I think this would be a good game if it weren't so hesitant. The storyline is an old woman comes to your door and gives your wife a ring which renders her unconscious. It is your job to rectify this.
There are two game modes, regular and advanced. The graphics are okay and the HO scenes are okay (I had to use the hint to get the last one on the list). The hint gives you a picture of the item and a little of the surrounding area and then you hunt for it. The voiceovers could have been better. They are definitely people reading a script and a lot of the inflection is comical.
There is a fournal and a map, which makes it look like there are tons of places to go but there aren't. The squares are scenes instead of actual places.
The problem I found is that it takes a bit for it to change from scene to scene. The screen will go black whenever you change scenes, go in and out of HO scenes, puzzles, places to pick up items, etc. It's glitchy and transitions of any kind are very hesitant. If you can get past that, the game is nice enough although I only came across two puzzles in all the demo time.
The hint button gives you the strategy guide instead of just pointing the way to go next. That was a surprise.
I didn't find it all that interesting but it's worth a demo. It might get better the longer you play.
I recommend this game!

I had a hunch we were in trouble when the game opened and I was staring at a screen with a bunch of flags and nothing to tell me what to do with them. No words to click on, no cutscene opening, nothing. I clicked on the English flag and bingo! I was in the first HO scene to be played. There was no introduction, no place to put in your name, no options, no game modes, no choices. You don't even get to use your whole screen, just a window in the middle of your screen.
The graphics are colorful, bright, tiny and some items are so spot-sensitive you have to click all over the item to find the one spot that will let you pick the item up. When you finish this HO scene you get nothing for use in the future and now you are in the next HO scene. No moving from room to room on your own; you are automatically in the next scene,
The dialogue, which you have to read (no voice-overs) is in white lettering on a yellow background. Who dreamt this one up? The letters are finely outlined in blue, I think, but it's not enough to make them readable.
I found one puzzle, move the cars so you ccan get the yellow car out of the "garage". The story plays out as you play. At one point Eva is wondering about what her great-grandma did on her voyage and if she wore the necklace she left Eva. I picked up a handerkerchief at this point and it went into an inventory I didn't even know I had but again, no instruction on what to do with it. I wiped the mirror with it and that's when I got a cutscene that takes Eva to the Titanic back in 1912 to find the answer to her question.
I would have liked to have seen how the story unfolded, but the HO scenes had become tedious by this point and I just didn't want to play anymore. I admit, I didn't play the entire demo, I got bored. I think mostly because I didn't have to hunt for the items; there was so much on the list that almost everything you saw was on the list and I really like the hunt for the items. I'm afraid this one's a no-buy for me.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a prime example why you should demo games for yourself.
It is a pirate themede game (hence the Irish jig usic) very apporopriate music for this game. You go from place to place playing the match-3 game until you get to a challenge. I found two challenges and could not find the right square to click on to make the whole thing clear the board. It was clearly a challenge!
The square motifs are planets and they come with all of the appropriate sounds and are quite colorful.
Yes, I do think this game will appeal to children or anyone else who likes to gather points (coins) to attain the most.
I think you should try the demo without a jaded eye, however. You might just find it is not bad at all.
I recommend this game!

..to go to all the trouble, time and money to make a game and end up with this.
The storyline isn't terrible; You are a journalist for a magazine and have been sent to Rio during Carnivale to interview a celebrity named Louise. Apparently there is some mystery afoot. Not a bad story.
When you get there, though, the dialogue between characters is presented in comic strip form (not the first time we've seeen this). There are no voice-overs and quite a bit of reading. The conversation is a bit juvenile. You have a hint, an item list, inventory, goal list and two modes of gameplay. I chose casual with no tutorial.
The first room was a colorful cafe with lots of super tiny stuff in it. Finding things was reduced to clicking and hoping to hear a ding because it meant you found something. You could check the list then to see what you found. Not a fun way to have to play. With this method and the hint system, you could finish a room.
I almost seems as if the developers are very inexperienced in what makes a good game and should maybe play a few to see what they need to strive for
. I didn't find any puzzles to play. The cocktail did not seem like a puzzle to me. You played a small HO scene and gathered the items for the cocktail but it made itself, you didn't get to mix it up.
The dialogue for the boyfriend of Louise when he is talking with Eva was stiff and cold. He seems to be quite helpless and leaves things he should be doing for Eva to do. After getting his drink and finding his flowers to give to Louise, you are asked to get rid of the butterflies because she is afraid of them. Oh, spare me. By this time I was disgusted with the whole thing and uninstalled it.
I have to agree with the other reviewers; this one's a stinker.
I don't recommend this game.

