Storyline:
You are Grace, orphaned as a young child, and now that you've grown and it's time to move on from the orphanage some strange things have happened. You thought your parents were dead. You find an amulet with a note attached that says "please take care of our little girl". If that isn't shock enough, in the midst of a terrible storm, a man appears who says he's your Uncle and your entire family has been living in another dimension. Your amulet will allow you to travel through mirrors to different worlds. But, he says, the world where your family is, is dying. Evil darkness is spreading. He can say no more because ...... a monster comes out of the mirror and takes your Uncle back inside. Those monsters are being controlled by an even larger Evil. What can you do? You HAVE to find out if your parents are really alive. So, off you go through the portal that your mirror has become. In your desperation to help you find a prophecy. Are you the "forgotten child" who will save everyone? Is this YOUR destiny?
Graphics:
Pretty amazing. Not too dark and dreary but nothing bright and cheerful and cartoony either. The colors were a bit muted but I thing quite appropriate for the scenes.
Sound:
The voiceovers were great. As long as I can hear them and make out what's being said, that's a plus for me. Background music wasn't tedious and the sound effects were really good - from the windy rain storm to the owls.
Game Play:
There are 4 (or 5) mirrors (worlds) for you to go through. In the area where the mirrors were, I clicked on a large turtle and a dreamlike scene appeared with 5 mirrors - one had an angelic looking figure standing in front of it. They were named as follows: Lunos, Librios, Florus, Medios and Somnios. So 4 or 5? Guess we have to play the game to find out, huh? The object of the game is to go through all the mirrors and destroy the Evil that threatens to destroy the other worlds. It appears to be a long and arduous task. But, you have your Uncle's owl to help with things that are too high for you to reach - after you heal him. Don't worry - you don't have to name him or dress him or call him Cutey and he doesn't squawk, caw or speak. Silence is Golden - LOL.
HOGs:
Very nice to play for a change. Nothing dark and dreary. Nothing tiny and impossible to see. Yes, there were interactive items but for the most part straightforward itemized lists of items to locate. You can choose to play a match 3 game instead. Your reward, of course, is an inventory item.
Mini Games:
Some were very simple while others required some definite brain power. I had to skip one (for time's sake, when I own this game I'll definitely work on it until it's finished - HEY, did you get it? WHEN I buy it - HAH!). I'm sure those of you who played the demo know to which one I refer.
You are armed with some usual things and some rather unusual things in this game. For instance, an "album" that holds important notes and story information. A map (looks like a compass) that is transportable and indicates where you are and where an active objective is. I love that you can zoom in or out of the map areas to get a better picture of where you are going. A briefcase that holds rare items that will help you throughout the game (but you never see them once they go in there - hm) and the customary tutorial you can choose to take or not. There are 3 modes of difficulty - casual, advanced and hard. There are also "plus items" in your inventory.
CE Bling:
Bonus Chapter AND a Hidden Chapter
Strategy Guide
Achievements
Wallpapers, Concept Art (12), Music (4 tracks), Movies; and
176 leaves to find hidden in each scene. NOT one in each scene - it appears to be 3 in each scene. And when you find one, a little sign comes out the left side of your screen informing you how many are left to find in that scene and the total number you have found altogether (for example, "there are 2 more leaves in this area" and "5 of 176"). What happens when you collect this humongous number of leaves is beyond me but I can't wait to find out.
So, in this not-so-little-nutshell, the game has been explained and reviewed. This Glam-ma is sitting on the fence re purchasing it in the CE version or holding out for the SE and seeing what it has to offer. While there are definite items that pique my interest in the CE version, my pocketbook is only so deep and there have been quite a few good CEs that have recently come out - so Glam-ma has to be a bit watchful of how she spends. Too bad.
Anyhoo - (HAH, I said "hoo" - owl in the game - hoo hoo - I slay me - LOL). I encourage EVERYONE to try this game. The demo is free and you get a remarkable 90 minutes to play. I can almost bet most of you will really take to this game and want to hit that "BUY" button right away.
Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

