--like the park ranger one too and the holiday specials, all by the same game co. I've looked forward to these cruise ones because I'm never going to take an actual cruise (some things you just want to keep pristine and perfect w/o the waiting in lines, etc). I don't know why the cruise staff all look like they are on drugs or otherwise zombified. Some of the mini-game puzzles drive me nuts and I've never liked them (so "Skip"). Some of the scenes are so cluttered and so detailed you can't really clearly see things, plus the return cruisers keep wearing the same clothes and hair styles, jewelry from from past trip but it is nice to see familiar faces But playing these games is so familiar and relaxing, not a whole lot of mental stress goes into working these games. This #6 really feels like the designers are sick of doing this, using scenes from past trips, just seemed more truncated than the previous ones--although I suppose it'd be difficult to come up with something new that wasn't bad news. i'm not sure I'd recommend this particular trip to anyone, the past ones yes.
I think they also do the Vacation Adventure games too. They aren't morbid or macabre, they aren't dark or scary. Just good fun. I find them relaxing, all of them. However, there's a little over a week until Halloween and there is still no Trick and Treat 3 (or 2019). Hope they haven't given up. I play without the music so can't speak to the sound quality. Storyline is fairly straight forward (let's just have fun!).
When I played the demo, I thought the game was just too easy and wasn't going to bother with it but got desperate for a new TM game (I've played my old one too many time while waiting for something new) so bought it. About halfway through the game, it gets harder, you have to do things in the correct order or you run out of supplies. Here, now, weeks later and I still haven't figured out the very last level and i've played it every day for a few hours (I confess), and that's never happened to me before, I've always been able to finish TM games. But don't buy the Collector's Ed, you get nothing worth the extra cost.
This game isn't as bad as some of the TM games out there. It's pretty basic: gather supplies you need to get past obstacles or to build something, fill in a hole, etc. i'm current stuck on Level 37, have played it through twice but the To Do list still says I need 3 warming fires and I've lit the only 3 warming fires I could find, so I'm stuck and go to the next level. Could be a glitch/bug or poor programming?
I bought this game I think in 2018, maybe it was the CE version so I'm a little confused why this regular version is coming out just now. I thought the game was fun and it took me a while to figure out all that I was supposed to be doing, ran out of time many times before I figured it out too which I'm not used to doing (running out of time). It's nicely different from other TM games but not in a bad way. I played it a bunch of time and am now waiting for the next mission although I can't imagine what else they could get into without becoming too similar to this first one.
I always liked this game although I keep confusing what gets the "ecocamp" credits and what gets the landscape the houses credit. That's must me. I do wish BFG would bring back the community game help so Qs could be A'd. On Lev. 43, it says it wants All Buildings but doesn't give enough building plots. I have torn down every single building, one at a time, to get the the number of how many more I need and can't seem to make it work.
I was able to get through the whole game using just the demo, didn't need to buy the game. There wasn't much of a challenge. But the visuals were sweet, kind of reminded me of some other similar but rare games from the past. I did get a feeling this was a game for children though. Wish it had been a bit longer if it had to be this simplistic.
The game reminds me a great deal of those "free to play" games where after you've played for a while, you find out you probably will have to "buy" (with real money) time or more supplies or something in order to progress, unless you want to endlessly wait for things to recharge. There's no real money involved here though, just constantly having to buy more barn and/or silo space. You can't buy a second silo or barn either. And I have yet to figure out how to tear down a building I accidentally clicked on and it built itself--you can't cancel a build or demolish if after you've clicked on it--I only want the extraneous thing out of the way, don't care if the game reimbursed me. Yet since I bought it a couple days ago, I've been playing for hours every day. I almost wish I could have it always on in the background while I play other games and such just so I could go back to it when I have a minute here and there. I don't quite know what the final goal is either, maybe to buy up all the land? I also kind of wish the chickens would simply go into their house to roost when they aren't laying, lying there looking like roadkill makes me sad yet if I continue to feed them and gather eggs I run out of barn/silo space with things I don't exactly need yet. At least the fish don't look like they're dying. Cows, and I know it's just me imposing things on them, look like they're in pain if you don't milk them (but run out of storage space if I keep milking them--btw, the only way to get more milk cans is to keep milking the cows--took me at least a full day to figure that one out). And yet, I keep playing this game. It is worth the money if only because it takes so long to save enough money and supplies to level up and/or buy another lot of land.
It took me a while to remember how to play this game, that's how long it's been, and I replay old games while I'm impatiently waiting for new TM/Strategy games to come out finally. This is one of my favorites. Same basic quests as in the past, but the game is long so you don't get bored. They have upgraded some things for the better. I don't really like that princess though, not the way they've drawn her or her attitude (I've gotten to the "you know, she's not worth bothering with, she's just another spoiled brat" stage and wish I could skip over the guy's hallucinations of her). The hero keeps losing his family, poor dude.
First, I wish they hadn't changed the way they looked, I liked the wife looking more like Morticia, more vampire-ish. I do like that both Drac and his wife, and even the Princess have their roles in the Ice Kingdom; I really like the Princess kicks things to get rid of them (if you've played previous version of this game you'll know she isn't exactly gentle and kind). You don't get to buy new zombies, you're given a set number to work with. Once you've built the buildings, they will automatically send their products to the collection but will also toss out a product every now and then to be collected. I didn't find this version as challenging as past versions but it was still fun and something I'll replay until the next version comes out. I, too, would have preferred to buy the Collector's Edition but was too eager to play and couldn't wait (no guarantee a CE will come out either).