Another book...oddly done. This one is a trade off on preferences.
The graphics for the story are presented in comic strip form and people talking are on the screen surrounded by blackness instead of being in a "normal" setting. Now, if you can get past that, you get some lovely graphics for HO scenes and interactive scenes. You hunt for fragments of the items you need until you have all the parts, then they assemble themselves and go to your inventory.
The rooms scroll from side to side although not all at the same pace. The living room moves quickly but the next room moves at a snail's pace. There are puzzles sandwiched among your search for pieces. The one with the balls of yarn is quite unique. The game has only one mode of play; you can choose your sound, cursor and whether or not to skip the tutorial.
There are a great many pop-ups including ones that tell you you have clicked on something that is not useful. These do get to be annoying eventually. If you can get past the petty annoyances it is a really cute and challenging game.
I finished the demo but probably won't buy because I don't really care for FROGs.
I recommend you play the demo.
I recommend this game!

In this day and age there is no reason for this poorly crafted game to even be offered.
The graphics are colorful. The drawing is not too bad although some of the perspective is off. The storyline is all right. But those are it's only redeeming features.
First of all, it's a FROG....my least favorite type of hidden object game. Add to this the fact that the pieces are way too well hidden and you're left to click on everything and use the hints to find anything. The area across the bottom where the found pieces of the FROGs go until they assemble themselves and are transorted to the right side of the screen where the inventory is held take up nearly a third of the playing area. Not good. Then there are the incessant pop-ups that make you want to scream. I never did find a puzzle. I actually gave up on this one after about 20 minutes and I generally hang in until the bitter end.
I'm sorry to say I found no reason to play this game, not even to see how the story ended.
I don't recommend this game.

Okay...so I was expecting a stinker but it's not as bad as some reviewed.
This is not a match-3 but a Mah-jongg style game. You "match" or "remove" the two matching pictures that have free sides or are next to each other with nothing in between.
The story is you are building a theme park with the wonders of the world highlighted, i.e.Christ of the Andes, Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, etc. There are two game modes, relaxed and timed.and a really nice custom cursor. You gain money for the buildings by playing the game. There are power-ups, bombs, an icon that shows you what's left to pair, although I couldn't see that one, and one that clears an entire row. Not bad.
The graphics of the park are very primitive, the pictures on the game grid aren't so bad. The music, however, is very "game show" sounding; it's not pretty and somewhat annoying. I finally turned it off completely and left just the sound.
Don't let the bad reviews dissuade you from trying the demo. You might find it not so bad.
I recommend this game!

This is a nice, colorful TM game. I admit I am not fast enough to have any success at these games but I do try and this game is as good as the rest.
The story is Leia has to make her farm profitable and you help her with growing crops and tending animals. I love the chickens.
I didn't get very far with the demo; I didn't make it past stage three. I had a second storage and a flour mill. You get gold stars if you get your goal within the amount of time you're given. I took over twice as long to complete the tasks, but that's just me.
The graphics are good but the music is dreadful. I turned the sound off and the sound effects up all the way. The tutorial is a bit hard to read because it is a blue outline of the letters.
It's definitely worth a try to see if it's for you.
I recommend this game!

This has been the best match-3 offering in a while. Match-3 holds a special place in my heart because that's where I started gaming and this one is terrific.
It has a "save our town" storyline and the old Clockmaker is the one who gets you started and runs the power-up shop. The town has lost it's life because a curse has made time run backwards. You go from house to house and play to restore each home.
The colors are bright and the graphics sharp, the sounds for the power-ups are nice and the musical soundtrack is very spooky {Halloween-type} and appropriate for the game. There are bonus levels that require some strategic thinking and you can skip or replay them. You can also undo your last move. There are moments of a super round of gameplay and then it returns to the normal mode. There is a relaxed choice and a timed choice.
I really had a good time and I think this should appeal to the inner child in all of us.
I recommend this game!

Brava, developers ! This is the third installment in the Grim Tales series with Luisa, Gray and Brandon. This time the boy has stumbled upon a witch that has cursed him and you must find him and save him before he comes to more harm.
Three modes of play; casual, advanced and hard, a hint, skips and resets for puzzles, and a puppet who is a map with what has to be done at each site. This is a CE so you have the strategy guide as well.
The graphics are great, the music and sound effects are appropriate, the HO scenes are colorful and crisp (just right) and the puzzles are different (I loved the bee). There are lots of things to look at although the items you need for them don't all come soon. This is where the map with the list of things to do is really going to come in handy. There is no journal like we've become accustomed to seeing but you may not need it. I played the demo on casual and the time just flew by. I cannot wait to buy this game.
This is the type and quality of game I enjoy. Many are like this now and I've really become spoiled. All the games should be as good.
I recommend this game!
