thread and a hint person who kept telling me to drop the ribbons on Kitty but when I did they wouldn't stay there. This was a very strange game, indeed. It is hard to recommend or not recommend because I'm not sure if it was the game or if it was me. I surely didn't understand what was wanted of me. I will say that the music was harsh and I had to turn it way down and I didn't like the way the dialogue was presented in the boxes on a sketchy background. There was so much dialogue it would have been more enjoyable to simply read the book.

This is a very nice game. The storyline is a little different, you have to find a wayward brother who is using good for evil and turn him around. Then you have to find the missing pages of the diary and save the world. I liked the soundtrack and was glad the dialogue was written in bold letters, easy to see Multiple modes of play, a hint with an overclick penalty for the HO scenes, a skip button, a journal, a goals list and no map (here we go a-wandering). Sort of an old school format but I found it fun anyway. The graphics were clear and bright enough to see what you needed to do with an appropriate musical track and environmental sounds. I found the games good; not too easy, not too hard. I played the demo and will buy this one. I'm curious to see what or who that wraith is that appears in every new scene.

I am really on the fence with this one. The story line was okay; your twin sister has been kidnapped by ? and you have to find her.The explanation was rather vague. First of all it was way too dark for me to see what I was doing. Finding the flowers was difficult at best. You find flowers to collect coins to buy things at the store. There seems to be 2 per scene. There is a journal which holds the strategy guide as well, a hint and a skip. There are 3 modes, casual, advanced and hard. The hidden object scenes have some hidden items (in drawers and cupboards, behind curtains) but really isn't interactive. The items were small and dark and I ended up just clicking on everything to get through it. You can also choose to play a match 3 game but it's a very short one, hardly a challenge. The graphics are appealing but dark and I don't mean mood-wise. I had a terrible time reading the scipt; the letters were at the top and too thin to easily read. They also didn't stay on the screen long enough for me to read all of it. Because of my eyesight I'm probably not a good reviewer for this game. I really wanted to like this game and I did but it was so difficult to see and it took so long for me to complete a scene that I didn't come across any puzzles in the short amount of time the demo afforded me. By all means, please try this game decide for yourself.