I don't know about Witches and Warlocks, however, during the hour demo I did see a ghost - twice.
Storyline:
You are Katherine, an attorney, and your boyfriend/friend, Danny, calls you. He has almost found "it" he tells you. Then, you hear a scuffle. But, you don't know that Danny is being attacked and has killed his attacker - or has he? The Police burst into the room with weapons drawn and find a bloody knife. I don't know about Witches and Warlocks, however, during the hour demo I did see a ghost - twice.
Storyline:
You are Katherine and your boyfriend/friend, Danny, who is a mountaineer looking for years for a "totem", calls you. He has almost found "it" he tells you. Then, you hear a scuffle. But, you don't know that Danny is being attacked and has killed his attacker - or has he? The Police have burst into his room with weapons drawn, find a bloody knife and put it into an evidence bag. Danny tries to call you again. You look at the phone - Danny's picture on the incoming call - in sadness you just drop the phone to the floor ..... without answering.
Graphics:
Pretty "old-school" considering today's standards. Muted colors and scenery.
Sound:
No voiceovers, no lip syncing. You have to read everything. The background was okay - it didn't bother me at all.
Game Play:
Here's where some of my confusion comes in. She/you didn't answer Danny's call but you seem to be on a mission to find out what he has been looking for. You get transported back to early 1923, and that doesn't seem to surprise you at all (weird. I'd be totally freaked!). You go into various rooms, fix things, look for other things, pick up things and play an occasional HOG. The game has no flow or rhyme or reason to it.
HOGs:
The items can be somewhat difficult to find due to the monochromatic color scheme. The list is 6 items long, and as you find items they are deleted from the list and new items added in their place, until all is found and you get an inventory item.
Mini Games:
When I finally figured out how to play them, they were relatively easy. The BIG problem was ----- there were little to NO instructions given. Go figure.
You are armed with a journal, a transportable map - however, it seems that every room you've entered has an active objective - so there could feasibly be a dozen rooms all with active objectives waiting for you to finish them off. There is a lot of going back and forth. I found the map untrustworthy as it didn't always take me to the correct place and rather than go bouncing around from place to place forever, I preferred to use the hint button instead.
There is no tutorial and only 2 modes of difficulty - casual and expert. You do have to find 16 pieces of the totem to complete the game, however, you find the totem box fairly early in the game - but have no idea what it is or what it does - until much later in the demo when the Professor tells you. Ah, said I, THAT'S what that box that suddenly appeared next to my journal is for. During the demo I found 1 piece of the totem so I hope that signifies a fairly longish game.
Because the game didn't flow well. Because the mini games gave very little (the barest possible) or no instructions, I chose not to purchase the game at this time. There are definitely a few others I've played this weekend that caught my interest more.
However, I do encourage everyone to try the demo. It's free and it only takes an hour of your time. Who knows, maybe the lawyer/detective in you is just bursting to come out and enjoy a genre of game you've never played before.
Happy Gaming!

To me, it was boring.
Storyline:
I guess you play the detective who receives a cryptic message one dark rainy night. And after getting the items you need in the office you are off to investigate the FIRST murder scene.
Graphics:
Horrible. Dark and dreary to the extreme.
Sound:
Tuned off due to puppy sleeping behind me.
Game Play:
You have to find items in your office, look at a map and figure out where the crime willl be committed. You find a woman's body after examining the street you picked on the map. She's dead. You take out your trusted UV light and go over the body for clues. Once found, it's off to Investigation No. 2.
HOGs:
Obviously, this game is HOG heavy as you play them everywhere and then some. Problem is: the items are too dark to find in an already dark area. It's next to impossible to find anything you need to collect and move on.
You get a notebook that describes what you have to do in each location and lists any items or evidence you need to collect. There are ONLY 5 hints per investigation and no way to earn more.
This game was impossible. It was boring and the HOGs were impossible to play. It is a definite no buy for me and I don't encourage anyone to try it.
I don't recommend this game.

I am horrible at word games so I don't know why I even tried this game - variety is the spice of life, I guess - lol
Graphics:
There are cards, with letters on them. Black and white. That's it.
Sound:
Had it turned off. Sorry.
Game Play:
You have tiles, instead of cards (or cards marked with letters rather than numbers, etc.) that are set up like a game of solitaire. But, instead of moving cards with numbers around the game board, you do EXACTLY the same thing but making words. There is an intensive tutorial at the beginning of the game that takes you through every possible move you can make. To complete the level, you have to use every card in the solitaire layout to form words.
If I liked word games I would probably love the ingenuity of this game. Unfortunately, I am terrible at them. I do encourage everyone, however, to try this game, whether you're good at word games or not. The demo is free and an hour long. Who knows, either you might enjoy this because you're really good at it or you may have found a new genre of game you are good at.
Happy Gaming!

