I cannot say that this is the worst game I have played but it certainly merits a trip to my bin. I cannot imagine hard-core HOG lovers enjoying this game but in the spirit of the Olympics, few may want to join Mike and Sally on thir very lame adventure to London. In no way does this game even come close to other HOGs that take us to different cities, so be warned. Thegraphics are old but colorful, the music is on a loop and HO scenes are crowded with very tiny objects and some are hidden. There are two play modes but that does not mean two levels of challenges. Game mechanics involve one junk-piled scene after another with simple mini-games thrown in. This one seems to have came out of the archives and I guess if you really are a fan of the old HOGs or you are 12, I still would not recommend this game.
I don't recommend this game.

In my opinion, Dying for Daylight is one of the most entertaining PC games out there and Daliha has got to be one of the most animated, sexy and funny character I have come across. With great graphics, brilliant voice-overs and excellent game mechanics, this game makes you want more. It has been over a year and still many of us are anxiously waiting for a sequel which according to the rumor mill is still not inthe works. The story is the creation of of Charlene Harris (Creator of True Blood), and the developers have done a top notch job in bringing her to life. This game is a great HOPA, heavy on the adventure with interactive HO scenes, great minigames and puzzles. You come across many whacky characters and as the game moves along, you find yourself being immersed into Daliha's World. A very sexy game and hope that there will be more.
I recommend this game!

Another awesome HOPA from my favorite developers. I actually bought the CE edition and for those who passed, do not hesitate to get the SE. This is one of those games that offer you the great value along with a very entertaining gaming experience. Once again we have a mystery to solve where you are asked to investigate a series of deaths of young woman and find out who the killer is. There is a sinister family involved and a dark secret to uncover. Although I thought the graphics were good, resolution was off at times and cutscenes did tend to get blurry at times, nevertheless, I loved the artwork, sound effects and great voice-overs that brought life to our characters. The music feature is a wonderful surprise and I loved the fact that you have a selection of tunes from a jukebox and can change it throughout the game. This is a HOPA that offers you everything; heavy on the adventure, a variety of HO scenes that differ from the ones we usually play and many unique and fun puzzles/mini-games to solve. Game features and mechanics include a diary and a hint system where you can increase number of hints by finding fans hidden in the HO scenes. There are three modes of game play, and you collect coins that will buy you items and tools that you will need during gameplay. HO scenes are different from the standard HOGs and very interactive. You either find several of one paticular item or use one item on another to complete the scene. Overall, I quite enjoyed the gameplay, there was just enough challenge to get hooked and I also found the story intriguing. It was not the best we have seen from these developers, but it certainly gets 5 stars from me on the mechanics alone.
I recommend this game!

You really cannot deny that these devlopers get better and better with each game they put out. The opening scenes with live actors, great voice-overs was what prompted me to immediately buy, without even going through the demo. It is a great game that starts with a compelling story. While I find myself being almost buried alive by some gangsters, I felt chills run down my spine. The graphics are superb along with artwork and special effects. I loved the sound effects and music. Live actors are used and voice-overs are very well done. Game features three play modes and depending how experienced you are, you have a choice of sparkles or no sparkles. You have a journal and a Mystical crow that will retrieve things for you, provided you find the crow runes to activate him. The SG follows your progress and remains where you left off. Game mechanics involve mostly adventure and HO scenes that are excellent. HO scenes are interactive with puzzles to solve and items to use. There are mini-games that were fairly easy to play and puzzles to solve and time portals to go through as well. The game offers you a great time, lots of things to do, and items to combine inyour inventory. There is a mystery to solve and your attempt to escape from a very spooky island. As always, Kudos to the devlopers for yet another great gaming experience.
I recommend this game!

If you are very new to HOGs or you are 12, this game just may appeal to you. As for the rest, sorry, this ship will probably set sail without you. A straight HOG, through and through. Graphics are good, artwork pathetic and music even more pathetic. Two game modes: Casual or Timed. Mini-games, few and too easy. Lots and LOts and again Lots of HO scenes that only junkies will appreciate. The developers really cut corners on this one, had they added features like achievements, awards and some better games, kids might have actually enjoyed this. This game is old, and I wish I could call it a classic but I have played better HOGs in my days. I guess they really had to work hard to dig this one up from the archives and from there, it will go straight to the bin. Sorry, this ship goes down without me.
I don't recommend this game.

Just when you think you have outgrown certain HO games, one pops up your way that once again reminds you how far you have come. If you are in a nostalgic mood or you are a novice to PC game, I suppose you can start of with this one. Provided you can avoid cringing at the graphics, the music and not to mention, the game mechanics that when all combined, create a very tedious and flat gaming experience. The storyline is irrelavent and told through cartoon graphics with written dialogue that load up to your screen very slowly. The music is bad, so bad that my grandfather actually liked it when I was trying out the demo and told me to keep this station on. He likes this kind of music. Game features include a task list and hint system that refills quickly, no gameplay mode and you can jump locations by clicking on the scenes below your task bar. HO scenes are plenty and objects are obscure that you will need to use extra anti wrinkkle cream tonight. Mini games are almost laughable and not to mention, you will need to move around alot. There is no direction to this game, and you end up picking up objects that you dont need and you wonder, just why do I need green and red nail polish. Be patient, you find out after the next couple of scenes and you will thank me for having picked them up. It is not the worst game I have played and to be quite frank, I played the entire demo. I will pass because I, like many others, have outgrown these games. They no longer hold my interest but merely add tomy frustration at the poor quality of almost everything.
I don't recommend this game.

