This match-3 game requires you to slide either a row or a column in order to make a match. Matches are used to build jewelry pieces which you then sell in your cart/kiosk/boutique which you can then use to improve your store. You repeat this process across multiple stores.
Your portfolio of items gets more and more diversified, and you have to supply the demand by building pieces: you decide which piece you build by clicking on the jewelry piece you want to make... the more elaborate the piece, the more tiles matched it requires.
I enjoyed the concept, and the tiles are bright and well defined. However, I eventually realized that while making progress in building a piece, that progress would be lost if I were to select to make a different style... so the timing of when you switch between making styles is critical. As you progress thru levels, upgrades become more expensive, jewelry styles require more matches to build (or more strict matches).
This is a timed game, with no option for a relaxed or different difficulty settings... hence losing a star.
Still, looks like a fun game as my hour just zipped by. I used Windows 10 without any issue.
I recommend this game!

I'm not sure which game category this falls under... perhaps strategy?
The concept is to match a male and female of the species (cats, dogs, ducks), and colour by using your mouse to draw a path between them so they can kiss and rise into the sky: that's how they get removed from the scene!
This gets complicated quickly based on the terrain/scene where you have to avoid obstacles that will disrupt the movement of the animal towards its "lover", but can also pickup boosters along the way. Pets can fall asleep if they stay inactive too long, be inside houses (you'll need to click the house to get them out), etc. Obstacles can be objects/topography of the scene, bridges requiring levers and/or buttons to be lowered, can be restricted to 1 colour, etc.
Graphics are bright and fairly childish/cute; that's where the notion of ease and simplicity ends. There are only a few animals in the scene in the first few levels as you're learning the basics of the game. You'll discover real soon that creating the link between 2 pets might/will require strategy and multiple segments as the animal will stop if its path is broken by another path.
So this game requires some planning, and is unfortunately only available in a timed mode; I would have liked to get more adept at it with more "practice".
There is a bonus level after every 5th scene.
Try it for yourself: I found it both addictive and frustrating when I was approaching the very end of the trial period. Time just flew by! I suggest you won't get a good sample until you've reached level 10.
I recommend this game!

The purpose of this arcade game is to build "projects" by having robots construct a structure made of LEGO blocks.
You operate a crane/catcher and as you collect blocks of the proper colour, you're creating robots that have a short lifespan but who contribute to building the structure. The more robots you have working on the project, the faster the project will get completed.
Blocks fall from the sky, and this game is based on your reaction time to move your crane/catcher in time to catch the proper coloured block (or object that can be help or impede your progress).
I didn't find the game particularly original or worthy of a purchase.
I don't recommend this game.

Think of this game as a chain-type match 3, but the tiles (in this case, little drops of paint) don't need to be next to each other: you can jump over drops of another color in order to create the longest possible string of drops by moving across rows and columns: you cannot go diagonally. Your objective is to gather the targeted number of drops of each color in order to complete the painting, which progresses as you gather drops... well thought out!
You can create rainbow drops if you cross back over one of your lines, and you earn coins/power-ups from the little tube of paint. Coins can be spent in the shop to get upgrades.
I think young kids will like this because it combines some strategy to create strings while painting colourful pictures.
I played this using Windows 10 with no problem whatsoever, and got more addicted to the gameplay than to painting objects.
I recommend this game!

Hidden Island consists of a match-3 concept where you need to swap sections of 5 rings in order to have 3 sections of the same color in a row. You can only swap sections that are adjacent to each other.
The game comes in 3 modes:
1) "Action": fill up an energy bar to go to the next level before time runs out; your energy goes up when you make a match and slowly goes down when you're not;
2) "Adventure": you need to remove all the symbols embedded in the sections to reach the next level; no timer
3) "Endless", like "Action" mode, but without the timer (your energy only goes UP)
The colours are very bright, almost neon-like. I found the slight rotation of the whole circle a bit distracting; it's a feature you can leave on or turn off in the "Options" menu.
The mechanics work great (I'm using Windows 10) but do require you move your mouse properly (so that a left-right swap doesn't end up being an up-down swap). Sounds obvious, but remember that you're working with rings!
The levels I reached in each of the 3 modes contained 5 rings each; I'm not sure if there are more further along in the game. Match-4 and Match-5 earn you power-ups (e.g. bombs) and consecutive matches of the same color earn you tools (e.g. power wands).
Try it! I found it made for a distracting change to the typical "tile"-swap M3 games.
I recommend this game!