There is a storyline. Unfortunately, I was so captivated and mesmerized by the beautiful backgrounds and scenery that it slipped my mind.
Graphics:
Nothing overly bright nor overly cheerful looking. Muted colors, but appropriate for the game. If you play it, you'll get what I mean.
Sound:
When the background music started, I felt it was kind of a western sounding (like old cowboy music) but as it continued on it became strictly lilting, beautiful Asian music. Very relaxing. The sound effects were also appropriate for the game play. Nothing over the top with BOOMS and BLASTS just relaxing sounds.
Game Play:
You have to make match 3 or more of similar items on the game board by stringing items together. String 4 together and you'll get a bonus; string 7 or more together and you'll get a better bonus. Most bonuses activate themselves. Others you activate and will help you immensely. Even bonuses have to clear the board. Once the board is cleared and turned all blue, there is an artifact piece that must get to the bottom of the game board by continuing to match 3 or more like items.
This game follows a map by days. Week 1, Day 1; Week 1, Day 2. After one week of game play you have to find "visions" of the background scenery. Playing the game will explain better than I can, but it's really not hard. There appear to be a LOT of levels as you follow the path up a mountain backdrop.
This game is timed. I was surprised because I didn't really notice that until I got a little extra bonus surprise that said the next 7 levels would have 7 seconds added to it. After 21 days, I only timed out once. Game Play does get harder as you level up.
I was immensely surprised when my free hour was up and my initial reaction was "NO! NOT YET!" Because that is my personal "wow" factor. My indicator that this is a game I have to purchase.
I strongly encourage everyone to try this game. The demo is a very quick hour and it's free. I'll just bet you get hooked too. Who knows, this might be a genre of game you never thought you'd like - like me -lol

In 1923, a young woman goes deep into a wild jungle in search of rare flowers. She happens upon a hieroglyph and somehow she is matching gems and building golden totems. What happened to the flowers? Good question.
Graphics:
Pretty good. Nothing amazing. The colors were bright.
Sound:
The background music sounded very stone age and the sound effects could be annoying when you finally matched 3 or more. Bombs exploding sounded alright though.
Game Play:
This is not your usual match 3 game. Yes, you do have to match 3 or more crystals, but the crystals are marked with the following arrows: up, down, left and right, and they can only move in the direction given on that particular crystal. If a crystal is moved to the end of the row, however, it will do an about face and can then be moved in the opposite direction. Your goal is to remove all the gold tiles under the directional gems before time runs out. That's right, this is a timed game. No relaxed mode here. I recommend you use the bonuses that pop up on the game board immediately. They will help you in untold ways. Once you get the hang of the game play, it will become easier to move your crystals around the board.
Although I found this game somewhat enjoyable, the storyline was weak (frankly, it didn't make sense at all) and there was no relaxed mode so I won't be rushing to purchase it. However, I do encourage everyone to try the free demo. It's only an hour and you may enjoy it far more than I did.

The HD - 3D effects of this game are so amazing, so stunning, that I was captivated by it all and kept losing my "lives". LOL. But it was so worth it!
Graphics:
WOW! HD - 3D. Colors so bright and fantastic. Everything spot on.
Sound:
I did expect the music to assimilate to the scene. It was loud even though I turned it down in "options". I have an 8-week old puppy who I rescued at 6 weeks of age and she was sleeping on my arm so I turned the volume nearly off. The sound effects were GREAT! Love, love, love and love.
Game Play:
What can I say? This is not a ball or brick breaking game. It's way beyond more than that. There are HD - 3D scenes - whole scenes - packed full of LIFE and energy and you have to destroy everything in the scene. And the bonuses! They come floating down as blue extend the bats or a cannon or a helicopter or a box marked with a ? carried by helium balloons that's a surprise bonus.
Glam-ma says this game is definitely on my wish list. As usual, I encourage everyone to try this game. The demo is a very quick hour long and it's free to try. I just know you will be hooked.