The opening scene was what made me buy the CE edition of this game, and for those who passed, definitely get the SE edition. This game offers unique features and game mechnics and as story line that you either will love or hate. The story begins with a viral plague that has erupted in a town. Patient zero tuns out to be twin siblings, one has has already succumbed to the virus whilst the other has survived. She carries the antidote and you are hired to find her but there is another mysterious character who is also after her. The plot is certainly different from the demons and ghosts that we have seen and I really did like the way these devlopers integrated real live film footages along with real people in the game. What really impressed me was the option menu which is unique and I believe will be the new trend in games. You are able to adjust game features to normal or advanced or customise all your settings including how fast you want your hint to recharge, your puzzles to be skipped and the amount of sparkles you want. Now that is just so cool , KUDOS to the developers. Game features also include great voice overs that are well acted out and I did like the music which added suspense to the gameplay. The Graphics were not as sharp as I wanted poorbut the complexities that were involved with the game mechanics made up for it. This game is an Adventure/HOG with unique HO scenes which I think will begin a new trend in the gaming community. HO scenes are ultra interactive whereby each item you find is used to find another object. Had the graphics been better, I would have certainly enjoyed playing them more but alas, due to poor visibility, some items were just impossible to find. There is a diary and a map that unfortunately is not interactive. You also have to collect gold coins along the way which you use to purchase some vital items during the game. The mini-games are complex, at least the ones that I did play and instructions are not so very clear. The SG is also different with too many colors, you will understand what I mean when you refer to it. Hard-core players will definitely enjoy this game and I think that despite the visuals, Infected offers a really unique gameplay which will appeal to those who are bored of standard HOGs. This game will definitely bring about a change with standard HOGs and I hope it does.
I recommend this game!

Once again we have a winner that will definitely rank number one game this month. The story is intriguing, as a phychic, you enter the world of a young Jane Doe who has a secret that you need to uncover. Visually the game deserves five stars. Live actors are used with very good voice overs that are in synch. Annimations are life-like and graphics are sharp and clear. I loved the art work which boarders on fantastical and spooky. Game features include many options from wide screen to custome cursor. There are three game modes to play. This is a very well designed HOPA with much to do. You have a map that outlines your progress with icons and transports you to locations. There are bonus objects to collect, flowers and achievments. The only slight dissapointment was the fact that sparkles were used to point out the flowers which takes away the challenge of looking for them. Also as a special bonus, you use the flowers you collect to buy things in a shop and decorate your "Office". There are HO scenes that are easy but not interactive. Mini-games differed, a couple were quite challenging. All in all, this game exceeds the first installment and as that also was one of my favorites, I am happy to say that this will rank high on my list as best game for 2012. Kudos to developers and thank you BFG.
I recommend this game!

If I am not mistaken, we had another game with same story not long ago which was bad. Now I am trying to choose which one is worst. I am a big fan of P&P however Live Novels just does not make me want to spend time with one of my favorite literature characters, Mr. Darcey. The Game begins with hand drawn art work and unfortunately scenes load very slowly. This is a FROG/HO/Interactive Game which involves scrolling screen. I anticipate that many will not like this feature. There is a journal with a task list and no voice-over. I liked the music but it is on a loop and does get annoying after a while. Visuals and Graphics are poor and items are difficut to find. Hint system does refill quickly and there is only one mode of game play. No sparkles and HO scenes are easy to play. Not a difficult game but very tedious and uninspiring. Sorry, it is a pass on this. I prefer to go and re-read the book.
I don't recommend this game.

If you havent heard by now, then know this, Syberia Series is an all time classic and in my opinion, one of the best PC games out there. Yes, it is strickly adventure and yes the graphics could be considered out dated and yes, BFG is now re-packaging it in parts whereas the original was two games. Still, for those who love adventure, for those who want to learn adventure and for those who want to know what it feels like to be completely submerged into a story, so much so that you become part of the story, not to mention having an awesome gaming experience, this really is a game to own. The visuals are breathtaking, artwork is fantstic, voice-over acting top rate and game mechanics involve solving puzzles, collecting inventory items and being submerged into a journey that you will not easily forget. It is a difficult game to play and beginners to the genre might become frustrated at first, as I did. Please, have patience, look at the walkthrough and stick with it. I promis, after a while you will get the hang of it and soon will be hooked, just like I did. The storyline alone is worth the effort. Syberia will always remain in my memory and to date, no other adventure game has moved me as much as Syberia.
I recommend this game!