This "simple" brain teaser becomes quite complicated as you make progress. The first levels are simple: you make a "circle" of 6 balls of the same color by placing objects (balls, sliders, spinners, bombs, ice patches, etc.) on a field to make those "circles" disappear. I've put "circles" between brackets because they're actually hexagons, hence the name of the game!
There is no timer (yay!) and you can undo moves, 1 at a time, all the way to step 1 of a level if you're blocked. You can also turn the "hints" feature on or off.
There are 64 levels increasing in difficulty and the behavior of the objects and tiles increase in complexity, like comparing the movements of the pawn at chess those of the knight. I didn't find the hint feature to be useful, so prepare yourself to hit that "undo" feature frequently.
I would have liked a more helpful hint feature … something that helps me either rotating a piece of choosing the next item to be used from my inventory. It felt like I could get stuck on a level.
I played using Windows 10, so there were some glitches in the music/sound, both of which can be turned on/off. No issue whatsoever with graphics.
Try it for yourself, at least the first 7 or 8 levels before forming an opinion. With a better hint system, I would have grabbed this brain teaser! I recommend to those that thrive on logic puzzles.
I recommend this game!

Review based on the demo.
This is a hidden object game based on lists of items. The game is divided into 5 "sets" of 3 missions. It is a timed game, and if you run out of time during a set, you have to start the whole set again.
The mostly aquatic scenes are nice, almost photographic, but I found many of the objects so hard to find I had to use hints. There is a 10-second penalty every time you mis-click (yes, even the 1st click), so your timer can go down quite rapidly.
When I started, the "mission set" clock was at 8 hours to complete 3 missions... so I thought this will be an eezie breezy game. I was surprised however when the clock was down to 5 hours after I completed the very first mission in about 5 minutes; so despite having 8 hours to complete the set of 3 missions, that mission clock is not "real time". When I got to the last mission of the 1st set, my allotted mission time was 8 minutes, but my "mission set" time was 2 minutes?!?
Try it for yourself: I thought about half of the objects were fairly easy to spot, but the other half could be quite tricky... I play a HOG to relax, but this game was way too difficult: I couldn't finish the 1st set of 3 missions during the demo!
I don't recommend this game.

Review based on the trial period.
It seems that there are as many Mahjong games out there as there are boards.
This time around, in addition to the standard tiles, the dev has added "wisdom tiles" which you can go and open in your "Feng Shui Hall" when collected.
The boards progress in difficulty, but this game has only basic options which prevent it from standing out from the crowd:
1) you cannot configure the tiles
2) you cannot choose to replay a level AFTER you've moved on (but you can replay BEFORE moving to the next level)
3) you can choose to "shadow" blocked tiles, but you don't see how many matches are possible
4) I did not encounter power-ups (e.g. shuffle)
The game could also benefit from better grammar.
All I can say is give it a try; it didn't feel like a creative offering besides the Feng Shui words of wisdom, and the number of boards seemed limited:
a) "Path of "Sage" has 20 + some Fen Shui advice;
b) "Path of Buddah" has 30 + no target/timer;
c) "Path of Action" is slightly interesting but too quick: my board started with 30 tiles, and tiles are added as time goes on (faster and faster); the game is over when there are 60 tiles on the board. Definitely NOT a "relax" mode!
Not bad, but I can't recommend it...
I don't recommend this game.

Review based on the trial.
I remember when I got an Etch-A-Sketch eons ago... it was great to develop dexterity. This game combines that tradition with a few arcade-like modes. I think kids will like this game; there are 4 modes of play:
1) "Color": You basically colour scenes using various tools (crayons, spray cans, paint buckets, eraser, etc.) that you control with your mouse
2) "Etch": the more traditional game for drawing using crosshair tool that you can move around to draw your own scenes.
I had to turn off the "special effects" volume as it was getting on my nerves after about 10 seconds. I turned it back on before trying the other 2 arcade-like modes:
3) "Bounce": you draw lines to help Knobby (the main character) bounce and catch objects as well as protect him from objects that can hurt him (like spikes and pits).
4) "Quest": this mode has levels where you draw lines to block adversaries and ramps for Knobby to reach the portal to the next level.
These last 2 modes use a limited supply of "magic ink" to draw those lines, which will disappear after a few seconds, as well as a limited amount of health so you'll lose a life if you sustain too many injuries. Each level gives you bonus points if you beat the timer, but there is no penalty if you don't; you can still proceed to the next level.
I admit that, despite being a senior, I had fun playing the "Quest" mode... I enjoy 2D arcade scrolling-scene games.
If you have young children, I suggest you have them try it. It's certainly old-school, but still has entertainment merit.
I recommend this game!

Your goal is to build a timepiece by gathering the mechanism's gears.
The method used to make matches is possibly my least favorite: it's not swap, it's not chain, and it's not group: you have to "slide" a row or a column in order to have 3 or more gears of the same type/color next to each other.
The target is to collect enough bonus pieces (shown in the center of the gear) in time to advance to the next level. Between each level, you have a mini-game where a gear flies across the screen and you have to click on it so you can get bonus points/time. The more consecutive "grabs", the more you earn.
There are 3 levels of difficulty, but all of them are "timed", which makes it a "no buy" for me.
I didn't have issues during the trial using Windows 10. Try it for yourself: it worked smoothly for me, but I got bored after level 5. I still recommend it because it's well done.
I recommend this game!