I truly enjoyed this game. An upgrade from the previous ones in this series. Loved the inflated looking cartoonish characters more than anything!
Storyline:
The King of Islandshire has sent his subjects out to discover a new land. A message comes back to the King that a series of islands has been found - an archipelago - and the Chief of these islands agrees to let the King rule and the King, in return, will build up the island with houses, cottages, farms, sawmills and much much more.
Graphics:
As I said, I love the inflated looking, cartoonish characters. The colors were so bright and cheerful looking, as well as being very realistic (for example, the grass was green (or brown in the shade), the bark of the trees was a nice brown, everything just perfect.
Sound:
Had to turn the sound down due to puppy sleeping but the background music was upbeat and positive. It positively made the workers work - lol! The sound effects were great, trees being cut down (sorry, tree-huggers), buildings being built and even conversations could be heard - perfect!
Game Play:
Build, build and build some more. Cut down trees, work the gold mine and the forestry and make sure you have enough workers and food and wood to do everything necessary. There is a task list and since your time doesn't start until the first task is assigned, strategize a little before you start the level. You will build everything you need and upgrade as you go along as well. And read the little tips after and before each level, they really do help immensely. You can choose to play a "relaxed" level whereas you can continue to play after your time runs out. You can also restart or replay a level if you feel the need.
There is a very short tutorial just at the beginning of level 1 and possibly into level 2. And there is a "relaxed" mode which I didn't find very relaxing at all. There are also Achievements you can earn (a boatload of them). HAH! Boatload ------ a frigate of crew members - HAH - islands - I slay me.
Now, if I seem to like this game so much, why did I only give it 4 stars. Well, I'll tell you why I took a star away ------ First, I think it would have helped a lot if every time a new item was unlocked (or the ogre needs to be fed to clear the rubble, for example) we get SOME type of tutorial, help, something. Also, I'm a bit OCD and even though on the "relaxed" mode of play I can continue to play after the time runs out, there are still stars awarded - up to 3 depending on how well you did. If I'm playing "relaxed", there shouldn't be the competition (even if it's self-imposed) of trying to get those 3 stars on every level. It would drive me nuts!
So, for the above reason (and yes, some of you may think it's stupid), this Glam-ma will not be purchasing this game. However, I DO encourage everyone to try this demo - it's an hour long (a very quick hour) and it's absolutely free to try. I think you will enjoy it much more than I did.
Happy Gaming

If this had been a typical brick breaking game - even something "somewhat" out of the box - it might have worked. This? Not so much.
Storyline:
Disappointed. When I do a "Quest", I expect there to be an ongoing storyline. Not a whole chapter between levels, but a line or two as you progress would make sense. In this game, on Quest level, Uurooluu (sp?) the great owl does something, the land is fruitful and happy and then everything turns to sand and rust and shadows of itself.
Graphics:
In this day and age, for the graphics to be so poor is inexcusable, even if you are an up and coming developer. With a little more time and energy, this game's graphics could have been really something,
Sound:
I didn't get the background music that consisted of drum beats and something that sounded that periodic bursts of "huh". Was it supposed to be representative of the stone age? Cave men? What? Sound effects were too loud, even when I turned the volume down in "Options".
Game Play:
Something I've NEVER done before. I'm going to break this down into 3 areas.
Things I Understood:
As in any brick breaking game, you have before you a scene (in this case, I believe it was supposed to be temples) and you shoot a ball and try to destroy the scene without losing all your lives. You gain bonuses as they fall from breaking bricks and you catch them with your "paddle" at the bottom of the screen.
Things I Didn't Understand:
It seemed, at one point, when I added my name in profiles and then chose "Quest", I can to a blank screen with the entire border full of "objects". Was I supposed to build my own "story"? Was I supposed to build my own scene? No instruction anywhere. Then I chose a name already listed - Lands of Lore I believe - and a scene showed up. I chose an avatar but was also supposed to choose a "ship"? I don't know because once I chose the avatar it went right to the "play" option. I just didn't understand what was going on.
Things I Disliked:
Aside from not having ANY instructions at all, which is stupid (I hate that word) because EVERY game, brick breaking, HOG, Adventure, I don't care, has it's own nuances. There should be SOME instruction. And why did the ball be so dark in color it almost blended into the background? And what was the "tail" about? I've seen that in other games when you get a bonus and the ball does something special, but in this game, there is a perpetual meteor-like tail that is so distracting you can't concentrate on the game. Also, I've never started in level 1 and had the ball go so fast. Yes, if a bonus caused it and yes, after I leveled up a few times.
For all the above reasons, this Glam-ma is not only passing on this game - I am running for the hills to play one of several other games of this type I own from the BF site. I cannot in good conscience encourage anyone to try this game. Regardless of the free demo and the very long hour of play.
This game had a lot of potential. Instead of having a good time? My axle broke.
I don't recommend this game.

I'm not even going to bother with my usual review giving details about storyline, graphics, sound and game play because it was just that terrible I'm not going to waste my time.
The tutorial was very helpful. Best part of the game.
You enter the town. But, no matter where you go, there is nothing to do - nothing to pick up, move, no HOG, no mystery. What's the point of this game????? I wish I knew.
There's no map so getting around is impossible and you get stuck in many dead ends and trying to go "back" to get where you think you ought to be? Well, you don't end up there at all.
This Glam-ma exited t his game and uninstalled it after 20 minutes. I cannot in good conscience encourage anyone to even try it. Go, run and find a much better game anywhere on the BF site.
I don't recommend this game.
